Chapter 154: Kelsnim (III)

Chapter 154: Kelsnim (III)

Liam didn’t care for the demon, closing in on Kelsnim. The devil child was still paralyzed, helplessly watching Liam leisurely swinging his swords at him.

Luckily for Kelsnim, Liam’s skills weren’t off cooldown yet. He only managed to stack three holy marks before exploding them. But the attack still pushed the devil child’s HP dangerously low.

In the meantime, Rouna’ar landed another blow on Radiant Shield. With nothing left to block the damage, the large mace created a heavy dent it the tank’s HP bar.

[-970!]

A moment later the stun fell off. Balm didn’t hold back. A warm energy fell on Radiant Shield, recovering the tank’s HP.

[+3719!]

“Thanks!”

Radiant Shield’s voice sounded indignant. No one would be happy after getting a mace bashed against one’s head. He swung his hammer at the demon, but it was barely enough to tickle, dealing minimal damage.

[-1!]

The others were annoyed as well after suffering under the stun twice. They approached Kelsnim, ready to end the fight once and for all.

The devil child seemingly felt the danger. Shaking of the paralysis, he repeated his earlier skills, conjuring fire spewing ghost faces. Rouna’ar coordinated with his master, turning into a dangerous spinning whirlwind.

But this time the party members were eager to kill the devil child, dancing at the edge of the blade. They threw out as much damage as possible before narrowly avoiding any attacks.

Fueled by their desire not to endure another stun they gave it their all.

Bloody Edge pulled back his dagger after stabbing it into Kelsnim’s back. He was just about to attack with his off hand when the room was suddenly filled with ghostly wails.

Mourning spread from the black banners. Thousands of voices sounded chaotically as Kelsnim suddenly spat blood and looked towards the sky in despair before collapsing on the floor.

“Maaassteerr!”

A roar filled with indescribable emotions caused the room to tremble. Rouna’ar’s eyes turned a deep black. Dark magic gathered around his mace. His voice carried a satanic tone as he spoke to the players:

“You all shall pay for this! Feel my wrath!”

Immediately the demon’s muscles bulged as he raised his mace high above his head.

He slammed it into the ground, driving an enormous amount of dark magic into the floor. Cracks emitting pure horror spread through the entire room.

Everyone could tell that if those cracks erupted, it would be hell for the party.

“Expert! What’s going on? Did you make a mistake?”

Cyclone’s words betrayed her anxiousness. The others were confused as well, looking towards Liam for a solution.

The veteran had no time to answer. He hastily pulled out a black stone, activating it with a thought.

A strange aura erupted from the stone. The players were left untouched but when the aura reached Rouna’ar, the demon exclaimed in astonishment:

“Black Abyss Seal?! How can this be in your hands!”

The demon felt a mysterious force penetrating his body, suppressing a part of his strength. The skill engulfing the whole room, its purpose to punish the players for killing one boss but not the other, was immediately sealed.

The black magic in the floor dissipated, as if everything was just an illusion.

“Now we can fight in peace!”

“Ha, I knew you had a trick up your sleeves.”, said Silent Acacia while shooting his first arrow towards Rouna’ar.

“This might take a while.”

“Yeah. Fight steady, guys. We have used up a lot. Fortune, Cyclone, it’s time to unleash your ultimate skills.”

“On it.”

The party discussed the subsequent fight while probing the demon. Quickstep and Watchful Eye attacked while Bloody Edge hid in stealth.

Silver Blade figured she might not be of much use in the fight. She positioned herself close to Fortune, where she might be able to block some skills with her body.

Radiant Shield took on the role of the tank, receiving another blow to his chest. Out of stance he had no way to block it.

[-970!]

Placing high importance on their tank, Balm didn’t hesitate to bless him with a [Regeneration].

[+671!]

“Since the master died, you all can accompany him!”

Rouna’ar’s muscles twitched. He gathered his strength, beginning to swing his mace furiously in all directions. Radiant Shield took a deep breath, bracing himself for the impact.

[-1262!]

[+671!]

“What are you doing?! Dodge!”

Mirage shouted fiercely, staring at Radiant Shield with a mix of confusion and anger.

Radiant Shield took a moment to process the situation. Only then did he realize that the demon’s skill was of the indiscriminate type, which could be dodged without using stance.

