“I will never let you go!”
The boss’s voice was distorted, spreading through the room. It stared at the melee classes surrounding it with poisonous eyes. Suddenly its body swayed before it lunged itself towards Bloody Edge.
The thief, still behind the boss’s back, never expected to be targeted. The distance was too short to avoid it.
“No chance!”
At this time Balm’s crisp shout came. The young woman had been on high alert for this very moment. With a thought her skill [Reflect] conjured a transparent barrier around Bloody Edge. It was just in time.
The ghost collided heavily with the barrier. Radiant Shield was startled, seeing the boss getting hit with a rebound force and flying in his direction.
The tank dodged hastily, causing the boss to continue for a short distance before it fell into a cloud of void energy and disappeared.
For a moment silence fell on the room.
“You have thoroughly angered me now…”
The ghostly voice came form all directions, sending shivers down everyone’s spines. The void energy in the room pulsed dangerously. Instantly a faint violet line appeared between two random clouds.
Silent Acacia noticed the line crossing his chest. He didn’t dare to hesitate, dodging to the side abruptly.
He was not a second too late as a violet laser beam suddenly erupted, shooting from one cloud to the next with the speed of light. The bright, violet light stung in everyone’s eyes.
As soon as the first laser disappeared, two new lines formed.
Fortune cursed inwardly, controlling her skill’s cast while attempting to out of the way. She felt a prick on her skin as the laser missed her by mere millimeters.
Following this the skill quickly ramped up. Three lines, four, five…
When six lasers shot at the same time it the room to dodge became too narrow. Balm and Quickstep were both unlucky, blasted by the skill.
[-1988!]
[-1988!]
Both women trembled as their lack of defense against void damage forced them to pay a heavy price, taking almost 2000HP.
But the boss wasn’t satisfied yet, continuing with the next wave. Liam suddenly found himself within a narrow triangle, with no way to dodge.
“Hehe, expert, this time you won’t get out.”, joked Cyclone.
Liam looked at her with a teasing expression. When everyone thought he would be hit by the laser, he abruptly laid flat on the floor. Three lasers passed over his head, missing by a considerable margin.
Cyclone blinked her eyes, looking incredulous.
“You can do that?!”
“Well, why don’t you try?”
Seeing Liam’s challenging expression, Cyclone become uncertain. But Silver Blade quickly warned her:
“Don’t do it. It can’t be that easy!”
A moment later a new wave of lines appeared. This time the amount doubled as every line was accompanied by a parrel one close to the floor.
“You tried to trick me!”, scolded Cyclone, shocked.
Liam had no time to answer, chuckling while dodging the next attack.
Finally, the skill ended. The boss reappeared, walking out of a cloud close to Silver Blade and swinging his claw at her.

The story has been taken without consent; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.
Silver Blade looked at her dwindling HP with some worry.
“Balm, time to give us a big heal!”
“Ok. Guys, you need to stand closer together!”
The party members were already on the move, surging towards the ghost. Only Fortune and Cyclone stood further away but fortunately they hadn’t suffered from the previous skill.
A moment later Balm activated her spell and a lively tree appeared among the players, spreading a vital, rejuvenating energy.
[+1712!]
Everyone felt the warm sensation as their HP were mostly filled up.
“Jusst die! I am tired of thiss fight!”
The boss, watching its enemies recover their HP, let out an angry shout while swinging its claws at Silver Blade.
[Immune]
[-157!]
Everyone was startled staring at the female tank.
“Hey Silver, what’s going on?”, asked Cyclone curiously.
“It’s my passive. After getting hit with a certain amount of magic damage it will trigger varying effects.”
“What? And the first effect is immunity?! Aren’t you unkillable now?”
“Haha, I wish but it only lasts for five seconds. So, all of you better attack during the time I’m buying.”
Silver Blade’s words reminded the party. They had indeed been distracted for a moment. Now, a new cycle of attacks fell on the boss like a grinding wheel.
“Thiss isss not over yet!”
The boss’s eyes turned blood red as his HP dropped dangerously low. He was just about to go berserk, turning into twenty different creatures to swarm the party, when Cyclone and Fortune shouted at the same time:
“Not so fast!”
