I slowly woke up, an absolute pounding headache in my head. I groaned in pain as my body screamed in protest at the slight movement. It was incredibly sore. I slowly opened my eyes, I was blinded by a bright light. It was like I was staring at the sun point blank.
I groaned and closed my eyes as I felt hands settle on my right arm. My right arm was the least sore part of my body.
“Don’t move Kami” I heard Naruto say to my right and then the memories came back. God KIsame had kicked my arse. It showed how far I had to go before I could compete with the Akatsuki members.
I slowly opened my eyes, blinking as I let them adjust to the light. I saw Naruto and Sasuke standing at each side of my bed. I was in the hospital, I looked out of the window in my peripheral vision. I was back in Konoha.
“How long was I out?” I asked in a hoarse voice. “About 6 days,” Sasuke said with a smile. “Can I get some water?” I asked and Naruto nodded as he ran out of the room. I was on my own in the room. It was rare to get a private room so I was happy about that.
“Shouldn’t you two be at the Academy?” I said to Sasuke with a frown. He simply gave me an unimpressed glare as he gestured sarcastically at my body.
I smirked at him “what you think i’m hurt? I could get up right now and kick your arse. You’re lucky I can’t be bothered” I said with a small chuckle, I couldn't really muster anything else.
“OH!” Sasuke said as he seemed to remember something, he leaned in and whispered to me “don’t worry about that eye, we took it from your body and hid it in the apartment so it’s safe” Sasuke said and I gave him a thankful look.
Soon Naruto came back with a glass of water and a nurse. I drank the water carefully as the nurse went about asking me questions. It took about an hour before the room was occupied by more people.
Naruto and Sasuke stood at each side of my bed protectively. Tsunade, Shizune and Hiruzen all stood at the end of my bed. My body was covered in casts so I could really only move my head. I could move but it’d be a very bad idea to do so.
Hiruzen was looking at me with actual annoyance on his face. There were very few times he showed anger or frustration. It was a very rare occurrence and it had thrown Naruto and Sasuke off but they soon stood their ground.
“Tsunade told me what you asked her. The Anbu did as well. I had asked them to monitor you no matter what you said because you tend to get in trouble. They heard everything you said” Hiruzen admitted and narrowed my eyes. Sasuke and Naruto both did as well.
Naruto was about to explode in anger but I shut him up “Naruto, Sasuke. Leave'' I said firmly. Both turned to me in protest but I gave them a firm glare “go. I’ll be fine. I have some choice words to speak and I don’t want either of you to hear, go home and look after it” I said with a firm, pleading look.
They soon relented and left knowing what I was referring to. As soon as I was sure they were gone I stared at Hiruzen.
“Tsunade, Shizune could you two please wait outside? I need to speak with Kami” Hiruzen asked and they soon left. Hiruzen walked over and sat on a chair beside my bed as the calm and collected old man that he usually was dropped.
He looked tired, he looked up at me and asked “why don’t you trust me?” he said with a frustrated tone “I promised your parents that i’d protect you. You should’ve come and told me about Itachi” he said as he frowned at me.
Soon the old man I knew came back and he looked furious as he waited for my answer.
I sighed “fine then. You want to know why I'm so secretive. I'll tell you” I fixed a fierce stare on him.
Hiruzen’s POV
“Fine then. You want to know why I'm so secretive. I'll tell you” Kami said as he stared at me. The fierceness in his eyes threw me off a bit. I cared for the boy like he was my own grandson and it hurt deeply to find out how much he was keeping from me.
“Firstly, why did you never tell me who my parents were?” Kami said with a frown. Something threw me off at how that was worded like he knew who they were but that was impossible.
“You know why, their enemies-” He cut me off as he sighed “YEA I know how strong they are. My parents made a lot of enemies but I don’t care about that” he said with an annoyed look.
I looked at him in surprise “Kami do you know who they are?” I asked as I gave the boy a surprised look.
“Minato Namikaze and Kushina Uzumaki. The fourth Hokage and the previous Jinchuriki of the Nine Tails” he said and I actually reeled in surprise at that. He scoffed at my reaction.
“Oh please, it's obvious. Look at me and then look at Kushina. Look at Naruto and then look at Minato. We look alike. Not to mention the dates of their deaths and our births line up. Our last name is Uzumaki for fucks sake” Kami explained in frustration. His anger just seemed to rise as he started ranting.
“You want to know why I don’t tell you anything? One word: Itachi. The village ordered Itachi to kill his clan. The village was the reason Sasuke no longer has his family. I cared for Mikoto, I cared for Sasuke, I cared for Itachi. This village tore apart those relations.
