We walked with Hiruzen to the Uchiha Compound. Naruto was talking excitedly about his progress so far. It didn’t take us long to get to Mikoto’s house.
Who was clearly surprised to see the Hokage. He smiled at her and she glanced at me, I gave her a grin and a big thumbs up. Hiruzen chuckled at my behaviour as Naruto ran past Mikoto after giving her a greeting to go see Sasuke.
We walked in and sat at the kitchen table.
“Would you like some tea Hokage?” Mikoto asked and he shook his head “no thank you Mikoto” he said.
She sat down and glanced at me “I assume you’re here because of Kami?” she asked and he nodded.
“Kami says you’re willing to teach him the Shadow Clone Technique with my approval?” he asked and Mikoto nodded.
“Kami is uniquely suited to that technique so it is fine with me if you teach him it, I give you my approval. I believe him to be mature enough to know the dangers of it once you explain it to him but Kami” he turned to me with a serious look.
“You are not to teach the technique to anyone else. If Naruto wishes to learn it then he can come to me and I'll decide if he is ready. You are not to teach it to anyone, understand?” he said firmly as he gave me a stern look.
I nodded quickly “I understand Hokage” I said with a smile.
“Then I am done here, I unfortunately have work to do” he said with a chuckle as he stood and said bye to us both.
“Well then brat guess it’s time to learn a new Jutsu” she said with a smirk before leading me outside where Naruto and Sasuke were trying to make two accurate clones.
“All you need is the Ram hand sign. This is mostly chakra control. You have to split your chakra in half and create a clone with that chakra. Because of the chakra it has, you can use it to give your clone chakra pathways which allow it to have substance. Which means it can interact with the world” she explained.
She made the hand seal and created a shadow clone. The clone walked over and placed a hand on my head, ruffling my hair. I swatted her hand away and glared at the clone as its existence ended with a puff of smoke.
I shrugged “sounds easy” I said as I made the Ram hand sign and made my intent clear, I knew all of the intricacies of the technique since it was the Jutsu I found the most interesting.
I felt my chakra half as a clone appeared beside me in a cloud of smoke. I looked at it as it smiled at me. We both reached out with our fists bumping them together with a grin.
“How many clones can you make with this?” I questioned as I looked at Mikoto. My clone started punching the air, testing his body.
“One, it’s dangerous to make more,” Mikoto said as she looked at me with suspicion in her eyes.
“Because of the Chakra required right? I should be able to make more right. I have a ridiculous amount of Chakra, you’ve said that to yourself so it should be fine” I said as I made a Ram hand seal.
Me and the clone did the same “Kage Bunshin no Jutsu” we both said in unison as we created 4 clones each. Nine Kami Clones and one real Kami stood in front of Mikoto, all of us smiling and looking at each other in interest.
“Kami do not make anymore, the Chakra required is a problem but it isn’t for you, the problem is the mental fatigue of suddenly gaining 9 sets of memories” she said.
Oh crap I forgot about that, we all looked at each other in worry.
“Let’s go one at a time,” one of the Kamis said. We all nodded in agreement.
The clones all looked at me expectantly as I sighed. I pointed at one of them and they dispersed themselves. I tensed as I felt the memories enter my mind and the chakra. It wasn’t that bad so I pointed at each of them and they all dispersed one at a time.
I had a small headache at the end that quickly went away.
“I got too excited, I won’t be doing that again. I’ll take it slow and practise with the mental fatigue” I said to Mikoto who nodded satisfied.
Sasuke and Naruto had been watching with interested smiles.
The Shadow Clone Jutsu was overpowered. The mental fatigue seemed to be staggering though. Nine Clones only kept around for a few seconds had given me a headache.
That may be because my body is still young. Either way I'll get used to it.
“You’ve progressed a lot and it’s only just reaching the end of the first month. So I'm limiting you a little. I want you to practise everything you’ve learned so far whilst I train you in Taijutsu, you are also welcome to help Sasuke and Naruto. I’ll also teach you the rest of the hand seals you don’t know.” she said and I nodded.
For the rest of the day I trained in Taijutsu with Mikoto. By the end of the day Naruto and Sasuke had finished the clone technique. They both seemed to be relatively matched in Ninjutsu progress.
Sasuke seemed to be more skilled whilst Naruto had more chakra so he could practise more and didn’t need to rest much.
The next month went by quickly. I trained in Taijutsu with Mikoto, practising the Shadow Clone Technique as well. I made sure to do chores in our apartment with a shadow clone to practise the technique.
