Naruto’s Brother Chapter 1 - Kami Uzumaki

I… was dead.

I was killed by a mad man with a gun, he came into the shop I was shopping at and shot dead 15 people before he put a bullet between my eyes.

It was as uneventful as I thought death would be.

No shining light or dark abyss, no heaven or hell, there was just nothing, no feelings, absolutely nothing.

Until I saw a light, my feelings started coming back, I was in some type of liquid and I felt a presence near me.

I heard an incredibly muffled voice.

It sounded like it was… screaming.

I felt my body move as I was pushed out of a narrow opening, the presence behind me.

I was forced out and then was moved into the air.

I blacked out at that point and came to in the arms of a dark blue smudge with a white smudge in the middle of it, the presence beside me.

I realised I was a baby again and that I had just been birthed but the room I was in felt tense.

I blacked out after that realisation.

I woke up again, what I thought was a while.

That’s when it set in, I knew where I was, I knew who I was and I knew what was going on.

Because my vision had cleared enough to be able to see a few feet in front of me and two figures were laid out on the stone floor in front of me.

One with Blonde spiky hair and the other with long flowing red hair.

I looked to my right to see another baby with an intricate pattern in their stomach and I had the same one on mine.

A displacement of air and several people appeared, an old white haired man ran over and crouched down beside Minato and Kushina.

He quickly saw they were dead and then moved over to us, he seemed worried I was hurt considering I wasn’t screaming like my supposed Brother.

Hiruzen moved closer and looked me dead in the eyes, I felt like he was looking inside me and immediately knew I wasn’t normal. 

I wasn’t surprised, I would not hide, I would not act completely like a child to avoid detection since I definitely couldn’t fool every Ninja in the village.

Hiruzen looked at both of us “Naruto and Kami, you two have had your fates decided, you both are the Jinchuriki of the Nine-Tails”.

I didn’t understand all of what he said, I did understand our names and the whole Jinchurikis of the Nine-Tails.

One thought came to my mind before I blacked out again.

Well… Fuck.

4 Years Later

I woke up to a boy with bright blonde hair and shining blue eyes, three whiskers on each of his cheeks, a massive smile on his face as he got ready to jump on me.

“Naruto, you do that and you know exactly what will happen” he just grinned at me realising I was awake before he jumped.

I sighed before I simply rolled out of the way and he landed, face planting into my crappy futon.

I smirked as he came up and pouted at me.

“I’ll get you one of these days Kami!” He glared at me with determination.

I chuckled as I got up and looked around. Me and Naruto had our own room in the Orphanage since none of the kids wanted to be near us because the Matron was scared of the two Demons.

I thought maybe with my introduction, the village would think differently but the only thing that changed was that Naruto didn’t care even a small amount of what they thought.

He was sad that he didn’t have a family like the other kids in canon but he had me this time around and that was all he needed.

The kid was still the one I remembered from the show I loved, boisterous, goofy and a trouble maker, he was so full of energy, I knew it was in part of him being an Uzumaki, I had the same amount of energy he had after all.

I was an Uzumaki too.

We looked pretty much the same, some minor differences in the face area but the way to tell us apart is the hair, Naruto has his signature bright blonde hair and blue eyes and I inherited my Mother’s features, bright Red Hair and violet eyes.

I smiled at my Brother as he pulled himself up from the floor “I heard Jiji was coming over today?” Naruto asked me, he didn’t really pay attention when the Matron gave us news regarding Hiruzen.

She always gave it with disdain and regret, like she regretted ever having to be near us.

Honestly the people of his village are fucking morons, even if the Kyuubi murdered my entire family, I still wouldn’t take it out on Naruto, hell we are the only reason the Kyuubi doesn’t go for round 2.

I obviously know that wouldn’t happen, Kurama was controlled by Obito, I know that but they don’t.

They’re idiots, the lot of them.

The day went by pretty quickly, me and Naruto just played in the park near the Orphanage after breakfast.

We were called back to the Orphanage and were led into a room where the Hokage was sitting on a small pillow at a small table.

We sat down on the two pillows at the other end. 

Hiruzen took a sip of some tea in front of himself and looked at us both “so how have things been with you two?” he asked and Naruto excitedly started retelling the past few months with grandiose and excitement like they were amazing.

