Two years had passed by incredibly quickly. Gekko had taught us a lot. He couldn't necessarily always teach us since he had his own stuff to do. We were lucky with Mikoto since she was a housewife and tended to stay at their home mostly.
I had learned a lot under Gekko’s Teaching. He was a Kenjutsu specialist and both me and Sasuke had an interest in Kenjutsu so he taught us both how to wield a weapon. We didn’t do much sparring, he mostly taught us the basics of Kenjutsu. He had decided the best weapon for me was a chokuto. It was small and lightweight so it’d be easy to use jutsu with it.
He also happened to be a Wind Release user although he tended to use Kenjutsu more than Ninjutsu. He taught me and Naruto more C-Rank Jutsu and got permission from the Hokage to teach us both a B-Rank each although I used clones to learn both at the same time.
He also got some scrolls for Sasuke and managed to get a friend of his who was a Lightning Ninjutsu specialist to give Sasuke some personal training in certain lightning ninjutsu.
Gekko taught us three to use both Shunshin and the Kai genjutsu release technique. He also improved our Taijutsu and taught us some tactics to use in three man squads since we would be in three man teams when we became Genin.
He also taught me some tactics to use for larger teams that I could use with my clones. And he helped improve our physical training. Sasuke had also practised a lot with his Sharingan.
That summed up everything Gekko had taught us in those 2 years, we also spent a lot of time reducing the hand seals and getting more familiar with the techniques we knew.
I did quite a bit on my own time as well. I managed to convince Hiruzen to lend me some Fuinjutsu training scrolls. I had learned a pretty basic sealing technique. It’s all I wanted to learn right now, I was using it to hold our lunches when we went to training.
I’d invest more time into it later. I also read the entire academy library section multiple times. There were books about history, tactics, ninjutsu, genjutsu, and taijutsu theory. There was some basic biology and anatomy books that showed the weaknesses of the human body.
That was just scratching the surface of what I had learned. Most of the books were about history and tactics. They analysed past battles and explained the tactics and motivation behind the strategies used.
It also went into key figures of the past. Hashirama, Madara, Minato, Tobirama among others. The books were enlightening, some stuff was either wrong or not entirely accurate since I remembered them differently. Or my knowledge was wrong, I had no idea.
I had been thinking about what I wanted to specialise in but then I realised I didn’t need to since I had Shadow Clones. There was some stuff I didn’t want to get into such as Genjutsu.
Also I had seen Jiraiya walking around. He had come and gone from the village a lot. Hiruzen has also been a lot more busy recently. I wasn't sure why exactly. Usually he would let a shadow clone do his work when he came to visit us.
I had worked hard and it had paid off. I could train with about 30 clones at once now. I could fight with a lot more. The mental fatigue was getting much easier to deal with. The main problem now was that I had to organise the memories and experiences I had gotten from the clones when they disperse.
It was time to start at the academy, Hiruzen had actually offered to have me take the graduation tests immediately to see if I was ready. I knew I was, I'd be surprised if I wasn't but I had decided to put it off for a few weeks.
I’d take the test in 2 weeks. I wanted to see what the academy was like and I wanted to be there with Sasuke and Naruto for a bit.
Today was our first day and for once I hadn’t needed to pack lunches. We were dressed in our ninja outfits. I had saved up a lot of money and had gotten them commissioned.
Naruto had on a black shirt with orange shorts and blue sandals. He had an armoured vest over his shirt that had the uzumaki swirl on the front and back. He had pouches for Kunai and Shuriken. However Naruto wasn’t wearing his vest since we wouldn’t need it.
Sasuke was wearing a long sleeved blue shirt with black trousers and blue sandals. He wore a shirt underneath his blue one that had armour plates stitched into it that covered his vital areas. He had decided to copy me in that regard. Sasuke was not wearing the armoured shirt since we wouldn’t need it.
I didn’t plan on getting hit so I wore a black shirt and black trousers with black boots. I had the same armoured shirt that Sasuke had, the plates were on the chest, back stomach and small sections of the arms. I had armour plates built into the inside of the trousers to protect the outside of my thighs and my shins. I was wearing all of my armour since I had gotten my outfit commissioned last so I had less time to get used to it. I also had a black cloak that had a hood for warmth and stealth. I didn’t have it on today since it was a relatively nice day.
We stood at the front of the academy gates with many other new students and their parents. I recognised the entirety of the Rookie 9. There were many other civilian born students as well. Me and Naruto were getting some dirty looks but the blond boy couldn’t care any less.
He had his arms around the back of my and Sasuke’s shoulders, he was hugging us both close to him as he shook with excitement.
There were multiple desks lined up at the front of the academy that had multiple ninja behind them, the shinobi teachers were calling out names where they were then given their schedules and which classroom they’d be in.
Sasuke and Naruto were both called before me and in fact I was the last one and not a single letter was left. One of the Shinobi came up to me with a straight face.
