I was gently caressing the only person that I had any connection to in this new and foreign land . I’ve been with him but I truly manifested, since about the age of 5 or 6. I harbored some respect for him , kind and gentle to a point. Technically in a way he birthed me so should i call him father or another honorific. Either way he needed help , my help.
He doesn't know this and probably never will but because i experienced a form of rebirth with him our mana pools were divided among each other. Meaning that the tens of thousands of the additive life essence of warriors, was split equally between me and him. Totally inconceivable , nonetheless I deeply was grateful.
Naturally my disposition leaned toward a shy personality that lacked assertiveness but I wanted to show the same fortitude that he had earlier but I couldn't soo I hugged him. Due to my transparent body I could float, so holding onto him proved easy even though he was taller than me . Holding my forearms back in return his mood stabilized mostly and the angels disappeared. I felt that he was …coping well… interesting
he really wanted to be accepted by the people in front of him but even I knew they were hesitant.
“Y-y-... how do i- no… you can’t really be my son” The women presumed to be his mother said through trembling motions through a cracked voice
Hearing this I felt his body shudder slightly but he regained his composure rather quickly .
“That does make sense , you did see me die after all. “ taking another look at this reflection he added “and i do look like a freak” He said with a normal tone.
Turning my head towards that woman! I was pumped with an immense anger. Scowling like a cat I gritted my teeth and directed my angry facial expression at her. She was lucky that she couldn't see me and I was glad he didn’t notice. As much as I disliked her I rather not have him hate me. Regardless of what anything in this world thought , this person before me was the only thing that i had.
This was too much for a seasoned veteran to take in, let alone a youth. Though it seemed that with my support his fits of tears were over. I was impressed once again, so strong , so resilient .
He seemed much more confident than before though , I wondered what was going on in his mind.
I could read his thoughts of course but I would never breach his personal space. Tantalizing as it was, I thought to myself of high standards.
After what looked like some deep deliberation he said “ your right … im am not your son ”
With those simple words the woman retreated further and further, eventually running away. Leaving the only other male in the space.

“Mhh , no you’re definitely my son “
“Dad” Autumn said afraid to show vulnerability
“Bleh ahh son dont worry , things like this happen “ continuing “ Look i'm not as naïve as your mother , i used to be quite the warrior back in the day despite my looks.” He said with a minor hint of superiority
Walking up to Autumn he kneeled in front of him , fear replaced with courage
His light brown hair reflected in the sun , and his strange air of lovingness was quite the display.
I had to admit he had quite the dashing father.
“I’m not afraid of a few changes .This is honestly.. Incredible ,where should I start.”
Shaking his head in frustration he began “ ugh forget it , Son im more proud of you than you can even imagine. you were born with something called mana “
“Yes , i’ve heard that so many times but what does it mean” asked his son finally getting the answers he sought
Taking in a deep breath he monologues “ Out of all the 7 races mana is abundant but the human race .Usually one out of every hundred thousandth child is born with mana but for the human race it's only ever happened 4 times in history. The first AllFather Maxel who died thousands of years ago , The third Archduke Fear who is missing, Annihilator Dyxersia and the Current TrueKing Abel . “
Well actually he said deep in contemplation “ and now you … “
Standing up he walked directly to commander Hall .
I had no idea has father was this type of man , I definitely underestimated his character.
“Ms. hall i have a request of you “ he said slightly bowing his head to show respect “as selfish as this is could i ask you to please … enlist Autumn into the military. “
The military? That sounded scary but Autumn didn't seem dazed by the fact.
“Oh ? “ even the commander questioned
Pointing to the destroyed city he made his claim “ look , obviously eventually Autumn is going to be discovered. It's better we show him voluntarily now , I could see the rumor of Rival spreading if he's too old and that would end with his death. This may be a far fetched plan but I think it might be better to swear loyalty to the king with the trump card being Autumn. This undoubtedly will cause a huge shock within the kingdom but it is better that we control the narrative.”
“Commander Hall due to your high rank in the Army the king would be more likely to accept such a proposal”
I was astounded taking a look at the man again. I marveled. Extremely intelligent
“Huh “ The commander wondered while placing a hand on her chin “i would be promoted”
“Please, commander for my only living child “
Moved by the message her expression changed , placing her hand on his should she dialogued “ I don't know much about you or your family , but this seems mutually beneficial. I have a child myself so I understand your sentiment. I’ll do it but once he gets into the ranks , he's on his own. Unfortunately i'm not his babysitter “
Releasing a relieved sigh Woodley replied “ thank you ”
Turning to his son one last time he said “ Autumn , I'm going to find your mom and move into the royal city . This whole experience has given me a new outlook.” His smile now beaming
I think i see where Autumn gets his resilience from
Seeing Autumn still looking glum he spontaneously grabbed his son, whipping him into the air and thus sending me flying. Holding on to autumn I flapped like a cape.
“Oh what i would do to be young again” Twirling him a few times he put him back onto the floor
Moving into direction to where his wife headed , he turned back and waved one last time “Don't worry I'm sure we’ll reunite ,probably when your a little older and famous “
"Goodbye" he said with all the sincerity he could muster from his complex parental position.
And with that he disappeared into the dense thicket
Genuine care was hard to beat. Though I could tell he appreciated that .
Now filled with certainty he looked ready to explore a new chapter in his life.