They weren’t, it was the same boring shit and the energy I had was only used up because me and Naruto spent a lot of time playing tag.

Thank god my Brother was an Uzumaki like me.

Hiruzen smiled at Naruto as he took deep breaths, having not taken one through his entire explanation.

“Kami? What about you?” Hiruzen asked.

I shrugged “not much has been going on, same stuff, just looking forward to the Academy, 4 more years, can’t wait”.

“Ah you still want to become a Shinobi and you have thought about it thoroughly since the last time we talked?” Hiruzen asked and I nodded.

“Of course I have, I mean no disrespect but a life changing decision as dangerous as that, of course I have thought about it, i’m not like my knuckleheaded brother” a chuckle came from the mouth of the Hokage and an indignant “hey!” from Naruto.

I smirked as my brother glared at me, his arms crossed.

“Well I bring some good news, I have decided to allow you two to live in your own apartment, you will be given a stipend and until you start at the academy, a ninja will help you get anything you need” I was waiting for this.

I knew we would be moved from the orphanage, Hiruzen knew of the disdain that the Matron gave us.

Naruto was excited but I knew I had some work ahead of me, I wouldn’t let Naruto live off instant noodles, I know how important a healthy diet is and I’ll be damned if he doesn’t have one.

I assume that the only reason his body wasn’t malnourished in the anime was Chakra, Uzumaki genes and the Kyuubi and its regenerative abilities.

The big question I have pondered is which halves do we have.

Do I have the Yin and Naruto the Yang so I just took Minato’s place or were they swapped and I had the Yang half and Naruto had the Yin.

I will find out soon.

A few years.

I am four and I have learned this was the age clan kids were taught how to feel and access their chakra, they would start doing that spiral technique that allowed you to increase your chakra reserves.

I wanted to start the same thing, I would also begin meditation so I could access my mindscape and meet Kyuubi for the first time. That would be far in the future, probably around 10 or so, maybe 9.

I want more information on Chakra and to be safe I will probably either start training chakra control at 8 when I start at the academy or if I get impatient at like 6, I won’t start before six.

I know I don’t really need to increase my reserves, I should have the same amount that Naruto had and he was on a terrible diet and so with a good one, our bodies should be stronger than Naruto’s was in the show. Granted I wouldn’t have more than him thanks to the whole Ashura Reincarnation business.

Which means that we should have more chakra because of the whole physical portion of chakra.

Anyway, back on track.

Hiruzen escorted us to our new apartment after we got the few clothes we had and then took us to the room we would be in.

We walked in and Naruto immediately went running in, running around as he excitedly looked at everything.

I smiled as Naruto ran down a hallway where the bathroom and two other rooms were located.

“Thanks Hiruzen, we appreciate it” I said to him and he simply shook his head.

“You know you can call me Jiji right Kami?” I smiled and nodded.

“Yes but I have to show respect to the man I will become stronger than, as you know, I will be the next God of Shinobi and I will be stronger than you” I shot a grin his way and he chuckled as a smile spread across his face.

“I can’t wait to see that happen Kami” he looked back as Naruto came running back to us.

“You will,” I said, determined. 

You see Naruto in the show only really had one family member and that was the Hokage.

He could have been there more for him over the course of his early years and this time, he was.

Hiruzen visited us a lot. Almost all of the time he had free time and I had grown quite fond of him, I wouldn’t let him die, It won’t happen.

Orochimaru will feel all sorts of pain if he dares even think about it.

I had plans and I didn’t care how much I changed the future, I would change it, Jirayia, Hiruzen and many others won’t die.

I knew what I wanted to do but what I wanted to do were hard tasks to accomplish and I would need a lot of power and help to reach my goals.

Luckily I have a really big headstart.

I had a lot of time before things started picking up. With Kurama, sage mode, Uzumaki blood and the Rinnegan, my enemies will fear me.

I had a lot to do and honestly not much time to do them.

Enough monologuing, I had a Grandfather to say bye to.

Naruto hugged Hiruzen as he stood at the door “I’ll come and visit you two soon, I will be busy for the next few weeks unfortunately and so I won’t be able to visit for a bit”.

I smiled and gave him a small wave “We’ll see you soon” I said as Naruto reluctantly pulled away.