It murdered an innocent woman. Made a boy an orphan and forced a teen to flee his home and probably did immeasurable damage to his mind. And yet the man who went behind your back and ordered a clan to be massacred is not only alive but still walking around free.
Danzo Shimura should be dead. Not only that you didn’t tell me that a fucking murderous beast lived inside me. Luckily I managed to calm Kurama down and gain his cooperation but what about Naruto. He can’t do that. He has to suffer with a tailed beast that hates his guts.
You want to know why I don’t trust this village's government, that’s why” he let out a tired sigh as he looked away from me. His fierce glare being replaced with a tired look “I trust you as a person. You’re kind and you care about this village, about Naruto and Sasuke. But I can't trust the Hokage. You have a duty to this village and I can’t trust you with all I know because of that” He admitted with a look of guilt as he looked at the window.
I was on the other side of the bed, he couldn’t face me as he admitted that.
“Then I have failed in my job” I said with a soft voice. Kami looked over at me in surprise. He flinched as our eyes locked. I stared at him in determination.
“Kushina made me promise I'd protect you two. That woman was terrifying. She could make even the strongest man in the village fear her. Those two were great people and I’m sorry you’ll never get to meet them.
If you can’t trust me then I haven’t kept my promise. I’ve failed. I failed to save your parents and I failed you. But listen to me Kami” I said as I stared at the boy.
“I don’t care what it takes. I care for you and one day you’ll understand exactly how much” I said as I let out a sigh and walked over to the door. I stopped as I looked back at the boy. He was staring at me in shock.
“Oh also, Sasuke and Naruto are funny. They hid the Mangekyo in Naruto’s pillowcase. I’ve personally put it in a safe place. I’ve had Tusande put it into some new solution to preserve it. As soon as you are healed and Tsunade believes you are in good enough shape then i’ll have her implant it for you” I turned and went to leave but stopped as a voice reached my ears.
“Thanks” Kami said in a soft tone “and for what it’s worth I’m sorry” he said in a sad tone. I slowly turned back to him, seeing him staring at his chest with a tear in his eyes. I felt a tear roll down my cheek as I saw the boy “You shouldn’t apologise” I said before I turned and left. I composed myself as I stood on the other side of the closed door for a few seconds.
I then told Tsunade and Shizune to give Kami about 20 minutes before I left to tell Naruto and Sasuke that they can visit tomorrow before returning to the Hokage Tower.
Kami Uzumaki’s POV - 3 Months Later
I stared at the mirror with a massive grin on my face. My right violet eye shined with glee as I stared at my left eye. The eye was a black and red Sharingan with three Tomoe around it.
It took me about 1 month to heal with the help of Kurama. It took another 2 months of intense physical training with Tsunade until she believed I was strong enough physically.
I was still in the hospital when our birthday came. Naruto and Sasuke tried to spend the entire day in my room but I forced them to go out with their friends. They ended up going to Shikamaru’s house and his parents threw a party for Naruto. I knew he was sad I wasn’t there but I just told him I'd thrown an amazing one next year for us.
I was alone in my room. After the surgery to implant my eye, I was kept in the hospital for observation. Luckily I was an Uzuamki and a Jinchuriki of the Nine Tails. My life force and chakra was immense. Not as much as Naruto since he was an Ashura Reincarnate.
I was still powerful and so I could keep the Sharingan up all day but the mental exhaustion from it was immense. FOr now I just trained two hours with it every day doing all sorts of tasks to get used to it.
Otherwise I had it covered like Kakashi. Using my headband since it was convenient. I was already getting used to the drain from it. I hadn’t even tried accessing the Mangekyo yet and I didn’t intend to for a while. I had finally acquired a Mangekyo and now I had taken my first step on the path to the top.
Yagura stayed in Konoha. I was unsure as to why he was here. Not only was Tsunade being trained to take the position of Hokage but The fourth Mizukage was here.
I am incredibly confused. I had no clue what was going on, if so much was already different then could I rely on my knowledge. Those Jonin ninja that had the Akatsuki symbol on their uniform are one thing.
The Akatsuki don’t seem to have changed massively, Deidara, Itachi, Kisame and Sasori were all there so those members hadn’t changed.
I let out a sigh as I walked slowly towards the Uchiha Compound. I had my hands holding the back of my head as I walked along. My headband was down covering my left eye.
I had finally been cleared to start training again and so Naruto and Sasuke had basically begged me to come help their little group train. I wasn’t really that bothered by it. I could practise using the Sharingan so it wasn’t a problem.
