Aurelian's determination

Chapter 11:

“Don’t fail me, Aurelian!” Oliver said, just as he passed out. His loyal minion had received his master's orders and carried them out. When Aurelian entered the boss room, his eyes shined bright red, different from his usual purple. This bright crimson mirrored that of his resolve, his determination to kill this boss in front of him.

The creature Aurelian had to fight was a high priest. Not something you would expect to find in a dungeon, but formidable nonetheless. The high priest wore white garments, a white helmet that covered his entire face, and a gold sash around his waist. Behind the priest was a glowing gold halo, it shined and lit the room with holy power.

“Who dares to enter my lord's domain!?” Shouted the priest.

There was no reply, only a roar from Aurelian. The salamander looked down to the high priest and charged. Running faster than it has ever before, Aurelians eyes shined even brighter as the High Priest got into range of his tails attack. Aurelian swung his body around, using his long pointed tail to hit the high priest and fling him to the wall of the room.

“How dare a meanly undead hit me!” The halo on the priest shined brighter and the priest stuck out his hand from his robe. From the priest's silver gauntlet, flew an orb of light. The orb dashed to the undead lizard and hit Aurelians face. Aurelian’s body cracked, a big hole now sat in Aurelians forehead, just before his many horns.

Aurelian did not back down, it had an order, it couldn’t back down. The lizard charged the priest again and grabbed hold of the priest in his jaw. Aurelain swung the priest across the room, hitting a pillar, and falling to the floor. Blood spat out from the helmet covering the priest's face. The priest didn’t make a noise of pain, only looked up at the lizard approaching him. Then, the high priest stood up, wiping the blood from his helm.

“How dare you make me bleed! In the name of my lord, I send you to the grave!” Shouted the priest as his halo glowed brighter once again, covering the entire room in light. The high priest now held a giant hammer. “DIE!” Screamed the priest.

Aurelian, in the next second, was struck by the hammer and split into a million pieces. The priest was now behind the undead lizard and stood victorious.

“HAHAHAHA, NONE SHALL WIN OVER ME!!” He shouted and the ground shook. The high priest set down his hammer and proceeded to go back to wear while he was sleeping, an incredible drowsiness had just descended upon the priest's body. He dropped his hammer and it disappeared into holy light.

Just before the priest could fall back into his slumber, his drowsiness immediately left him. Behind him, the priest could feel immense power and a killing intent that revealed that of demons. The high priest turned around to see two bright crimson eyes and the lizard's shadow in front of him. All of a sudden, the pieces that once made up the lizard started to converge back onto the shadow and piece by piece, Aurelian was reborn, his crimson eyes now covering the room with killing intent.

“ROARRRRR!!!” The lizard was back on his feet now even more angry. Aurelian charged once again to the priest and once again the priest was flung to the wall, but this time Aurelian was right on top of the priest. Over and over, the lizard swung the High Priest to the walls. After a while, the priest was now dead, his body now mangled beyond recognition. Aurelian tore the body apart, spreading all of the Priest's limbs far and wide across the room.

Aurelains eyes began to return to their normal purple, and he approached the chest that had just appeared. The lizard grabbed the chest, fitting it inside of his mouth, and carried it out to his injured master.

Upon returning to his master, Aurelain sat before Oliver and dropped the chest in front of Oliver's torn shoes.

“Is that you, Aurelain?” Asked Oliver in a whisper. He opened his eyes and saw the salamander in front of him. With what strength he had left, he opened the chest with his foot, and inside was a pouch of gold and jewels, and a sword. The sword gave off an immense light, holy light, it was decorated in gold and silver inlays. The blade is made of pure mythril.

“Heh…hehe. I was hoping for a healing pendant.” Said Oliver.

A few brief moments passed and Oliver was about to pass out once more, perhaps for good.

“No… not yet, there's still so much I want… I need to do it.” Thought Oliver.

“Good heavens, you’re about to die.” Said the familiar voice from the character creation.

Oliver didn’t respond, all of his efforts were lasting just a minute more.

“Aurelian, bring your master the corpse of the thing you just killed.” Said the voice.

Aurelians eyes then glowed blue and he moved into the boss chamber. A few moments later, Aurelian brought out the corpse of the high priest. Its limbs separated from its body, its halo no longer drawn to his head.

“Oliver, make this boss your minion, now.” Ordered the voice.

Oliver had no other choice, the voice had never wronged him, what was there to worry about. With the last of Oliver's strength, he opened his hand and pointed it to the pile of limbs and blood stained white robes. Luckily, Olivers mana had been recharged and he was sitting at a humble 1500.

“Ari–ise.” Whispered Oliver. Then the separated limbs of the dead high priest began to move, the disconnected arms and the legs moved back to the torso, the white robes turned black, and inside the now black helm bright purple eyes opened.

The high priest was now standing, its robes black, its gauntlets gray, and its once golden eyes now shined purple. The high priest was no longer and now, what stood in front of Oliver was a Dark Priest.

“My master!” The dark priest kneeled down. “What is your bidding?”

“He–heal.” Spoke the dying Oliver.

“As you command!” Said the Dark Priest. In the next instance, a dark halo flew from the boss room and hooked onto the Dark Priest. The Dark priest held out both of his gauntlets to Oliver and Oliver's body began to heal. His broken and infected arm now emitted a mist, and the bones began to morph back into place. Oliver was silent for a moment, but then began to scream, the pain of bones moving back into place was unimaginable, the anguish tore into Oliver's mind and nearly drove him to madness.

At the precipice of insanity, Oliver's pain stopped, and he opened his eyes. In Front of him was a kneeling black figure, the dark priest, and a sitting Aurelian wagging its long tail.

“Welcome back my master.” Said the Dark Priest. “I am terribly sorry for the pain I put you through.”

Oliver stood up, his pain now gone entirely. “Thank you.”

“Of course master.” Replied the kneeling dark priest.

“Get off your knees.” Ordered Oliver.

“As you wish.” Spoke the Dark priest with respect.

Oliver approached the dark priest and thanked him. After that, he thanked Aurelian. Oliver then approached the chest and picked up the pouch of valuables, the sword, and the information scroll. He read the scroll with his newly healed hand, the sword in his other hand, and the pouch of valuables now attached to his belt.

Holy Sword Gram/Holy Relic - A holy sword capable to slashing undead to pieces - Rare

Bag of Valuables/Currency - People value treasures like gems and gold, use them to trade for resources.

Oliver laughed, “How ironic, this has got to be a joke. A holy sword that kills Undead in one slash, how wonderful.” Oliver said sarcastically.

“Don’t like it? Fine, I thought it was funny, but just this time, okay.” The voice again spoke.

Then, all of a sudden, The sword felt different in Oliver's hand. He held it up and glanced at it. The sword was completely different, instead of the light colors it was, it transformed into a dark sword. The hilt was no longer silver and gold, now it was black and crimson. The blade was not as thick, and it made the weapon look like a long sword instead of the wider blade it was before.

Oliver once again looked at the open scroll and it was different, altered, changed by something.

Sword of Darkness(Alive)/??? - A dark blade, sharper than diamonds, it will obey it’s master - Epic

Bag of Valuables/Currency - People value treasures like gems and gold, use them to trade for resources.

Oliver was confused, why did the voice change the sword? Was this all just a game for the voice, he wondered. In his confusion, the sword slipped out of his fingers. But the sword didn’t fall, instead it was located just off of the ground. Oliver was shocked, he tripped.

“Master, are you okay?” Asked the Dark Priest, helping its master off the floor.

“Yes, I was just shocked.” Replied Oliver, looking in awe at the floating sword.