Hiruzen left and I finally looked around, finding the cupboards full of everything we would need. I could cook because of my past life but Hiruzen had talked to me about this, about moving out of the orphanage, that's how I knew it was coming.

I had asked him to get books about housekeeping and cooking, so I could have a reason to know what I know and so I could see if anything was different to my world and there wasn’t much difference besides recipes simply because Konoha couldn’t get all of the ingredients I could get on Earth.

I had memorised quite a few recipes and I had decided to try and make my own. I always enjoyed cooking. I would put on music on a speaker and cook as I listened to my favourite songs.

It was always something I could do to relax and I knew I would miss it.

I just had to find something else that could relax me, I always liked reading so I could try that.

I had already shown a lot of people I was way too mature for my age and I knew Hiruzen was suspicious at first but then he realised I kind of looked after Naruto and I guess he assumed I was just more mature than I should have been because of our circumstances.

The first time I had snuck out of the Orphanage I was attacked by some drunk shinobi who hated the Kyuubi, they were quickly dealt with by the Anbu that watched over me and Naruto and they were punished by Hiruzen who made sure everyone understood we weren’t to be attacked.

The most we got was glares and insults thrown at us or me since Naruto barely ever left the orphanage from what I know.

I quickly made us something to eat and we went to bed.

2 Years Later (Kami is 6).

It has been about 2 years since we were moved from the Orphanage and now I am 6 years old, Naruto being the same of course since I believe we are Identical Twins, having the same DNA but then I have red hair and he has blonde, those are the biggest differences.

You can tell us a part pretty easily because the small changes add up to us looking different so maybe we aren’t identical, I don’t know and don’t care.

I had done what I said I would and I have been meditating and getting a feel for Chakra so I could begin.

I had also snuck off to the Academy and saw some students practising the leaf concentration exercise so I would have an excuse to practise it.

I knew the Anbu would report it if I suddenly started practising a technique I had no business knowing.

I had to be careful, I didn’t want to get locked away, them thinking I had been taking over or something.

I was impatient and I wanted to start practising chakra control since I knew I would need the practice.

Tonight would be when I start, Naruto has gone to bed and here I am, sitting cross legged on my futon, a small pouch of leaves next to me.

I shut my eyes and felt for my chakra, the feeling was peculiar, it felt like something was moving around in my stomach. It was interesting and I was sensitive to the feeling, you know since I lived for 19 years in another body that didn’t have chakra.

I took out a leaf and placed it on my forehead as I slowly channelled a small amount of chakra to my forehead and then the leaf.

I let out a yelp when a small explosion went off, the leaf turning to ash as my head was thrown back “motherfu-” the back of my head hit the futon and stopped me from completing my curse.

I rubbed my forehead that had a bit of ash on it from the leaf.

“I thought I channeled to little but aparantly not, fucking hell” I sighed as I pushed myself up and stretched my arms out going again.

A few hours passed and I took the last leaf from the pouch, glaring at it with rage in my eyes as I placed it against my forehead, closing my eyes.

I moved a tiny amount of chakra to the leaf and… “bitch!” The leaf blew up and my head swung back from the force.

Now I understood how hard it was for Naruto to get his Chakra Control down, I was using a miniscule amount of chakra compared to what I felt and it was still way too much, the blast was getting weaker, like my head doesn’t fly back as far so I am making progress but it is going slow.

A problem I am going to have is Chakra Control, the ridiculous amount of Chakra I have makes it really difficult to control it, to find the right amount of Chakra for something, you most likely need more Chakra for the tree walking technique so It may be easier which would be the reason Naruto got it so quickly or that he’s just a genius.

Until I try it I won’t know, It would probably be better to do the tree walking technique and then the leaf concentration exercise but there is no way I can think of where I could learn about the Tree Walking exercise so unfortunately I can’t do it.

It had been awhile so I laid down, got comfortable and went to sleep.

Hiruzen’s POV

As I finished up a form with my signature, a Tiger-masked  Anbu appeared in front of my desk, kneeling down as they bowed their head to me.

“Tiger what can I do for you, is everything okay with Kami?” I asked.

Tiger lifted his head and nodded “yes Hokage-Sama everything is fine with Kami, I felt I should report that Kami went to the academy and saw the Leaf Concentration exercise as you already know”.

