We left the town, going east in order to check up on a person of interest, one of the several Scourge Wardens still alive besides me. Her name is Arikan.
She is someone of the beastman race who is of the Su variant. She lives on the plains leading a peaceful life and is a protector of the town she was born in.
The Su variant of the beastman race is fox-like with much more puffy ears than any other beastman variant I've ever seen, they are also extremely elusive, like the nine-tailed variant. They also have the longest lifespan out of all beastman variants; that there hasn't been a Su variant that has died of old age. Even a fae has died of old age before a Su variant has.
She might be one of the eldest people here besides me who has lived millenia. She currently lives in a cottage in the vast plains.
We arrived at a well-maintained cottage and there was Arikan sitting on her porch. She appeared as a child, despite her old age.
She participated in the Scourge war when she was in her hundreds. And the title of Scourge multiplies the remaining lifespan, so her 9900 years left were multiplied. She would look like a teenager instead of a child if she didn't have the title.
Despite her looks though, since she has the title, she is most certainly one of the strongest people in the nation.
"Your Majesty!" She said to me with bright eyes.
Despite being a Scourge Warden, she only has a last name; Tiena.
Arikan, despite her looks however, is someone who specializes in intelligence.
She has networks of information flowing throughout this nation, and even from outside of this nation. Like the two nations on the other side of the Dark Forest, bordering it.
One of the nations is purely made up of humans along with their supremacy while the other one is a mix. Arikan has an influence on the information in the country with a mix and also gets information from the country made up of only humans.

It seems that both countries are having many problems due to the Dark Forest however, everytime they make an expedition, they make huge losses as the Dark Forest always retaliates with high level demons. So, not only do they lose the expedition team, they sometimes lose a few villages and a town or two.
Now for us, we never make any expeditions to the Dark Forest, and any high level demons are handled by me or the other present high level officials at the battlefield. Rarely are there times when there is a high level demon than can only be handled by me.
Now for what I am about to ask...
"Report for the factions in this country." Arikan's smile instantly fades away. That is a very bad sign, Arikan is terrible at hiding her emotions.
"Arikan?" Asther, in the room with us, leaving Feldur outside, notices Arikan's change as she is also familiar with her along with Feldur.
"I..." Arikan started with hesitation. "Feel that something much worse than the Scourge will happen..."
"Please tell Callaly what is wrong." I asked in a rare gentle tone.
Arikan bursts into tears in response. "I feel that something, very far away, something terrible is occuring, that would make your majesty sad... And two other people I feel."
I-wh- "Please explain to Callaly."
"I don't want to see it anymore!" Arikan yells hysterically.
The door to the outside opens suddenly, interrupting us. "Your majesty, the lord of this land is here." I look back at Feldur and see outside the door a carriage that is slowing down.
"We will leave this for later Arikan." I said to her.
"Yes, your majesty." Arikan said while a tear went down her cheek. Her being hysterical like this is something new and rather unsettling.
However, we have to get it out of her as it sounds like it may perhaps be something that brings ruin to the country. As cruel as I am towards her now.
I walk towards the door and see a carriage that doesn't appear to have much decoration other than carving on the wood of the carriage. It is pulled by a four-legged beast called Omir.
