Today, during breakfast, Chen Hua felt bloated despite having just woke up and refused breakfast. Furthermore, he had a terrible headache and stomach that wouldn’t go away, causing every little thing to bother him. It was as though he had woken up on the wrong side of the bed.
After breakfast, Cheng Yu jokingly informed Chen Hua, “The single bed I ordered should be coming today, I’d like my bed back. Sleeping on the sofa is really painful.”
But upon hearing Cheng Yu’s complaints about sleeping on the sofa, something inside Chen Hua just snapped. “I don’t care! You can sleep on the floor for all I care!” You’re so selfish! How can a man like me possibly sleep comfortably on a single sized bed!
Sensing a storm brewing, the wise maids with their vast knowledge and experience from Korean dramas quickly fled the scene.
Chen Hua’s sudden impertinence had caught Cheng Yu off-guard initially. But quickly, Cheng Yu’s temper flared with anger as he hit the roof. “How dare you! You’re the one freeloading off me! This is my house and you should abide by my rules!”
Tears started welling in Chen Hua’s eyes when Cheng Yu raised his voice at him. Chen Hua started hurtling profanities as well as cushions at Cheng Yu in response. “You don’t know what it’s like to suddenly be in this situation!” I had a retirement plan, a sizable amount of savings and a wide array of porn! And now everything has been taken from me! EVERYTHING!
Cheng Yu swiftly grabbed his bag for work and stormed out of the penthouse. Leaving Chen Hua sobbing and the furniture in disarray.
Seeing the category six hurricane dissipate, the maids made their way back into the mess. Cleaning the place up with a hushed tone before quietly leaving once again. It was best to not be the subject of torment lest the master of the house seeks to vent.
…
Cheng Yu drove to work while in a fit of rage. What’s wrong with her? All I did was jokingly grumble about something and she lit up like a firecracker.
Upon entering YueDan Entertainment’s building, everyone in the office who was originally gossiping about loudly suddenly quietened down and whispered about. They could all see Cheng Yu’s anger on his face, clear as day! And whoever incited his wrath was going to suffer through the eighteen levels of hell!
“Hey, Cheng Yu! I’m going to need these documents signed!”
The owner of the voice was Lee RuiYang, president of YueDan Entertainment. He and Cheng Yu were the youthful leading heads of China’s entertainment industry. It was only because they were both friends in university that Cheng Yu accepted RuiYang’s request to groom a Heavenly King of Dan Actress.
Back then, the two had different ideas in regards to the entertainment industry. Cheng Yu wanted to raise a blazing star to serve as a beacon of light to the whole of China. Whereas RuiYang wanted to aid others in accomplishing their dreams, provided that they had the talent of course. One can’t grow wheat in a barren land.
Fortunately for their competitors, the two of them went on their separate paths. Forging legacies and breaking headlines on their own. Otherwise, with the two of them working together, they would simply have monopolized the entertainment industry!
“You’ve never brought documents to me during work. What do you want?” Cheng Yu snapped.

With an innocent smile on his face, RuiYang clapped his hands together. “I’m so glad you asked. I just can’t help but notice that the whole office has gone silent because of you, and that’s not a very good indicator for teamwork.”
Having known RuiYang for such a long time, Cheng Yu knew exactly what RuiYang was talking about. Tch, that translates into DON’T BRING YOUR F*CKING TEMPER INTO MY COMPANY.
“Fine, now get out of my office.” Cheng Yu coldly spat out.
“Oh! I can’t do that, as your friend I am willing to lend an ear to your problems, it's not often you’re in such a bad mood.”
RuiYang continued to push Cheng Yu out of sheer curiosity. The reason why RuiYang allowed loud levels of noise in his office was because he was the king of gossip himself! If there was something he heard that wasn’t any of his business, he would make it his business! This level of micromanagement was what led YueDan Entertainment to success in the first place! Fortunately, his heart of gossip was shared by many of his fellow workers!
Shit. Knowing this f*cker, he won’t drop it till I spill it.
Heaving a sigh of resignation Cheng Yu spilled his guts as vaguely as possible. “If you knew this girl, and she suddenly flared up for no reason, what would you do?”
At that instant, RuiYang’s radiant smile suddenly turned stone cold, as if his bubbly and joyful demeanour was a facade.“Girl? It better not be her.”
“It’s not.” Cheng Yu cooly stated.
Regaining his energetic beat and explosive vigour, RuiYang started bouncing up and down like a preteen schoolgirl as though his previously frightening expression was a lie. “Oh boy! A girl that can cause you to act like this! How does she look like? What’s her name?”
“Her name?” Cheng Yu mused. I don’t think she even knows herself.
Realizing that he had been pulled into RuiYang’s rhythm, Cheng Yu quickly chased him out of his office. But not before RuiYang could loudly ask, “Did you f*ck her yet?”
Loud enough for at least someone in the office to hear. And in RuiYang’s company, gossip travels fast. By the end of the day, Cheng Yu couldn’t wait to leave the office out of embarrassment.
...
Chen Hua’s intestines were green with regret. Why had he suddenly lash out at Cheng Yu? Why? That was the golden goose that he just chased out! Chen Hua really wished he could dig a hole and bury himself in it.
I still have the charms of a beauty, when he comes back, I’ll just beg for forgiveness while acting cute.
But when Cheng Yu returned home, Chen Hua couldn’t muster a single word from his mouth. He was still a man inside after all! And a man had his pride. An awkward silence remained between the two of them, urging the maids to quickly depart with haste.
It was only until Cheng Yu started walking into his own room that Chen Hua felt a surge of sorrow, causing him to burst into ugly tears. Hearing the cries of a maiden, Cheng Yu couldn’t bear to continue listening to her crying and went back to console her in his arms.
Between heartrending sobs, the girl in his embrace forced out an apology. “I’m so sorry, please don’t throw me out. I need you.”
Seeing the girl burrowing in his arms sobbing while apologizing so fervently warmed the cockles of Cheng Yu's heart.
The words ‘I need you.’ filled him more than any alcohol could. It felt extremely good to be relied upon by someone else. Cheng Yu’s desire to be relied upon by her was instead satisfied by Chen Hua. He was intoxicated by the sensation that quietly filled his empty heart. However, with her having lost her memories with no one other than him to rely upon, Cheng Yu’s heart felt a pang of guilt which clawed at his mind and a complex expression showed on his face.
Fortunate he was, for the girl nestling in his chest could not see him. For she cried her heart out till her tears ran dry.
Cheng Yu cradled her in his arms until she fell asleep before he carrying her to his bed. But when he tried to let her girl, the girl’s hands still clung on tight to his body. Without much of a choice, he laid in bed beside her. With his eyelids heavy with exhaustion, and a heart full of emotions, he slowly drifted off to sleep as well.
Only to be awoken by the girl’s sudden screams of fear.