I nodded “Yes I remember you reporting that to me” 

“Well Kami has been practising the Technique since his brother went to bed, he figured it out immediately and has been doing it ever since, we kept watch to make sure he wasn’t endangering himself and once he went to sleep, I came here to report what I saw”.

I raised an eyebrow at that, I didn’t believe that I should have told Kami off for going to the Academy since I trusted him and I thought it was just a curious kid “thank you Tiger, I will speak with him tomorrow”.

“Yes Hokage-Sama” Tiger then took off going back to his post.

 I formed a hand seal and summoned a Shadow Clone to finish up as I left to go to bed for the night.

Kami’s POV

Me and Naruto were sitting at our small dining table that had three seats at it, we were both having breakfast, some nice Miso Soup.

“This is actually pretty good, still not as good as Ichiraku Ramen, believe it!” Naruto shouted as he leaned back rubbing his belly, he wore a black shirt with orange pants, I succeeded in getting him out of that horrible jumpsuit but his favourite colour is Orange and I don’t mind the colour just the jumpsuit.

I wore a black shirt with some grey pants and black boots, Naruto wore those blue sandals that I tried to wear but gave up pretty quickly. 

A knock sounded out at the door as I was washing up the bowls we had for breakfast in “Naruto get that will you!” I shouted as Naruto came from his room and went to the door and opened it.

“Ah! Jiji!” Naruto hugged the Hokage as he stepped in, I had a feeling I knew what he was here for besides visiting us. I knew Anbu was watching both of us and I was glad, I felt uncomfortable at first but now I feel safer knowing they are around.

“Hey Hiruzen” I nodded to him as I dried my hands, Naruto took him to the table and they both sat down, Hiruzen sat in the third set, me and Naruto always sat opposite each other. 

“Want some tea?” I asked and Hiruzen nodded, Naruto asking for some coffee. I had gotten Naruto addicted to coffee, accidentally of course, I was surprised they had it but so glad they did. 

I made Hiruzen some tea and Naruto and myself some coffee.

I sat down after giving them their cups, setting mine down.

“We didn’t know you were coming here today,” Naruto said.

“Can we do something for you?” I asked and he gave me a look which told me all I needed to know.

“I am sorry Naruto but I need to speak with Kami for a minute, can you give us some privacy please?” Hiruzen said and Naruto nodded, smiling as he walked off to his room.

“I assume you know why I am here?” Hiruzen asked and I nodded “the leaf exercise?” I guessed and he nodded.

“Yes, the Anbu told me you were practising it, how has it been going?” I raised an eyebrow not expecting that.

He chuckled “I know I can’t stop you from practising it so I figured I should at least help you so you don’t do anything stupid and hurt yourself”.

“Well it is ridiculous, I assume that it's because I have way too much chakra than the average person and so I feel like I'm using a tiny amount compared to the rest and it's still way too much chakra, the leaf just explodes into ash, every… single… kami damned time” I grumbled.

Hiruzen chuckled “yes you are correct, you and your brother have a lot more chakra thant the average shinobi, even Jonins have much less than you two, it will make chakra control something very difficult for both of you” he glanced upwards like he just had a thought but was weighing the pros and cons of it.

Then he let out a sigh and glanced at me seeing my curious expression “I will definitely regret this, tomorrow an Anbu will take you somewhere, I am giving you a chance here, do everything the Anbu says exactly as they say it, I trust you and so i’ll give you this chance, be up at 6am, understand?” he said and I nodded.

“I understand,” I said.

Hiruzen nodded as he got up and went to Naruto and said his goodbyes before he went to the door, me and Naruto seeing him off.

“What was that about?” Naruto asked.

“He gave me an opportunity that I will forever be grateful for” 

“Huh? You know when you talk like that, you seem a lot older than you are” Naruto said.

“I am the Big Brother after all” Naruto glared at me pointing an accusing finger at me.

“I am the Big Brother, believe it baka!” he shouted.

“Ah ah, a big brother could cook for themselves” I said, smirking at him.

“You won’t let me!” he glared at me getting in my face.

“Because you almost burned down the apartment, moron!”.

“Hmph!” he turned, crossing his arms.

I broke down at his pout, laughing my arse off, Naruto followed pretty quickly, both of us laying down on our backs, laughing.

