It's four fifty-five in the morning and the west police department has never been any bustier than ever. Some officers being called in at notice showing up with a few
slips of caffeine keeping them awake. A few are already in formation in the center of the station as patrol squads wearing blue with white striped heavy armor are being
sent to the streets.
“I’m doubling the men and women for duty. So, I'm not expecting any more interviews!” An angry Chief Ricky shouted while doing a frail attempt to
outrun the press towards his office. “The only thing I'm focusing on is maintaining order within this city.”
“Does that mean you’ll be giving better checkups on the city’s patrol boats?” a news writer shouted.
“I’ll make sure of that!” Ricky said, sitting down in his chair diving deep into the smoke shop crime screenshots and messages
sent in from other officer reports at the time through his lenses. “I’ll ask you all kindly to leave!”.
A large group of reporters make their way through the busy bustling halls of the west police station of New Haven.
“Look at them go!” Steve looks at the group from a glance leaving the chief’s office. “Off to make another hit piece. This
way you two.”.
As some level of peace was finally obtained within his signal brightly lit space. Ricky spots a familiar face through the glass window of the steel door. He
gives off a quick wave. “Steve! Just right on time!” A look of sudden suspicion Ricky makes seeing the two GBOP agents. “Who invited the men in black?”
“At the request of every world leader currently.” Ally says as she comes up to shake Ricky’s hand.
“Well, mam.” Ricky stands with a ruling presence. “I never heard of this before. Central Intelligence Agency, Federal Bureau Investigation. How come I only heard about your group now?”
“We tend to only be newer to combating global crime.” Ally explained. “Our goal is to strike down critical targets while under the practices of non-lethal combat.” “No violence huh?”
the chief sighs as he crosses his arms. “Who made this approval of such an organization?” James asked with his green eyes filled with such disdain over tactics being absurd.
Ally notices Ricky’s energy though his stare and begins to clear her throat for no proper miscommunication. She says, “Ex military general Jack Razor”.
“What?" The chief was shocked." You mean the first cyborg soldier?”
“A fan?” James asked while happily raising an eyebrow.
“Beyond such.” Ricky is starstruck. “He is an American hero. One of the few people to help push the movement of body
modification while combating crime. I would have thought he retired after the fourth world war.”
The narrative has been taken without authorization; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.
“He wanted to turn towards a better method of displaying peace.” Ally said confidently that the vibe the silver hair chief was giving off was becoming less tense and a bit more welcoming. “With our low reputation. We can slip past any suspicion criminals may have for our division. In any part of the world, we can decoy as the enemy and strike from within.”.
“Amazing, well, what can I do for you folks.” Chief said
“Finally, some progression.” Steve mumbled with his arms crossed. “Chief, I’ve brought these two here under the expectation to commit an investigation of
several locations. One being a global warehouse department of the United Kingdom based Eden corporation here in this city. The other is Metx”.
The chief is stunned. “METX! OUR MAIN SUPPLIER FOR COP BOTS?” He facepalmed for a second. “I can’t believe it's come to this.”
“It's part of our idea.” James admitted standing by the metal door. “We don’t have the full scope of the situation. Having to meet up with Metx ourselves as the robots are called in is the ideal choice.”
“You guys actually think taking down that thief was a mistake?” Ricky asked as his mind was overwhelmed with skepticism.
“Here's the thing though.” Steve walked up to Ricky and explained. “The thief never had any implants installed. I can’t recall properly what led him to commit the errors he did. But I can with robots.”
“Steve.” Rick said as he put his hand around his shoulder. “Do you think this is out of your league?”.
Steve lightly shrugs his hand off and carefully takes out the plastic bags that hold the gun and the grenade from each of his pockets. “Both of these items were found when the thief was shot.” Steve informed while holding on to the bags with a tight grip. “If he was wearing any other outfit. I could understand the difficulty of having a conclusion of where this suspect processed these weapons. But don’t you think it's a bit of a coincidence that all of the gear is under the same brand.”. Ricky shakes his head and speaks. “I honestly do not.”
Steve sighed as he walked up and placed the items on the Chief's wooden desk. branded in the front with the city police’s circular logo of a bird being shaped after new heaven’s buildings. Steve turned back to Ricky “You know Chief.” Steve said. “When I started here back in my late twenties. You said I've had that spark in my eye. That no case is too much for me to handle.”
“You’re taking on a billion-dollar corporation and pinning the CEO possibly as a suspect!” Ricky argued. “Do you think you can handle this alone?!”
“He isn't,” Ally said as she walked up between the intensity of the two. “We have the contacts and the resources to ensure the investigation is smooth. If Metx were to make a fast one. We'll make sure to hit back harder.”
Ricky took his arm off of Steve and gazed annoyed at Ally once more. “How can I trust you won’t get this place buried in lawsuits?”
“The law has never been afraid of indiscriminately hunting the truth." Ally responds. "The News can only cover so much at a surface. But Mr. James Conner and I aren’t alone either. We got a crew and a truck ready to go deeper beyond the presses for the mission.”
Ricky sighed and stood in silence for a second. He then said “Well, I won't waste any more of your time. Steve, I approve of you taking on these cases with great caution.” Ricky stares both into Ally and James as he walks towards the only half open blinds of his office. Seeing officers in the main hall stumble over themselves. “You two may have the world. But when I look out the window, I see people giving their all to make it right. It's hard to imagine what they all have to lose. I say this to the three of you. Don’t let all of us down.”
“I swear I won't, Chief.” Steve saluted.
“Rest to assure.” James said. “We’ll get this station out of this mess.”
“You’re a rock in a hard place, chief.” Ally says while giving off a glaze to Ricky of total sincerely. “The people are torn with how they feel about the law. If I can take part in helping to fix the city, you and Steve grew up in. would be the proudest moments of my four-year
career.”
“If you mean that.” Ricky says as he puts out his hand. Ally stares into him and shakes. “Welcome aboard the circus.”
