Chapter 15 The Abandoned Mining Site collapses

ROARRR!!

The dragon roared, as it launched its breath toward Lyn. The ground shook, and the surroundings rumbled, space fluctuated and distorted. The dragon's breath flew at Lyn without any obstacles whatsoever, just as it was about to hit Lyn, the surrounding space seems to have been stimulated as it fluctuated once again.

Scattered debris from the surroundings rose and flew in a specific order as if it was in reverse. The weird laws of space in the lair were activated!

The attack launched by the dragon was intercepted by the bent space and was redirected in another direction.

Lyn saw this and thanked his luck and the gods that he mentioned earlier when he prayed.

The dragon was enraged when he saw this and tried to attack once again. But, this time, it unleashed its full power.

The surrounding mana was becoming restless as it was quickly gathered by the dragon, onto his claws.

The whole place trembled, because of the pressure of the power that is being used.

The weird laws of space in the lair sensed this, as it quickly hastened its repair and tried to restrict the dragon from destroying the place.

The dragon, however, ignored it, as it finally launched its full-powered attack at Lyn.

BOOM!!!

It frighteningly waved its claws toward Lyn.

Lyn was already prepared for it, as he already started running earlier, hoping to find an exit somehow.

He looked behind his back and saw the full-fledged attack of the dragon, feeling speechless.

"...This dragon sure is grudgeful and hopeless. I didn't even do anything major." Lyn sighed, feeling resigned from his fate. But even so, he didn't stop running.

The full-fledged attack of the dragon clashed with the surrounding area, with debris being scattered everywhere!

The weird laws of space activated once again.

The surrounding space fluctuated, as it bent its surroundings and finally the attack. However, it was only able to hold it momentarily as it was destroyed seamlessly and effortlessly and it flew toward Lyn at high speed.

Lyn, sensing the danger, looked behind once again. He quickly regretted it though, as the sight was too much for his heart to handle.

"Ugh, this damn persistent dragon!" Lyn cursed under his breath.

He ran with his full might, desperate to outrun this tribulation.

At the last second that the attack was about to reach him, he tripped and was moved from where he was directly, thus managing to narrowly dodge the attack.

It turned out that the weird laws of space suddenly became chaotic, as the surrounding area suddenly became so distorted and bent causing random space fluctuations.

The whole place rumbled, as it started collapsing.

The dragon roared, enraged at the fact that Lyn managed to dodge its attack. It threw a tantrum in response to this.

Lyn took this chance to escape and quickly went on to find an exit. He found a crack within the walls, fit enough for him to cross over. Without hesitation, he quickly got into it.

Abandoned Mining Site…

Rumble... rumble!

"What's happening?!"

"Why are there suddenly tremors here? Is there something going on below?"

"It shouldn't be! Even if there was, it shouldn't have been this large of a commotion!"

The abandoned mining site was shaking so hard that it was like an earthquake. Not long after, it also started collapsing, causing the players to quickly evacuate.

Meanwhile, inside the Boss' room.

"The Boss is in low health! Hurry, Kill him!"

A party was currently attempting a boss raid and they were almost nearing to clear it, just as they were about to launch the final blow to finish the boss, an earthquake happened.

Rumble!

"Huh? What's happening?!"

"An earthquake?!"

"Nevermind that!!! Finish the boss quickly!!!"

One of the players in the party quickly rushed to the boss to deal the final blow, he raised his sword and made a vertical slash at the boss. It was about to hit the boss when an unexpected explosion happened, which made him stagger and resulted in him being hit by the boss instead.

BOOM!!!

"Oof---"

Crash---!

"Are you ok?"

"Yeah, I'm fine."

"Huh? What is it this time?"

"First, it was an earthquake, and now an explosion? What the hell is going on..."

"Huh, look! a person is going out where the explosion was!!"

The person they were referring to was Lyn.

"Phew, I survived." Lyn wiped the cold sweat on his forehead and turned around at the party of players, "Huh? Who are you guys? And where am I?" He asked.

"We should be asking you that instead... Who are you? And why are you here? Are you trying to interrupt our raid?" One of the members of the party who seems to be the leader warily asked Lyn.

"A raid? Wait... Are you saying this is a BOSS raid? Lyn asked in bewilderment and surprise.

"...What did you think I meant?" Said the leader of the party.