“You’re Kami right?” he asked and I nodded. “The Hokage appears to be confident in your ability to graduate in 2 weeks so we decided to give you a schedule. You wanted to be with your brother and Sasuke Uchiha so you are welcome to follow them through their classes. The teachers know not to bother giving you any tasks but you are welcome to try anything they assign to the class just ask them” he said before he told me where Naruto's class was.
I nodded, thanking him before I headed on my way to their classroom. I walked in and found the teacher had already started talking, he looked at me, nodded in understanding before gesturing to me to take a seat. I walked to the back where Sasuke and Naruto had saved me.
The teachers were being less hostile than I thought they would’ve been, so either they were different to the series or Hiruzen had given them all a talking to. I guessed it was the latter since Hiruzen had no patience for people that discriminated against me and Naruto.
The teacher was explaining the curriculum:
Monday - Friday:
8:00 - 9:00 Introduction to Ninjutsu and Chakra Theory. In the earlier years this class focuses on basic chakra control and theory before transitioning to learning specific techniques like the academy three in later years.
9:00 - 10:00 Introduction to Genjutsu and Infiltration. This class focused on how to hide in plain sight, how to mimic a target's mannerisms, then the basics of genjutsu detection, escape, and casting.
10:00 - 11:00 Taijutsu. This focused on theory, anatomy, specific katas and styles, and sparring practice.
11:00 - 12:00 The Art of War. Starting with broad strategic history of the 3 Wars, then moving on to Small Unit Tactics which we had some experience with thanks to Gekko.
12:00 - 1:00 Lunch
1:00 - 2:00 Bukijutsu. Starting with basic weapon handling and maintenance, progressing to throwing and combat use which Gekko and Mikoto had taught us a lot about.
2:00 - 3:00 History of the Elemental Nations with emphasis on what to know to blend in, current and past alliances, the ninja villages, and client/trade/money information.
3:00 - 4:00 General Education like reading and writing, mathematics, basic finance, potentially literature or other cultural studies, history of Konoha, etc.
The weekends were for self study or for clan kids to learn their clan techniques.
That was the schedule for the next four years, Naruto and Sasuke looked annoyed at some of the classes. I was sitting in between them so I whispered to them “you two better make some friends or so help me god” I said as I gave them both a firm stare.
“What’s the point, we could probably graduate in like a year and join your team” Naruto said with a quiet whine, Sasuke seemed to agree with him.
“Because you're children” I stated and both of them glanced me up and down as if saying “so are you”.
“I’m a special child” I said with a firm nod “you’re not graduating early, end of” I said as Naruto whined again in complaint. Sasuke frowned at me.
“We don’t need friends though Kami, we have each other” Sasuke said with a smile.
I raised an eyebrow with a sigh “that’s the sweetest thing and the saddest thing i’ve ever heard” I said with a smirk at Sasuke who glared at me.
“Come on Kami, if we graduate early we can be the best Genin team out there” Naruto said with an excited tone.
“We probably would be but it isn’t happening” I said firmly.
“Oh come on-” Naruto’s protest was cut off as my hand flew up and caught a piece of chalk that was about to fly past our heads.
“Hey you three! Stop talking and listen!” the teacher shouted at us.
“Sorry, teach” I said as I gently tossed the piece of chalk back to the man.
Naruto and Sasuke had shut up now and focused back on the teacher. I doubted Sasuke and Naruto would be able to graduate in a year anyway.
Naruto could barely sit still for any length of time so studying history books and theory books would annoy and bore the hell out of him which also meant shadow clones wouldn’t help as much as they did for me.
Sasuke had a much better chance but he wouldn’t leave Naruto behind. We were close friends but my mental age separated me from them two a bit. We all considered each other family but Naruto and Sasuke were best friends and rivals.
They stuck together and there was no way the other would leave the other behind. They would end up being one hell of a duo, I wasn’t sure if they would be on the same team again since there was no way naruto would be dead last.
Sasuke was most likely going to be rookie of the year since there was still discrimination against Naruto, I was honestly intrigued as to what the teams would be.
Maybe Kiba would be swapped with Naruto on Team 7 but the original team 8 was Kurenai's team and weren’t they a reconnaissance team? Naruto would not fit in a team like that, he was too brash. So maybe It would be Sasuke, Hinata, and Shino. Then Kiba, Sakura and Naruto?
I wasn’t sure, maybe the teams would be the same since Hiruzen would see how good of a duo Sasuke and Naruto were and would decide that keeping them two together would be too strong so he wouldn’t separate them.
I had no idea, I’d find out in the future. I had some stuff up my sleeve to distract Naruto with so he didn’t focus on trying to graduate early since Sasuke wouldn’t leave early.
I fully expected them to beg Hiruzen to put them both on a team together.
I pretty much zoned out for the rest of the day, it was mostly getting the civilians up to speed with what most of those ninja words meant. It was the very basics of the topics that were taught on this day.
