It's a rainy day at Vin’s donuts and coffee. With only a man in a Black leather coat sitting with a single cup of coffee.
“You ok, Steve?” an employer in a white chief’s outfit asked .
“I’m ok, Vic, just thinking .” Steve said. “Had a contact in mind. I wanted to bring her here to celebrate the news of the Metx getting charged and the robots back to the streets. ” .
“ Sounds like she’s ghosting ya.” Vic joked.
“She is an old client with a locked up son.” Steve sighed.
“Oh, my bad, man.” Vic felt quite foolish for the statement. “Heard about the court case. Shocked, they just threw a million dollar charge at the company.”
“ I aint.” Steve drinks his coffee. “At the very least, he walked right in without any of his lawyer's invention. The chief thinks it's a miracle .”
“Is it not?” Vic rests his arms on the long glass serving table.
“ I believe Kyle had to put on quite the performance while saving his image." Steve said. "Wanted to look responsible for his screw up.” .
“Did he walk free?” Vin tilts his head.
“The jury didn't vote him guilty but the courts only decided to charge him for his crime." Steve explained. " Personally, I think The reason is that the whole stunt Nick Tyler pulled. Give him enough empathy from people to bring back the bots.” .
Vic leans lift seeing a giant black truck with the New Haven police logo passing by the truck. “Well, I say I can't blame them.” Vic says. “ Crazies like that run loose for so long without enough to counteract it.”

Steve puts down his cup and calls a number from his lens interface.
“Hello?” a female is heard through a video feed.
“Ms. Taylor, This is Steve.” He said. “ Sorry for the irony of calling through your watch but I'm on my one day off and I was wondering if you have the time for anything?”.
“ I’m a bit pressed for time as I'm still looking for a lawyer.” .
“That's kind of what I'm calling for.” Steve said. “ With the knowledge that the main suspect is your son. I’m worried about how your reflection on the court may sour. Especially since I feel Kyle Allaire will make false claims about you.” .
“So are you calling me to make me more anxious?” she asked.
“I’m asking you to see if you want to partake in helping out with your lawsuit.”.
“What, like to look for a lawyer?!” She shouted with a shocked expression. “I was planning to go to work but screw it. I’ll take on that offer if possible. You said you want to meet up, Right?” .
“At Vin’s donut shop.” He said. “ Will those other people be there too?” She asked.
“They have greater responsibilities to do." Steve voice slightly mellows out. " And now it's time I’ve done mine with helping you.” .
“Bless you, Steve.” She said while looking like she was in the urge of tears.
“ Don’t thank me yet until we walk out of this lawsuit together!” Steve cheered.
“I’ll be there as quickly as i can be.” She said, followed by a hang up.”
“ I need a refill and an extra cup of joe!” Steve shouted.
“ aren’t you on your day off?” Vin asked while looking at Steve confused.
Steve sighs and says profoundly. “ Justice and crime are two things that don’t rest. Neither will I.”
Vin nods as he walks away prepping the order.
Steve looks down at his cup and picks it up. “ The world is valiant and cold.” He thought. “Unbiased with its cruelty. You taught me that, kid. Now, I'll be the warmth you gave towards me and spread it to those in need. May we share ours together someday. ” Steve takes a sip.