I also didn’t have to hide the fact I had it, I’m pretty sure Hiruzen had told certain people to keep away from me. And no civilians bothered me anymore, pretty sure they were scared of me.
I wasn’t as nice as Naruto so I tended to just deal with any nuisances quickly and efficiently. For example I had gotten some groceries and was walking home and some guy attempted to kick one of the bags in my hands.
I dodged and swept him off his feet. I was already casualing walking away as he embarrassedly climbed to his feet. People seemed to forget I was a ninja. I didn’t really care either way.
I arrived at the Uchiha Compound. The land is unused. It isn't needed so as of right now the Uchiha Compound is barren. No one lives there. Not sure why they didn’t repurpose it, I know Sasuke wouldn’t care that much as long as they left certain parts of the compound alone.
For example the massive training ground I was currently walking towards. It was a large field. There was an agility obstacle course off to the right side and about 4 sparring arenas to the right and in the middle is a range for Shuriken and Kunai practise.
This was where most of the Uchiha Clan kids did their weekend training whilst in the academy.
I saw a big group gathered around one of the arenas. Around the arena were Hinata, Shikamaru, Sakura, Ino, Choji, Shino and Kiba. And currently sparring inside the ring was Naruto and Sasuke.
Naruto had the advantage in stamina but Sasuke had the advantage in skill. The fight was quite even though. Naruto has had Taijutsu training so he was able to keep up but he was being pushed back ever so slowly. Sasuke would end up winning if Naruto doesn’t change anything.
It took about 3 minutes of back and forth strikes before Sasuke won and Naruto gave up. Honestly I was disappointed. They did this training everyday after the academy. These spars are horrible. All they are doing is just hitting each other until one of them gives up.
I watched Naruto and Sasuke leave the ring, they immediately saw me and waved at me as I walked up with my hands in my pockets.
“What the hell was that?” I asked them with a raised eyebrow.
“I was cool right?” Naruto said with a massive grin as he mimicked punching the air. I frowned in annoyance “did you forget everything Gelko taught you?” I asked as I narrowed my eyes at him.
He blinked in confusion “I tried to tell him” Sasuke said with a shrug. Sasuke knew what I was talking about but he wasn’t any better, he flinched a little as my disapproving glare moved to him.
“You both aren’t using your full strength. Naruto, your technique is horrid. You aren’t putting all of your weight into your blows thus not maximising your strength. And Sasuke you have the technique but you have no clue how to use it, you aren’t making use of every part of your body. You stay in one place and just counter and attack Naruto” I said with a glare at them both as they suddenly looked a lot less enthusiastic.
“You asked me to come down here and help so that’s what I’ll do. Firstly please tell me you haven’t been doing spars like this the entire time right?” I asked.
Sasuke looked a bit sheepish as he nodded and I groaned in annoyance.
“Okay what are spars?” I asked the two boys as I looked at each of them with a questioning look.
“They are friendly fights to test your skills,” Sasuke said as he gave me a nervous look.
“Yes but that’s not what you are doing. Spars are to practise your skills without the fear of death. Out in the world, on missions. Most of the time it’s kill or be killed. Spars allow you to use your full power in a safe environment” I said to them. They both nodded seemingly happy that I was helping them.
I looked over at the others, they were all staring at us three with questioning looks “Naruto, Sasuke why is your brother here?” Choji asked as he walked over and stuck his hand out.
I nodded to him as I shook his hand. Naruto gestured toward me as he faced the group “Kami has agreed to take some time out of his busy schedule to help us train” he said with a grin.
We all moved over to the rest of the group. All of them seemed okay with it but seemed to be sceptical “why are you sceptical?” I asked straightforwardly to Kiba, Ino and Sakura.
“Well you’re a Genin, I’m sorry but I doubt there is much you can teach us” Ino said and I nodded in understanding “that’s true, there isn’t a large variety of things I can teach you but I’m not here to be a proper teacher. You are in the academy, you don’t need a variety of jutsu yet. I’ll just help you fix your weaknesses and give you tips on Taijutsu and physical training” I explained as I smiled at the girl.
“Yeah Kami’s fought Kage level ninja before!” Naruto said excitedly as he rushed over to his friends “got his arse kicked” Sasuke corrected and Naruto glared at him.
“it’s impressive that I didn’t die immediately,” I said with a small laugh. “Also I have fought and defeated multiple high Chunin” I said as I crossed my arms.
If you spot this story on Amazon, know that it has been stolen. Report the violation.
“I assume you all want to do spars?” I asked the group and they nodded. I moved over to the middle of the arena they were gathered around.