Like examples of ninja tools and ninjutsu and taijutsu and what they all meant and stuff. Luckily I had some Clones doing some training at home so I could go through their memories whenever they dispersed.
Lunch was when some interesting stuff happened. Me, Sasuke, and Naruto were sitting at a free table by ourselves. Naruto was complaining as usual.
“This is nowhere near as good as your food Kami” he said in annoyance, I simply glanced at him as I ate some of the noodles. It was ramen so Naruto was still wolfing it down.
“Yeah I have to agree, you’ve spoiled us with your food” Sasuke agreed with Naruto.
“Oh come on I’m not that good, it’s a hobby” I said with a sigh as I ate my own food.
“Can you make us lunch?” Naruto asked as he finished eating, grabbing my arm and looking up at me with hopeful eyes. I let out a sigh.
“Umm you’re Sasuke Uchiha right?” a quiet timid voice asked from our left. Sasuke sat across from me and Naruto, the table was one of those big ones with like 12 seats on each side.
We hadn’t really noticed but as a group of civilian students had sat beside us, they were a mix of boys and girls. A girl had asked Sasuke that question.
I saw an opportunity and I took I leaned forward resting my cheek on my fist as I gave Sasuke a playful look “yeahhhh Sasuke are you the great Sasuke Uchiha” I said in an awed tone, Naruto was covering his mouth, trying not to laugh as Sasuke glared at me.
He then turned to the girl and nodded “sorry about this idiot” he said as he thumbed in my direction, I gasped in fake hurt as I held a hand to my chest.
“I am yes, what can I do for you?” he asked politely, their entire group had turned to us as Sasuke had started speaking.
“You trained with a Jonin right?” one of them asked.
“That’s so cool!” another had said.
“Actually all three of us did, he’s going to graduate in about two weeks” he said as he pointed at me obviously trying to get the attention off of himself.
I smiled as the group turned to me in awe. “yep i’m awesome” I said with a nod as I went back to my food.
Sasuke let out a sigh as he slapped his hand against his forehead “we’ve been training for the past 3 years now” Sasuke said, indulging their curiosity.
I zoned out as a clone dispersed and I went through its memories. They were trying to reduce the hand seals needed for a B-Rank Jutsu I had learned, the problem was that said Jutsu was very dangerous and it did a lot of damage to the surroundings so progress was slow since my clones had to keep moving locations.
Some Earth nature specialists came by to the training grounds every now and then and fixed them so I kept moving between the same few.
The day went by pretty quickly and I had already noticed Sakura and Ino giving Sasuke glances. They sat together since they were best friends before their love for Sasuke drove them apart.
Hinata was also glancing at Naruto every now and then, I had no idea how that had happened, she didn’t seem to have a crush on him but she was obviously interested in some way.
The day finally came to an end and we left the academy, walking outside. I noticed two people so I turned to Sasuke and Naruto and said “hold on”.
I walked over to two boys with a smile “hey, you’re Shikamaru and Choji right?” I asked and they turned to me a bit confused.
“Yea we are, can we help you?” Shikamaru asked as they turned to me.
“You two seemed cool, me and my friends are going to go and get something to eat if you two want to join, I'm paying” I said as I gestured back to Sasuke and Naruto, both of them walking up to me and joining us.
“Are you paying?” Choji asked to confirm and I nodded, before he nodded quickly “come on Shikamaru let’s go!” he said as he wrapped an arm around Shikamaru’s shoulders.
I smiled as Sasuke and Naruto introduced themselves, Shikamaru and Choji introducing themselves after and I did so last.
We then went to the Akimichi barbecue place that Choji said was fantastic. Naruto and Choji ended up getting into a heated debate about which food was best, ramen or Korean barbecue.
I had to admit that the food was affordable and quite good but with how much Choji and Naruto ate my wallet now had a sizable dent in it.
“Bet you won’t be doing that again” Shikamaru said with a smirk, me, Sasuke and Shikamaru were walking together.
Naruto and Choji were walking ahead of us three still arguing about ramen and barbecue.
“Not a chance, I expected them to eat a lot, I know Naruto after all but I didn’t expect them to compete, my wallet is crying” I said with a frown.
Sasuke laughed, Shikamaru gave a small chuckle as we all walked. Me, Sasuke and Naruto split off from them two after a bit, Choji was headed to Shikamaru’s house for a bit as we headed home.

It was a fun night and I was pretty sure I had just started a friendship that would last for a while which was my intention.
“You guys are welcome by the way, just got you two new friends” I said with a smirk as I walked in between Sasuke and Naruto.
“Now you see why I'd like you to stay in the academy,” I said. I was walking with my hands in my pockets.
“What about you though?” Naruto said he didn’t seem to want to argue anymore as he looked at me in concern.