Naruto and Sasuke had completed the academy three. They joined me in Taijutsu training where we regularly spar. Sasuke was the best at Taijutsu. Me and Naruto mostly used brute force. We were not good at Taijutsu. I could beat Sasuke and Naruto almost every time simply because I had practised for longer than them and I had practised against a Jonin.
Sasuke would soon outshine me, that much was obvious to all of us.
Mikoto had sat us all down today in the sparring arena we regularly used, she handed each of us a piece of paper.
“Chakra Paper, it will allow us to see your affinities” she explained as she held up a piece of chakra paper.
“Simply infuse your chakra into it” she infused her chakra into the paper and it burst to flames and turned to ashes.
“I have a fire affinity,” she said.
We followed her example. Me and Naruto had the same reaction in the paper. It split in half indicating we had the Wind affinity.
Sasuke’s paper wrinkled indicating he had a Lightning affinity. I was happy I had the Wind Affinity, I really liked wind Jutsu.
At this point me, Sasuke and Naruto were good friends. We had become close in this month since we trained together everyday.
“Okay so those are your chakra affinities. You’ll find Jutsu of that type to be much easier to learn. You can learn other Chakra Natures but that takes a lot of time.” she explained.
“For now we will start by teaching you each one Jutsu. Since my affinity is Fire, I can’t personally teach you a Jutsu so instead I will obtain a scroll for tomorrow’s lesson and you can start learning a new Jutsu” she said.
We decided to just spar for today.
The next day came and Mikoto had four scrolls in her arms as she smiled at us. “So I have two lightning Jutsu and two Wind Jutsu, all D-Rank” she said as she handed the wind scroll to me and Naruto and the lightning to Sasuke.
The Jutsu I had was a D-Rank technique called Wind Release: Air Bullet. I read the scroll and it seemed pretty simple. The Hand Seals were Ox, Boar, Bird.
It created two compressed orbs of air in each of your palms and then fired them forward. You could control their trajectory in mid air.
I understood it. Naruto had something different, we decided we would learn the Jutsu’s we had before moving on to the next one.
I went through the hand seals and I focused on what I wanted. Nothing happened however. I had to practise changing the chakra nature as well.
I tried for the entire day, I felt like I was getting close but I wasn’t sure. I had to just keep trying. Naruto and Sasuke were the same as me.
A few other things had happened this month as well. I had seen a few of the rookie 11 and some other Jonin I recognised from the show around the village. It was always weird to see characters I recognised from the show.
We were soon walking home, it didn’t take us long to get home. It was routine for us to have dinner with the Uchiha and for me, Sasuke and Naruto to share a bath and talk about our training as we relaxed.
It was nice but I realised something this month. Sasuke was 7 years old. He had turned 7 in July, it was August now. The Uchiha Massacre is going to happen soon. I remembered it happened at night so I doubted that me and Naruto would get caught up in it.
I went to sleep that night with worries in my mind. The next few days continued much the same, it took awhile to get down the nature transformation and I still wasn’t very good at it. I had started practising with a clone though which now that I think about it probably slowed me down.
The mental fatigue is no joke, mentally challenging training like this is even worse on my mind with shadow clones but the whole reason was to get me used to that fatigue.
So I progressed a lot slower since I needed to rest a lot more than Sasuke and Naruto had to. They learned their Jutsu pretty quickly and had already moved onto the second one.
The Jutsu Naruto had learned was called Wind Release: Air Current Dance. You whip up air currents around you to kick up a cloud of dust and dirt to obscure your opponents view. It obviously works better in certain environments.
It took another day for me to complete the Jutsu. The mental fatigue of the Shadow Clone Jutsu was lowering day by day. It was like training a muscle, the more I used it the faster it grew.
It was September now and as the months went by I grew more and more restless as the massacre approached. I knew Naruto, Sasuke, Mikoto and probably Itachi realised but I couldn’t help it.
I threw myself into learning the second Jutsu and succeeded after about two days. We then got the option to spar with those Jutsu, we each took turns sparring with Mikoto trying to incorporate the Jutsu into the Taijutsu we had already learned.
It went well. It was obvious when to use the Jutsu and when not to since Mikoto would always press the advantage when we used a Jutsu at the wrong time. She beat the proper timing into us. She was also only using Taijutsu.
Next she let us learn two new D Rank Jutsu. Me and Naruto learned Blurring Wind and Dust Wind.
Blurring Wind covered the user’s body in winds, obscuring and blurring their form making it harder to hit them. Your body shifts and wavers to those who can see it.
Dust wind allows you to inhale a gust of air and exhale a strong wind that kicks up dirt and debris to blind or distract your opponent.
