Just as Sean's finger tightens on the trigger, a bolt shoots through the air, impaling his hand and sending the gun flying. Sean's cry of pain echoes through the room as he clutches his impaled and bleeding hand. Kate's blurred vision struggles to focus without her glasses, but she sees two familiar figures rushing towards her. Cormac, limping but determined, wields his crossbow, while Gordo charges forward with incredible agility despite his injured arm. Gordo's working arm delivers a powerful punch, followed by a devastating spin kick that sends Sean crashing to the ground. Gordo swiftly pins Sean down, his foot pressing onto the injured hand as he writhes in pain, amplifying Sean's torment. Sean's screams fill the air as Gordo's weight bears down on him, rendering him immobile. The sudden turn of events brings a glimmer of hope to Kate's desperate situation.
(C)Kate, you have to hurry and break that seal! Can you stand?!
(K)Yeah, I think I can.
(C)If you get up, Sean, I will shoot you again, you bastard! Get that seal from him, Kate!
(G)You stay on the ground, try anything stupid and I punch your lights out. Go ahead, Kate, he's not going to do anything else to you, I'll make sure of it.
A battered and bloody Kate fights against her exhaustion, and slowly rises to her feet, her eyes fixed on Sean with a determined gaze. Cormac limps as fast as he can and approaches Sean, Cormac’s crossbow loaded and aimed at him. Kate too, rushes and approaches Sean, lying on his side as she kneels behind him, searching his back pockets. She retrieves the Fomor seal, holds it up, and rips it into quarters, obliterating its power. Nearby, Larry's hold remains on Merig in a tight headlock, while Merig is still groaning in pain. Suddenly, Merig falls silent, the crimson fading from his eyes and returning to their normal state, as he breaks free from the grip of his possession. Larry releases him, and they both take a moment to catch their breath, facing each other, eyes locked as they exchange relieved smiles. In a gesture of camaraderie, Larry pulls his best friend into a warm hug, sharing a moment of triumph and reunion, their bond stronger than ever. Sean, defeated and helpless, lies at Cormac and Gordo’s feet, his plans foiled and his power broken. After a brief moment, Larry and Merig step back from their embrace, ready to speak.
(L)Merig? Are you okay, pal?
(M)Yeah, I'm okay, my head isn't splitting anymore.
(L)Good, sorry I had to manhandle you like that.
(M)It's fine, whatever you needed to do to end this, thanks, buddy.
(L)Of course, now go tend to your battered wife. I have to go tend to Ash.
(M)[gasp] Kate!
Merig pivots to find Kate, who's still kneeling, her expression a mix of pain and exhaustion. Merig and Larry hurry towards their partners, urgency in their steps. Larry reaches an injured Ashley first, swiftly crouching to lift her and help her regain her balance. Meanwhile, Merig closes the distance to Kate, kneeling beside her as she gazes at him, her face marred with blood. A wave of horror washes over Merig as he extends a hand to help Kate rise, carefully guiding her away from Sean, the torn seal still clutched tightly in her grasp. Merig's eyes soften, and his voice takes on a gentle tone as he tenderly brushes his fingers against her bruised and bloody face.
(M)Hey, sweetheart, I'm so sorry he did this to you. I wanted to stop him and I tried breaking through my possessed state, but the seal needed to be destroyed.
(K)It’s okay, my love, it's not your fault. I knew what I had to do, and luckily I was able to rip the seal thanks to Cormac and Gordo. But what about you? Are you okay?
(M)I'm fine, honey, I'm right here and it’s all because of you.
(K)Good, it's you again. You came back to me, my love.
(M)Of course I did, I couldn’t leave my wife. Thank you, my moon, you saved my life again.
(K)I had to, my earth, you're my husband and I couldn't leave you.
(M)[smiles] You stay right here, sweetheart, okay?
(K)[smiles] Okay, my love.
