Chapter 22 Enraged Dragon (2)

Chapter 22 Enraged Dragon (2)

Melburn Town. Adventurer’s Guild.

Knock Knock*

“Come in.”

The door opened, revealing the person who knocked.

“Hello sir, according to the report, the dragon is currently east of the collapsed mining site and is headed towards here, for reasons unknown.”

“Is that so? Well done, you may go now.”

The person who reported bowed and quietly got out of the office.

“Sigh, so troublesome.” He massaged his temple.

This person is the current guild leader of the Adventurer’s guild branch in Melburn Town, Anderson. He’s a middle-aged man with a short beard, wide shoulders, a bodybuilder build, and wearing a formal suit.

Currently, he was dealing with matters regarding the sudden appearance of the dragon that was sighted in the Abandoned Mining Site, although the place was now called the Collapsed Mining Site.

He grabbed one of the reports that was on the table and read it.

On the report, it stated:

According to our observation, The dragon seems to be heading towards the outskirts from the east of the Collapsed Mining Site.

It is estimated that the dragon will be heading towards the town soon.

Sufficient preparations must be made for the incoming attack.

“Hmm, I guess we should.” Anderson mused.

He reached out for a device that was shaped like a square with a circle engraved on it. He then pressed his thumb over it and injected mana into it.

Soon after, someone knocked at his door and entered.

“Go to the city hall and arrange a quest for the incoming attack, and also prepare our guild for it,” Anderson commanded.

“Yes, sir.” The guy replied.

He then quietly got out of the office.

“Sigh…” Anderson sighed, then leaned back on his chair.

“Seems like this town is gonna be in chaos.”

***

“AHHHHHH…!”

Winter Snow was running fervently—well, who wouldn’t run so vehemently, especially when there is a 150 feet dragon chasing you?

Stolen from its original source, this story is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.

She was lucky that up until now, she hadn’t encountered any obstacles that could corner her, or if so, she would’ve been dead meat.

Right now, she was nearing the town little by little, at least she was able to pass by the Collapsed Mining Site.

While she was running, she couldn’t help but wonder, “I wonder if that guy is ok…”

Just a second that she was distracted, however, cost her almost her life.

An energy blast hit her almost from behind, but it sent her flying forward. Because of the shockwave of the blast, she wasn’t able to react quickly to roll and so she landed face plant instead.

“Ugh.” She groaned.

She hurriedly tried to stand up, but before she could, however, the dragon’s hand pressed on her with enough force not to kill her and just restricted her.

She tried to stand up, but couldn’t because of its hand pressing on her.

At this rate, she was without hope that she could escape.

“Dang, it! I got careless.” Winter Snow said regretfully.

The dragon looked at her arrogantly and grabbed her in front of its face, opened its mouth, and prepared to deliver a breath attack. But before he could do that though, it sensed a familiar presence in front.

So it focused its senses forward to the surrounding trees, and there, it saw a young man running with his back to it.

The dragon’s eyes opened wide and threw Winter Snow to the side, and immediately chased after Lyn.

“What the…” Winter Snow was dumbfounded.

Meanwhile, Lyn, however unfortunate, was just running to town at a fast moderate pace, when all of a sudden, he shuddered as felt the familiar presence once again. He looked behind his back and painfully saw the dragon.

Frightened, he immediately ran with all his might.

But the dragon wasn’t having it this time. It immediately sped up and caught up with Lyn in just a second and delivered a devastating claw attack.

Lyn reacted quite fast as well, as he activated a skill and hurled it towards the side, thus managing to dodge it by the knockback.

The ground tore open as a wide crack appeared on the ground with a dust cloud. A rift valley was formed.

The dragon didn’t waste any time as it quickly lashed out another attack on Lyn, while he was in midair. Lyn twisted his body and delivered a parry to it and managed to fly back with the help of it, but with the cost of his arm being critically injured, while the rest of his body was bruised.

His HP decreased a lot. But either way, he achieved his goal and flew back, and managed to get far from the dragon. Just as he was about to have a sigh of relief, an energy blast was thrown at his face, leaving him no choice but to desperately parry it.

He was hit!

He fell to the ground, his appearance, all charred by the blast.

“Cough, cough”

He struggled to get up, but then a huge shadow covered his figure. He looked up and saw the dragon looking down at him.

Was he imagining it, or did he feel that the dragon was gloating over him?

But he couldn’t care less about that. He was more concerned about how to get out with his life intact.

Out of desperation, he shouted to the dragon:

“Why the hell are you so fixated on me!?”

The dragon was surprised.

It didn’t think that Lyn would actually ask it that or even talk to it, so he was quite surprised. Usually, they would just curse at him or resign to their fate.

Seeing that he wasn’t receiving a reply, he said. “ Stop pretending! I know you can talk! So answer me!!”

The dragon wasn’t amused and ignored him and raised its hand and slammed him to the ground.

He was already in low health, so that slam was quite damaging to him, he was nearing his death, when all of a sudden, light glowed on his body.

“Huh?”

He could feel his wounds healing at a tremendous rate, even his burns and scars were healing visible to the naked eye.

But before he could register what was happening, he was slammed to the ground once again. This time, however, his HP didn’t decrease much as the healing eventually replenished it quickly.

He was slammed repeatedly to the ground, and what was worse was that his face and head were being repeatedly slammed into rocks, trees, the ground, and so on. By now, he realized that this was one petty dragon and it was also the one who was repeatedly healing him.

The pain and the soothing healing contrasted on his body, leaving him with mixed feelings about it.

He was screaming and stopping alternatively, which was quite a weird sight.

But the dragon was satisfied with it.