Then Mikoto allowed us to learn a C Rank Jutsu. She gave us a familiar Jutsu, Wind Release: Great Breakthrough.
She gave Sasuke one that would allow him to create disks of lighting that could home in on his foes.
She said these were the only Jutsu she was going to teach us and that we had to practise them as much as we could so we could master them.
I was fine with that, I could practise the Jutsu and practise Shadow Clones as well. It took about 4 days for me to get down the C Rank Jutsu. The chakra consumption was higher and I had to intend it to do much more damage.
The next month passed by quickly with no sign of the massacre and it was soon October 10th. Mine and Naruto’s birthday. We were turning 7 years old. When Mikoto found out she demanded we come over to celebrate. We usually didn’t really celebrate our birthday since it was usually when people hated us the most.
We always made it a tradition to be together for that day and to spend the entirety of it together.
After a relatively happy birthday we went home and the month went by fast with Jutsu practice, sparring, shuriken practice and Naurto begging me to get Hiruzen to let him learn the Shadow Clone Jutsu.
Soon it was November 11th and we had just finished training. I had been seeing less and less of Itachi over the months. The massacre had to be coming soon, I went home that day agitated. Naruto was worried but I waved him off, telling him to go to sleep.
I tried to distract myself with some chores but I was stopped as I felt something. I don’t know what came over me but I left the apartment, leaving behind a clone and locking the door behind me as I ran towards the Uchiha Compound.
Something was wrong, I knew what it was and I had no idea what I could do, maybe I could comfort Sasuke but I could do nothing to Itachi.
As I ran through an alley I was stopped dead in my tracks as I heard a voice I recognised “I had a feeling you would come” the man said as he stepped forward out of the shadows and looked at me.
Itachi had a blank look on his face “what did you do Itachi?” I asked as I narrowed my eyes on him.
“I have a feeling you somehow already know what I’ve done” he said as his gaze bored into me.
“What makes you say that?” I said as I glared at him.
“Your obvious disdain for one, you should have no idea what I've done and yet you’re looking at me like you know exactly what I’ve done. You’re obviously hostile and ready to fight even though you should have no knowledge of what I've done” he said.
He took a few steps closer to me and his curious gaze settled on me “you’ve been growing restless and worried these past few months like you expected something to happen” he said as he crossed his arms and looked at me.
“You rushing to the compound like this just makes me sure you know exactly what I’ve done. Did you want to try and stop me?” he asked curiously. There was no hostility in his voice, he was simply stating facts.
“I would’ve liked to but I knew I couldn’t do anything, nothing short of forcefully stopping you would've worked and I won’t be strong enough to do that for a few years” I said as I kept my eyes on him.
“Don’t worry, I'm not going to kill you Kami. I originally intended to make Sasuke hate me, so he would strive to become stronger and could make me pay for what I’ve done but that isn’t necessary. I still want him to be the one to kill me but he’s made more progress in these few months training with you and your brother than he has in his entire life” he said.
“Wow you really are using a lot more words with me” I said with a bit of amusement in my tone.
“Never change Kami, always using humour to cope. I am not going to hurt you, I think you’re good for Sasuke but I need you to promise me something” Itachi said, a small smile appearing for a fraction of a second when he first spoke.
“What?” I asked curiously.
“I want you to let Sasuke kill me. If you do become strong enough to beat me, don’t kill me. I want Sasuke to take revenge for my crimes” Itachi said and I sighed before nodding.
“Fine I think your entire plan is idiotic but sure i’ll go along with it” I said as I relaxed my stance, glancing around in suspicion.
If you stumble upon this narrative on Amazon, it's taken without the author's consent. Report it.
“Don’t worry, nobody is around, it’s just us two, I made sure of that” Itachi said as I nodded.
I decided to just trust him for now since he could kill me easily so if he wanted to he would’ve already done so.
“There is something else Kami, I need to know something” he said as the curious gaze came back and locked onto me.
“I watched you a lot, I spied on you. You interested me and I needed to find out more. I noticed you did some things that confuse me. You’ve looked at a bunch of children like you knew them.
A pink haired civilian, the Nara Clan heir, the Hyuuga Heir, among others. And it wasn’t just children. You’ve looked at some civilians with the same eyes and some Jonin. Even some Anbu” he said.
“That’s what I call creepy Itachi” I said as I gave him a suspicious look.
“You know so much more than you let on. It’s clear to me you knew something would happen today, maybe you don’t know exactly what happened but you know something did. The recognition and familiarity with people you shouldn’t know anything about.
The only people people you regularly interact with are your brother, Sasuke, me, the Hokage and my mother. Those people have no reason to tell you about those people”. He said as he stared down at me.
