“Mini-Phila is accelerating!” said Amethyst, looking back at the sample. They had dubbed it ‘Mini-Phila’ but decided against cloning her.
“I’ll look back in the books,” said Sahara. “I don’t understand. It says in order to clone her we need to let her grow in a cool damp surface. And with Oma’s fire so close to her, it’s anything from cool and damp.”
“Yes, those are the conditions to clone, but reincarnation conditions are basically endless,” said Amethyst.

“Reincarnation?” asked Nadia. “But that only happens after someone dies.”
“It’s the only explainable way that her cells are regenerating. As a clone, she could only get so much energy in one place, so there must be a complete lack of energy and movement on the other side, with the Phila we know.” Amethyst wrung her hands.
Garnet looked up. “What are you saying, Amethyst?”
Amethyst looked up. “I think Phila just died.”