I chuckled “i’ll be fine, I can’t really get along with kids my age anyway. I’m more suited to being friends with adults or older teens. I’ve got some stuff to focus on in the next few years but I will make some friends, don’t you worry about that” I said reassuringly.
I didn’t want Naruto to worry about that since I was already worried about that, I could definitely be a good friend to some adults but it’d be weird if they were friends with a child so it would be hard to make some friends until I grew older.
Tonight would be the first night of meditation. I had no idea how to access the place where the Kyuubi was so I decided to just fuck around and find out.
Soon Sasuke and Naruto were in bed and I was sitting in my own bed. I knew how to meditate since I did it in my previous life.
I got comfortable and focused my mind. I had a feeling that chakra was required to get inside the seal or inside my mind I wasn’t sure which it was.
I spent the whole night meditating with no progress towards figuring out how to access my subconscious.
I had a feeling the only way to access your subconscious was through a medium. Like the Yamanaka Jutsu and maybe the seal on my stomach.
I decided to try accessing it through the seal, maybe probing it with my chakra. I hoped to god I wouldn’t accidentally break the seal. I just hoped to god Minato put some safeguards on the seal.
The next day passed much the same, only Shikamaru and Choji sat next to us in class and at lunch.
That night I spent it circling my chakra at my stomach trying to get the seal to react in some way.
I knew it only appeared when Naruto used Kurama’s chakra but I still tried to get it to react.
The next week passed much the same. I was going to do the tests on the weekend, it was Tuesday so I had quite a bit of time but finally tonight something happened.
I felt something on my stomach, it was finally starting to react in some form. The next night it became more pronounced and the night after it finally happened. I felt something and latched onto it with my chakra.
My vision swam as I was pulled in. I woke up surrounded by water, I shot up in panic thinking I was drowning, I breached the surface easily.
The water had barely just covered my face. I slowly stood finding myself in a familiar place. The walls were smooth and grey, it wasn’t a sewer like place, it reminded me of a lair or a secret underground compound.
The water that represented Kurama’s influence was present. I started walking forward as I looked around. Everything was the same.
I headed deeper in when I felt something, it was malice. I assumed I could sense it since we were in my mind.
I moved towards the feeling taking a few turns. Eventually I walked through an opening that led into a massive room. A caged door with huge metal bars stood in the middle of the room. I saw darkness on the other side.
“Hello!” I shouted. I heard a growl as two red eyes opened near to the floor, they slowly rose as something came into sight.
I couldn’t help the smirk that came to my face as the Kyuubi's body was revealed, his eyes glaring down at me in obvious hatred.
I smiled up at the fox as I inspected him, he was as menacing as I thought he was going to be “I can say with a certainty that I am not disappointed” I said with a smile at the fox.
He let out a low growl as he glared down at me, I had decided to not hold anything back including the knowledge I had.
No one could get in here if I didn’t let them so the knowledge I reveal wouldn’t really spread.
“You’re not scared?” a deep, rumbling voice sounded out.
“Should I be? You know something I don't? I know that the seal prevents you from harming me, I also know this isn’t my real body, we’re either inside the seal or my subconscious i’m not really sure” I said as I adopted a thinning pose.
“I destroyed your village, how do you know I couldn't kill you right now?” Kurama said.
“Because I know technically you did destroy it but also not soooo. I am also not sure if you killed my parents or not, I don’t remember if the masked man’s control ended before then” I said as I tried to remember.
“And I know the seal is perfectly fine, if you could kill me you would’ve already done so even if it forced you to reform” I said with a shrug.
Kurama’s eyes narrowed as I revealed some of my knowledge, I grinned up at him.
“Oh I know so much more than that, I know a lot about you as well” I said with a bit of smugness in my voice.
“You know nothing about me,” Kurama said with a loud growl. The cage shuck a little in response to his anger
“I know Hagoromo Otsutsuki used his Creation of all Things Technique to divide the Ten Tails’ Chakra into 9 parts. The tailed beasts of course.” I said with a smile as I walked over and sat down against the bars of the cage turning my back to Kurama.
The fox actually seemed to be surprised.
“I also know that Madara Uchiha used his Sharingan to control you, he forced you to fight with him against Hashirama Senju, that resulted in you being sealed into Mito Uzumaki, the first nine tails Jinchuriki” I said with a small sigh.
“Because of the actions of one asshole your life was changed considerably, you were forced to be sealed into a human. That does suck arse and I know your hatred for humanity is reasonable and you have good reasons to hate us” I said with a sigh as I put my hands behind my head and leaned back, looking up at the ceiling.
I hadn’t expected to see the fox’s face as close to the bars as it could get as it glared down at me “how do you know this?” it growled out in anger.
“I can tell you but you won’t believe me cause I can’t give you any evidence. I don’t really know if I can show you my memories or anything. My knowledge is the only proof” I said with a shrug.
“Just tell me,” Kurama said.
