Freedom!
Or so he thought.
Because the moment he stepped outside the huge hallway, he was greeted by the sight of a dragon. a f*cking dragon.
He stood there dumbfounded.
I thought it was a path to freedom but instead, you offered me a path to destruction? What the f*ck? Are you kidding me? He began to question his existence as he looked at the humongous dragon in front of him.
Though he was glad it was sleeping or else the moment he stepped out he would have been burnt to crisp without a retaliation.
He stood there, and really just simply stood there as he really didn't know what to do...
He just stood there watching the sleeping dragon, which was sleeping peacefully in a comfortable position and absolutely did nothing.
In fact, he didn't really know how to proceed.
He felt that the area in which he was standing was a safe zone as he was too afraid to even move in case the sleeping dragon woke up.
He contemplated multiple times whether to move or not. But what if? Just what if just one gesture of his might accidentally wake the dragon? Like you know, the air fluctuations and whatnot that are possibly caused by his movements.
There was a fun fact he saw on the internet that dragons are known for their sensitivity to their surroundings, but of course, it might be fake news, but he didn't dare to make a bet, heck, he didn't even dare think of considering it!
But he knows that simply standing around doing nothing won't accomplish anything, so his thoughts were really conflicted.
And so he did what any sane person would do.
He retreated.
Don't misunderstand. He wasn't retreating because he was afraid, it was just because this is what any sane person will do, why would a perfectly sane person like him do something like fighting the dragon? He's not crazy, his sanity is still intact. In a sense, it was a strategic retreat.
Lyn comforted himself as he kept repeating that in mind.
And so, he slowly moved his body, with most of his hands and feet each inching backward quietly. To be more careful; he cautiously moved slower purposely, like really slow.
...
While Lyn was still stuck underground with a dragon. Winter Snow was frantically searching for Lyn, unfortunately for her though, he was still stuck with a sleeping big dragon, with no hope to be found.
"Argh, just where did that Lin guy go off to?" Winter Snow muttered in exasperation.
Winter Snow grumbled as she continued to wander around. She was in Melburn town searching for Lyn in hopes of finding him, but anyways it was clear it was all in vain as she couldn't even find him. That was obvious though, after all, he was still trapped underground.
Finally, she settled on a cafe to rest.
She took a seat in a peaceful and comfortable spot that she found and ordered coffee.
"Haa" Winter Snow sighed.
Just as she was pondering about something, someone approached her.
"Hello Winter Snow, my name is Constellation, may I take a bit of your time?" The person who approached her asked.
Winter Snow glanced at the person who introduced himself to her. He was wearing a black suit that complemented his looks, he was fairly handsome and was suitable to be a celebrity, overall he looked like a gentleman, clean and neat.
"Mhm, sure go ahead." Winter snow replied. She agreed because she was currently bored and had nothing to do at the time being and she was also interested in what he was about to say.
The guy smiled at her reply as he took a seat in front of her and sat down.
"The reason why I wanted to talk to you is simple, I want to recruit you into our group." Constellation smiled as he looked at her straight into her eyes.
Winter Snow was not surprised by what the man had said, after all, there were plenty of people that had offered her the same as well, but what she was more piqued about was rather than a guild or an organization, it was instead a group.
"A group? Do you mean a guild?" Winter Snow asked in confusion.
Constellation smiled as he looked like he already expected this kind of answer as he answered calmly. "It is exactly what I said, it is a group, not a guild."
Winter Snow's eyes lit up at the man's answer as she inquired more about it.
"What kind of group is it? A mercenary group?"
"Haha, not really a mercenary group but you can prefer it as one."
"Ohhh, you got me hooked. So tell me what kind of work do you guys do?"
"We dabble on requests that are posted in our group's request board, of course, you can be sure to expect that the requests that are posted in our group are of great quality and inspected thoroughly."
"Requests? What kind of request do you guys take?"
"Hehe, that's confidential information, you will only know once you join us. Don't worry we are completely legal and we do not partake in illegal requests and activities, we have a certificate from the city hall to prove it."
"Well, I will be worried if you guys aren't legal."
"So are you willing to join us?"
"Let me consider it after a bit more thinking." Winter Snow answered with a smile.
"Hello, your coffee has arrived." Her coffee finally arrived as the cafe worker placed her coffee on the table.
"Thank you." Winter Snow said with a smile.
"No problem." The cafe worker said in response with a smile as well as he left the two of them both.
"Continuing on our talk, have you finished considering it or do you still need more time?" Constellation asked with a mischievous glint in his eyes as he smiled.

"Hmm, let me have more time? Hehe~" Winter Snow was of course, not perturbed by it.
"Ok, I will give you my business card, once you are done thinking about it you can go to the address that is written on the business card and you can show it to the receptionist," Constellation said with a smile as he began to stand up.
"Thank you for letting me take a bit of your time, farewell." Constellation bid his goodbye before leaving.
Winter Snow watched Constellation leave as she stirred her coffee before taking a sip of it and said, "What an interesting guy."
She completely forgot about Lin as all she could think of right now was the offer and her coffee.
The coffee tastes great though.
...
Now back to Lyn. You ask what Lyn is doing right now? Well as you might not expect, he actually awakened the dragon and is now running for his dear life.
Fifteen minutes earlier...
"Whew... Finally, thank goodness I didn't get out so far when I stepped into that lair." Lyn muttered.
"Now then, what am I gonna do now? Now that I'm back here again..." Lyn said in distress as he looked at the huge hallway once again.
Haa...
He sighed. He really thought he was gonna get out, only for it to make him more depressed.
"Now that I think about it, that roar earlier should have been coming from that dragon right?" Lyn said in surprise as he began to ponder a lot of things.