The day went by pretty quickly after that, I was too excited for tomorrow so It took me a while to get to sleep. 

I woke up at 5:30am, my alarm going off.

I got up and went to the kitchen, making some breakfast for myself and a lunch for later, I then made some breakfast for Naruto for when he awoke, leaving a note telling him  was with an Anbu and I wasn’t sure when I would be back.

We had Ramen cups for him to eat if I wasn’t in for some reason so he would be fine. 

A knock sounded from the door and I opened it, my bag on my back, lunch inside it.

An Anbu with a Tiger mask stood in front of me “hello, you may call me Tiger, we will be going to a training ground, would you like to run there or we can use body flicker?” Tiger said.

“Body Flicker” I said and then I walked out of the house, locking the door behind me and then Tiger placed a hand on my shoulder and we disappeared.

We reappeared in a clearing of dirt and I stumbled forward, catching myself and stopping myself from moving and throwing up.

“Well done, you handled that pretty well” Tiger said.

“Thanks” I said, hunched over doing my best to keep my breakfast in.

A few minutes passed and I stood in front of Tiger, both of us in the middle of the clearing.

“So Hokage-Sama asked me to help you with your chakra control exercise and he gave me permission to act at my own discretion so I want you to use these five leaves and I will observe and help you, understand?” I nodded as I took a seat, cross legged, taking the leaves and placing one against my forehead.

I closed my eyes and took a tiny amount of chakra and guided it to my forehead letting it seep into the leaf and… boom, the leaf blew up into ash and my head was blown backwards.

“Dammit” I grumbled as I took another and did the same thing 4 more times.

“Hmm, I see” Tiger looked at me as I stood up and brushed the ash from my clothes and forehead.

“I know I use too much chakra. Is there a way I can learn to use less?” I asked.

“No, you just keep practising the same technique, you could do that but it would take a while and I have a better idea” Tiger said, he walked up to a tree and then proceeded to walk up it and hang upside off a branch.

“I want you to try this, it is called the tree walking technique and it is what shinobi use to defy gravity and stick to surfaces, you need to channel a fixed amount of chakra to the bottom of your feet which will allow you to stick to the surface of the tree” Tiger explained as he dropped, flipping around and landing easily on his feet.

I smiled at that display before I walked over to the tree and placed a foot against it, channelling chakra to the bottom of my foot as my foot was blasted back but it was nowhere near as bad as the leaf exercise.

“Right, you are already close to getting it right, another way to do it is to run up the tree and try to reach a higher spot while channelling chakra”.

I nodded, tried it a few times like I was to get a feel for it before I walked backwards, crouching as I ran forward, pushing chakra into my feet, I sprinted up the tree, I felt a small amount of grip on it before my feet exploded, sending my back slightly as I fell backwards, slamming into the ground, the ari was knocked from my lungs as I gasped for air.

I calmed myself down and took slow breaths before I got up glaring at the tree, seeing the spot where I had got to when the bark exploded.

This continued for a few hours.

I panted, my glare fixed on the tree “stupid tree, I will conquer you!” I ran up and hopped, running up the tree and I managed to get to the top before I realised I was stuck to it, of course as soon as I realised that, my concentration slipped as I plummeted to the ground, Tiger catching me and placing me down as he nodded at me.

“Well done, now try it the first way, make sure to focus” he said.

I nodded, walking over and placing a foot against the tree, I guided the right amount of chakra to my foot, feeling it stick, I placed my other foot against it, it was sticking as well as I was now horizontal on the tree.

The grass and dirt was about a half a metre from my face and I smiled as I walked up the tree, Tiger watched as I walked up to the top and then back down again.

He seemed impressed as he handed me a leaf “now try this again”.

I nodded, sitting cross legged on the ground, I placed the leaf against my forehead and channelled a microscopic amount of chakra into it and it stuck to my forehead as I let go and after about a second it slipped off. 

“Now you have the right amount of Chakra, you now need to channel a steady stream of chakra into your forehead, you can practise that on your own, you may go home now, I may see you again but since you have completed the Tree Walking Exercise and the Leaf Concentration Exercise then I most likely won’t be training you any more” Tiger said and I nodded.

He then took me home via body flicker after I asked him to, I fared a lot better that time and then I went inside.