Merig’s tender touch gently brushes the blood from Kate's lips, then leans in to place a reassuring kiss upon them. He then retrieves the remaining seal from his pocket, and with a swift motion, he tears the seal into quarters, just as Kate had done. Kate hands him the matching fragments, and Merig's gaze lingers on them, thinking to himself for a moment. As he gazes over at Sean, his eyes narrow into a scowl, fixed intently on him as he remains pinned to the ground by Gordo's foot. Gordo releases his hold, and Cormac lowers his crossbow, though their gazes remain wary. Merig strides forward and approaches Sean, his eyes never leaving his captive. The air is heavy with tension, anticipation hanging like a challenge between them. Merig's anger boils over as he kneels beside Sean, his movements are swift and menacing. He then flings the shredded seals at Sean's face in a fit of rage and frustration. Seizing Sean's collar, Merig yanks him to his feet, his grip unyielding. Sean's eyes widen in terror as Merig draws back his fist, thrusting it forward and connecting with Sean's face, sending him crashing back to the ground. Merig's kicks rain down on Sean’s face and stomach, each blow landing with precision and fury, the sound of Sean's grunts and the thud of Merig's boots filling the air. Sean’s hand, still impaled and bleeding, only seems to fuel Merig's rage. Finally, he stops, his chest heaving with exertion, and kneels beside Sean once more. Grasping Sean's collar, Merig lifts his upper body and pulls him in, their faces inches apart. Sean's eyes are wide with horror, his bloody face pale with fear, as Merig's eyes turn crimson, blazing with intense fury. A devilish smile twists Merig's lips, his voice low, growling, and maniacal, sending shivers down Sean's spine.
(M)You hurt my precious wife, Sean, my beautiful shining moon! You left marks on her and even attempted to harm my precious child that she's carrying in her precious and delicate belly, you absolute piece of human shit! You're lower than any Fomor that has ever walked this earth! You wanted your revenge because Kate left your sorry ass and you couldn't have her or control her or beat her with your filthy hands anymore, could you?! Then she came to Tara and met me, someone who showed her what real love was, something you failed to do! You're not supposed to hurt someone you say you love. That's not love, Sean. I love Kate. I don't beat her or control her or force her to do anything because I'm not a piece of shit like you! She fell in love with me, a goblin, and she happily married me because I hold her every night and keep her warm. I dry her tears and chase away the nightmares. I protect her from harm. I take care of her and make sure she eats and sleeps in a comfortable bed. I also make passionate love to her and kiss every inch of her precious, beautiful naked body and make her feel loved! And now she's carrying my seed, and that pisses you off so badly. But I don't give a shit because she's MY wife. She doesn't belong to you anymore, Sean. It's funny how I'm the filthy Fomor you say I am, but I'm so much better than you and more human than you will ever be. No wonder Kate never wanted to be with another human man ever again and I don't blame her because it seems that a Fomor treats her with more love and kindness than a human man does on an intimate level. So, in reality, you’re the filthy one, Sean, not me. Now, I'm going to do to you what you made me watch you do to my wife.
(SH)No, you can't do that!
(M)Oh, but I can, Sean, and I will. My wife and everyone else here are going to witness it.
(L)Go ahead, pal, have your fun. I have to get Ash some help. She's hurt.
(M)Of course, buddy, she's your number one priority. Go find Sarah.
(L)You have fun with this scumbag.
(M)[smiles] Oh I will, he'll pay for what he's done.
Merig's relentless assault continues, his fists pounding into Sean's already battered face, the sound of crunching bone and flesh filling the air. He stands, his chest heaving, and unleashes a flurry of more kicks, each one landing with precision and force, targeting Sean's face and stomach. Sean's body jerks with each impact, his cries of pain growing weaker. Meanwhile, Larry grabs onto Ashley, gently helping her to her feet as Ashley winces in pain, Larry gazing at her with concern. Together, they hasten to find Sarah and Barth, their footsteps urgent. In the nearby cover spot in the previous room, Sarah tends to Barth's wounds with gentle care. She carefully removes the top of his light armor, revealing the bullet wounds on his back. With skilled hands, she cleans and disinfects the injuries before offering him a pain-reducing potion to ease his pain. Barth's face contorts in agony, but he swallows the potion, and as it takes effect, his expression slowly relaxes and his breathing steady.