“Do you know what that seal on your stomach is?” Itachi asked.
I let out a sigh before slowly nodding. I was stupid if I thought I'd be able to hide my knowledge for so long, someone would notice things and someone did.
“You know about the Nine Tails” he said, “does Naruto?” he asked and I shook my head.
“I’m not exactly sure how but you have knowledge you shouldn’t have. I know you’re not a foreign ninja infiltrating the village, that much is obvious to me. A theory keeps making itself known in my mind but it is insane. It makes sense though.
This is a complete guess and I am assuming I'm going to come across as crazy for suggesting it. Do you somehow have knowledge of the future?” he asked and I raised an eyebrow in surprise.
I thought he was going to suggest that I was taken over by someone or something like that or that I was possessed.
“And if I do?” I asked as I looked at him with a questioning glance.
“Will my wish be fulfilled? Does Sasuke make me atone for what I’ve done” he asked with obvious guilt in his voice.
“You’re an idiot Itachi” I said, I decided to say fuck it.
“Shisui would probably be pissed at you for killing the Uchiha but he knows how much you love your brother, he’d forgive you eventually. Sasuke will kill you but he’ll be consumed by his hatred and it’ll lead him down a dark path. I intend to stop him from going down that path” I said as I let out a sigh.
Itachi nodded slowly “I don’t need you to comfort me Kami, I have got a gift for you. I believe it will be of much better use in your hands than in mine” he said as he pulled a jar from a bag behind him.
“You’ll have to learn how to preserve it until it can be used” I took the offered jar and looked inside, an eye floating in some type of solution.
My brows furrowed in confusion before realisation dawned on me as my eyes snapped up to Itachi.
“It’s Shisui’s eye, the one he gave me” My eyes widened to ridiculous degrees. My cover was completely forgotten.
“Do you know what you’ve just given me?” I questioned with surprise evident in my voice.
Itachi nodded “I know Shisui’s Mangekyo is strong and apparently you also know it’s abilities” he said.
“I’m not even going to bother denying or deflecting that. I never expected this. This will help immensely” I said as I slowly put the jar away into a jacket pocket.
Itachi nodded “I have to go. I’ll see you sometime in the future Kami” he said, I gave him a small wave before he disappeared from the alleyway.
I let out a sigh “now where the fuck do I put the eye?” I mumbled to myself. I needed to do something first though. I dashed to the Uchiha Compound, I sprinted as fast as I could. I climbed over the compound walls. I vaulted over them and then ran to Sasuke’s house.
I ignored the corpses and blood surrounding me, I just ran. I soon arrived at their house, I kicked open the door and ran into the living stopping quickly as I saw the three bodies.
Mikoto and Fugaku lay dead in the corner. Sadness filled me to see Mikoto dead but I focused on Sasuke. I dashed over and kneeled down beside him. He was unconscious.
He was still breathing. I inspected his body trying to find any injuries. I nodded when I found no injuries. Itachi must have used Tsukuyomi. I picked up Sasuke in my arms and left the house. I stopped when I saw Shinobi.
I recognised a few Jonin. Immediately I was approached by Hiruzen who was also there “Kami!” He said in surprise as he ran over.
“Sasuke’s fine, I’m getting him out of here, should I take him to the hospital?” I asked as I stared blankly at him.
He seemed to be unnerved by my stare. He nodded “I'll have some Anbu escort you” he said and I nodded.
“Hiruzen?” I said, getting his attention.
“Can you get rid of my Anbu bodyguards? After tonight I mean, they were comforting before but now that I can protect myself they are just invasive” I said and he nodded with a sigh before gesturing for me to leave.
We soon got to the hospital, some nurses took Sasuke, and an Anbu reported to them what happened.
I walked over to Anbu and said “I’m gonna go home and get some sleep, can you tell Sasuke i’ll be here in the morning to see him if he wakes up” I asked and the Anbu nodded.
I immediately went home. I hid the jar under my bed for now before I went to sleep. First thing I did when I woke up was check if the eye was still there and it was.
I had an idea where to hide it but I figured it would be safesti with me for now. I placed it in the pouch on my waist. I had already figured out my ninja outfit so I had already gotten some ninja pouches and some gear from Mikoto. They were birthday presents.
I walked out to see Naruto looking as excited as usual. I gave him a sad smile as he looked at me.
“Sasuke’s in the hospital, we’re going to visit him. I’ll explain what happened on the way” I said as I packed some quick lunches before we left, walking to the hospital.
I explained to Naruto that there was an attack on the Uchiha. I couldn’t bring myself to tell him they were dead but he seemed to understand from the look on my face.