Hiruzen’s POV

I watched as Tiger body flickered into my office, kneeling down “Tiger how did Kami’s training go?” I asked.

“Amazingly Hokaga-Sama, Kami has successfully done the Tree Climbing Exercise and the Leaf Concentration exercise after only a few hours” I raised an eyebrow at that.

I had never heard of someone doing that technique that fast especially with those reserves, the Kyuubi’s chakra mixing with his and increasing it as well as his Uzumaki heritage means he has ridiculous Chakra levels, I believe Naruto has even more but it is hard to tell.

“Right thank you Tiger, return to your post” Tiger nodded and body flickered away.

Kami seems to be smart, I am going to help him, he wants to be stronger than me, he wants to be the next God of Shinobi and I will help him reach his goal.

Kami’s POV

Naruto pestered me until I told him what happened and we spent a while talking about it. Naruto decided he didn’t want to be left behind and said he would ask Hiruzen for training as well.

We quickly went to sleep, I was incredibly tired from the training and constantly getting slammed into the ground by gravity so I fell asleep immediately.

The next day I woke up sore and tired. I got up and stretched out my body before leaving my room to the living room/kitchen of this apartment.

I found Naruto waiting at the small table we ate at and I quickly started getting breakfast ready.

We ate and sat down at the table before we just talked for a bit.

Our conversation was interrupted when we heard a knock at the door. Naruto got up to answer it as I moved over to the kitchen with the dishes in hand.

I slowly started washing them as I heard footsteps walk into the kitchen “Kami, Jiji’s here” Naruto said with excitement in his voice.

I glanced behind me seeing Hiruzen, I smiled and gave him a nod. They both sat down at the table and I quickly finished up cleaning before I made two cups of coffee and one of tea.

I moved over and placed the cups down as I sat myself “how are you?” I asked as I sat down.

Hiruzen smiled, “I am doing quite well, Kami. I came to talk about your efforts yesterday. I know you have no frame of reference but being capable of completing both the Tree Walking exercise and the leaf excessive with your chakra reserves in a single day is monumental.

I can say with certainty that I could count the number of people that have done such a task on one hand. You obviously have talent and I want to help you bring that out.” Hiruzen said as he smiled at me.

Naruto was very clearly annoyed at being left out “I want to train too!” He said as he jumped to his feet and pointed a finger at each of us accusingly “I will not let Kami leave me behind, believe it!” He said with a massive grin.

Hiruzen chuckled slightly as he nodded “of course”.

He seemed to think for a little before he spoke “I will find a Jonin to train you both, I will have to ask around and see who is the best fit for the job, I will come visit when I have found someone, if you wish I will have Tiger run you through some physical training and chakra control training whilst I look for someone”  he said.

I nodded with a smile as Naruto nodded enthusiastically. Naruto gave Hiruzen a thumbs up and a big goofy grin.

Hiruzen smiled at our reactions before we all settled down and talked as we drank our drinks.

Soon we were standing at our door, Hiruzen had stayed much later than usual so it was time for bed.

“We need to be up at 6am, are you going to get on your own or do you need me to wake you up?” I asked Naruto as he adopted a thinking pose.

“You wake me up. There is a good chance I’ll sleep through my alarm” he said with a grin before he turned and ran to his room.

I laughed a little. He was definitely excited to get started on training, I was too but I couldn’t help but think which Jōnin would be training us.

There are a lot of them I know, but would it be one of the named ones from the show or a random one? I doubt Hiruzen would pull some of the names Jonin away from their duties to train some kids.

Or maybe he would since those kids were sons of the fourth Hokage and Jinchurikis of the nine tails. 

I moved to my room and sat cross legged on my bed before folding my arms. I hummed in thought for a bit before I just shrugged.

I’ll find out soon anyway. Hell if I remember correctly the Uchiha massacre happened when Sasuke was 7 years old. So that’ll happen in about a year so we may even get an Uchiha as a teacher.

I simply shrugged, there was no point worrying or speculating about it since I'll find out soon enough. 

The next day I found myself at a training ground. I wasn’t entirely sure which one but I was joined by Tiger and Naruto who was currently bent over a bush throwing up into it.

“I do remember saying that the body flicker sucks to experience for the first time” I said, Naruto just waved his hand in my general direction, still throwing up.

