Epilogue

The Abyssal glared at her husband, cradling her youngest daughter while trying to understand his reasoning of sending her son directly to the Abyss.

“Hey, look, he’s not there anymore. And I can’t really do anything to help him now. His Eye is Awakened,” he said nervously.

“WHAT?! How?! He’s barely 16!”

Her husband frowned. “He’s to turn 17 in a month. That’s not barely 16.”

“Not the point! He’s far too young to Awaken!”

Her husband sighed. “Look, I knew it would be good for him to meet his cousin. But of course, he finds a way out with that damned snake you left as a ‘present’ for him. Though the System altered the thing’s memories, the two of them are quite literally inseparable. Plus, he has a girlfriend. Don’t know when that happened.”

“That’s not an answer.”

Her husband sighed. “I think it was System intervention. All ability to watch him was cut off when he cleared a Dungeon. Not sure why though. His eye was Awakened though.”

The female Abyssal cursed. “Well that’s just great, huh?”

He shrugged. “Depends on what spirit he got.”

The Abyssal frowned. “I don’t think he has a spirit. It’s definitely something else. What it is, I don’t know yet. But-”

The baby in her arms began to cry and she sighed before poking her husband in the chest. “Don’t think this conversation is over yet, idiot. You’re lucky I found our daughters.”

“Uh huh. Look, Jason will be fine. He’s got friends.”

“An eyeball, a Dragon, and a Human. Not the best friends if I say so myself.”

“Actually, it’s an eyeball, a Dragon, and a Voidling,” he said.

His wife glared. “Whatever. Last thing, what about that Demigod?”

“Eh… she… she’s okay I guess.”

“Good, make sure that under any circumstances, she doesn’t die.”

He blinked. “Why?”

The Abyssal gave him a flat look. “I don’t need her mother striking me down, do I?”

Jasmine wasn’t having the best of days. Well, she wasn’t having the best of days for a while now. The Prince she’d thought she would spend the rest of her life with disappeared right after arriving and she had an empty Kingdom to run. By herself.

That damned Valkyrie… Jasmine’s mother had always told her that Humans couldn’t accept Abyssals because they were different. Because they could wield the Element of their unmaking. She’d thought that if she’d found a powerful Prince and got to a high enough Level one day, they’d be able to work something out with the Humans.

When the Valkyries attacked, Jasmine finally realized why her mother was the way she was: because she was right. Now, her mother was dead, trying to protect a Kingdom that was now Jasmine’s.

Jasmine gave the wall a flat look. “Those Valkyries… those Humans… I’ll kill all of them,” she hissed under her breath. “Even if I have to do it myself. And that Prince… Well, he doesn’t matter anymore. But if I meet him… I’ll kill him too.”