“So I can make clones so we don’t all need to gather around one arena but first I want to show you what I mean by a proper spar. Naruto, Sasuke you two want to help me?” I asked and they both nodded.
Naruto couldn’t help his excitement as he dashed to one side of me and started jumping up and down in excitement. Sasuke smiled as he moved to the other side of me.
“Alright it’s you two against me, you can’t leave the arena, if you do you are out of the fight and if you give up you are out as well” I made a hand sign as a clone appeared at the opposite side to the gathered kids “you mind being a proctor?” I asked the clone and he nodded as he gave me a thumbs up.
“Alright! Kami, are you ready?” Clone Kami asked. I crouched down slightly as I nodded. “Naruto, are you ready?” Clone Kami asked and Naruto nodded with an excited grin as he crouched poised to pounce.
“Sasuke, are you ready?” Clone Kami asked and he simply nodded as he dropped into the Uchiha Interceptor Fist Style.
“Then fight!” Clone Kami said. Both of the boys rushed me immediately as they dashed at me from both sides. I smirked, Sasuke was going for a straight punch and Naruto was going for a right side kick, they were way too telegraphed.
I rushed Sasuke and slipped under his hastily thrown punch as I slammed a fist into his stomach before I grabbed the black haired boy and threw him in the direction of Naruto.
Naruto had already thrown his attack and Sasuke stumbled into the path of Naruto’s kick. Naruto’s foot slammed into Sasuke’s side sending him stumbling off to the side.
I used Sasuke as a distraction as I rushed Naruto. I slammed three quick punches to his stomach, chin and chest that sent him reeling backwards onto the arena floor.
Sasuke had only just gotten to his feet when I appeared in front of him. I slammed a front kick into his chest that sent him tumbling out of the arena.
“Okay I give up!” Naruto said as he slowly got up with a groan. Clone Kami called the fight and then soon dispersed. I then stood in front of the group as Naruto and Sasuke joined them.
“That was a decent spar but not the type I was talking about. Those spars are much harder to do if you aren’t me or Naruto. Those ones are full on beatdown. Now there are two spars we tend to do. The one I just did with Naruto and Sasuke. The next is what I call a first strike spar.
It is quite simple. The first person to land a proper strike determined by the proctor of the fight wins. You just fight and the proctor will call the end when they determine a successful strike has been made. My sensei used shadow clones for it, I can be the proctor” I explained as I made some hand gestures to emphasise my words.
The group split up into pairs, Hinata sat out for the first fights. It was Naruto and Sasuke, Kiba and Shino, Ino and Sakura, Shikamaru and Choji for the first fights.
I sent a clone with each of them whilst I stayed behind with Hinata who was watching Sasuke and Naruto’s fight. She was watching the fight intently as my clone signalled for them to fight.
“Hey Hinata” I said with a smile as I looked at the girl who glanced at me with a shy expression. She nodded slowly in greeting before she went back to watching Naruto fight.
“You seem to care a lot about my brother,” I said as I watched them fight. Hinata glanced at me for a second with a curious look. I smiled at her “Naruto’s dream is to be Hokage. That is what he wants to accomplish. He needs to be strong to do so. I’m sure you already know that of course” I said with a small chuckle.
I looked at Hinata as I spoke, she kept her eyes on Naruto’s spar “he doesn’t only need to be strong, he needs strong people with him. People that he can rely on in his times of need. That is one of the reasons I want to get as strong as possible as fast as possible. I want to be a pillar he can lean against that will never break” I said. She turned to me with a bit of surprise on her face as I smiled at her.
“If you haven’t got what I’m trying to say then I’ll be blunt. If you want Naruto to notice you, if you want to stand by his side then you need to get stronger. He is aiming for the top so you need to as well. Of course what you do is none of my business but if you ever need help then you are welcome to ask me, you are my brother’s friend after all” I said with a smile before I turned back to Naruto and Sasuke.
They had finished the fight and my clone was giving them some pointers. The same scene was happening at the other spars. I was mostly just doing what Gekko did for me.
Hinata’s biggest problem was her confidence. She has the talent to become a powerhouse but she is just too shy in the beginning. I want to try and use her love for Naruto to force her out of her shell. I want her to come to me for help.
If she asks me to help then I can slowly push her out of her shell whilst helping her train. She has the potential she just needs some encouragement but I can’t be direct about it or I’ll scare her off.
Soon the groups changed and now Sasuke was standing beside me. He had decided to take a rest. Naruto was up against Sakura now.
“Kami,” Sasuke said, getting my attention. I looked over to find him staring at me with a frown “I want your help” he said with an intense stare.