“Sensei?” He questioned. I nodded with a sigh. I glanced over and saw a tear fall down his cheek.
We soon arrived at the hospital and quickly went into the reception. We asked where Sasuke was. We were told he was awake.
We went to his room and we entered after I knocked. Sasuke was sitting in his bed, looking down at his lap with a blank look, he glanced up at us with a flat stare.
Naruto immediately dashed forward as he wrapped his arms around Sasuke, hugging him tightly as the boy immediately broke down into tears, sobbing into Naruto’s shoulder as they both hugged each other.
I stood at the door, the lunches in my arms as I watched them both. A nurse had walked in behind me to check on Sasuke, she gave me a sad smile when she noticed the two boys.
“Is he okay?” I asked, referring to his body.
She smiled and nodded “he is completely healthy physically but I am unsure of his mental state, he went through something incredibly traumatising after all” she said and I nodded.
“Okay thank you” I said as I gave her a smile. She left quickly.
I moved over and placed the lunches on Sasuke’s bedside table.
The two separated for a bit as I walked over, I smiled at Sasuke trying to be comforting, “hey Sasuke” I said and he gave me a slight nod.
“I’m sure after what happened you won’t want to go back home anytime soon so you are welcome to come live with us, we’re friends after all” I said “I brought some lunches as well” I smiled at him.
He barely managed to give me a small smile back as he took a deep breath in and then exhaled “I’d… love that” he said slowly.
Naruto sat beside Sasuke as he grabbed the top lunch box, opening it before grinning at Sasuke. “Kami’s cooking is amazing, this is the first you’re trying it I think!” he said, going back to his excited self.
It was obvious Naruto’s enthusiasm about my cooking was rubbing off on Sasuke, he needed the distraction “hey Naruto, Sasuke” I said getting their attention.
“I need to go speak to the Hokage, you two stay here and I'll be back soon” I said with a smile as I walked to the door, waving bye to them before I made my way to Hokage Tower.
It didn’t take long for me to be in the Hokage’s office. It was dumb considering what I had hidden in my back pouch but all I cared about right now was Sasuke.
“Kami what can I do for you?” he asked and I crossed my arms as I stood in front of his desk.
“Sasuke is coming to live with me and Naruto, I want to ask if it’s possible we can get a stipend increase. We have that spare room we never used for anything so we can change that into his room” I said as I looked up at me.
“He is?” Hiruzen questioned and I gave him a firm stare. He let out a small chuckle “I’m not going to stop him, I’m just glad you’ve made such a close friend. I can give you a stipend increase, do you need any more money for the month? He asked.
I shook my head “no it shouldn’t be needed, any chance I can get access to the academy student section of the library?” I asked “I want to graduate early and the only problem with that is my theory knowledge” I explained.
The Hokage looked at me in thought as he slowly crossed his arms on his desk “when are you wanting to graduate from the academy?” he asked.
“In the first year preferably, thanks to Mikoto Sensei I have the practical skills but my history knowledge and theory knowledge are poor” I explained.
Hiruzen nodded “It is possible to graduate that early but it’s difficult, okay i’ll give you access to the academy section of the library, the librarian should know you so just ask her when you first go there” he then grew a bit more serious, the smile on his face fading away.
“Why were you at the Uchiha Compound last night?” he asked simply. I had thought about this on the way here and had come up with something.
I let out a tired sigh “Itachi…” I paused, acting like it was hard to get the words out “I haven’t been able to sleep well for a while, I don’t know why but I felt like something was wrong, in hindsight it was obvious, Itachi was growing colder and more distant as time went on.
He came to me last night to… To apologise. He said he was sorry he had to do this and made me promise I’d protect Sasuke. He then left, it was obvious something was wrong so I ran to the Uchiha Compound to see what was wrong.
Didn’t expect to see hundreds of dead bodies all around.” I said as I crossed my arms with a frown on my face as I remembered the corpses.
“What else did Itachi say to you?” Hiruzen asked, giving me a firm look.
I let out a sigh “he told me he wanted Sasuke to kill him, to allow him to atone. Do you know why he did that?” I asked, I couldn’t help the suspicious look that went across my face.
I obviously knew that Hiruzen and Danzo had ordered Itachi to do this, I understood the reason, I didn’t agree with it in the old world and it’s even harder to swallow now. My Sensei was murdered and my close friend lost his entire family.
“I don’t know why” he said simply “I’m just as surprised as you are Kami” he said.
I managed to stop the scoff that almost escaped from my mouth. I nodded in understanding “Is that all Hokage, I need to go help Sasuke, and can you tell the hospital staff he’s coming home with us?” I asked.
