Charades

The trial is going badly; we’ve already lost twice already. Bunny had told us the charades topic was everyday common objects, but our guesses were all wrong. Are these actually supposed to be everyday items??? I am starting to panic a bit.

First, Maria went. Her acting was so confusing that my guesses were based purely on the number of letters in the word. Then Mahin took her turn. Her actions were so vague that my answers were just wild. I even guessed “windmill” for one of her turns. Hate to admit it but the game is going badly.

"Who is going nexttt?" Bunny asks

I decided to volunteer by raising my hand. Something seems wrong with the game and I want answers.

"Go ahead and pick the card with number 3 written~" bunny said in a sing song manner.

I find his voice quite irritating currently. But I better calm my sudden anger before I mess something up.

When I pick up the card, everything suddenly makes sense.

The card says

| Your word is makeup |

|Act the word out and if it is guessed |

|wrong then your individual debt will |

| decrease by 500 thousand. But if | |guessed correctly the trial ends. |

It appears Mahin and Maria were intentionally acting out the words out badly. I think I might have figured out what strategy they had in mind.

If my guess is correct, then Mahin and Maria’s strategy was to intentionally make us guess incorrectly, with the aim of letting the final person correctly act out the word. This approach would reduce more debt than simply completing the trial.

The plan seems effective with a sure way to win at first, but it has several overlooked flaws. First, there’s no guarantee that we will guess the word correctly. Second, although the card numbers indicate the order of playing, the final card's word is most likely to be the most challenging one. Possibly the fourth word could be significantly harder to guess ,as well when compared to mine.

The narrative has been illicitly obtained; should you discover it on Amazon, report the violation.

Whoever designed this game likely anticipated that one of us would uncover the flaws in the debt reduction plan, as well as expected that we would try to reduce the debt in the first place through this plan.

Did Maria and Mahin genuinely overlook the flaws in the plan or was it on purpose. Is one of them intentionally trying to sabotage the trial? What if there’s a hidden penalty for failing that Bunny didn’t mention? Can I really-

"Are you ready yet? time is precious you know" Bunny's voice breaks my flow of thoughts

I am grateful for Bunny's voice now. I feel kind of sorry that I got irritated by his voice before.

I confidently nod my head to show a yes.

I take a deep breath then I begin my turn by signing the number of letters in the word with my fingers. Then, I mimic the process of applying lipstick, wearing eyeshadow, followed by drawing on eyeliner, then brushing on blush, and finishing with applying nail polish. I try to make each gesture as clear as possible to ensure the word is guessed correctly.

"That's the end of one minute" Bunny signals "Now everyone enter your guesses in the box"

Everyone starts putting their slips of paper containing their guesses.

Deva has the highest chance of guessing the word correctly since she is very familiar with makeup, but considering Safa and her intellect she also has a high chance.

I don't think Maria nor Mahin would try to guess correctly. Though I feel a bit uneasy when thinking about them, I honestly think that they followed the debt reduction strategy in the spur of the moment without thinking things through.

Currently Bunny is seeing the guesses written. I see his usual smile turning into a sad frown. Is that a good sign ?

Bunny announces loudly, "Well everyone, that concludes the first trial the second trial will begin shortly. You all can speak again now, but those who saw the cards are not allowed to discuss them."

We all leave out a breath of relief.

Now I see how these trials are designed to break friendships. They intentionally foster a sense of mistrust, and the rule against discussing the cards only increases suspicion among us. However, it is best that the cards aren’t discussed. It might cause conflicts.

I hate these trials already but I have to get these idiots out of here safely.