First of all, where was he? Wasn't he just at an abandoned mining site? Why was there a dragon then? Wasn't the kobolds the reason this place was abandoned, or were they just inhabitants after the mining site became abandoned, and the real reason is that it was the dragon that made this mining site abandoned? That made a lot of sense if you think about it.
Lyn felt that this place was mysterious and there was a lot of story behind it. A lore. Lyn sensed a lore lurking in this place as he started to get aroused and excited by the thought of it.
"Anyways! Since I'm already here again, I might as well explore and search for some clues!" Lyn chortled at his enthusiasm.
Lyn then began to make his way back to where he came from, and not before long he quickly arrived at the space. It didn't take that long as the weird rules of this huge hallway quickly and automatically bent the surrounding space to make him arrive exactly at the area where the light orbs were gathered.
"Oof, too bright, it's blinding." Lyn covered his eyes with his right hand as he started moving towards the multiple light orbs gathered.
Once he was close enough to the light orbs, he kicked them one by one making them scatter all over the huge hallway, that was what he wanted as it was really too bright for him to see or even open his eyes.
After doing that a couple of times, he was finally able to open his eyes and saw the multiple light orbs scattered all around the place.
Seeing the light orbs, Lyn had an idea.
"Hmm, it would be a waste if I don't put them in my inventory. They might become useful later on," Lyn mumbled.
And so he did, leaving only one light orb on his hands for him to see. A light orb was only the size of a baseball or even slightly larger, so it wasn't that much of a hassle for him.
He turned around and looked at the space he first arrived in before being stuck here.
"Now that I think about it, I've been calling it space or trap since I don't know how to describe it as I forgot what it was called. How about we call it a trap hole or trap room? or a huge hallway doorway or HHD for short. Mhm it's decided, it shall be called HHD or huge hallway doorway from now on." Lyn said, satisfied with his ability to name things.
After naming the space or rather he should call it the huge hallway doorway now, HHD for short, he left it and began touring the huge hallway.
He shined the walls with the light orb in his right hand, thinking that a drawing on the walls or something might appear, unfortunately, there was nothing. So he made his way to the other wall and sometimes the pillars.
The huge hallway was only a straight line leading straight to the dragon slumbering there peacefully.
It wasn't long before he arrived again at the dragon's lair once again.
He took a peek and saw the dragon still peacefully sleeping, it was even snoring.
The dragon was a huge dragon over 150 feet tall, it was humongous even among dragons, it also has dark brown scales, which Lyn thought was suitable for the place the dragon was nesting, but that also means that this place was even bigger than he thought as there was still space big enough for the dragon to move freely. As for why such a big space was even made possible in such a mining site, it should be related to the weird rules of an array formation or whatnot that can bend the surrounding space. The place wasn't as dark as you would expect in the dragon's lair as there was light dim enough for him to see.
Lyn chewed over whether he should try sneaking. But he quickly dismissed the idea in his head. Which idiot would dare to try? But as he kept looking at the sleeping dragon—a feeling which he didn't wish would flare up at this moment–-aroused inside of him; it was his death-seeking disease. That's right, his death-seeking disease flared up. It was inevitable, as he had been frustrated for too long.
Earlier he was still able to suppress “seeking death” but now that it has come to this point, he isn't able to now.
The feeling only rose higher and higher until he couldn't take it anymore and let his death-seeking disease take over.
Of course, he wasn't that daring to actually risk his life, he would just take a walk and circle the sleeping huge dragon. What harm could there be to it?
Unfortunately for Lyn though, there was a lot of harm to it as that was what happened currently in the present time.
Lyn accidentally woke up the dragon when he was walking around the sides, and maybe due to nervousness, his right hand slipped and the light orb fell off, made a sound, and rolled on the ground straight to the sleeping dragon.
"Ah." Lyn made a dumbfounded expression
The dragon's eyes opened.
Lyn looked up at the far ceiling above and said, "Ahh, heavens~ I hate my life choices."
The dragon—which was now partially awake–-waved its claws at him, to which he quickly responded with a duck intuitively.
A tearing sound came from behind him, which he then took a look at only to be shocked.
The surrounding space was torn apart by the dragon casually waving its claw, not only that but the walls of the lair were also destroyed by it.
Lyn felt a shiver run through his spine when he saw this scene as he quickly sprinted to the side, going for the dragon's blind spot.
The dragon, seeing that Lyn was still alive, then waved another claw at him.
Shiiik-!
The surrounding space was torn apart once again as collateral damage was also made to the lair.
Lyn lay down to dodge the claw attack once again, successfully dodging it with only a little damage. Even though it was only a little damage, it was enough for his health points to go down to half.
"Oh God, Buddha, Jade Emperor, Brahma, Shiva, Vishnu, Bathala, Zeus, Ares, Jesus Christ, please save this poor fellow from this scary dragon." Lyn prayed from the bottom of his heart.
Unfortunately for him, his prayers weren't heard—or maybe it did? As another claw attack was coming at him, he sprang towards his left and rolled sideways, successfully dodging the attack once more.
This time, there was a pathway that opened on the place where he was just earlier. He then rushed towards the pathway at full speed.
The dragon this time was surprised by Lyn's survivability, he was like a rat, quickly avoiding any attack.
This time the dragon didn't dare to be lazy, and raised his head, aiming at Lyn, preparing to launch a dragon breath.
Lyn felt something ominous as he looked back only for him to see the dragon was preparing to launch a dragon breath.
"HOLY SH*T!" Lyn was scared out of his wits realizing what the dragon was about to do.
He then summoned his status panel; placing all the points he had on his movement speed.

Seeing his level was still level 3 he couldn't help but grasp his chest, regretting that he should have grinded a bit more.
However, there’s no use crying over spilled milk. He hurriedly placed all three of his basic attribute points on movement speed.
