A few seconds later Cyclone and Silver Blade also returned. They wore proud expressions after winning their fights.
Even Liam was impressed. Not all new players could accomplish this. Later in the game many didn’t even try as they would receive their preferred class anyways.
“Expert! We won!”
“Yeah, good job girls. I have to admit I didn’t expect it.”
“Ha! Don’t look down on us! We are fearsome martial masters in real life!”, exclaimed Cyclone, hands on her hips and puffing out her chest.
Silver Blade let out a faint chuckle.
“Cyclone. Don’t boast. Aren’t you afraid that your master will punish you?”
“How should master learn about what happens in the game? The old man surely won’t come and play!”
“But what if I tell him?”, laughed Silver Blade.
“You wouldn’t!”
Cyclone looked at her best friend with exaggerated shock. Tension built for a few seconds until both girls broke out in laughter.
Liam stood at the side, smiling faintly when Cyclone turned towards him.
“Expert! I received a quest, called Show-off. Should I complete it?”
“What? You too?”
Liam was surprised, inspecting the smaller woman. But she had clearly lost HP and was still recovering.
The only way she could’ve gotten the quest anyways is by having a sufficient charisma stat.
Are those two just lucky or is something else going on?
Liam was confused but he answered Cyclone quickly:
“You can do it if you have some free time, but you need to reach another novice village. This will take some time.”
“Good. I will keep it in mind.”
Silver Blade listened quietly before injecting herself:
“Mirage, we got our classes. Can we do the other quest now?”
“Not quite. Although we have our classes, we haven’t made use of them yet.
Every time you switch classes you will be allowed to relocate your attributes. This will help you to make the best of your skills.”
“Ahh, makes sense. Any tips?”
“Sure. For you, Cyclone. You want to focus on INT with a few points in AGI. It will improve your damage and give you a slight increase in mobility, which is important for mastering Flash Step.
Your secondaries should mainly be haste and source, eventually some dexterity. I think it’s useful for lighting mages.
While you, Silver Blade, want STR and some AGI.
And as a tank you naturally focus on constitution and defense. Since you chose nephilim as a race, you have bonus against holy and dark magic. Thus, I would recommend you specialize as a magic tank.”
Silver Blade and Cyclone looked at each other, somewhat uncertain.
“I know it can be a bit much at first. Maybe try around for a bit and see how your stats change. As long as you don’t press confirm, nothing is set in stone.
You can also always seek out the place where you got your class from to get some recommendations.
Right now, this would be the instructors.”
Even while talking Liam confidently adjusted his own attributes. His status quickly changed.

Liam’s new distribution was quite peculiar. He planned to dodge magical damage and partially tank physical damage.
Only someone with high confidence would decide to do so. After all it was hard to judge every spell on the fly. Even mages could cast spells which resulted in physical damage.
But obviously Liam was confident enough in his skills. He didn’t even bat an eyelid, advising Silver Blade and Cyclone at the same time.
With the veteran’s help the two women soon had an advanced understanding of attributes.
Their layouts were quickly finished, allowing them to tap into the advantages of their classes.
Naturally the various classes had their own advantages and disadvantages.
Warriors for example could wear most shields and heavy armors but were barred from donning mage robes.
At the same time, they received one extra point in STR all five levels.
After learning more about their classes, the women understood the different playstyles. Now, they were eager to get out and fight some monsters.
Silver Blade and Cyclone looked at Liam with eager faces. The young man didn’t dare to hold them back anymore. He hurried up as he showed them one last trick.
If a player with a class talked to their instructor again, they could buy a basic set of equipment for only one copper.
The women smiled as they inspected their new weapons. Silver Blade received a shield, sword, and medium armor, while Cyclone got a robe and wand.
Meanwhile Liam also took a look at his sword.
[Basic Iron Sword
Category: Common
Level requirement: 1
Attack Damage: 5-6
Attack Speed: 0,7
The most basic sword a warrior can get. Nevertheless, a trusty companion.]
Liam nodded as this weapon was no different than he remembered. As a white item, indicating its common quality, there wasn’t much it could offer.
Only from green-magic quality on could equipment provide extra effects.
The same was true for Liam’s armor. He received basic boots, pants, chest armor, helmet, and gloves. All of them offered some defense and had varying influence on his movement speed.
After equipping everything the trio was finally ready to go. The women couldn’t wait any longer, hurrying towards the eastern gate.
On the way many eyes turned towards them. A few people stopped them to ask where the equipment was from.
But Silver Blade and Cyclone only looked at each other and chuckled. They didn’t answer, uncertain if Bleary Mirage planned to make this information public.
Meanwhile, Liam felt an unfamiliar feeling. It was strange not being the center of attention.
However, with his ordinary face he paled next to the two cute girls, whose appearance was embellished by playing as nephilim. Even if he also wore armor, he would at most draw some jealous gazes.
Liam could only ignore them.
When the trio reached the eastern gate, they saw many eager players going out to explore the dense tropical forest.
Even the women felt some pity as they realized that these players would probably have a hard time.
By now the town slowly began to fill up. Outside, the information about the game’s launch began spreading, causing a huge commotion.
The space around the eastern gate was even somewhat cramped, causing Silver Blade and Cyclone to sigh in relief as they left the town behind.
The smaller woman turned towards Liam.
“Ok, take the lead, mister expert.”
“What? From the way you ran I thought you knew where to go.”
“Ehh you’re talking too much.”
Silver Blade chuckled as she added:
“If we knew the way, we wouldn’t have asked for help.”
“Don’t say that.”, disagreed Bleary Mirage. “You would’ve still asked after reviving from the graveyard.”
Cyclone cocked her head mischievously:
“Pff, how strong can a few rabbits be?”
“Not that strong. But the difficulty lies in singling them out.”
Silver Blade and Cyclone pondered for a second before nodding.
Taking a step back they signaled Liam to finally go ahead. The latter didn’t delay. He walked along the broader dirt road paved through the forest by the local merchants.
Soon, a few voices could be heard around them. A notification popped up, signaling that the trio had left the vicinity of the town.
[Discovered Outer Forest. Reward: 10EXP]
[EXP: 10/100]
While Liam was more interested in the reward, his companions had a twinkling of joy in their eyes. Although they just left the town they discovered the fun of exploration for the first time.
In Liam’s old life there were many players who made it their goal to travel all of Crunaboul. Liam was one of them, but he only did it for the precious achievement.
However, looking into Silver Blade’s especially interested eyes, Liam felt as if he might have missed out on something.
At this moment two young men arrived from behind their backs.
They were just about to overtake them when they noticed the trio’s equipment, prompting them to stop.
“Wow guys! You already got equipment?”
“Sure! Nothing special.”, answered Cyclone with her head held high.
“Great! You must be experts! Are you willing to help us take revenge?”
“Revenge? Against whom? Are there already people killing other players?”
“No. Not players! It’s those damn wolves blocking the road up ahead! Come, we will show you.
While Cyclone was interested, Silver Blade was indecisive, eyeing Liam.
“Those wolves are indeed in the way. We can take a look.”
“Good, good. Thanks. I’m Talin by the way!”
“And I’m Malin! We are brothers.”
The two brothers talked enthusiastically as they led the way.
Soon the group caught up with a small crowd. Many of them stood together, discussing.
In front of their eyes a few players were trying to get rid of a pack of wolves.
But the mobs were level 5, not something the current players could fight.
Thus, many were forced to return from the graveyard in the novice village, becoming vigilant.