I chuckled with a smirk “of course I’ll help you, you don’t need to stare at me” I said with a small laugh. Sasuke shook his head as he narrowed his eyes at me.
“No, I want you to really help me. Hold nothing back. Anything you know or have that can help me even a tiny amount I want” he said with a determined stare.
I laughed a little “sure. I can’t have you telling anyone anything though. Some of the stuff I know I may get in trouble for knowing” I said with a mischievous smirk.
“Give me some time. I want to learn something before I start helping you properly. For now listen to my clones and try your hardest. I need to ask someone something” I said with a smile to the boy who nodded.
I made a hand sign and a clone popped into existence “he’ll take over for me now. I need to go and talk to this person. Tell everyone I had to go do something. I’ll be back soon hopefully” I said to Sasuke before I left.
I made my way to the Hokage Tower. It was around that time so I made my way up to Hiruzen’s office and nodded to the receptionist who let me go though. Hiruzen had replaced his receptionist with someone who didn’t discriminate against me and Naruto a long time ago.
I gently tapped my knuckles against the door before opening it and walking in. I saw Tsunade standing next to Hiruzen as they went over something.
“Oh Kami, what a pleasant surprise,” Hiruzen said as he smiled at me. Tsuande let out a sigh of relief as she backed away and leaned against the wall. She seemed tired but she was determined. It wouldn’t be long before she’d take over as Hokage.
“How’s Yagura?” I asked as I walked up to them with a smile.
“He’s good. He has been asking about you. We’ve investigated Kirigakure and have found what he said to be true. It’ll be a bit of time before we can do something about it though” Hiruzen said with a shrug.
I nodded “anyway what can we do for you?” Hiruzen asked me as I smiled at them.
“Actually I want to ask Tsuande something,” I said. Both of them looked a bit surprised. I had been a bit salty that she kept me from getting the Sharingan for months.
“I’d like to ask you for some personal training in medical ninjutsu but I know how busy you are and how busy you’ll end up being so I just want some advice on where to start” I said as I looked at Tsunade.
She smirked at me before she crossed her arms and gave me a sceptical look “is your chakra control good enough? Can you even water walk?” She asked with a challenging smirk.
I glared at her in annoyance “well… No” I said in embarrassment as I scratched my cheek. Tsuande laughed slightly before she seemed to get an idea. The look on her face seemed to unsettle Hiruzen.
“How about a bet?” Tsuande said and Hiruzen groaned in exasperation. I smirked challengingly as I nodded.
“Have you ever heard of the Rasengan?” Tsuande asked as she looked at me. I nodded “yea the jutsu the fourth created or used? I’m not sure” I said as I crossed my arms.
“If you can learn that in a week then I’ll give you as much personal training as you want and of course only if Hiruzen accepts. He has the scrolls” Tsuande said with a challenging smirk. I looked at Hiruzen who sighed before he gave in and said he’d get the scrolls for me.
“How about we make the bet a bit sweeter?” I said with a mischievous smirk. I had absolute confidence in myself. I knew how to train the Rasengan.
Tsunade smirked and nodded for me to go on so I did “if I learn it in a day. By this time tomorrow then you have to teach me like we agreed to earlier and I get that necklace. If of course you’re willing to give me it” I said as I gave the woman a knowing smirk.
Tsuande’s POV
The red haired boy grinned at me. I felt something in it though. He knew. I had unconsciously put my hand around the necklace not because I didn’t want to give it away but because I was scared to.
The people I had given it to before had all died. It was a cursed object and yet Kami’s grin and confident stare made me believe he wouldn’t. The look in his one visible eye just screamed absolute confidence.
There wasn't any doubt in his eye if I agreed he’d get the necklace. But did I want to give it to him? I didn’t want anyone else to die because of me. No!
I had already decided to stop thinking like that. My stare hardened and I looked at Kami. His grin seemed to grow wider as he saw the look on my face “okay brat. If you can learn the Rasengan but this time tomorrow then I’ll teach you everything I know and I’ll give you this necklace” I said as I stuck my hand out and walked up to him.
Kami clasped his hand with mine and we shook on it. The bet was set. Hiruzen got Anbu to give Kami a copy of the scrolls that Minato had written for anyone to learn the jutsu.
It seemed impossible for the boy to learn it if he hadn’t even grasped water walking but I had the utmost confidence he could do it.
“Why are you doing this?” Hiruzen asked curiously after Kami had left to get started. I chuckled “because you won’t” I said as I looked at the man. He seemed to gain a confused expression before he realised what I meant.