(S)Here, drink this.
(B)Thank you, Sarah.
(S)How are you feeling, Barth?
(B)A little better, since you're here taking care of me.[grunts]
(S)Try not to move, you'll make the pain worse.
(B)Right, I'll try my best.
(S)Thank you, Barth, for protecting me out there.
(B)Think nothing of it. I should be thanking you for healing me.
(S)That's what I'm here for. I'm just glad you're alive or I don't know what I'd do with myself. I already feel terrible that you used yourself as a shield and got hurt.
(B)Hey, don't beat yourself up, Sarah, I did it because you can't fight, so you can't defend yourself and your magic shields don't last long. I also did it because...well, I really care about you.
(S)[smiles] I really care about you, too, Barth, which is why I'm doing my best to heal you.
(B)I think you're beautiful, Sarah, and I really like you. But that might be the painkillers talking.
(S)[giggles] Are you going to use that excuse every time I treat you, Barth?
(B)Maybe, or maybe I say those things out loud because that's actually how I feel about you.
(S)[smiles] Maybe I like you, too, Barth.
(B)You know, this kind of seems familiar, doesn't it? I remember the first time you tended to my injuries like this.
(S)[smiles] Yeah, I remember, too, it was the first time you flirted with me because of the pain-reducing potion. Then I took you to the healer and treated you there and then I took you home to rest and I would come over to your house and change your bandages.
(B)Yeah, I really enjoyed your home visits each day. I always looked forward to them and I loved talking to you.
(S)I enjoyed it, too, and just knowing that you were healing made those visits all the more worth it.
(B)...I think I love you, Sarah.
(S)What?
(B)You heard me. I wasn’t going to tell you yet until our next date, but then I realized we were going to have to postpone it. So I decided I didn’t want to wait, and I told myself that I’d tell you during this trip. You know, you think you're weak when you're the strongest person I know. You heal people and help them feel better so that they can be stronger. You don't think highly of yourself, but you're amazing, Sarah. You're so cute when you laugh and when you blush. You're soft-spoken and you’re such a sweet person. You're always cheerful and bubbly, and it's contagious. I love your beautiful black and curly hair, and your face, and every time I see you, my stomach gets this weird feeling, and I like that feeling a lot. For some reason, I get this urge to want to protect you from harm. There's so much more about you to love and I know for a fact that's not the pain killers talking. I don't think I love you...I know I love you, without a doubt, Sarah.
(S)Oh, Barth...I love you, too. You're always so kind to me and you never judge me. You're always there to tell me that I'm strong when I feel weak. I'm always happy when I see you every day, even if I'm not happy, and all you have to do is talk to me and I feel better. You're so funny when you flirt with me and I love it when you compliment me. It makes me feel really good about myself when you do. I get that feeling in my stomach, too, but that's normal. It’s the feeling you get when you're in love with someone. When you first see them each day or when they're next to you. You feel the urge to hug them or hold their hand or even kiss them. You've always been really sweet to me and when I go home, I miss you already and I can't wait to see you the next day. You always know how to make me smile or laugh without even trying. I love it when you protect me because I feel so safe with you around and I trust you with my life. But I also don't want you to get hurt and I feel terrible when you do. It makes me want to protect you, too, because if you get hurt enough, you might die and I don't want that. I would miss you so much and you wouldn't be here anymore. I would cry every day.
(B)I'd feel the same if you were gone, Sarah. Everything you've just said, I feel the same way. I feel the urge to hug you and kiss you all the time or tell you that I love you. You're so shy and I think it's adorable and I can't help but want to grab you and hold you and keep you safe in my arms. I don't know what I'd do if you weren't here with me and I never want to find out. And if any of this means that I'm in love with you, then so be it. I'm madly in love with you, Sarah.
