Sorry everyone but I will be going on a small hiatus while I work on editing a novella I have written in my downtime and working on a project that has gripped my imagination. Here is a small excerpt of the coming side project.

Cindy stared in awe as her giant of a dad stepped in front of her while the Boroclops charged at them both. The beast's shaggy fur rippled in the wind from the sheer speed of its movements. The ground trembled with every clopping hoof as its bloodshot single eye bored into the both of them. It had shaken even worse when her dad was running across the ground to get between her and the monster.
Everything was going to plan, now to watch the long fight that would take place between the two of them. She would analyze every moment so she could tell her dad how to fix it like a coach does at little league.
Her father assumed one of the many martial stances she had seen him use during his silly karate competitions and she smiled as he pulled back a fist. Cindy couldn’t wait to watch to and see how well her father would work in this new world and how he would adapt his skills in ways that were going to be tweaked and fine tuned so that he would understand that the world here worked on game logic and not anything that he was used to. She wondered if he would even be able to use a skill. The most basic of actions here in this world.
That's when her breath was taken away. She watched as the muscles on her fathers body grew and tightened to the point she could see each individual strand of them.as he swelled in strength. The veins on his body crawled across his skin like in her anime’s when the main character would power up for a final confrontation. His pulled back fist had vapors of greenish gold energy wafting from it as she heard his teeth creaking from his clenched mouth. Energy crackled beneath his skin as it rushed to his hands. She could feel the air vibrate as stamina was spent. The ground cracked beneath his feet like when Rice powered up in Drake Orb X.

If her eyes weren’t massive stars spinning in amazement she would’ve been surprised. Cindy clasped her hands in front of her chest and took in a deep breath, her smile was so wide it hurt her mouth as she fought off the desire to clap in delight. “This is so cool,” She whispered to herself.
The boroclops lowered its head to line up its tusks to gore into her fathers legs and chest. Its squeal was full of anger and hate as it approached Dad. The dirt it was running across churned and shot out behind it as it sped up all of a sudden. It used its own skill, ‘Boroclops Charge.” Its next attack would deal an increase of ten damage. Her dad had plenty of hit points and it would only do about thirty in total. This was the most powerful attack of the boroclops and it was so easy to dodge out of the way. Her father didn’t have that option because Cindy was there. Just as planned. He would learn there was no pain here and that it was all just numbers.
With a yell that shook the air she watched her father’s fist descend like a smiting meteor straight down into the Boroclops’s head. His hips twisted, adding power to the blow as he lunged forward a step. She didn’t expect the very ground to buck underneath her feet as the sheer power of the blow shattered the earth in black lines like a cratering impact. The sound of his fist impacting the boroclops was like a clap of thunder. Instinct caused her to shut her eyes tight while she floated in mid air for just a moment before falling to her butt. She opened her eyes slowly and peeked out of them.
Her jaw dropped. The Boroclops lay motionless on the ground, great golden cracks of light spiderwebbed across its forehead and body as motes of golden energy trailed into the sky. The black lines of broken earth faded into nothing as the world corrected itself like it always did when she messed with stuff.
Words fell out of her mouth as she looked at the scene, “One Strike Guy…”
Then her dad collapsed.