“You know as well as I do that Kami is different. He’s a prodigy just like Orochimaru, just like Itachi but because of what happened with them you’re scared that the same will happen with Kami” I said, Hiruzen looked up at me in surprise but he didn’t deny it.
“Kami has the utmost confidence in himself. I’ve never seen anyone so sure of himself. He knows what he wants and he knows how he’ll get there. That’s the impression I get from him.
I doubt he has as much talent as the likes of Orochimaru or my grandfather. But I can’t help but believe he’ll reach the heights that my grandfather reached. I can’t help but be as confident in him as he is himself.
If you got over your fears, Sensei , you could help him achieve his goals and help him get to the top. You and I know both I could take over right now. We know that you’re just stalling because you don’t know what you’ll do in retirement” Hiruzen sighed at that.
He was an active man even in his old age and he always found himself busy. I doubted highly that he’d be able to sit around and relax just for the sake of it.
“I’ll think about it,” Hiruzen said before he gestured at the papers. I’d finish up here then go and find Kami’s Sensei to find out when he’d be free so I could schedule training sessions with him.
Kami’s POV
I grumbled as I pulled myself back to the shore again. I practised the Water Walking technique for about 10 minutes. I was surprisingly getting close. I had decided to do this without clones.
It took about another 10 minutes to get the technique down. 8i was honestly surprised I had never thought to learn the technique. The method was quite easy. It was the same as tree walking after all. You just had to learn how to control the chakra when the waves moved.
I then read through the entirety of the scroll before pretending to think for about 10 mins. I then ran around the village buying as many balloons and rubber balls I could find.
I got a lot of money from my missions so I had plenty. I then made my way back to the river I was practising by earlier so I could fill the balloons easily. I walked through the park carrying bags of rubber balls and balloons.
People gave me confused glances along with the usual glares. No one stopped me or anything considering they could see the chokuto on my back and the ninja headband on my forehead that covered my left eye.
I moved over beside the river. There was a bridge downstream that you could see me from but I didn’t care. I had found a small clearing that was surrounded by trees. I then created about 20 clones and we each took a balloon. Filled them up at the river and then got to work training.
I already knew which way my chakra rotated so that wasn’t a problem. I immediately got started on infusing chakra into the balloon trying to rotate the water. I decided to start rotating in one direction first and then move on to multiple at the same time.
In theory the Rasengan is easy to learn but actually moving your chakra that much was difficult. It was the pinnacle of shape transformation after all.
I slowly stopped rotating the chakra allowing the water in the balloon to settle. I looked over at the pile of balloons and rubber balls. I sighed before creating another 20 clones. I had bought around 60 balloons and 30 rubber balls. I would have 20 balloons for the final component of the Rasengan.
The clones immediately went to work and so did I. I focused completely on moving the chakra carefully at first. Two clones had popped their balloons. I stopped again for a break as I let out a sigh.
How could I make this go faster? I almost facepalmed myself with the balloon when I realised something. I lifted the forehead protector and stared at the balloon with my Sharingan.
I then immediately got to work again. I smirked as I watched the chakra move. I could see it. It was blue for regular chakra. It took around 1 hour to achieve the first part and I lost around 8 clones.
They all emptied their balloons and 29 of them picked up rubber balls, the others dispersed. The first part of the Rasengan was Rotation which in my opinion was the easiest. Now the 2bd hardest part, Power.
This step is hard because it may cause pain. I have only a day to achieve this as well so I couldn’t really buy any more rubber balls. So we each only had one shot. We had all decided to use our Sharingan, it would make it easier.
I narrowed my eyes at the ball in my head as I started to slowly feed chakra into it. As I reached the amount I could comfortably control I slowly started to rotate the chakra in multiple directions.
The amount wasn’t enough to be able to destroy the ball so I slowly started adding more and more chakra. With every addition I assimatled it into the already gathered chakra and stabilised it for a few minutes.
I focused on keeping the stability I had. I could tell with the Sharingan and my senses how much chakra I had packed in but I needed more. I pushed more into the gathered ball. Parts of the ball were bulging out because of the swirling chakra I had just added.
I spent a few minutes stabilising it so there were no big bulges before I decided to put more in. I continued this process putting more and more chakra in until I felt comfortable to try and destroy the balloon .
I quickly started rotating the chakra in multiple directions as I forced it to become a swirling mass of chakra. Bulges appeared on the ball as I excited the chakra as much as I could. I pushed more and more and eventually the ball was ripped to shreds by the swirling ball of chakra.
The excitement distracted me and the ball of chakra exploded in my palm. I yelped in pain as Kurama immediately fed me chakra. I unintentionally entered the initial cloak as I used the chakra to heal my palm.