When the mace came for his face again, he hastily jumped backwards, not daring to take any more damage.

“Sorry guys!”

“Don’t mind it!”

The others didn’t take the situation to heart. Only Balm glanced at Liam somewhat strangely, thinking that his tone just now was unnecessarily harsh.

For a few seconds the players stayed away from Rouna’ar while the demon swung his mace as if he lost his mind. Finally, he calmed down, his body slumping while he was taking deep breaths.

“Great chance! Stay away!”

Cyclone warned her friends as her wand gathered a large amount of magic. Under her control it filled the space above Rouna’ar’s head, forming a sea of thunder. Immediately the first lightning bolt flashed, aiming for the demon.

[-196!]

[-206!]

Simultaneously her [Bindings of Lightning] faded at this moment, heaving dealt their last tick of damage, coming out at a total of nearly 1500 points. After enduring so far, Rouna’ar was only left with 5800 HP.

The demon let out an angry roar, dragging his mace as he approached Radiant Shield. The tank took position at the edge of Cyclone’s skill, not allowing Rouna’ar to leave the area.

He had to endure another painful hit from the large mace.

[-970!]

[+671!]

Suddenly a blinding light spread. Bloody Edge appeared behind the boss, using his ultimate skill while swinging his sharp daggers, following up with a [Cut Throat].

[-344!]

[-172!]

[-447!]

The others grasped the chance as well. Bleary Mirage and Watchful Eye appeared to the left and right of Radiant Shield, attacking simultaneously. Even Silent Acacia’s arrow landed with great timing.

Only Quickstep was a step too slow as she didn’t dare to cross the area affected by Cyclone’s [Thunder Rain].

And Bloody Edge proved why, as a bolt of lightning struck his head.

[-625!]

“Ah, Cyclone what have I done to deserve this?”

“Sorry, it’s really difficult to control!”

As if to demonstrate, the next lightning bolt crashed into the floor, scattering sparks through the durable stone.

“It’s time to die!”

Falling under constant bombardment Rouna’ar led out a rage-filled shout. He once again used his favorite skill, spinning around at high speeds.

The melee fighters recognized the signs of this skill by now, all quickly distancing themselves from the boss. Bloody Edge felt his chest tightened as he involuntarily ended up in the center of Cyclone’s skill.

An ominous crackling sound came from above. The thief looked upwards with apprehensive eyes.

“You won’t strike me again, right?”

As if mocking him, another lightning bolt separated from the sea of thunder, aiming for his direction. Bloody Edge didn’t hesitate, doing a jump roll towards safety.

With another quick sidestep he finally left the area affected by Cyclone’s skill. Unfortunately, Rouna’ar did the same with no one holding him back. He spun madly, chasing after Watchful Eye.

Watching the melee fighters escape helplessly, Silent Acacia let out a fake sigh of pity while continuing to attack.

But at this moment an incredible concentration of mana drew everyone’s attention. Fortune emitted the aura of a wise ruler of magic, but her eyes portrayed the struggle she went through to concentrate on the cast.

Finally, her ultimate skill [Conduit of Magic] was ready to be unleashed. Her hair rose wildly affected by the invisible storm which surrounded her while she moved her staff. In everyone’s perception the movement was incredible slow as if pushing through a wall of taut rubber.

But in reality, it happened in a flash. Suddenly two huge, blueish shimmering arms appeared, filling half of the room. They moved quickly, bringing their enormous palms together, squeezing Rouna’ar between them.

The others felt a suffocating sensation when the arms condensed from pure magic passed through their bodies.

[-614!]

A shiver rand down the party’s spines as the deafening clap echoed through the room. The black abyss demon’s powerful body vanished between the two palms, like a caught fly.

“Wow Fortune, did you just catch the boss?”, exclaimed Cyclone with stars in her eyes.

“Haha, sure. But it won’t take long for him to come out.”

Fortune had obvious exhaustion in her eyes. Casting this spell took quite the toll on her.

“Guys, don’t waste this time! Whoever needs it can take a health potion! Surround the boss! When he comes out, I want all of you to send it to hell!”

“Yes, Sir!”

Cyclone answered Liam’s commands jokingly while beginning the cast for [Lightning Cage].

Meanwhile the melee fighters surrounded the closed palms, sharpening their weapons, waiting for Rouna’ar to come out.

Slowly a finger moved.