I laughed slightly as I turned to Tiger, giving him a nod.

He nodded back. We waited for Naruto to gather himself before we lined up. Me and Naruto stood next to each other, Tiger stood in front of both of us.

“So Naruto I believe a good start for you would be the two Chakra Control exercises that Kami has completed” Naruto nodded in determination “if Kami can do them then I can too”.

“You must also practise them every single day since Chakra Control is what allows us to use jutsu” Tiger explained as he watched us through that expressionless tiger mask. 

“How long did it take for Kami to do them both?” Naruto asked in a loud voice. 

“About 6 hours,” he said. Naruto nodded “i’ll do it in three” he said putting up three fingers, a massive grin spread across his face as Tiger explained how the two techniques worked.

I smiled at Naruto, I doubted he'd be able to do it in one day. Naruto was incredibly talented but I had major advantages over others when they first learned these techniques. I have an incredible sensitivity to chakra since I lived so many years without it. I know how the techniques work thanks to my meta knowledge and I have like 10 years over those people.

I smiled as Naruto immediately ran off to a tree, sprinting up it as he tried to get the technique to work.

I smirked as Tiger turned to me “now that Naruto is distracted we can move to you. Hokage-sama asked me to simply have you keep training your chakra control and to start your physical training” Tiger explained.

“Luckily you can train both” he said as he gestured to the trees “I simply want you to try and move across the treetops using the tree walking exercise and your own body’s strength”.

I nodded and immediately moved away as Tiger focused on Naruto. I walked up a nearby tree needing to focus heavily to not fall as I walked.

I decided to practise that first, I needed to be able to do it without having to focus as much. I realised the main reason I still had to focus a lot was because of the massive amount of Chakra I had.

It was kind of obvious, it’d take a lot of practice.

Hiruzen’s POV

I was unsure exactly who to pick to train young Naruto and young Kami. I needed someone who wouldn’t discriminate against them.

I had a few thoughts but then one came into my mind that I couldn’t throw away. I decided to go and see if she would be willing to impart her skills.

I soon found myself at the front door to their house, I gently knocked on the door as I took a small puff from my pipe. It was refreshing, I couldn’t smoke in the presence of Kami since he’d always give me such a disappointed look.

It hurt this old man's soul to see the young boy look at me like that. I smiled at my joke as I waited.

The door soon opened and I was greeted by a young boy with long black hair and deep black eyes. He was around 6. 

“Hello Sasuke, it’s good to see you again. Is your mother in?” I asked with a smile as Sasuke nodded slowly before he turned and ran into the house.

Soon Mikoto Uchiha walked up to the front door, she smiled when she saw me and I smiled back “Hello Mikoto, it’s a pleasure to see you again. May I come in?” I asked.

“It is a pleasure to see you as well Hokage” she said with a smile as she gestured for me to follow. I followed her into her home, glancing around as I walked.

We were soon sitting at a table, Sasuke was off in the garden practising throwing shuriken.

“So Hokage, what can I do for you? Sasuke told me you seemed to be here to speak with me” she asked and I nodded confirming her question.

“I am, I wish to ask something of you. You can say no, I know how much this will hurt you but I have to ask” I said and she gave me a suspicious look.

I smiled gently before I said “It’s about Kami and Naruto Uzumaki” I said.

Mikoto had a look of realisation before she frowned, looking down in shame “are they okay?” she asked in a low voice.

“Yes they are doing quite well since I moved them out of the orphanage, Kami in particular has seemed to take on a guardian role for Naruto. He cares for his brother greatly and does his best to protect him. I fear for anyone that insults or hurts Naruto since Kami can be quite scary” I said with a small laugh.

Mikoto seemed to cheer up at that “He sounds like Kushina” she said softly as she looked at me with a small smile “what did you want to ask?”.

“Kami seemed to take a liking to training. He is set on being a Shinobi, I am not surprised at all. Kami snuck to one of the academy training grounds and witnessed the leaf concentration exercise. 

He attempted to recreate it but couldn’t succeed. I let one of my Anbu give him some pointers and he succeeded in accomplishing both the leaf exercise and the tree walking exercise in less than a day.