It took about 1 hour to accomplish that. I then dispersed every clone and re-made the one that hadn’t popped because they messed up. I had no more use for the rubber balls so I had them practise with what I learned.
I hid my Sharingan as I waited for the clones to finish and for my wounds to heal. It also gave me a bit of time to think. Whenever a clone dispersed I made sure to process its memories before I went back to my own thoughts.
I was actually surprised that Tsunade had challenged me with this. I had a feeling she intended to train me anyway because I doubt she’d waste the potential I had. I imagined with Hiruzen’s past he may be reluctant to train me himself.
Chakra Control was easily the thing I was best at which was insane considering how much chakra I had but It was the thing I was best at for a reason. I knew how important it was and I invested 1000s of hours ever since I was 6 years old in chakra control.
It was easily the thing I had the most training in. Hell, I hadn't learnt any new Jutsu for about a year now if I remembered correctly. I just focused on improving the control I had with the Jutsu Io already knew. The only ones I couldn’t do with one hand sign were the B Ranks I knew.
I imagine after finishing the Rasengan I’d be closer. The problem with those Jutsus is the nature transformation part. I had incredible shape transformation for my age and I was really good at it but my nature transformation was a lot worse.
I needed to start actively training that as well. Luckily I had a wing affinity so I could train like Naruto did. I imagined the village or a certain someone would have more ways to train it. I also doubted that since wind affinity is quite rare in Konoha.
I was honestly quite surprised when I found out Gekko had wind affinity. It took about 20 minutes for all of my clones to finish. I quickly went through their memories learning a bit in the process.
I rested my mind for about 20 minutes before I got up and stretched out my body. I moved over to the 20 balloons I had left. It was around late evening now and I realised I had forgotten something so I made a clone and sent it off to go tell Naruto and Sasuke what had happened.
I then got to work. Picking up a balloon before I blew it up and placed it in my palm. I pulled up my headband so I could use the Sharingan to see the chakra before I got started. Firstly I focused on the rotation of my chakra in my pathways before I slowly pushed some out into the balloon.
A steady stream of chakra entered the balloon and slowly started circulating around the balloon. I watched it carefully with my Sharingan as I put all of the focus I could muster into the technique.
I slowly started increasing the power, amount and density of the chakra. Keeping it as compacted as I could. The balloon bulged slightly in spots but I kept going until I had the amount of chakra needed and then I moved onto the final step.
I increased the speed of the rotation and did my absolute best to keep it contained but after a few seconds I lost control of it and the balloon popped. I forced the chakra sphere away from my palm and jumped back in order to minimise the damage the unstable chakra did to my hand.
I trained for another hour and still found it difficult to keep the chakra contained. I understood why Naruto used a Shadow Clone at first. I had almost gotten through all of my balloons. I was making progress but it was slow going.
I decided to take a break and headed into the village to purchase more balloons. They surprisingly weren’t that hard to find. I managed to buy another 35 and soon found myself abc at my spot by the river training.
I trained well into the night for hours. By the time I could keep it relatively controlled the sun was starting to come up. I had about 10 hours left so I focused and kept training.
5 hours later I no longer needed balloons. I had sufficiently mastered the technique but I felt I was still a bit slow. I smirked down at the orb of swirling blue chakra in my right palm as joy filled. I then rushed forward and slammed said sphere of chakra into a tree.
The Rasengan grinded into the tree before I pushed the chakra forward realising it as an explosion blasted into and through the tree, blowing apart the back of the tree sending bits of wood flying away.
I smirked in satisfaction as I sat down against another tree, ignoring the other tree as it collapsed, unable to support its own weight anymore. I let out a sigh as I made a clone and fell asleep. The clone woke up after a few hours of sleep in which it spent time refining the technique. The clone had also cleaned up and put the rubbish in a storage scroll.
I let it disperse and absorbed the information before I quickly went home and said hello to the boys since it was a Saturday before I got changed and made my way to the Hokage Tower.
I quickly was allowed to enter the office since they were expecting me. I smirked at Tsunade as I walked in excitement filling me.
“Well you look happy brat” Tsunade said as I walked over and put the instructions Hiruzen had gotten me on his desk. I nodded “I am happy” I said as I crossed my arms and stared at the woman in victory.
“You owe me some training and a necklace” I said with a smirk. Tsunade’s eyebrow rose slightly and Hiruzen also seemed to be surprised. Tsunade gave Hiruzen a knowing smirk before they left. Hruzen left a clone behind as I was led to a training ground nearby the tower.
