Clearly seen from the dark circles under his eyes at breakfast, Cheng Yu did not sleep particularly well last night.
He was kept wide awake in fear that Chen Hua would accidentally fall off the bed again.
When she breathed, the girl in his arms would inhale through her nose. Only to exhale with a small huff from her mouth. Being in contact with her, Cheng Yu could feel her small chest rise and fall with every breath. Feeling her soft skin against his hands, how could he possibly fall asleep when his little brother was so energetic throughout the night?
Hey! You rang?
Fortunately, Cheng Yu was still able to restrain himself. Having learnt from past lessons, he winced in memory of the pain. Instantly silencing his little brother’s ravenous desires.
While Cheng Yu was in a frantic state of mind, Chen Hua actually doze off in his arms! It was as though Cheng Yu was a portable heater, keeping him warm as he slept through the night. Chen Hua slept extremely comfortably that night.
“Xiao Yu ah, you didn’t sleep well last night?” Mama Li couldn’t help but notice Cheng Yu’s panda eyes in comparison to Chen Hua’s practically glowing skin.
“I guess despite being injured, Chen Hua is quite the carnivore!” Mama Li exclaimed.
“Indeed! I like to eat Chinese sausages! Although they do taste a bit salty.” Completely missing Mama Li’s implied meaning, Chen Hua dimwittedly responded.
Cheng Yu nearly choked on his congee. Why was it that every time something came out from the girl’s mouth, it only caused misunderstandings for him?
“It’s not like that! Actually we—” Cheng Yu tried to clear his name once again, only to be interrupted by his father. Cheng Yu couldn’t help but feel a sense of déjà vu.
“Xiao Yu, if you can’t keep up with your partner, it’s important to communicate that to them. But it’s good that she likes what you have to offer.” Grunted Cheng Yu’s father who had undergone the tribulations of a horror known to most as marriage, before placing an empathetic hand onto Cheng Yu’s shoulder.
“Xiao Yu, don’t you need to leave for work?” Mama Li reminded Cheng Yu who was once again dumbfounded by the misunderstanding caused by the girl’s mouth. This time, however, he was not going to let the matter slide.
If only there was a way to keep that mouth shut…
With that in mind, Cheng Yu went to seek equivalent reparations for the damage caused by Chen Hua’s careless words. Much to Mama Li’s delight, just before he was about to leave for work, Cheng Yu snuck up behind Chen Hua and pressed his lips onto the girl’s unguarded lips.
Taken by surprise from Cheng Yu’s sudden assault on her lips, the girl gasped for air. A grave mistake on her part. After all, the last time she opened her mouth to breathe, an unwelcome intruder took the opportunity to slip in.
As history repeated itself, Chen Hua was left breathless and feeling thoroughly violated. Reeling and dazed as their lips finally parted, Chen Hua gave Cheng Yu a resounding slap across the face, not giving Cheng Yu any face in front of his own parents.

Pressed for time and thoroughly regretting his actions, Cheng Yu left for work with a burning sting that he felt across his left cheek.
Cheng Yu’s father simply coughed and pretended he saw nothing. Noticing how useless her husband was in the face of such matters, Mama Li couldn’t help but show concern for the sake of her son’s future marriage.
“Chen Hua ah… Don’t you think that was a bit much? It’s perfectly normal to kiss your partner goodbye…” Mama Li folded her arms and chided him. She had expected a great display of love in the morning. But was disappointed by how it ended.
“...” Chen Hua didn’t want to oppose Mama Li since he viewed her favourably. Instead, he only gave her a sullen nod while thinking terrible, nasty thoughts of Cheng Yu. The only thing that Cheng Yu will kiss, is my ass!
Seeing her son’s girlfriend nod in agreement with her, a devious plan started brewing in Mama Li’s mind. “After treating him like that, you have to make it up to him! Don’t you agree?” Firmly gripped by the arms by Mama Li, Chen Hua was unable to refuse the earnest eyes that stared directly into the windows of his soul.
With the owner’s permission, Mama Li raided Chen Hua’s wardrobe in search of a greatly sought after treasure, flipping over the heavens and earth. But there was not a single object of her search in sight.
“My future daughter-in-law! We are going shopping! Right now!”
Before Chen Hua could respond to Mama Li’s sudden outburst, he was already whisked out of the door and well on his way to go shopping with her.
Cheng Yu's father took a sip of coffee and looked bitterly out of the window. It was really sad to be alone during the day.
…
Upon arrival at his workplace, Cheng Yu received curious stares from his colleagues. It wasn’t hard for him to guess why. The slap he received from Chen Hua was still stinging and had clearly left an imprint on his face.
Raising his hand to stroke the afflicted area, he winced in pain. It appeared that she really didn’t hold back.
Returning his attention to the people looking at him, Cheng Yu simply silenced the murmuring crowd and gossiping co-workers with a grim death stare. A freezing wind swept through the office bringing about a frozen wasteland as Cheng Yu made his way into his office.
Unfortunately, Ruiyang had dropped by Cheng Yu’s office after dabbling in gossip with his employees and was greatly intrigued by tales they spun about Cheng Yu.
“Woah! Cheng Yu, what did you do now?” Ruiyang started pointing at the vividly imprinted palm on Cheng Yu’s face.
To Ruiyang, what happened to Cheng Yu’s face was a special limited time event that only happens once in a blue moon. With Cheng Yu’s riveting looks and cold mannerisms, even the most stubborn of women would find their heart skipping a beat before him! Let alone slapping him, they would already be weak in the knees at the prospect of conversing with him!
Having put his faith in Ruiyang before, Cheng Yu decided not to tell him anything at all. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice? Shame on me. Instead, he pulled out his trump card. The icy cold death glare capable of silencing even the most talkative of employees.
But it was of no use against him the devious fellow before him. How could he hope to silence a person who had built up a sturdy resilience against his legendary ‘Freezing Glare’?
“Hehe! That look means that it has to do with that girl yet again right?” Ruiyang teased, probing for a reaction.
Ruiyang’s guess had hit home, causing Cheng Yu’s face became 50 shades darker in annoyance. Regardless, he remained silent towards Ruiyang’s incessant badgering.
The mere flickering of Cheng Yu’s expression did not go unnoticed by Ruiyang. Having known each other for so long, he could read Cheng Yu like a book.“If you need advice or anything, just tell me!” With a mischievous grin on his face, Ruiyang proudly bragged while stroking his chin in understanding.
“If you’re so free, help me sign this stack of papers.” scowled Cheng Yu as he pushed a hefty amount of papers into Ruiyang’s hands.
Flipping through the contents and casually glossing over them, Ruiyang couldn’t help but break out in cold sweat. “Isn’t this a bit much?”
“It’s for our rising star once she’s recovered. We’ve already wasted a lot of time.” With a sinister smile plastered on his face, Cheng Yu plainly stated.