Lyn's eyes lit up as he heard what the guy said. He looked around and saw the boss---which he had been trying to find and wanted to finish for quite some time, was now in his very eyes. Lyn felt his eyes tear up as he reminisced about how hard it was for him just to go find this Kobold boss.

The leader of the party felt something was amiss. He looked to where Lyn was looking and immediately understood his thoughts. He hurriedly said to his teammates, "Everyone, quickly attack the boss!" But it was too late, as Lyn was one step ahead of them and he immediately proceeded to deal the last blow, causing the boss to die.

[Congratulations on killing the Kobold Boss!]

[You are the first to kill the Kobold Boss!]

[You have completed your quest!]

Lyn got a notification congratulating him on his success in killing the boss. He jumped up in joy as he finally killed it and he also managed to kill it first before everyone did, thus completing the quest.

The leader of the party felt his eyes twitch as he saw the last kill being stolen from them.

Just as he was about to get angry and order his teammates to kill Lyn, an explosion happened once again, as a huge claw extended through the huge crack in the wall that was caused by the explosion.

"Wha--- What the hell is that?!"

"Run!!!"

Lyn shouted at them as he already sprinted far ahead of them—so quickly as well, that they were off guard for a bit but also started to run away as well.

"Hey, you! Do you know what that is? Seeing as you came from the same crack as that guy, you must be related to what is happening right now!!" The leader of the party shouted towards Lyn while running at full speed.

"It's a dra- I mean I don't know!!!" Lyn denied it while he also ran at full speed.

The leader of the party felt the urge to beat the hell out of Lyn when it was obvious he was lying about it. But because of the urgent situation, he could only focus on running.

Crack--- Crack!!

"The mining site is collapsing!! Everyone hurry up and quickly evacuate!!!"

They finally managed to get out of the mining site after a while, they stopped and turned around to look at the collapsing mining site.

"Wow, it sure is collapsing." Lyn blabbered.

Everyone turned around and looked at Lyn.

"What?" Lyn asked.

They rolled their eyes simultaneously at Lyn who was saying the obvious, and averted their attention back to the mining site again.

The abandoned mining site has now completely collapsed---rather than calling it an abandoned mining site, it should be more appropriate to call it the collapsed mining site now.

Just as the players were about to leave, assuming that the commotion had ceased to be; A huge roar sounded in the surroundings, causing shockwaves and causing damage to the players around.

In the collapsed site was a claw of a dragon peeking out, slowly by slowly, it was digging its way up.

Right before their eyes was a huge dragon of about 150 feet. It stared at them with its golden red eyes, surveying them as it seemed to look down at them—like ants.

There, the dragon saw his target. It specifically remembered Lyn, as he was too nimble and quite persistent, dodging almost every attack it threw at him, which made him enraged even more at the thought of it.

Lyn, of course, also saw the dragon and more specifically how it was looking at him so intensely, that even the players in the area could tell that the dragon was eyeing Lyn particularly.

Lyn gulped once again, and he thought, ‘This damn dragon... is so persistent!’

The players in the area quickly separated from him in fear of being dragged into trouble, leaving Lyn behind.

And so Lyn and the dragon were somehow having a stare-out, as they waited for the other to move first.

While they were not moving, Lyn wondered why the dragon was not moving and attacked him directly, which made him quite confused and bewildered. On the other hand, the dragon was thinking about why Lyn still hadn't run off in the distance or done something to escape and was quite bewildered by Lyn's behavior as well.

The players in the area were even more bewildered by the scene unfolding in front of them, they thought to themselves, ‘Why are you guys just staying still?!’ And so, nobody dared to move as they were too scared to be the target instead if they moved.

This continued for a long time.

They were about to be impatient and restless when suddenly new players arrived. They shed tears of happiness as they saw that there were scapegoats—ahem, newly arrived players at the scene to share their sorrows.

The dragon saw them and finally broke the awkwardness brought by the two of them by sending a breath attack toward the newly arrived players.

BOOM!!

"AHHHHH"

Screams sounded throughout the area, as they were hit by the dragon's breath.

The players that were already in the area and didn't dare to move earlier, took this chance for them to escape.

Lyn was naturally one of them, in fact, he was even faster than them; the moment the dragon's attention was diverted earlier, he immediately ran like an experienced escapist.
