I’m going to steal the PoV for a second, if that is alright?
Go ahead.
...
No, actually do not go ahead. You were in that cafe yesterday, and you stood me up. You looked me in the eye, and ran away. What the heck dude!
As I said, I’m going to steal your PoV for a minute explain everything and then ... we can dramatically get together, vow to never see each other again, or wait for another convenient plot twist to happen, okay?
... Fine.
Where should I begin ...
Actually, fuck it, I’m gonna clear that mess from yesterday up later, because first of all I need you to know: I really like you! And I’m sorry I’ve stood you up. I’ve been wanting and dreading to meet you at the same time for months. And I promise I did not freak out, because I saw you for the first time ever yesterday, okay?
O- Okay?
Actually, yeah, yesterday wasn’t the first time ever that I saw you. But you don’t remember that do you?
Wait what?!
Sigh, let me explain.
About Crush’s Crush
A Story in Three Parts
Part 1: Meeting
How did you just do that?
Don’t ask too many questions.
When we first talked, if you can even call it that, we didn’t really talk, right? I got into the DnD group via one of your friends who I met once and don’t even remember their name.
Yeah, I get that, everyone else’s name is just too bland.
Right? What was up with our parents?
Anyway, literally everyone was using their camera, except for you. But your voice! That of an angel! For the most part I wasn’t sure if that was your natural way of speaking, or if you were a voice actor, because I could not imagine anyone other behind your voice, than Gaia, the destroyer.
So I shot you a message.
Might as well try to make friends online, if I’m stuck at home during this pandemic.
We chatted, it was nice.
I stuck around, it was great.
I’m not really sure if you got into this whole V-Tubing thing before or after, but once I knew you were doing that whole streaming thing, I kind of wanted to join in. I didn’t have much experience with streaming, or V-Tubing in particular. Save for a few lets play videos I made, when I was 14. But who didn’t, right?
...
You’re going to laugh, when I tell you this: I sort of started streaming just because of you. I- My reasoning was: “Oh, if I start V-Tubing, maybe we can both play together some time,” or something.
Ugh ... haha, we didn’t! But that was cool. We still talked almost everyday.
But ...
...
Hm.
Well, might as well go to the next part.

Part 2: Not Meeting?
I already told you how I felt about meeting you, didn’t I?
I’m sure you’ve noticed there were a couple of close calls: Like the first irl meeting of the DnD people.
And so far the only one.
Good, I was wondering about that. It’s been weeks, if not months.
Since you might have been asking yourself that: Yes, I was actually sick. Though, in a way it was a blessing in disguise. My anxiety just the day before was making me physically sick almost. Like, breaking into a cold sweat, getting all jittery, as if I just drank a liter of pure caffeine.
After that, I was honestly surprised to have you invite me to a party.
With the irl meet-up it would just have been us hanging out with a mutual group of friends, but with the party, it was your invitation. You wanted me to be there. That made me feel better about myself.
Did you go to the party? I couldn’t find you.
Yeah, I figured you’d say that.
You don’t remember anything, do you?
Well, I might have gotten wasted ... a bit.
Yeah.
I can feel your internal screams.
Yes, it was one heck of a first impression you could say.
I was talking to someone whose face I can’t even remember at this point. You managed to locate me, somehow. You slung your arm around my shoulder and said something I also can’t remember because we were both drunk. You didn’t talk clearly, I couldn’t hear you properly, because you know how it is with parties.
I assume you were pretty disturbed, being attacked by a rando all of a sudden.
Nah, I was chill. Actually, I was a bit stoned at the time, so I just laughed it off and had fun.
How did you know it was me?
Uhh, this is where it gets sort of complicated. Weird. Esoterical, one might even say.
I didn’t. You told me your name, your real name, but how was I supposed to know, who you really were.
By the way, terrible naming sense from your parents. I think I only understood after the party ended, that you were telling me your name was Guy. I think it was the weed that helped me understand.
Somehow I put one and one together and arrived at the conclusion, that you might be my weird online friend. I didn’t know for sure though, until I saw you in the cafe.
Which brings us to the next and final part.

Part 3: Fucking Up
Oh how cute, you seem to have regrets!
...
Keep going with that foul mouth and I might reconsider.
How do I best explain yesterday to you?
I could reiterate my fear of meeting you once more, but I think you got the point.
Speaking of the point, maybe I should just get to it real quick.
Well, now I’m curious.
...
I can see your smirk ...
Ummmmm, Erika is my Ex.
...
I can see your mind trying to process that.
...
Umm, yeah. Quick question. Sorry, if it’s rude, but what exactly is going on with your sexuality, because I am confused.
Yeah, I am just as confused. I’ve dated guys and girls and femboys too, I guess.
Oh right, Erika works at an Otokonoko Cafe, so she’s a cis-guy. Right?
Yep, but that’s besides the point.
Sigh.
To make a long fucking story short, Erika and I had a pretty bad break-up. We’ve been together – and broke up – before the pandemic, so it wasn’t on my mind at all, when you suggested to meet up in that cafe. You know, I was thinking she probably got laid-off or quit or whatever. And even if not, what were the odds of her taking a shift during that one hour or so I’d have to visit the cafe.
But no, she was in fact serving our table.
And you bolted.
...
Because your ex was there?
...
Jesus Christ, you have, like, no balls.
And yet you somehow mustered up the courage to show up at my doorstep. How do you know my address, by the way?
Val told me.
How does she know?
I- Nevermind.
I didn’t want things to get awkward during our first meeting, yet I made them even more awkward in the end.
Not gonna lie, the whole situation in general was ... the definition of awkward. I mean, I’m the dude who pretends he’s a girl for clout online. And then I asked you to meet me in a fucking Crossdressing Cafe. Like, what is wrong with me!
Heheh.
Hah ...
Guess we’re both pretty messed up in our heads.
Yeah.
Look, this ... did not turn out to be this over-the-top moment everyone was hoping for, where I run after you, because I wronged you and then we hug and cry and kiss.
Yeah, if I didn’t lie to you about who I was, this whole mess would not have come to be ...
It was a pretty epic mess though.
The point I’m trying to make is: I wouldn’t mind being your friend. If you can forgive the emotional torment I put you through.
I feel like you shouldn’t be apologizing. I lied about ... most of myself. You ... You just bolted yesterday, and gave me the shock of a lifetime.
...
You could have said something about us meeting during the party actually. But still, the blame is all on me.
...
If we ever tell this story to someone they won’t believe how we met, hahah.
...
Does that mean we’re friends, or ...
Friends is fine. I wouldn’t mind the occasional date though, wink.
Hahah, you dork.
Cool.
...
You’re cute.
...
You’re hot.
...
Anyway, I was actually in the middle of a stream, when you rang the door bell, sooo ...
Oh, sorry I’ll get out of your hair. Talk to you later?
Later.
