Boring… it is a word I use often as far as I can remember… but who can blame me?
This world is such a bore. Sure, I get to fight superheroes and villains, defeat world-ending calamities but…
It was getting tiresome…
Also boring, as I have done everything I can in this place.
I fought with superheroes and humiliated them thousands of times even as they constantly ambushed me out of nowhere to become a little more famous, I suppose.
I also fought with murderhobo wannabe edgelords and even maimed them thousands of times, but then they started buying cybernetics and getting even more cringe as they started ambushing me night after night whenever I strolled, uncaring about collateral damage.
I investigated several homicides with my friends just to get a powerful man arrested. He did get out a few days later though. Power of money, I suppose.
I cursed him that night with madness in my frustration as they locked him into an asylum. That prick deserved it.
And I literally did this thousands of times...
It was getting tiresome...
Doing the same thing over and over and over again and expecting a different response each time...
Maybe I'm insane after all...
Anyway, I was getting plenty of leeway as long as I didn't kill my opponents.
No killing rule was ridiculous, I say, but there are probably good reasons behind it…
That's fine and dandy but…
You can’t even go into outer space without permission as they police every corner of the known universe…
Sure it is not a realistic goal anyway but...
I just wanted to watch the Earth from outside while sipping my whiskey…
Maybe gamble on alien planets as I eat weird dishes….
None of these are possible, unfortunately. Maybe if I can take over the world somehow...
No, too many annoyances. I shook my head and went to my room.
My room was the same as usual, faint blood stains on the wooden floor, cold air that smelled like death as the very air froze my breath, even as souls of the damned echoed in the background.
'Home sweet home.' I thought, and closed the door, then sat down on my bed close to windows, thinking long and hard. Ultimately, there was only one solution to my predicament.
‘A simple vacation.’ I thought and withdrew my map from the drawer near my bed.

[ᛞᛖᛏᛖᚲᛏ ᛚᛁᚠᛖ] I spoke simple words of power as the spell revealed thousands of universes on my map.
[ᛞᛖᛏᛖᚲᛏ ᛗᚨᚷᛁᚲ] I spoke as my throat burned but the spell still revealed millions of universes on my map…
How annoying…
How to narrow it down, I wonder?
Oh it could work..
[ᛞᛖᛏᛖᚲᛏ ᛗᚢᚾᛞᚨᚾᛖ] I uttered followed by [ᛞᛖᛏᛖᚲᛏ ᛚᛁᚠᛖ] again even as my throat screamed in protest.
But it was worth it. I finally found a mundane universe…

Sounds of footsteps outside of my room distracted me as I was ready to head out.
Someone banged their fists on my door and spoke.
“Can we talk about this…?” asked a female voice hesitantly, sounding like my daughter, Eliza.
“There is nothing to talk about… I’m tired of this place.” I said tiredly as I coughed blood.
“Are you okay?!” cried Eliza “Please at least take care of yourself!”
“Yeah, yeah okay. Don’t worry about it” I replied absentmindedly, about to resume my work.
“Promise me!” yelled Eliza “Or I call grandfather.”
Grandfather? Oh my father, Elias…
It could get tricky
“I promise.” I said with serious tone
“Well as long as you take care of yourself it is good!” said Eliza relieved and continued “By the way if you come across my daughter or son, can you send them over? I have a bad feeling…”
“Is it your clairvoyance acting again?” I asked and continued“ I'll send them over if I come across them, but you know how they are.”
“Yeah,” said Eliza “They are in a rebellious phase, maybe drop my name? As long as they get the message it is fine.”
“Then it is settled.” I replied, “You take care of yourself too.”
“I will,” said Eliza “ Goodbye father, have a safe journey…”
“Goodbye…”

As I was about to resume my work, the air shimmered with blue light.
And someone teleported over.
It was my mother, Elizabelle
“Mother…” I spoke but was interrupted.
“If you are going to go, do it properly” she said as she tossed my book to me.
The Necronomicon…
“You know what book did to me but you still gave me this?” I asked, raising an eyebrow.
“It is part of the learning experience… Surely you didn’t think you were the only one with secrets?” replied my Mother, grinning evilly.
“Maybe, maybe not, it doesn't matter. I can’t take this.” I said, shaking my head as I was about to throw the book.
“Don’t worry, you are strong enough to resist its influence now. Besides, it could come in handy someday. Who knows?” replied my Mother, looking secretive as always.
I sighed and replied,
“Fine, now would you kindly repair my walls as you head out?”
“Sure honey.” replied my Mother as she walked away.
I’m probably older than you, I grumbled internally as she headed out.
[ᚱᛖᚹᛁᚾᛞ] she muttered as the wall slowly knitted itself together.
Great, no more interruptions, I thought, and drew complex sigils with my blood on the ground.
And uttered words of power…
[ᛟᛈᛖᚾ ᛏᚺᛖ ᛋᚴᚤ]!
Waves of spatial energy fill the room, but it is not enough…
I shouted while slamming my will onto spell
[ᚤᛟᚢ ᛞᚨᚱᛖ ᛏᛟ ᛞᛖᚠᚤ ᛗᛖ]!
It was still not enough, but spatial waves distorted and cracked the space as it let out howl…
It was still not wide enough. I thought and slammed my soul into the crack as it finally shattered like glass.
And I hurled my body towards that open rift…

When I came into my senses, I was in the forest.
You know brown and green. Boring kind…
Maybe I should find a beach or something, I thought, as a presence I’m not familiar with, fills the forest.
I was interrupted from thinking further as I heard screams from behind me.
“Uwabunga!” yelled a gray-skinned creature as it let out a shriek towards me as others let out similar shrieks.
Curious…
My spell revealed this place to be mundane, but they are anything but mundane…
Interesting… but ultimately pointless.
I was on vacation after all, not here to solve supernatural problems.
Still, it can't hurt to be more knowledgeable, I thought, and instantly my eye irises turned black as I activated my inherent magic. Specially crafted for such situations.
[ᚠᛖᚨᚱᛋᛟᛗᛖ ᛋᛏᚨᚱᛖ]!
They began to let out shrieks as they got stricken with horror.
I unhurriedly walked towards them as they began to faint one by one.
I grabbed one by the collar as I uttered simple words of power.
[ᛗᛖᛗᛟᚱᚤ ᚨᛒᛋᛟᚱᛈᛏᛁᛟᚾ]
It let out one final shriek as it became braindead.
Memories instantly flood into me, overloading my senses until everything becomes fuzzy.
I killed the spell as it was gibberish to begin with.
What a fucking waste of time I thought, as presence I’m not familiar with retreated.
I was being watched, it seems…
Just then, on one of the tree lines someone appeared.
Someone I’m pretty familiar with.
What is she doing here? I raised an eyebrow as creatures behind me began to stir.
