Loot and…

Day 4 Default 5

Upcoming event!

Level 15-20 Mage’s Life-or-Default Tournament

Location: Stadium of the School of Elemental Magic

Countdown: 5 hours 16 minutes

If entering the contest, Mages are asked to come 1 hour earlier to register.

Well, that’s something that’s going to have to happen without her. There’s just too much fun going on out here. Plus, there’s that little debt to be paid. …and the fact that the best Elemental Magic that she has is literally, throw a stone… and the Earth Caster’s Buff, which adds to that, while using less mana.

So next line of business, checking out what kind of loot those Imps have been hiding.

Looking around the cave, it looked like a crime scene with blast shadows of Imps on the walls, smoke in the air, and blood everywhere! But, in the back was a tepee and a fire pit, equipped with a huge pot and rotisserie skewers, with the fire still burning, even if a little off to the side. And next to that, in the corner, tied up to a post, was a dog!

Oh yeah, that dog hadn’t died, and didn’t pose a real threat.

Once the Rottweiler had seen that she was up and moving about he started growling and getting wound up because she was “standing in the wrong spot”, as Rottweilers do, and trying to break its leash. Fortunately it was a steel chain.

KillPrinsX calmed down, analyzing the dog.

Rottweiler - level 11 - Dog

But she had gotten curious, there was that Tome she had gotten from GEM. This certainly wasn’t a small dog, not even medium. It was pretty much her size with black fur and a huge jaw.

Maybe this worked in some way like other classic games. Whittle away the beast’s health and then make it her bitch… or like capture it in a little ball. Instead she’s got a Tome with the spell to tame a pet.

Alright, let’s try this. She used Bloodsucker, draining away half of its health in a couple of seconds. All that happened was that the dog started whining and howling, and ultimately becoming a lot madder.

She cast Confuse, and the dog silenced for a second.

Then, something fell from the ceiling! It landed on the dog and held on, sinking its teeth in before scuttling off somewhere.

The dog faded out quickly and died.

The thing was a spider, the size of a small dog! And it had just killed this Rottweiler!

KillPrinsX screamed!

The spider said, “Thanks for the distraction.” It had a nice feminine voice, and a southern accent to calm one down.

KillPrinsX screamed again. The frickin’ spider is talking to her!

“No really,” the spider said. “Thanks. You don’t know how bad those Imps smell. First they came in, then started camping here…”

The spider is talking.

“Just a small group of ten or so. I didn’t like that, so I started killing them off one by one, while they were sleeping…”

The talking spider kills Imps.

The story has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the violation.

“And they really didn’t like that. They saw me, but they couldn’t do anything to me way up there. They left and came back a few days later with this terrible monster of a dog. Eww! I hate dogs so much, worst nightmare!…”

The talking spider is still talking, and happens to hate dogs.

“So I couldn’t do anything about them staying here. Then they multiplied, more started coming in, and finally here we are today.”

Talking spider…

“The height of the Imp camp in the dark cave of Nadir Forest. A hero comes. On a Quest! To kill the Imps. They didn’t just die, they screamed and vanished in a puff of smoke. You slaughtered those pigs! And left standing was. The hero…”

KillPrinsX stared at this spider. It was talking, kinda cute, a little fluffy, it had big bashful eyes, and lots of them, a lethal weapon that had killed a dog in half a second. And! It was the size of a small dog!

Without saying anything, she took out the Tome and opened it. White steamy energy billowed out and surrounded the spider, flowing into its hairy body and centering in it’s eyes with a white glow, and vanishing shortly after.

You have attained a new pet!

Arboreal Tarantula - Level 15 - Neurotoxic Spider

Tarantulas are known for being aggressive hunters, either waiting for days to spring a trap or going out to hunt their prey. The one thing in common is their lethal venom. Neurotoxic venom will paralyze their victim rapidly, and take long hours to recover, if they get the chance.

This tarantula is a descendant of the arboreal spiders of South America, known for being able to jump long distance and travel at high speeds.

The very large size of the spider comes from it’s ancestor’s association with dark magic, being captured and bred in the presence of magic, spells, potions and breeding that many strange or rare creatures have similarly experienced. While not as big as her parents, through proper care, feeding and presence of magic, this spider may grow to become bigger or more powerful than her predecessors.

“What was that for?” The spider said.

“I’m making you my pet.” KillPrinsX replied.

“You didn’t have to do that. I was just getting up to the part about how I’m greatly indebted to you for saving me. I couldn’t have even gotten out with all those Imp… and that monster. Anyways, thanks for making it official. I just hope you didn’t have any other creature you wanted as a pet. What a waste of a good Tome.”

KillPrinsX sighed. “Alright you overly verbal spider. What’s your name?”

“Nobody’s ever named me before. Except for, ‘that thing’ or other names that shouldn’t be said between friends.”

KillPrinsX thought for a second. Talking spider… she said slaughtering pigs… “How about Charlotte?”

“Charlotte?”

“Yeah. You’re a talking spider. And you just said that I just slaughtered a whole lot of pigs.”

The newly named Charlotte didn’t get it. But she went along with it. “Charlotte it is!”

Now, time to loot!

Apparently with most spawned creatures, they don’t allow being looted. The body always goes up in a puff of smoke, giving coins and XP. But there was surely a lot of weapons, a few shields and even a few clothing items laying on the floor.

There wasn’t much to choose from, but she picked the best dagger, finding a harness too.

And then, back in the corner, was the tepee. She ventured inside, making sure no surprises were about to get her.

There wasn’t, thankfully. But next to the bed, there was a chest!

This is what she’s been waiting for, amazing loot and item drops!

She opened it up… Enchanted Greatsword of Weeping.

She hefted it up and out of the chest. It weighed a ton! And was nearly as long as she was tall.

Despite being unable to use it, this was by far the coolest weapon she had seen so far. The blade flared out at the ends, with a flat edged end. It was a bright silver color and glowed with a faint baby blue hue. The pommel was wrapped in a silver leather and at the base was a beautiful large sapphire, dark blue. The energy wasn’t seen, but she could feel it, focusing it’s own power into the blade.

She held it straight up, admiring it’s craftsmanship that anyone would marvel, not only a master sword smith. She let it fall flat and hit the bed. Boy was it heavy! She could barely hold it up longer than a few seconds.

She needed a harness to carry it around. And, as things go, there was one hanging on the inside of the tepee. She put it on and strapped it way up over her shoulders and at an angle, so that it wouldn’t drag while she walked.

She couldn’t wait to use it in battle. So far her Arm Strength was 5, but with her Skill Points and some skill grinding, she might be there.