(S)Then I guess I'm in love with you, too, Barth. I want you to hug me and kiss me and tell me you love me. Don't be afraid to do those things, even if people see us. I never want you to leave me alone in this world, and I want to be with you so you can hold me and never let go.
(B)For you, I'd be happy to. I want to be with you, too, and I'll never leave you. I want you all to myself.
(S)Then you have me, I'm all yours.
The two exchange warm smiles, and with a tender touch, Barth takes Sarah's hand and lifts it to his lips. His eyes lock on hers as her heart races, and Barth plants a gentle kiss on the back of her hand. Sarah's cheeks flush red with surprise and bashfulness, her smile brightening as she places the kissed hand softly against Barth's cheek. Leaning in, Sarah bestows a delicate kiss on his other cheek, as Barth's eyes widen in astonishment. Sarah pulls back a little, the air charged with emotion as they share a smile, their eyes meeting in a sparkling connection. Barth's hands reach for Sarah and cradle her face, his thumbs caressing her cheeks as he quickly pulls her in. Their lips meet in a tender, exploratory kiss, the world around them melting away. As they pull back, they gaze into each other's wide eyes, shocked by the intensity of their feelings. The moment hangs suspended, filled with promise and possibility, as they both acknowledge the spark that's igniting between them. Still in shock, Barth breaks the silence and speaks in an apologetic tone.
(B)I'm so sorry, I don't know what came over me.
(S)[smiles] Don't be sorry, I was kind of hoping you'd kiss me.
(B)Then I'm sure you'd want me to kiss you again.
(S)You're practically a mind reader, cause you'd be right.
As they savor the moment, Barth and Sarah share another tender smile before their lips meet again, lost in a gentle, loving kiss. They pause, gazing into each other's soft, dreamy eyes, the connection between them strong. Sarah returns to tending Barth's wounds, her touch skilled and nurturing. Just then, Larry and Ashley enter, their footsteps a gentle interruption. Larry supports Ashley, who's wincing in pain, her arm injured. Sarah beckons them over, concern etched on her face. Larry carefully guides Ashley to Sarah's side, helping her sit down. Sarah's hands move swiftly, rummaging through her bag for medical supplies. She examines the bullet wound on Ashley's arm, her expression focused. With gentle care, she begins to tend to the injury, her touch soothing. The atmosphere is filled with a sense of quiet concern, the group is united in their care for one another.
(L)Hey, you two okay?
(B)We're fine. What happened to Ash?
(L)Sean shot her with a mana bullet.
(S)Hey Ash, I'm going to give you a potion to ease your pain and I'll start dressing your wound, okay?
(A)Thank you, Sarah. I don't know what we would do without you.
(B)Well, I know I'd be dead if it wasn't for her. What about you, Larry? You okay?
(L)I'm fine. I'll help you if you need it, Sarah.
(S)Just sit down here and be with Ash. She needs you.
(A)She's right, Larry, I need my future husband to hold my hand.
(L)Anything for you, my red-hot flame.
Ashley's shaky smile is met with Larry's warm, gentle gaze as he takes her hand, his touch comforting. He lowers himself and sits beside her on the ground, his eyes never leaving hers, and kisses her hand softly. Sarah tends to Ashley's wound, offering a soothing potion to ease her pain. As Ashley drinks, she rests her head on Larry's shoulder, her eyes closing in relief. Larry's lips brush against her forehead, his head gently lowering to rest on hers, their hands still clasped. Meanwhile, Merig's fury continues to unleash upon Sean, his face a bloody mess. After a relentless barrage, Merig’s anger simmers as he pauses, panting heavily with fury still etched across his face. Kate looks down at Sean with a scowl, her lack of sympathy evident, just as Merig turns his attention to Cormac and Gordo, who have been silently observing the chaos unfold.
(M)Thank you, Cormac, you saved Kate's life and the life of our unborn child.
(C)I couldn't let this piece of shit carry out his crime.
(G)Wait, unborn child…Kate, are you pregnant?
(K)[smiles] I am. I’ve been keeping it to myself for some time until the right time came to tell you all.