When I spoke to Kami about this, Naruto decided he wanted to get involved so I decided I’d find a Jonin to give them some training before the academy. Right now an Anbu is running them both through some training exercises. 

I wanted to ask you if you’d be willing to train them both. I am hoping that some training will help them control the nine tails’ chakra when it inevitably rears its head.” I explained.

Mitoko listened patiently and nodded slowly “I have gotten a bit of free time recently since Sasuke is becoming more independent by the day.” she mumbled to herself as she gave the offer some thought. 

“You will of course be paid handsomely for the job and it may be nice for Kami, Naruto and Sasuke to become friends” I said trying to convince her. 

She hummed in thought before nodding “Okay I will but I will also train Sasuke and I will need to make sure Fugaku is okay with this first. I’ll talk to him and Sasuke and then I'll get back to you, Hokage. Now would you be so kind as to tell me a bit more about Naruto and Kami over some tea?” she asked and I smiled. 

Kami’s POV

It had been about two days since that first training session with Tiger. Naruto was close to getting the tree walking exercise down and I, after a lot of focused training, was now capable of tree walking without needing to actively think about it.

We were sitting at our living room table, having breakfast. Soon Tiger should show up and take us to the training ground. I have adapted to Body flicker now. Naruto no longer threw up but he was still nauseous.

The bell rang and Naruto got up to answer the door as I washed our dishes “Jiji’s here Kami!” Naruto shouted as he and Hiruzen walked into the kitchen and smiled at us. 

“Tea?” I asked and Hiruzen shook his head. 

“No thank you Kami, I came to deliver some news, I cannot stay for long unfortunately. I have found a Jonin Sensei who will teach you some stuff before the academy.” He said and Naruto immediately pumped a first in the air before he went off on a rant about how much he hated the tree walking exercise. 

“-and then the bark ripped off and I fell to the ground and hit the dirt hard! It hurt so much, I still have the bruises-” He was cut off as I appeared with a hand on his shoulder. 

“Naruto didn’t the Hokage just say that he couldn’t stay long?” I asked as I raised an eyebrow at him. 

“B-but-” I waved a finger at him “Nope, no buts” I said as Naruto pouted before he stormed off to his room to sulk for about ten minutes. 

I saw Hiruzen looked a bit worried but I waved him off. 

“He does this a lot, he tries to guilt me into apologising but then after about 10 minutes he realises it’ll never work and has never worked so he just comes back out and continues on like nothing happened. I love him but damn he can be a baby sometimes” I said with a low whistle. 

“I heard that!” Naruto shouted from his room.

“I know” I shouted back flatly as Hiruzen started laughing. 

“Well do be sure to tell young Naruto that your training with the Jonin will start tomorrow, Tiger won’t be training you today. She will come here to pick you up for the first lesson but afterwards you’ll be expected to make your own way there at the correct time” Hiruzen explained and I nodded.

“Sounds good to me” I said. We both looked over as Naruto came sprinting into the room “who is she?! Is she a badass!?” He said in excitement as he started punching the air, fighting an invisible opponent. 

Hiruzen narrowed his eyes slightly at Naruto’s language before he glanced over at me. I sheepishly rubbed the back of my head “I may or may not have accidentally taught Naruto a few words” Hiruzen let out a sigh.

“Yes I guess she is a… badass” Hiruzen said flatly as Naruto pumped a fist in the air in excitement before he went back to doing karate. 

I chuckled at his shenanigans as I crossed my arms “so I believe that’s it?” I asked and Hiruzen nodded “then you have work to be getting on with” I said as I shooed Hiruzen out of the apartment with a smile. 

He chuckled as he left, Naruto gave him a long hug before he left, we waved him off from our front door as he walked away.

The rest of the day passed by quickly in our excitement. 

The next soon arrived and we stood at our front door having already eaten breakfast, we were both excited. Naruto because he was meeting his sensei for the next two years.

I was excited because I was most likely going to meet a named character or at least I was hoping I was going to.

Soon a knock sounded on the door and before the women even had a chance to finish knocking, Naruto ripped the door open and greeted the women with a large grin.

I wasn't able to get out a greeting since I was overcome by surprise as I looked at Mikoto Uchiha, Sasuke’s mother and Kushina Uzumaki’s best friend. 

Well I wanted to meet a named character. Guess I got my wish.