He nodded “I'll send an Anbu, and you’ll no longer have an Anbu detail. Naruto and Sasuke are required to have one” he said and I nodded. I didn’t mind Naruto and Sasuke having it, it actually made me feel better.
I soon left and headed back to the hospital, I walked as all sorts of thoughts flew through my head. I soon arrived at the hospital to find Sasuke and Naruto waiting for me at the front desk.
“Kami!” Naruto said, giving me a big wave as I walked up to the two. Sasuke had a small smile on his face.
“Are you doing well?” I asked the black haired boy. He nodded “let’s go then” I said as I gestured for them to follow me.
We soon were on our way back to our home. It didn’t take us long to get there. Naruto was talking excitedly about all sorts of different things trying to keep Sasuke distracted.
Sasuke was unusually quiet but it’s not like I expected anything different. We soon got home and I let both boys enter before I walked in and locked the door behind me.
I decided to make Sasuke a home cooked meal. Naruto and Sasuke sat at the table as I cooked. Me and Naruto talked as Sasuke listened.
It was gonna be hard to help him but I'd do it.
Hiruzen’s POV
“You’ve put the last Uchiha in the same house as those demons!” an old pudgy man said. He was the council member that oversaw civilian operations. He was a pain but he couldn’t be removed from the council because of his connections.
“I believe it’s a good choice. If Kami has more connections to this village he is unlikely to turn against it” Homura Mitokado said. The Military advisor.
The old pudgy man turned to Homura with a fierce glare.
“Homura is correct, Kami and Naruto have few connections to this village. The Jinchuriki are symbols of power. We have two even if they are Jinchurikis of the same tailed beast, that makes us a threat to the other villages. Having Kami and Naruto connected to this village is important” I said with a straight tone.
I hated these meetings, most of the council were people who simply held power in the village. The clan heads for example. I enjoyed spending time with the Uzumaki brothers. I cared for them greatly but I had to give logical and factual arguments to these people.
The meeting was the same as it usually is, a lot of people just talking. I had to decide on a few things but most was just talking about certain issues within the village.
I soon found myself back in my office. I sat back in my chair as I took a long puff of my pipe. My eyes drifted over to the picture of the fourth Hokage on the wall to my left.
“He shares some of your traits” I mumbled as I looked at Minato. Kami was an interesting kid. Too perceptive and insightful even for his own good. The boy obviously knew something was up. He doubted Itachi told him exactly what went on.
Danzo had been removed from the council since he went behind my back. I was getting too old for this. I think it was time to start considering finding a new Hokage, who though?
Kami’s POV
I sat at the kitchen table. I had forced Sasuke to take my bed for the night so he could have a comfortable sleep. I had some things to do. The eye was still in the pouch on my back but I had no idea where to stash it. I could hide it in the Uchiha Compound since that place became a ghost town in the near future.
Right now it’s swarming with Shinobi who are all on clean up duty. It was a mess after all. I could just hide it in the woods, no one would find it out there but then the jar is subject to the elements. This is why I want to graduate early.
I need to be able to leave the village, there is no way I can get someone to implant the eye here, not a chance.
I need someone outside of the village. I would have to do some research, I would also need money so I need to become a Genin as fast as possible.
Now where to put this fucking eye! I was tempted to just keep it on myself forever and I would until I could think of a good place to hide it.
I left our apartment, I was bored so I headed towards the library. It was open 24/7 since sometimes Shinobi like to come here at night. I walked in and up to the reception desk.
The building was huge. It had five floors. The first being for civilians, the second being for academy students, the third Genin, then Chunin and finally Jonin.
“Hey, I’m Kami Uzumaki, the Hokage said I’d be able to access the academy section” I said to the old lady at the desk.
She looked down at me and nodded, she reached under the desk and handed me a card. It had my name and face printed on it with a section that said access: Academy Student.
“If it needs to be updated then just bring it to me, the only way to get another Jutsu as an academy student is to get permission from the academy teachers” she said before she went back to the book she was reading.
I nodded before I walked up the spiral staircase and to the second floor. I went through the rows of bookcases. There were signs at the top of the aisles that said what type of books were present.
I was looking for history. I was going to grab a few and have me and a clone go through them. I wanted to check up on the knowledge I had.
I also wanted to get this stuff out of the way so I could finally start practising on accessing my mindscape to start communicating with Kurama or whatever that place was.
I found the right section as I made a ram hand seal “fuck it” I said with a shrug “Taju Kage Bunshin No Jutsu” I said in a soft voice as 4 clones popped into existence beside me.