I shrugged and started recounting the story of how I died and woke up in this world and how in my world this world was a show. I explained to him what an anime was and what tv was as I explained where I got my information from.
“Do you know my name?” Kurama asked as he looked down at me, some of the hatred had gone since he seemed to be so caught off guard he forgot to hate me as much.
“Kurama” I said simply as I crossed my arms with a sigh.
Kurama went quiet, seemingly deep in thought before he asked a question “what do you intend to do with this knowledge” he asked.
“I intend to become the strongest and stop certain events from happening, Kaguya Otsutsuki came back in the future that I know and i’ll be damned if I let that happen again but stuff has already changed heavily and so my knowledge is getting less reliable day by day” I said with a sigh of annoyance.
“What do you intend to do with me?” he asked.
“Nothing. Granted I’d like to work together and gain your trust. I’d love your help for the future events that are to come, you’d be a god send but I can do it without you so I plan to do nothing” I said with a shrug.
“I’ll visit you as much as I can and talk with you as much as I can” I said with a smile at the fox who had sat down at this point, it seemed to help him digest the information I was giving him.
“There is a way to share memories” Kurama finally said something after a long while of silence.
“It’ll be much easier for us two since we are in your subconscious right now. We’d have to link chakra. As I'm sure you know, I've weakened the seal which makes it possible to get some of my chakra through” he said.
“You just have to link it with your own so you can show me your memories” he said.
“And I’m supposed to just trust you, I know your hatred better than probably anyone alive right now” I said with a raised eyebrow.
“If this is true, you are something never seen before, that makes me curious. If you’re telling the truth then a lot is about to change” he said.
“Fine but if you try to screw me and i escape, fuck getting your cooperation i’ll find a way to lock you away forever” I said with a glare.
Kurama was unimpressed at my threat as I saw a small amount of dark liquid seep out of the middle of the seal and float towards me.
I gave the fox one last glare as I called on my chakra. It came to my hand and seeped towards Kurama’s chakra.
I felt a connection form as they touched, it was weird. I could feel his emotions “now show me” he commanded in a deep voice.
“How the fuck do I do that?” I asked in confusion.
“Intent” he said as he stared at me.
I stared back “oh that’s it?” I asked mockingly as I let out a sigh as I closed my eyes and reached for the world around me, I brought some of my memories to the forefront of my mind and pushed them towards the connection I felt.
I opened my eyes as I saw the world had changed around us, the Kyuubi was behind me still behind the cage except the rest of the surroundings had changed, this was a memory from my old world, the day of my death.
I let it play out so Kurama could see it himself before I switched to about a year before when I had started my like 5th rewatch of Naruto.
I let the memories play for him, I had only watched the manga canon episodes. We went through the entirety of the show. The Nine Tails attack on Konoha, the land of waves. The Konoha Crush and Chunin exams.
The search for Tsunade and then Sasuke defecting. Then Shippuden.
The Kazekage rescue mission, Tenchi Bridge. Akatsuki suppression, Itachi’s pursuit, Jiraiya’s arc. The Kage summit and the fourth shinobi world war. I showed him the events to come, the power of Madara, the power of Kaguya. I showed him Naruto and Sasuke’s meeting with Hagoromo.
I revealed it all to him and he sat in silence watching intently. I sat quietly as well, only speaking to explain some things.
Eventually the memories had finished and our connection ended, the compound coming back as we sat quietly.
I slowly stood up “I’ll leave you to think about it, I should probably get some sleep anyway, It’s been a long night” I said as I looked back at Kurama.
He nodded slowly “I need to think as well, I’ll call you back in when I’m ready” he said.
I nodded, gave him a wave and then disappeared from the compound.
I slowly woke up again on my bed, I had fallen to the side. I was already laying down so I just pulled the covers over myself and then fell asleep.
The week ended and I left our house as I headed to the academy. I hadn’t heard back from Kurama yet. Naruto and Sasuke were going to meet up with Choji and Shikamaru.
I soon arrived and walked in. I had written tests first which were just stuff about history and theory mostly.
They were done quickly, I finished each test in about 10 minutes.
The Ninjutsu practical test was easy as well. I demonstrated each of the academy three as well as the Shadow Clone Technique and Shunshin, as well as Kai.
As we went outside I showed them one of the B Rank wind release Jutsu I had learned.
Then we went onto the weapon practical test. I demonstrated some of my Kenjutsu against a dummy.
We then went onto Bukijutsu. I showed the precision in which I could throw Senbon, Kunai and Shuriken as well as how to perform maintenance on all of my weapons.
Then the final test is a Taijutsu spar. There were no other academy students to spar against so I sparred with a Chunin.
It went relatively well and I was able to keep up for a while but soon the Chunin started fighting seriously and I started getting knocked around but my resilience was high and we kept fighting for about 25 minutes straight.