(C)That’s wonderful, congratulations.
(G)Yeah, that’s amazing. I’m happy for you both.
(M)It’s all thanks to you two that they’ll both be okay.
(C)Of course, that’s what we’re here for.
(G)You’re going to start a family and we’re a part of it, remember?
(K)Absolutely, you both were the heroes this time.
(C)Always happy to help, but Merig, you should tend to your wife and make sure she's okay.
(M)Of course, I’m done with this piece of shit anyway, for now. Make sure he doesn’t get up.
(C)Aye, Commander.
Merig's smile extends to Cormac and Gordo, a brief moment of warmth amidst the tension. He turns to Kate, his eyes scanning the ground for her glasses. Finding them, he picks them up and approaches Kate, gently handing them to her. She takes them, her fingers brushing against his, and puts them on, her gaze clarifying. Merig's hands cradle Kate's face, his touch tender as he examines her wounds. Gordo, meanwhile, ensures Sean remains subdued, his foot firmly planted on Sean's injured hand as he cries out in pain. Merig's gaze meets Kate's, their smiles shared in a moment of connection. He leans in, his lips brushing against hers in a soft kiss. Pulling away, his expression turns apologetic, his voice barely above a whisper.
(M)Hey, sweetheart, does it hurt? We should get you to Sarah.
(K)No, the bleeding stopped, but that's the least of our worries.
(M)Are you really pregnant? Am I really going to be a father?
(K)Yes, my love, we're going to be a family.
Kate's gaze drifts to her belly, and Merig's gaze follows, his hand gently resting on the gentle curve. Their eyes meet, sharing a tender smile. Merig's movements are loving and respectful as he kneels, his hands cradling Kate's belly with care. He gazes at it with adoration, and leans in, placing a soft kiss on the delicate swell. His forehead resting against it, his eyes closing in a moment of intimate connection. A single tear escapes, rolling down his cheek as he smiles, his voice trembling with emotion. He speaks in a soft and shaky tone, his words filled with love and adoration for the life growing within Kate.
(M)Hello in there, I'm sorry I wasn't myself and you almost got hurt. I hope you're okay. Your mother got hurt, but she protected you. But I'm here and the dangerous man can't hurt you anymore. Your mom and I love you and we can't wait to meet you.
(K)Less than nine months from now and we will.
Merig's tears flow freely as he embraces Kate, his arms wrapping around her torso in a gentle, loving hold. Kate's arms encircle him, her lips brushing against his forehead in a tender kiss. They hold each other for a moment, the emotional connection between them palpable. As they part, Merig rises to his feet, his eyes locking onto Kate's, both faces streaked with tears. Kate's hand reaches up, gently wiping away Merig's tears. Merig then produces a cloth from his pocket, his touch careful as he attempts to clean the blood from Kate's face, his concern and devotion evident in his actions.
(M)I'm sorry, Kate, he did this to you and I couldn't stop him.
(K)It’s not your fault, my love. Sean was controlling you, so you couldn't help it. But you're back and you're here with me and the baby.
(M)He can't hurt you anymore. I won't let him. I love you so much, my moon.
(K)I love you, too, my earth, I love you so much and I'm glad I was able to rip up that seal and bring you back to me.
(M)That's the second time you've brought me back to you.
(K)I couldn’t have done it without Cormac and Gordo's help when they showed up.
Kate and Merig shift their focus to Cormac and Gordo, their expressions softening. Kate walks towards Gordo, a warm smile on her face, which he returns, his eyes crinkling at the corners. Kate's gaze drops to Sean, his face a mess of blood and bruises, his grunts and groans still filling the air. She regards him for a moment, her expression unreadable, before looking back up at Gordo. Her eyes sparkle with a hint of amusement, and Gordo's smile widens, his foot still firmly planted on Sean's injured hand, holding him in place.
(G)Don't worry, this asshole isn't going anywhere, Kate. I'm glad you're okay.
(K)I wouldn't be if it wasn't for you, Gordo. Thank you so much. You and Cormac saved my life and the life of my child.