“Alright then brat! Show us what you got” Tsuande said. I walked and stopped about a few metres from a tree as I lifted my palm and focused. Chakra surged into my palm and in a few seconds a swirling orb of chakra formed in my palm.
I then shot forward and slammed the orb into the tree in front of me with an excited shout “Rasengan!” The orb cut into the tree and exploded through it again. Thanks to my clone I had more knowledge on how to form it much faster.
I turned around to a shocked Tsunade and Hiruzen with a triumphant smirk on my face. I honestly could hold in my excitement. Being able to use the legendary Rasnegan was euphoric.
I slowly walked up to them, my grin not dropping even a slight amount. “So was that good enough?” I asked with a cocky smirk.
Tsunade laughed slightly “alright you win, calm yourself brat!” She said with a smirk as she moved over and crouched down in front of me. She slowly took off her necklace and placed it around my neck. She held the gem in her hand for a few seconds as she gave me a small smile.
I smiled back as I gave her a confident look “I’ll make sure to cherish it until I die of old age” I gave her a knowing, confident look. “Thank you Kami, I can’t wait to see what you become” she said as she let go of the gem and stood back up.
“So old man have you decided yet?” Tsunade asked as she turned around and faced Hiruzen who had a complicated look on his face. They had obviously talked about something and it was clearly causing Hiruzen some discomfort.
The man sighed before he walked up to me and looked down at me with a serious look “Kami I need you to answer a question. No jokes, complete seriousness” he said and I relaxed slightly as I simply stared at him with a straight face “what is it?” I asked.
“What do you intend to do? If you became the strongest, what would you do with that power?” He asked.
I chuckled, I understood what his fear was. The knowing look in my eye seemed to surprise him. I pulled up the headband so I looked at him with both my eyes.
“That’s a simple answer” I said as a determined look fixed on him “for a starter it’s no if. I will reach the top. I intend to protect everyone I care about. At first that was just Naruto, then Sasuke was added to the mix.
Then Gekko joined them, then you, then Tsunade. I imagine a lot more people will join that list. I imagine that list will continue to grow. I won’t allow any of them to die” I gave the man a fierce look filled with determination.
“Nobody I care about wil die” I said ‘like I did’ I added on with a thought. I had been traumatised by my death. I had already faced it once before and so I wasn’t scared of it. I knew how terrifying it could be and I wouldn’t allow anyone I cared about to experience it, no matter what it took.
Hiruzen nodded slightly “okay then. Once you have reached a level that Tsunade believes sufficient and once I am no longer Hokage I will take you as a student” Hiruzen said.
That simple sentence was something I thought impossible. That simple sentence shocked me to my core. It seemed Hiruzen was surprised by the look on my face and he was even more surprised as I shot towards him and wrapped my arms around his stomach in a hug.
I had never actually hugged the old man. He had done a lot for me and Naruto. He was like a grandfather to us and I had never treated him like one. I decided to fix that,
Hiruzen absentmindedly rested a hand on my back, still too surprised. Tsuande smirked at the display but kept quiet, letting us stay in the moment.
Soon the hug ended and I backed away before fixing a look on Tsunade “when do we start?” I asked.
“You should go talk to your Sensei first” Tsunade said, I gave her a confused look as I tilted my head in thought “why?” I asked, confused.
Tsunade looked confused herself before realisation crossed her face “Wait! Don’t tell me you thought you’d train with both of us!?” She shouted as she glared at me.
I sheepishly rubbed the back of my head with a smile “well yea. I have Shadow Clones for a reason” I said with an embarrassed smile.
Tsunade sighed in annoyance “well you can’t. Medical Ninjutsu will take all of your focus. I have spoken with Gekko and he agrees you should switch teachers. You should go talk to him first and then come and meet me at the Hokage Tower and we can discuss details” Tsuande said and I nodded in understanding.
Soon we separated and I headed to Gekko’s home to talk with him. I knocked on the door and was soon let in. I moved to the table, Yugao didn’t seem to be home.
“So you’re moving up in the world huh?” Gekko asked with a smirk and I nodded as I smirked right back “yep I’m important now” I said jokingly. Gekko laughed slightly before we fell into conversation.
He had decided to take the Jonin exam and become an official Jonin. He wanted to become a Jonin Sensei for a full Genin team. He was a pretty good teacher and he enjoyed teaching me.
Soon I found myself back at the Hokage Tower discussing with Tsunade when she was free. She gave me a book to read and then sent me home. I went home, made some dinner for me, Sasuke and Naruto and then got to reading. I did enjoy it and I had become a pretty fast reader after I had prepared for the Academy exam.
It was time to start training again!