The Chunin was getting tired at that point since he had just beat me up for 20 minutes straight. I had many bruises and cuts but they were already healing and I could’ve kept going for a long time.
The examiners had stopped the fight at that point. I was told to visit the Hokage’s Office tomorrow to get my results.
I left to go home, I got cleaned and then rested for the rest of the day.
The next day I headed rto Hiruzen’s Office to find him waiting for me.
“So Kami you did really well apparently, to start with you passed every test with flying colours and so you have graduated and are now a Genin. I have your Hitai-Ate here already but first we have some stuff to discuss” He said as he smiled at me, he was obviously proud.
“First off your Jonin Sensei, I have asked a few and many have expressed the want to train you. I believe you’d want to know so here is a list” he said as he passed me a piece of paper.
“You will be in a one man team, it’ll be just you and your Jonin Sensei since all teams are full at the moment” he said.
I looked at the list, and I saw a bunch of names I recognized. “Gekko Sensei wants to train me?” I asked as I saw his name.
“Yes he said you were very fun to train and he enjoyed how dedicated you were to learning everything he taught to you” Hiruzen said.
I hummed in thought, Kurenai and Asuma were on the list as well but I didn’t want to change those teams so much since they worked so well, I could get training in other places so I looked up at Hiruzen.
“I'd like Gekko to be my Jonin Sensei'' I said firmly and he nodded in understanding “I’ll notify him” he said.
“Now that you’re a Genin I have something I should tell you, I think it’s a good idea since it may become relevant. The reason the village has animosity towards you and Naruto” He went to explain but I cut him off.
“We’re Jinchuriki of the Nine-Tails” I said with a smile.
He raised an eyebrow as he looked at me questioningly “you know?”.
I nodded “you know that I pretty much read every book in the academy section of the library, well I found some mentions of Jinchuriki and ended up connecting the dots. The Kyuubi attacked and then it just disappeared and didn’t attack again. Us being called demons. It just made sense to me” I said with a shrug.
Hiruzen smiled at me “I really should stop underestimating your intelligence” he mumbled before reaching into his desk drawer before passing me a forehead protector.
I smirked as I put it on my forehead, adjusting it to fit nice and snug “you are now a Genin of Konoha” he said with a pride filled smile.
‘Your son is on his way to greatness Minato’ Hiruzen thought as he looked down at me with happiness.
“When am I meeting Gekko?” I asked.
“I will let him know you picked him and I'll ask him when he’s available. I’m going to be coming over tomorrow morning. I want to talk to Naruto and Sasuke and see how they’re holding up” Hiruzen said and I nodded with a smile.
“You don’t have to be worried, they’re doing good. I may not be there but i’ve given Naruto the spare key now, it’s just his so he can lock up now” I said with a smile
“If I am there I'll see you tomorrow Hiruzen” I said as I gave him a smile. He nodded and waved me off as I left his office. I moved back home and found Sasuke, Naruto, Shikamaru and Choji at the kitchen table.
“Hey guys” I said as I moved forward, they seemed to be waiting for me since they all turned to me as I walked in.
“Yes! See I told you!” Naruto shouted pointing a finger at Shikamaru as he cheered in victory for some reason.
“Well done Kami,” Sasuke said with a smile.
Shikamaru and Choji both looked at me impressed. I was confused before I remembered I had a Hitai-Ate on my forehead.
“Thanks Sasuke” I said with a smile as I gave the boy a nod.
“See I told you he was going to graduate” Naruto said to Shikamaru with a smug smile.
“Guess I was wrong,” he replied with a shrug.
Naruto’s enthusiasm ws dashed at that before he turned back to me with a grin, his excitement coming back “can you teach me Shadow Clone now?!” He asked as he looked at me hopefully.
“Did Hiruzen tell you you could?” I asked and Naruto frowned at me “there’s your answer” I said with a smirk as I crossed my arms.
“So your brother is strong then?” Choji asked as he looked at me.
“Oh yeah Kami” Naruto said, getting my attention “we want to do some morning physical training, some sparring and stuff like that as a group, you want to join?” he asked and I shrugged.
“I may not be able to, Gekko Sensei is my Jonin Sensei and you know what he’s like so I may not have the time, I’ll also have missions I need to do” I said with a shrug.
“Where are you doing them?” I asked “we’ll be meeting here and then going for a run before we go to our clearing in the forest to spar” Naruto said and I nodded.
“If I have time I’ll pop round. Also Hiruzen is coming to visit next morning to tell me when Gekko wants to meet and to see how you two are doing” I said as I gestured to Sasuke and Naruto who both nodded at me.
The next day came pretty quickly. I spent the morning chatting with Hiruzen after he had talked with Sasuke and Naruto. He left at about 8am, the boys had about 2 hours ago.
Gekko wanted to meet at 9am so I had a bit of time.
At 9am I arrived at training ground 41. The one we usually trained at, it was outside of the village but the guards knew me and Geeko well. We also had a code we’d tell them to confirm our Identities.