We all set out picking a few books each before we moved to a table and sat down, we each started reading. I was there until morning reading history books, I didn’t really need to read much, I mostly skimmed since a lot of the history I knew from the show.
I simply wanted to check the knowledge I had. I also made sure to disperse one clone at a time and spend some time resting and digesting the knowledge before I made another clone and then dispersed another.
I’d come back and freshen up the knowledge I didn’t have. I walked home, I was unsurprisingly not tired at all. The immense stamina and regeneration I had made getting tired hard. I was a bit mentally fatigued but that would go away with a bit of rest.
The good news was that not much was different about history except some stuff that just wasn’t mentioned in the show. Also reading like that was a very good way to train the Shadow Clone Technique.
I made my way home pretty quickly. I arrived to find Naruto and Sasuke were still asleep. I wasn’t really surprised. I immediately set about making breakfast for the two, I’d have to go shopping today or tomorrow.
I had managed to save some money the past two months so I had plenty to last us three this month.
About halfway through Naruto came walking into the kitchen. He sat at the table and looked down at the cup of coffee waiting for him, he was staring down at it.
“You okay?” I asked as I leaned back against the counter, looking at him.
He looked over at me before glancing back at the corridor where the bedrooms were before he looked back at me “I feel bad for Sasuke” he said simply as he sipped the coffee.
I walked over and sat in the chair beside him as I shrugged “I am too but it’s gonna take time for him to get better. The best we can do is be there for him no matter what” I said as I smiled at my brother.
He smiled back before he smirked at me “what you making?” he asked with an expectant look.
“Ramen” I said simply and he proceeded to do a silent cheer. He obviously didn’t want to wake Sasuke. He immediately started doing a little excited dance.
I chuckled as I watched him. “Naruto looks happy” a voice came from the corridor. Naruto stopped his dance and looked over at Sasuke with a smile.
Sasuke was leaning against the wall with a small smile on his face “hey kid” I said with a smile.
“Kid? I’m older than you” he said as he walked over and took a seat at the table.
“Hey, it looks like everyone here is older than Naruto” I said with a smirk as Sasuke laughed.
Naruto glared at me before he seemed to remember what I was cooking before he did an actual cheer of “ramen!”.
Sasuke gained a look of realisation on his face as he seemingly understood Naruto’s excitement.
“So seriously how are you doing?” I asked Sasuke.
“It was hard getting to sleep but knowing you two were here helped. My parents wouldn’t want me to be sad forever so I figured I'd do my best to improve” he said with a smile at me. It seemed a bit strained but it was obvious he was trying.
“Well we’re here for you no matter what you need, just ask” I said “ask me not Kami, he’s useless” Naruto chimed in with a big grin.
“Ohhh sounds like someone doesn’t want any ramen right Sasuke?” I said as Naruto proceeded to look at me in horror.
Sasuke chuckled “yep sounds like it to me” he said with a nod.
Naruto stared at both of us, his gaze snapping back and forth as he dashed forward and grabbed me by the arms, shaking me back and forth “No Kami! You can’t take away ramen!” he shouted in despair.
I tried to push him away but he had a death grip on me “get off me you moron!” I shouted as I pushed my hand against his face trying to pry him off.
Sasuke meanwhile was laughing, not trying to help me at all.
Eventually Naruto said if he didn’t stop his ramen wouldn't be cooked properly.
Not that long after we were eating, talking happily. It was obvious Sasuke enjoyed the distraction.
Naruto and Sasuke talked whilst I was consumed by my thoughts. I was focused on the future. I had no idea what I was going to do with these two. I wasn’t sure if the Hokage would give us another trainer, I’d have to speak with him about that.
I couldn’t train them myself “hey Kami!” I felt a hand slap my arm as I looked up at Naruto who was looking at me in annoyance.
“We were just talking about going out for a run and finding somewhere to spar,” Naruto said, both of them looking at me expectantly.
“Yeah i’d love to, I can’t today unfortunately I need to go do something and find a bed for the spare room for Sasuke. You two go, I'll give you the spare key Naruto” I said as I got up and went into my room, I got the spare key I had stashed in there before I walked out and handed it to Naruto who secured it on his person.
“Alright we’re going to get going, see you later Kami” Naruto said, Sasuke gave me a wave before both left the apartment. I let out a sigh.
I couldn’t go because I couldn’t risk breaking the jar and I needed to find somewhere to hide it. With the Anbu gone I could hide it in my room.
I waited about an hour. I did some Shadow Clone Training as I pretended to be in deep thought.
