“They found her and Aisa’s bodies on top of one another,” said Garnet. “And Aisa has been dead for almost three days.” People were filling into the lunchroom.
“Now this is getting creepy,” said Nadia. “Three people dead in three days from the same friend group.” Haze sat down next to Ella, and put his arm around her.
“Oh shoot, I forgot a drink,” he said getting up.
“I have an extra,” said Amethyst, tossing him a bottle of pink liquid. Haze caught it.
“Thanks,” he said right before he took a sip. “Wow, this is really good.”
“I made it myself. I would tell you exactly what’s in it, but it’s my secret recipe,” said Amethyst, winking at Dian, who looked like she was going to have an aneurysm. “Actually, recipes are for baking. This is more of a hybrid solution--”
“Dian, you don’t look so good,” said Ella, interrupting Amethyst. “Do you need some fresh air?” Dian held onto Garnet as she got up.

“Hey Garnet, can you walk me to the Hospital Wing?” Dian asked Garnet as they left. Amethyst waved goodbye to them.
“Dian doesn’t like the drinks I make,” said Amethyst, improvising. “Her tastebuds lack proper recognition of art.”
“Ow,” said Phila. “Whoever is playing footsies under the table, please stop.” She looked directly at Ella and Haze.
“Sorry,” said a voice. “I thought there was room here.” Terrance appeared.
“Terrance, did you hear what happened to Esma?” asked Sahara. Nadia mouthed ‘who is this’ to the rest of the table.
“Terrance, meet my friends, and Ella’s boyfriend Haze,” said Sahara.
“Hey, aren’t I one of your friends? After all, a friend of my baby Ella is a friend of me!” he said gleefully. Ella blushed.
“Ok…” said Terrance, scooching closer to Sahara. “Yes, I heard about Esma.” He looked at his watch.
“Actually, we have to go now. Mr. Trawn told me to meet him around this time in case he found out anything about your father or sisters,” said Terrance. “And he may have found stuff out about my mother, too.” Sahara stood up.
“What are we waiting for, let’s find out!” she said, walking out of the lunchroom.