Most of the training grounds were outside of the village.
I saw Gekko in our usual spot and walked up to him with a smile “hey Sensei” I said with a smirk.
“Ah Kami, a pleasure as usual” he said as he gave me a nod.
“I am a pleasure to be around” I said with a smirk.
“I am glad to see becoming a Genin hasn’t changed you” he said sarcastically as he gave me a small smirk as well.
“So Sensei what now? You know most of my abilities” I said as I crossed my arms. I was in my gear, I also had my chokuto in its sheath across the back of my waist. I had moved my pouches to my hips. I had one on my right hip that had Kunai and Shuriken in it. I had no need for Senbon.
The pouch on my left hip had a few sealing scrolls in it, spare weapons, medical supplies, and food/water.
“We are going to start doing missions. I want to get the boring D-Ranks out of the way so we can get to the good stuff. It will be harder to get authorised for higher rank missions since there is only one of you” Geeko said with a sigh of annoyance.
I nodded in understanding “I am hoping that if you show that you can complete a lot of D-Ranks easily then they’ll start giving us C-Ranks” Gekko said.
“But first let’s warm up, a quick spar Taijutsu only” Gekko said with a smile before he dashed at me, he did this a lot so i had already hopped backwards to gain some space.
He came at me fast, throwing a kick that I just barely ducked under. I tried to counter with a punch but he blocked the punch with his forearm before slamming a punch into my stomach that knocked me back.
I let out a groan as I rubbed my stomach “great warmup!” Gekko said with a smirk.
I sighed “you just use these as an excuse to hit me” I said with a grumble of annoyance.
Gekko smiled and then we were on our way. We went to the Hokage Tower and to the Hokage’s office. We were let in and I saw Hiruzen smiling at me.
“Hokage Sir! Team Gekko reporting for their first mission” Gekko said as we stood at attention before the Hokage.
“Ah a pleasure, I have your mission right here” the Hokage said with a smile as Gekko stepped up and took the mission.
“I can’t wait to see how far you go young Kami,” he said with a grandfatherly smile.
“Thank you Hokage Sir, I'll make you proud!” I said firmly, we both saluted and then left the Hokage’s tower.
All our other missions would be from the mission room, it was tradition in Konoha for a team’s first mission to be given by the Hokage.
The mission was for 50 Ryo. It was a simple chore. We had to do some shopping for an old lady.
We took it very seriously though. We got to the shop by using shunshin and going across rooftops. Once we made it I made 3 clones that went and got all the groceries before they gave it to me. We then used shunshin to get to the old ladies house.
The mission was completed in 5 minutes, and we were back at the Hokage tower in another 20 seconds.
“That was easy,” I said as I stretched.
Gekko nodded “that’s D-Ranks for you” he said with a sigh.
I shrugged “and we can’t even get a bunch knocked out quickly either since Genin teams are limited to five a day otherwise there wouldn’t be enough” Gekko said.
I nodded with a sigh. We completed our other D-Ranks, all around the same payout. It seemed Ryo had a similar value to the dollar or pound. They were around the same although I wasn’t sure about that.
The value was definitely not what canon said. It was canon that 1 ryo = 10 yen but that is definitely not right in this world.
It took about an hour since we had to wait for other Genin teams to pick up their missions. Everything we could pick was easy thanks to shunshin and shadow clone Jutsu.
We moved back to the training ground and spent the rest of the day training Kenjutsu.
The next day came quickly and a nice surprise came when team Gekko arrived at the mission room. We moved up to one of the mission desks to get more D-Rank but we were surprised.
“Team Gekko reporting for a mission” Gekko said as he looked at the women behind the desk.
The woman nodded “I have a C-Rank here issued by the Hokage himself, he left this message with the mission” she stated as she passed us a scroll with a C painted on it and a letter.
I opened the letter and read the contents with Gekko.
‘Complete this in a good time frame and there may be more for you’ it read.
I smirked, Hiruzen was probably testing me.
Gekko was definitely happy about it as we left the mission room before opening the scroll then we read it.
The mission was to escort some merchants to a village named Asatori village, it was closer to the border of the Land of Fire, it would be about a 3 day trip towards the village and probably less than a day for us to get back since it would just be me and Gekko on the way back.
We had to leave as soon as possible so Gekko told me to prepare my gear for a long trip and to meet him at the gate in an hour.
I nodded and set off back home. Naruto and Sasuke were at the academy by now so I left a note on the table saying I'd be back in around 4-6 days. I left them plenty of money. Naruto knew where I stored my spare money anyway so they could get some if needed.
I packed a travel backpack with spare clothes. I had multiple copies of my ninja outfit. I put two copies in the bag as well as a bunch of spare sealing scrolls I had of spare gear. I did not have a spare sword so I hoped that it wouldn't break or be lost.
I packed some lunches for myself as well as some medical supplies. I needed to learn Medical Ninjutsu.
