“Oh wow,” I said. “That’s horrible. I don’t remember anything.”

“No shit.”

“Did I, in my drunken stupor, maybe say anything?”

“Nope, you just muttered non-sensical bullshit. Though, to be fair, I also had a few drinks, so maybe I just didn’t understand you properly.”

“Oof, I ... don’t know what to do now!”

“Have you checked your phone, since you woke up? Maybe he texted you,” Val offered. I hadn’t even considered. But to be fair, I woke up 10 minutes ago from drunken sleep. I wasn’t really there yet, mentally.

I searched for my phone hastily, finding it in my jeans pocket.

“No message from him ...” I didn’t know how to feel anymore. Relieved, disappointed, embarrassed, angry? How was I supposed to feel about something that I didn’t remember?

I absentmindedly scrolled up and down my other notifications as I slowly dissociated, my vision becoming blurry. I snapped back to reality, as I noticed something.

“What the heck, my twitter notifications exploded over night!”

If you encounter this tale on Amazon, note that it's taken without the author's consent. Report it.

“Huh? What’s that about?” asked Val, slowly leaning over to look at my screen as well.

The tweets that grabbed my attention read as follows:

[Omg, what was that GaiVal stream? Two absolute fucking disasters]

[Nothing will ever match the relationship drama between V-Tubers]

[Istg, I never ever would have thought to see a bisexual love triangle unfold between my favourite V-Tubers]

[Why can’t anybody be as whipped for me as Gaia is for Crush lololol]

[I love, how I can’t tell, whether it’s genuine drama. Like, none of the three are with an agency. If they were with LolHive, sure as heck it was all scripted. But now it’s all up in the air]

[THEY ARE IN LOVE]

Reading through all that felt exactly like reading through a bunch of stan tweets. I had no idea what was going on. It was all excitement no substance.

“Do you understand what the heck is going on?” I asked Val.

“No clue ... but I have a bad feeling ...” she said, pointing her finger at the tweet that said something about a stream.

“Fuck no.”

I opened up Twitch on my phone. Going into my account I couldn’t find a recording from that stream that supposedly took place. So I searched up Val’s channel and there it was ...

The title of the recording was “fo8azdv ke3uao8va” and honestly I wouldn’t be surprised if twitter stans tried to decipher what was obviously just a random keyboard smash. Judging from the thumbnail, it looked like just another stream. Although I noticed, that one of Val’s avatar’s eyes was drooping and half transparent. Her head was also tilted at an unnatural angle.

“This reminds me of Doki Doki Citerature Llub, if I’m being honest,” I commented.

“Honestly I am relieved, we didn’t accidentally stream without the overlay ...”

“I don’t really wanna see this,” I said, as I pushed the play button.