(G)Of course, I couldn't let him hurt either of you anymore. We're family, remember? Sorry, I was late getting here.
(K)Don't be, you got here at the perfect time. You were the hero again like you wanted to be.
(G)[chuckles] Yeah, I guess I was.
Kate beams with joy as she spreads her arms wide for Gordo, who eagerly reciprocates, and they embrace warmly. As they part, Kate's gaze shifts to Cormac, her eyes sparkling with gratitude. She approaches him, her arms opening wide, and Cormac looks down at her with a gentle smile. The two share a tender hug, their arms wrapped around each other in a friendly hold. Amidst the embrace, Cormac's gaze drifts over Kate's shoulder, meeting Merig's, who returns a soft smile and a nod of acknowledgment. Cormac nods back, a silent understanding passing between the two goblins. As Kate and Cormac pull away from their hug, she smiles up at him, her eyes shining with warmth. She speaks, her voice barely above a whisper, the words lost in the moment, but the sentiment clear.
(K)Thank you, Cormac, you saved our lives, you're a hero, too.
(C)Of course, we heard screaming and shouting so we got here as quickly as we could. As soon as Gordo and I got here, I saw Sean pointing that mana gun at you and I had to fire my crossbow at his hand. It’s a good thing I have perfect aim.
(K)Well, I can’t thank you enough. I’m glad you came to my rescue and everyone else’s rescue.
(C)Think nothing of it, like Gordo said, we’re family, and I felt it was only right.
Kate and Cormac exchange warm smiles, until Cormac's expression darkens as he glances at Sean. With a frown etched on his face, he strides past Kate, approaching Sean, who lies on the ground, blood still staining his face and clothes. Sean meets Cormac's gaze, fear flickering in his eyes, while Cormac looms over him, his scowl deepening as he prepares to speak.
(C)Hello Sean.
(SE)Who the hell are you?
(C)I guess you're blinded by the blood on your face. You know exactly who I am, you bastard.
(SE)...Cormac? You killed me when we fought those bandits back in Taill all those years ago!
(C)I didn't kill you, Sean, nor did I tell those bandits to do so. Your hatred for Fomors clouded your judgment, and you saw me as an enemy. I was your friend, and I cared for you and I even saved your life and revived you, only for you to turn against me and give me this scar on my face and ruin my life in Taill. Because of you, the pain made me turn to banditry, and I killed Merig to get revenge on him for leaving me and bettering his life. I now live in Tara and I’m training to be a Royal Guard and I even fell in love again and my life is much better. I’m not sure if I should thank you or finish you off and beat the life out of you.
(SE)You piece of shit! I should've killed you!
(C)And I should've let you die so you didn't do horrible things to Kate, had I known you were going to do that and make someone else’s life miserable. You're the piece of shit, Sean, and I should end you right now. But I'm sure Kate wouldn't want me to. She's way more merciful than I am.
(M)He’ll be going to a special place that the queen has just for scum like him. You'll never be able to hurt my wife again.
(G)How exactly are we going to get him back to Tara?
(M)We can restrain him and put him on a horse.
(C)Couldn’t he just escape?
(K)He’s right and we plan on staying with my parents on the way back.
(M)We can always stay at an inn and we’ll put Sean somewhere where he can’t escape.
(C)We could have the prison there lock him up until we’re ready to head back to Tara.
(K)That’s a good idea. I’m also going to ask them how exactly he got out.
(G)Yeah, I’m convinced he escaped.
(M)No matter, all that matters is that he’s in our custody and we’re taking him back home. We’ll let the queen decide what to do with him. Just so you know, Sean, Kate is a very dear friend of Queen Eirawen, and crimes like yours are not taken lightly by her when it comes to Kate. You’ve hurt her and I’m sure the queen would love to deal with you when we get back to Tara. You’ll be lucky if she has mercy on you, or maybe she’ll lock you up in her personal torture chamber made just for people like you who hurt the people she cares about.
