The pressure was maintained by the leo for some time. It could understand that those creatures came here to attack his ‘chefs’ and it was not having it. When it saw that they were not moving, the animus gradually began to move. When Jane and party saw this, they were terrified and they ran away. The animus, seeing this went back. Ben and his group were relieved. However, they were now on the defensive. They now needed to take some measures to ensure that no one could approach them unnoticed. As a primary measure they used some dried leaves and sticks in the vicinity of the stream on both sides, so that if something or someone approach them, they will hear noise. They even made a pit full of spikes and concealed it effectively. Then they made some spike balls using a large fruit and some ropes. Soon their fortress was ready. They also moved the camp to a bit inside. This was the second day of the test. They had 5 more days to go. They did not hunt anything after that. They rested by taking turns.

Soon it was the 3rd day. They decided that they will not move much today. No other team had caught up to them in terms of points. They still had 800 points and the second team was about 420 points away from them. They just used the energy gun and captured some small animals. Their number was quite high. They cooked and gave a part to the animus and the rest of it they ate. They even found some useful herbs in a cave. They decided that they would collect it at the end of the test during the 7th day. Their points rose by 100 and reached 900 points. No other team came near their stronghold on the 3rd day. So, on the 4th day they decided to actively hunt. This time the first thing they found was a solo loxodonta. It was a huge animal which had long nose and large legs. Its body was very large and it should have a weight of about 1 ton. This was an alam loxodonta. It had the ability to create large air vortexes around it. Through its inhalation air around a particular area would become entire vacuum. Its animus version could control the entire atmosphere. But this was a 3rd grade threat level alam loxodonta. Since they could not go near it, they needed to improvise. They used its most favourite fruit to bait it. As it was madly running through the forest in search of the aroma of the fruit and eating it, they had placed spikes laced with mild poison in the way. It repeatedly scratched on these spikes. Although some of them broke, most of them successfully wounded the animal and soon it collapsed. They used the beast bag to capture it. They came back to the camp and placed the loxodonta in front of the animus’ cave. It soon came out and dragged the creature. Their points were updated to 1300 because of capturing the large creature. On the fourth day they had a vegetarian diet. They could not find any other animal in the near vicinity.

On the 5th day they went to the place behind their camp. There was a pond nearby them and a large pond at some distance from them. There was some prosimians on the trees on its bank. This troop of prosimians were a local nuisance causing quite the problems for the animals and birds nearby. To trap the prosimians, they collected some fruits which these creatures used to eat. They used an aroma producing herb and filled some tree holes with the fruits. On these trees they had painted the sap fluid of a tree. This tree will remain liquid till it is exposed to some thing solid. Once it become hard nothing can pluck it out of the surface to which it is stuck. This was done essentially to reduce the number of prosimians that could attack them. They had filled almost 100 tree holes. Soon the prosimians came and the powerful ones fought with each other and climbed the trees to get the fruits laced with the aromatic herbs. These creatures were also some what intelligent and poison could not be used. In a few minutes almost 80 monkeys were stuck on the trees. They howled and flailed about, but to no avail. They were stuck. The team used make shift nets and some hallucinogenic flowers to capture the some of the others. They also used guns to shoot down the rest. They took everything. They put the prosimians that were alive in front of the animus’ cave and the ones they killed were cooked by them and eaten. Their points had reached a staggering 2000.

The clock was ticking. Ben’s team was first throughout the competition. Although there was no news of any teams being eliminated, it was not peaceful for other teams. They often fought with each other, they often went hungry for a day or two and also faced other difficulties. Ben’s team had a sense of unity that was forged through many years of friendship. The other teams were mostly formed for benefits. The sixth day went uneventfully. On the seventh day Jane and team came again beyond the stream. They were still chased away by the animus. There was only a few hours for the test to get over. Ben’s team now had 2100 points. Soon they collected all the herbs and waited for the announcement for exit.
