Steve is overlooking the big blue armor corpse of the rouge cop in the middle of the hall. Interview cameras are flying all over the station.
“ Max Kenny.” Steve thought as he scanned with his cyber eyes for info. “ I’ve known this guy for years. Always willing to do the right thing. Guess that's another thing I'm wrong about.” .
“Detective!” Ally shouts passing through the interviewer and officers alike.
“Recover so soon?” He asked .
“A cut too little to stop news so big.” She responded. “ Sending you the link to the website we found. Hundreds of daily videos being uploaded about new hit up spots.” .
“Holy shit..” Steve was shocked to the core. “ All because of you frying your circuits. Quite a breakthrough!” .
“If we're smart enough, we can all keep an eye on the next video upload.” James suggested. “Maybe then we finally put a stop to this meaningless violence.” “Sure, pal.”
Steve said as he laughed.
Ally looks at Steve with confusion. “ I question the humor in all of this.” .
“After what has happened, don’t think that regardless of when we do put a stop to this.” Steve responds. “ They’ll always be another progression towards violence. The
people’s hatred of the law goes far back. ” .
“What is your point?” James asked with his arms crossed.
“I’m saying, attempts at peace have been done before.” Steve explained. “ decades spent trying to clean this mess of a city and yet.” He looks around the beaten bodies of his fellow officers. A hall of broken and injured spirits. “We all persist. Like a dog chasing its tail. An unexplainable urge to keep going.” .
“ The Hope of peace is a long, tough road.” Ally says while she looks across the broken station with unease. “ Promised nothing but disappointment.” she glimpses at a cry of a female officer over a down male officer. “ It's almost worth giving up. Yet, so many throw away their lives in the hope of another attempt for unity.” .
“ I’m just saying.” Steve sighs. “It feels like your organization is native to the actual politics of this city.” The three stare at each other silently for a moment. “Any who, you two here to investigate this mess.” .
“Considering the fact he and a few others have their eyes blackened.” Ally said. “ Maybe due to my experience of linking with the last one. I may be able to deep dive into the officer and see what we can get out. ” .
“ That doesn't mean you have to fry your brains out though.” James responded.
“ I won’t”. Ally says as slightly shakes her head. “You said that the last time and I carried you out shaken.” James facepalmed.
“ What other options do we have? We can’t memory link to personal computers due to some machines lacking the technological
capabilities of the cyberlens hardware.” she argued .
“Of course.” James said. “The coding won’t work. But I just..don't want to see you like that again.” .
Ally tensions lowers as she says. “ The concern is understandable. Since we found the website, I'll make a promise that this case will be the last time to link with people under these conditions.” .
James was silent for a moment before responding. “Sure, just make sure you come back as safe as you can.”
Ally nods confidently. “I hope you heard everything, Celi.” .
“Oh I did.” Celi responded over the audio call. “ Don’t fry those wires. We still need you, crazy!”.
Ally takes a breath. “ First, I need to take some gloves out.” Ally thought. “Then, I need to check over his gloves in order to access his hand port.” She proceeds to flip up the right hand of Max.
“If anything starts to happen. Pull out.” Steve commanded.

Ally takes off her right glove and flips open Max’s right wrist with her left glove. She takes out her long memory link port cable and plugs in. She takes one last breath as her body is frozen in place.
Ally opens her interface and selects the current date. Suddenly, she is in his small apartment complex. Sees him laying down shirtless.
“ I’m calling you based on the private chit chat we did on social media.” Max said.
“ If it's true you guys are doing special enhancements with my augments. I want to meet up.” .
“Meet us down Fourth street road, south of New Haven.” an unknown voice blasts through the recording.
“Why would someone like this be in the position of justice?” Ally asked herself. “
Thanks, maybe with some of the changes." Max said. "I can get chief Ricky off my back with how I operate on the job. I Think I need to stop playing it rough with citizens due to him getting email complaints. See Ya then.”.
“Sounds like he made it on Ricky’s bad side.” Ally thought. “Let's try to fast forward.”
she reopens her interface and rushes through the timeline. Suddenly, she feels her mind shift into a sitting position.
A digital car is formed around her as the window views draw in a digital recreation of the city's shadiest and unflattering town.
“I’m riding on the passenger side of his car.” She thought. “Ok, he must be heading off to get his fix.” .
“Taking on crime on Fourth Street . Over!” Max shouted on his cyberlens.
“Need backup?” chief Ricky asked though the call.
“Nah, I got this. Just a bunch of street punks with nothing but the clothes on their backs. I'm well suited for the job” .
“ Don’t stir up more trouble than needed.” Ricky said. “Got enough to deal with Metx and Steve starting crap. I don’t
need more complaints from people that are currently finding it hostile enough.” The call ends.
Max laughs. “Took the bait so easily. While that pencil pusher bitches and moans. I’m going to get myself woken up for the day. ” .
Max arrives two minutes later at the slums of the city. Parking his car around a cul de sac. He parks the car and gets out. No one is there yet. Max stands around a lit street light. Suddenly he hears a door open and sees a single woman, who vaguely from a distance looks to be some sort of dress, standing out near her home. Ally, still sitting in the car, notices as well. suddenly , a group of people would come out of one of the homes of the left. All wearing masks.
“Well ill be damn. You’re a cop!” a street punk said.
“ Give you credit. You got guts.” another one said.
“ Yeah, Now where's the special enhancements?” The officer shouted.
“ We got no augments but we still got ya!” Street punk laughs. A van comes from behind.
“ Oh shit!” The officer looks around frustrated. “ You little rats. You set me UP!” Max shouted as he pointed his gun. The crowd of punks stood back in fear.
“That wouldn’t be needed.” A deep voice said.
Ally got out of the car for a closer look. Noticing now that the young woman ran inside of her home. She took a peek at her address number hanging off of old dry
white paint.
“Three, seven, four, nine” she said out loud for the recording. “Why are one of them so fuzzy?” Ally could only see a big man with black jacket
with a white shirt and leather pants under . all while wearing a black ski mask. The other was too vague to tell. Nothing but a mess of pixels.
“If you want your upgrades. You got to do one thing for me.” The blurry figure commanded.
“ Like hell I will!” Max shouted as he pointed his gun at him. “ A deal is a fucking deal. Now let me go up or I'll report this as a damn shootout.” .
“So brash and greedy.” The disjointed figure of a man sounded so disappointed. “Cops like you are good from one thing. Taking
orders.” . The tall one and the other punks begin to surround Max.
“ Good god!” Ally thought fearfully.
“Get away!” Max, knees shaken to the core, pointed out his gun. “I’ll kill you All!”. Max shot at one of the punks. “Man down!” one of the punks shouted. a large impact of a punch by the large one struck Max .
“OOF!” Max shouts as he falls on his back. coughing up blood, The gang proceeds to take his left hand glove off. The black masked one pulled a small drive from his pocket.
“ You’re going to help us. Deal or not.” The large one covers Max’s face as he flips up his hand. The black masked man inserts in the drive.
“NO!” Max yells fearfully.
Suddenly, the block begins to look covered in dark pixels.
“The memory is corrupting.” Ally shouted as she opened her interface. “ Got to get out!”
She let out a sudden shriek. One half of the room would hear. Yanking out the wire out of Max's arm as fast as she could.
“You’re back!” James shouted.
“ Did you catch anything wrong with you?” .
Ally , still recovering her breath , says, “ something huge.”