(G)That doesn’t sound pleasant, but you’ll deserve it for everything you’ve done, even your past crimes against Kate.
(K)Larry said we brought restraints. I’m going to go see if he has them.
(G)If not, they’ll be outside with the horses.
(K)I’ll ask him. I’m sure Barth would like to know that he’ll be an uncle.
(M)I’ll go with you. Can you two keep an eye on Sean?
(C)Aye, Commander.
(G)Sure thing, boss, welcome back, by the way.
(M)Thanks, don’t let him get up. We also don’t want him to bleed out, so I’ll see if Sarah can treat him.
(C)We’ll be here.
Merig nods, his gaze returning to Kate, their smiles mirroring each other's joy. They walk side by side, each with one arm around the other, a sense of unity and love radiating from them. As they enter the previous room, the atmosphere shifts, the tension dissipating. Barth, Sarah, Larry, and Ashley turn their attention to the pair, their faces lighting up with warm smiles. Kate and Merig's presence is met with a collective sense of relief and happiness. Barth exhales a deep sigh, his eyes closing in gratitude as if a weight has been lifted. The room is filled with joy and a sense of hope and new beginnings, their bond strengthened by the trials they've faced together.
(B)Welcome back, little brother. How are you feeling?
(M)Better, thanks to all of you. I’m so sorry you all got hurt.
(B)Don’t worry about it, Merig, we’re just glad you’re okay. I see that asshole beat you up, sis.
(K)Yeah, but I’ll be okay. Merig gave him a good beating, too.
(B)Good, I’d give him one, too, but I’m in rough shape.
(K)Don’t even worry, Barth. Ash, are you alright?
(A)Starting to feel better, the pain-reducing potion is kicking in. That bastard made you bleed.
(K)I’m fine, nothing some disinfecting liquid can’t fix. But that’s the least of my worries.

(B)What do you mean?
(S)I can still treat you, Kate, it’ll be no problem.
(K)Well, I’ll probably be paying a visit to the healer in Taill when we go to stay. I also have to tell my parents the good news.
(B)What good news, sis?
(K)[smiles] Barth, how do you feel about being an uncle?
(B)I never really thought about it. Why?
(K)[smiles] Because you’re going to be an uncle, silly.
(S)[gasp] You’re pregnant!
(B)Holy shit, are you serious?!
(K)Yep, I’ve been keeping it to myself for a while. Do you all remember those few days when I got sick?
(S)Yeah, but even Nessa said that it was just a stomach bug.
(K)Well, I went to visit her in the last three weeks and she confirmed that I'm, in fact, pregnant. Nessa was keeping it a secret, as well.
(A)I’ll admit, I’ve been keeping it a secret as well.
(B)I can’t believe it, I’m going to be an uncle. I think I’m going to shed a tear, but that might be partially because of the pain from my wounds.
(K)[giggles] It’s okay, I’m sure they’ll be happy tears.
(S)That’s wonderful, Kate, and here you were worried that you wouldn’t be able to bear children again.
(K)I really didn’t think I’d be able to, but I guess fate has different plans for me, for us.
(L)I’m sure you’re happy, pal, about being a father and all.
(M)I’m very excited to be a parent. I’m sure it will have its ups and downs, but it’ll be worth it.
(K)Absolutely, I completely agree, my love.
(A)That means I’ll be an unofficial aunt.
(K)Oh stop, this baby will call you Auntie Ash.
(A)I’d love that so much, watching a little tiny goblin wreaking havoc will be the highlight of my life.
(K)[giggles] Mine, too, and I’ll be so happy. After everything I’ve been through, it’ll be worth it for me.
(B)You’re going to have to think of a name.
(K)We will, won’t we, my love?
(M)That’s right, we have nine months to think of a name.
(S)Barth and I have something to tell you all, as well.
(K)What’s that?
(S)We confessed our love for each other just before Larry and Ash came in.
(K)[gaps] That’s wonderful news! It’s about time!
(L)I honestly thought you’d chicken out.