After about an hour I went into my room and pulled my bed out of the corner. I moved to the corner of the room and bent down. The floorboards were easy to take apart. One of them had broken years ago because me and Naruto were goofing around.
I lifted the broken board up and checked underneath it. It wasn’t very nice so I got a towel and wrapped the jar in the towel before gently putting it in the floor.
“I need Fuinjutsu” I said with a sigh as I put the board back and then put my bed back. I did some chores. Some cleaning and some washing. I used clones of course.
I left the apartment and went into the village. I hoped I could find something better.
A few months passed by pretty quickly. I did talk to the Hokage and he said he’d think about it since he was very busy at the moment.
In the day time we all went for a run around the village to keep upping our physical conditions. Then we went to a clearing we had found in the village. We then sparred and practised everything Sensei had taught us.
I spent my nights at the library reading every single book multiple times with clones spread over the month. I hadn’t read every book just yet but I would have read them all multiple times by the time the academy started. Which was next year in January.
I have about a year until the academy starts. I prioritised my reading to be around biology at first, using civilian books as well. I had found the solution that the eye was in.
It was some type of preserving solution. It would make the eye last about four years before it started degrading.
So that was my time frame. I had to get it implanted in four fucking years.
Hiruzen’s POV
“Ah Jiraiya” I said with a smile as the man walked into the office. I had called him back here about a month ago.
“Heya Sensei, why did you call me back here? I’m genuinely curious” Jiraiya asked with a grin.
“There is no one to take the mantle of Hokage from me and I am getting too old for this. I want to retire Jiraiya” I said with a tired sigh and a deep puff of my pipe.
“I appreciate what you're saying but I am not the man for the job,” Jiraiya said with a shake of his head.
“I know you wouldn’t want to but I want you to find my replacement. I’d suggest Tsunade for the job and I’d like you to go and convince her” I said.
“I can’t suggest her for the job to the council when she’s away doing whatever it is she is doing” I said with a sigh.
Jiraiya nodded as he adopted a thinking pose “she would be very good for the job there’s no doubt about that but I highly doubt I can convince her” he said with a shrug.
“I’d like you to try,” I said and Jiraiya nodded in understanding.
“What about Minato’s sons? How are they doing?” Jiraiya asked, a bit hesitant.
I smiled as I thought of the two boys. “Naruto takes a lot from his father and mother. He’s boisterous, loud and is always excited. Kami is very different from his brother, he’s calm and collected. Very perceptive but on the inside he’s incredibly similar to Kushina but he keeps up a mask” I said with a smile.
“Is he as scary as her though?” Jiraiya asked with a small laugh.
I shivered at the thought “yes he is” I admitted with a small smile.
“Oh? The Hokage scared of a little boy” he said in a jokingly mocking voice.
I smirked “I can’t smoke around him because of the disapproving glare he gives me everytime” I said with a small laugh.
Jiraiya laughed with me “you said last time we talked they were getting a Jonin to train them” he said.
I nodded “It was Mikoto Uchiha. She’s dead now after what happened. Kami and Naruto took in Sasuke Uchiha, the last Uchiha in the village. Those three are living together now. The spot to be their teacher is open if you want to fill it after you get back?” I suggested as I looked at Jiraiya.
He seemed like he wanted to say yes but was hesitant. “I'll think about it” he said as he looked up at me “is there anything else? If not I’ll set off to go find Tsunade” he asked and I shook my head
“Nothing else,” I said. He said goodbye and then left.
Kami’s POV
Naruto, Sasuke and I were currently waiting at the training grounds. The Hokage had supposedly found a Jonin to give us some teaching before the Academy. We had 2 years until it started so I was easily going to be able to learn everything.
I’d most likely be able to graduate immediately but I’m not going to because I want to help Naruto and Sasuke settle in. I will graduate in a few months, maybe one or two.
“FInally!” Naruto said as we all turned to see a Jonin walking towards us, I expected Kakashi with how late he was but we didn’t have him.
I did recognise the man though, a Tokubetsu Jonin. He was the proctor of the Chunin Exams. Gekko Hayate.
He walked up to us “sorry about that, something came up that I had to deal with” he said with a slight smile.
“You three are the ones the Hokage asked me to train?” he asked and we nodded. Naruto and Sasuke were very excited to start learning more.
“You have the Shadow Clone Technique right?” He asked, turning to me in which I nodded.
“Then we’ll make use of that” he said with a nod “what do you all currently know?” he asked.
We then explained our current abilities, then Gekko tested our Taijutsu and physical condition. The first lesson was mostly tests to understand our abilities.
The next two years were enjoyable and passed much the same.