Cyclone’s eyes sparkled looking towards the side, feeling that this moment was shared by her and her idol. The mages simultaneously released their spells.
Suddenly the area above the boss grew chaotic. Two thunder clouds, unleashed by Cyclone and her clone, fused with another cloud of pure mana.
Immediately two bolts of heavenly lightning slammed into the ghostly body. Sparks zapped on the surface of its skin. After enduring Cyclone’s attacks throughout the fight, now the mage’s luck finally showed itself. Her passive triggered, paralyzing the enemy.
The boss had despair in its eyes as it was forced to stay in place. A moment later a spear of powerful magic drove into its body.
“Nooo!”
With an unwilling roar the ghost’s body was ripped apart. A few clusters of void energy formed, constantly morphing into all kinds of creatures.
A dangerous atmosphere enveloped the room. All the void energy pulsed, as if it could erupt any second, ready to destroy this part of hell.
But suddenly a strange call seemed to come from far away. The compass on the wall spun wildly. At the same time the unconstrained void energy answered, surging towards the walls of the tower and slowly disappearing.
Wherever it passed, the tower’s bricks reacted weirdly, turning deep black and emitting an aura that made no one dare to touch them. Deep cracks permeated their surface, looking like they could fall apart any second.
When the situation calmed down, the friends let out deep sighs.
“Woa, I thought the tower would explode.”, exclaimed Cyclone while dramatically wiping away some sweat.
“The sensation of danger just now was the strongest I ever felt.”
“What wicked deeds has Kelsnim practiced with such a large amount of void energy?”, murmured Radiant Shield.
“Who cares? We are finally done with the dungeon. Let’s get out, I need some fresh air.”
Quickstep nodded, agreeing with her boyfriend.
The suggestion was accepted by the others, who were pretty exhausted after this troublesome day. Only Cyclone was indignant, realizing that there was nothing left for them to loot.
“Don’t worry, you can take that compass over there.”, consoled Liam the young woman.
“Hmm, better than nothing…”
Grumbling, Cyclone approached the wall and took the stone compass away. She was quite curious about the purpose of this mysterious object.
[Infernal compass of the void
Category: Uncommon, Quest
Effect: Detect nearby sources of void energy.
A mysterious compass deduced through the cooperation of multiple devils. It speaks of their ambition to control the void for their own purposes.]
As soon as Cyclone read through the item’s description, a new message appeared in front of her:
[Do you wish to accept the quest ‘The mysterious compass’?]
[Yes]
[No]
Without thinking much about its Cyclone immediately accepted.
[
[Step one: Show the compass of the void to a suitable person.]
[Hint: Find a highly ranked member of either the order or the chaos faction.]
Cyclone looked at the quest in confusion. She shared it with the party while turning towards Liam:
“Expert, is this one of those quests with different stories depending on my choice?”
“You’re correct.”
“So, what should I do?”
“I strongly suggest giving the compass to Lewriova. Especially as someone looking to found a guild.”
Cyclone nodded while putting the item away. She didn’t ask more questions, naturally trusting Liam’s advice.
Just follow the expert. No need to think too much.
With such an attitude Cyclone was unusually carefree for someone about to start their guild.
“Is there something else we need from this room?”, asked Silver Blade while letting her eyes wander over the tables.
“No, it’s alright. We can leave now.”
“Good. Let’s go. The atmosphere here is too depressing.”
“Agreed, my friend. May we one day vanquish hell and turn it into a paradise!”, spoke Radiant Shield with a righteous expression.
Meanwhile Fortune stood some distance from the party, recording a few solemn words for her viewers.
Suddenly she noticed some movement behind her. Turning around, she noticed that everyone, but Cyclone and Balm had left the dungeon.
“Wow, how impolite!”
The two young woman waiting for their idol nodded fervently, causing Fortune to laugh.
“Ok, let’s go.”
A moment later the party was gathered in front of the dungeon. Immediately a crowd of players swarmed towards them.
“They are out! They are out!”
“What took them so long?”
“Were they trying to fool the reporters?”
“Mirage! You are my hero!”
“Silver Blade, I am from EFG News, please grant me five minutes!”
Met with the overwhelming scene the friends glanced at each other and directly logged off.