I then set off to the northern gate after I ate some food. I met Gekko there and soon the merchants we were guarding showed up. There were three of them and they had two caravans.
I had a feeling I knew why Hiruzen gave only team Gekko this mission.
“Only you two?!” One of the merchants said in annoyance as Gekko informed him we were their escort force.
Gekko then gestured to me as I made a Ram hand seal. 15 clones popped into existence with a large amount of smoke. They then moved around the caravans getting into position.
I slapped one across the back as it passed by me causing him to stumble and glared at me in annoyance “they are Shadow Clones so they have substance, when they are dispersed their memories are given to me so I'll send multiple to scout the area ahead of us, behind us and around us. If any are dispersed, I'll know if enemies are coming” I said as 6 of the clones took up positions to scout. One lagged behind a bit, one went ahead and the others dispersed around us in all directions.
The merchants seemed to know what the Shadow Clone Jutsu was since they looked at me in shock. They didn’t seem to know I was a Jinchuriki as well. I had my cloak on but my hood wasn’t up so my face and hair were all visible.
We soon started, Gekko sat in the front caravan beside the first merchant and I sat on the back next to the second merchant.
“So you’re a Genin?” the man sat beside me asked and I nodded.
“Wow, having that much Chakra at that age and rank is impressive, but wouldn’t a few suffice as scouts. I’m sure this used too much chakra” he said as he controlled the horses with the reins in his hands.
“I can promise you I have plenty of chakra,” I said. We fell into pleasant conversation as we rode forward. After about 5 hours into the journey we had to stop as my front clone was dispersed.
“Stop!” I shouted as I processed the memories. The caravans came to a stop and I jumped to the front where Gekko was.
“What’s up?” Gekko asked and I pointed forward.
“A bear, it’s incredibly aggressive and most likely headed this way. We want to kill it or drive it away?” I asked.
“Drive it away” Gekko and I nodded.
I created 5 more clones that dashed ahead, using shunshin to blast forward at high speeds. We saw some distance away, a few Jutsu being used.
One clone dispersed after a bit to give me the information. The 4 other clones were currently chasing the beast far away from the road, they would disperse once the bear was at a sufficient distance. I created another clone to scout ahead as we went back to our caravans once I relayed the information.
“Honestly Kami I can not put it into words how useful your clones are. Maybe even more useful than a Byakugan user since they can fight and use Jutsu” Gekko said with a smile.
Nothing else really happened before we made camp. I spent the first night on guard. We agreed I would always have clones up and we would take turns resting.
I could go for a lot longer than Gekko because of my regen and stamina. The night was uneventful besides a few wolves getting too close but they were chased off by my clones.
The next day was completely uneventful, it was the last day that something happened.
I stopped the caravan as a clone dispersed. I jumped ahead as I dispersed all of my clones forcefully before making another 15 to replace them so they had the new knowledge I had just gained.
“Sensei the forward scout noticed some things were a bit off so it went further ahead to scout, about 4 miles ahead there is a bandit ambush waiting for us” I whispered to him.
Gekko nodded “leave these clones here and we’ll go, have them focus on defence” he said.
He told the merchants what was happening and they got into one of the caravans and covered their bodies with a cloth as my clones posted up around the caravans, some scouting the forest around them.
Me and Gekko went ahead, I led to where the ambush was spotted. We were crouched down on a tree branch as we looked down at the group of bandits.
“None of them are Ninja, they’re amateurs. Kill most of them, leave a few alive to interrogate. Use brute force to knock them off balance with a surprise attack. I want to see how you do so I'll leave this fight to you” Gekko whispered to me as I nodded.
There were two groups, one on each side of the road. In total there were about 20 bandits.
I made a few clones as silently as I could as I spread them out behind one of the groups. We all flashed through hand seals as 4 Wind Release: Great Breakthroughs slammed into and tore through the ten bandits. They were killed before they even knew what was happening.
My clones then used shunshin to get to the other side. They engaged the other bandits in Taijutsu. They knocked a few out before they went through some hand seals as they used a Jutsu called Wind Release: Gale Fists that covered the users hands in sharp cutting winds.
They used it to cut the last bandits to pieces then they split up and scouted around in case we missed any.
“Well done Kami” Gekko said “efficient and well executed” he said with a nod. We moved to the ones I had knocked out and tied them up. I made some clones to carry them as we went back to the caravans after removing the few bodies that got onto the road.
About an hour later we arrived at our next camping spot and made camp. Gekko and I moved a bit away from the camp with the three prisoners.
“So any of you want to talk?” Gekko asked as he crossed his arms, fixing a cold stare on each of the bandits.
Each one had a clone behind him with a kunai in its hand. I simply stood a bit further behind Gekko. I noticed one of them looked a lot more uncomfortable than the other so I fixed a glare onto that guy.
Time to interrogate someone.
