The train came to a stop in the station for the school. The brother-sister pair got down of the train. Miraya was literally shaking. Ben was shaken, but he had suppressed his fear with a great effort and was now trying to calm down his sister. He could understand that this was the result of the emotional fluctuation of a martial artist. There was an unwritten rule in the martial community that, the martial artists of upper echelons should not tread lightly among the normal population, who were in the lower ranks of the martial community. They should take sufficient precautions to prevent their power from affecting others when they are in the civilian area. So, this was the first time Ben and everyone in the city were experiencing this. This rule was not known to the general public. Only those of the Martial Duke and above ranks knew of this rule. Soon Ben and Miraya moved to school. On the way they could see the destruction causes by the pressure. Many people were still sitting down holding their nose or ears. People including children who were unconscious were being taken to hospital. A certain amount of material destruction had also happened.
Soon both of them reached school and went to their classes. Ben asked Miraya to wait till his final class so that they can go back home together. She agreed. Soon, Ben found himself among his clique of friends. They were discussing the happenings of morning. Saarsh said “ Man it was really horrifying. Was it a Martial Duke or Martial Monarch?” Jim butt in “ Maybe it was Beast Master Gram. He was there in the city. He must have been unhappy about something and may be released his power a bit.” Roshin said “ What if it was a Martial Entity? With that much power it is a possibility.” But Rais disagreed “ I don’t think so. What would a Martial Entity be doing here. There is nothing in this city after all.” Ben said “ Anyway, it was terrifying. I and my sister were in the train. Both of us were shaken.” Rais added “It was indeed terrifying.” Jim mused “ When will we get such power? How cool would that be?” They all looked at each other and collectively sighed.
While all these were happening the school announcement for first period rang. All the students went to their seats. The final year students were treated differently than others. They were under the same discipline regime as the army cadets. They should report on time to the class. They cannot be late and the punishments will be in military standard. Soon their first period started. Everything was going normally. The class before the last period was Physics. Their physics teacher was Ms. Sylvie Revera. She was an exceptionally gifted teacher and an accomplished scientist. Teaching was literally her hobby. She was working for a well known company, and was their star researcher, who had a meridian root which enhanced the analytical and observational capability of the person. Their Martial Class Teacher, Mahaansh had a disagreement with her regarding the class timings in the staff meetings. It had ended in Ms. Sylvie’s favor. From then on, they had friction between them. At the end of the class, 5 minutes before the martial class Ms. Sylvie said, “ You have your first martial class today, right?” “Yes” everyone said in unison. She said “ Well, you know the friction between me and Mahaansh, right?” Noone commented here. She looked seriously and said, “ I know some of you think he is a weakling and meek guy who just acts tough.” Saying this she looked at a group of students in the class. They were a group of 10 students, both boys and girls, who came from affluent and rich families. Sylvie continued “ Don’t be mistaken by his facade. Believe me, he was a natural disaster a few years back. He destroyed a drug cartel that had roots in this city for more than 100 years in a single night. That cartel had the son of the former president of our country in it. He killed that guy in front of an entire group of press people during a press conference. He came out of that issue unscathed. The media was suppressed.” The students looked at her stunned. “So don’t get on his bad side. No amount of influence or power you have will be able to save you from him if he is provoked. Be good students, at least in his class.” Suddenly the announcement for last class was made. Sylvie bade the students good bye. Soon all the students found themselves in the indoor stadium of the school. They stood in front of the podium on which a man was sitting. He was not exuding any energy. Nor did he have any flashy clothes that made him stand out. But every student was extremely tensed. They saw Mr. Mahaansh in a new light after Ms. Sylvie’s information. He opened his eyes slowly. He looked at everyone. Then he stood up. He said “ You are one minute late. Run 10 laps around the stadium.” The students were stunned they had come here as fast as possible, after changing to their workout clothes. They could not understand why they were being punished. Suddenly his aura flared,” If I say you are late, you are late. Now get your **sses out and run you maggots.” The students knew now, the real martial class had begun.
