When I heard the crack my whole body jolted and my breathing quickened. Making me realise how tense I have been, even my hands have become numb after how hard I have been holding the club. As quietly as I could I tried to peek over the edge to try and see what the sound came from. Surprisingly the only thing I could see was the ground and nothing else. I tried all I could but I did not see anything, thinking that the nerves had gotten to me and I was just hearing things.
I went back into the crack. But right as I was getting comfortable I heard another crack. I thought to myself that now there really was something down there and I peeked again but as before there was nothing I could see. But this time right as I was going to go back I heard something in the distance. I have heard plenty of roars up to this point, but this time it was different. It gave off a feeling of death, it was not nearly as strong as the feeling the Braken gave off but it was still above what I felt from the creature that made me run away when I was fighting the cat.
I still felt safe because it sounded quite far away but as I looked over at where the sound was coming from I saw movement in the corner of my eye. I quickly looked back to try and see what it was I had seen and unlike before I saw something exactly where the sun was shining on the ground. But weirdly enough what it saw made my vision blurry, it was like when you really focus on something and the area around it becomes blurry. It was exactly like that but in one specific spot, It was only when I focused hard enough that I could see the outline of what looked like a really big snake. Even without what ever made it blurry it still looked extremely camouflaged. It was no wonder I had not spotted it before, I don't even think that I would have spotted it now if it weren't for it raising its body up. I knew that this was the moment to act, as I prepared myself by putting my feet at the back of the hole's hard wooden surface and only holding myself up with my hands while I had the club ready to go in my right hand.
It was almost like a squatted position only horizontally and I hoped that it would work like a spring and I would be able to push as much of my power through my legs, sending me forward. I looked and I could see that it was still there, I prepared myself mentally as this would be my first real life battle. When I focused I managed to discover a warm and pleasant energy that was slowly circulating inside of my body, when I felt that it was time the energy inside of me started to stir and before I knew it it had become a raging current that gave me strength. And before I knew it I was flying through the air towards the beast, it was like my instinct had taken over and it knew where I needed to land and what I needed to do. I hurriedly raced my club with both hands while I was in the air and struck down with all my strength.
I was going so fast that I didn't even know if I was the beast. All that I knew was that I felt a force that was so strong that made it impossible for me to still hold onto my club. When I fell to the side after the attack all I could hear was a spine crawling screech that made my ears go numb. As I hurriedly stood up to see what had happened I could see the snake wriggle on the ground, I still looked like it was screaming but what was weird is that I could not hear it. I felt around my ears with one of my hands and surely enough there was blood coming from them. The snake was still thrashing around even after a while, I could see the indentation on its head and there was blood coming from the damaged area.

This has to end, I don't even know if this beast can regenerate like what has happened to me. I looked around trying to find the club but it was nowhere in sight. While this happened the snake had started to calm down, I did not know if it was because the wound was finally doing its job or if it was getting its bearing back. All I knew was that it was time to make my move. I started to slowly creep towards it going from the back to its head. The snake must have been at least 15 metres long and 50 cm in diameter at the thickest part. I was also glad that it had finally stopped doing whatever I have been doing to my vision. I was about a metre from the head when it had calmed down enough to sense me and then it started to thrash around again, but as I was only a metre away I was fast enough to jump and land with my tights between its body right below its head. I squeezed with my thighs trying to stay on but it was much harder than expected.
It still fought with vigour. I realised that this would not work and that I would be thrown off shortly. When I tried to grab the snake with my hands I also realised that its scales were harder than rock, thinking of where the beast was the most vulnerable, made me instantly think of its eyes. I straightened out my hand and jammed it right into its eye with as much force I could muster. I did not know what to do after that so I just started to feel around and anything that I could grasp I crushed with my hand. With one last spurt of energy the snake threw me off and made me land in front of it. But before I could get up again I saw that the snake was already above me with its mouth wide open ready to kill me.
I did not know what to do, and the only thing that I could think of was to try and kick it away and that's what I did. As the snake bit down my leg was already in its mouth. I could feel its soft tissue around my foot, I knew that my plan had failed as its mouth had already closed. It was so fast that I could not even register the pain. It was only when the sound of a crack echoed around me that I felt a pain that was worse than anything I have ever felt. I screamed but that did not lessen it in any way. The snake seemed to be dead now so I pulled my leg out which made it even more painful. But this time I just gritted my teeth even when I did not want to do anything other than scream. I knew that time was of the essence and I had to get out of here.
I looked down, half expecting my leg to be completely gone. But all that I could see was two big teeth stuck to my leg and the black coat that looked completely fine except two small indentations. I removed the coat even when I still felt a throbbing pain that coursed through my body. I saw my leg and expected it to have been completely mangled. Sure it still was but at least it was still connected to my body, I already knew that the inside of my leg was completely destroyed but I felt happy that it was still there. I know that I have to get out of here in case any predators or anything else comes. I did not know what to do except to start crawling, I really wanted to take the corpse with me to show to poly but I knew that it would be impossible. Even if I was fully healed the beast must weigh at least a ton. I guess the teeth have to be enough for now. I already figured that the energy inside of me helped with the pain because my leg was starting to become bearable to endure. I did not know when the energy would run out, but after sensing that it was less then before the fight I knew that it would and I did not want to be in this forest when it did, even worse was that the sun was starting to set and I did not have much time before it was dark. So with gritted teeth I started my journey back.