(B)Don’t make me come over there.[grunts]
(L)[smirk] Oh, you can’t even fight anymore at this point, pal. Just stay seated and take the banter.
(B)Just wait until we get back home.
(K)Even at a time like this, you two don’t stop bickering.
(M)Nope, that’s Barth and Larry for you.
(A)It seems love is in the air this spring. I’m happy for you, Barth and Sarah.
(M)Yeah, I’m glad you both didn’t wait a whole year like Kate and I did.
(K)Hey, it doesn’t matter how long it takes, as long as you do it and you both know that you love each other, that’s all that matters. Congratulations to you both.
(B)Thanks, sis, it’s crazy that we confessed during a time like this.
(K)There’s never a right or wrong time to tell someone that you love them.
(M)She’s right, you know.
(B)I guess she is. Sis knows best.
(L)So what now?
(K)We’re taking Sean back to Tara.
(M)I will be locking him up in Eirawen’s personal prison for pieces of shit like Sean.
(A)Good, that’s the only place he belongs.
(M)Death would be too easy and he would be in the underworld, but I think he needs to feel pain for what he’s done, especially to my wife. This time, he’ll be there for life and I will be there in the prison every so often, giving him what he deserves. If it kills him, fine. If not, well, that means more fun for me.
(K)I won’t stop you this time, my love. I think he needs to suffer for his crimes as well. Larry, do we have restraints on hand?
(L)We do, in the storage bags with the horses.
(M)Until we get there, we’re going to have to treat his wounds. We don’t want him bleeding out before we get home. Do you think you can treat him, Sarah?
(S)[sigh] As much as I’d hate to, I’ll do it, but I won’t be gentle with him.
(M)[chuckles] I wouldn’t expect you to be. I’ll be talking to the prison in Tailltean. I’ll request that they keep him overnight while we stay there. We’ll even pay a visit to Kate’s parents.
(A)Sounds good, I’m sure they will be delighted to hear that they’ll be grandparents.
(K)[smiles] They will be thrilled and I can’t wait to tell them.
(B)We should get ready to go then, shouldn’t we?
(M)Yeah, we will, let’s just rest for a bit before we go. I’m you’re all in some pain from the fight and everything else you’ve endured in this dungeon.
(L)It was well worth it to rescue you, pal. Kate was the most determined. She went scorched earth for her husband this time.
(B)It’s true, she had a hard time sleeping last night. I stayed up and talked to her at your place for some of the night. She was worried that she had lost you again, little brother.
(K)He’s right, I hugged your pillow like I always do.
(M)[smiles] Well, I’m here and I’m not possessed anymore. This is all over and Sean will pay for what he did.
(A)Kate has her husband, Barth has his brother, and we have our commander back.
(L)I have my best friend back.
(B)It’s good to have you back, little brother.
(M)It’s good to be back.
(B)...Sounds kind of familiar, doesn’t it?
(M)Yeah, it does. This time, you all came to my rescue. Thank you, I’m grateful to you all and now I get to be with my wife again and we’re starting a family soon.
(K)That’s right, my love, now let’s rest up. I know you’ve been through hell, honey.
(M)Apparently, so have all of you and I’m sorry.
(B)Hey, you’re my little brother, don’t be sorry.
(L)Right, like we said, it was worth it.
(M)My question is. Did I hurt any of you? That includes you, sweetheart, please tell me the truth.
(K)No, my love.
(B)Thankfully, no, I was able to stop you before you did.
(M)Good, I wouldn’t be able to live with myself if I did.
(S)What about you? Do you have any injuries, Merig?
(M)Thankfully no, just a splitting headache.
(S)I’ll treat you to one of my pain-reducing potions, then.
(M)That sounds lovely, thank you, Sarah.
(S)That’s what I’m here for. Let’s rest up before we go.
(M)Right.
The group rests as Sarah reluctantly tends to Sean's wounds before everyone gathers to leave the dungeon. They enter a small room with a glowing statue, placing their hands on it to teleport back to the room with lit torches and the slate altar. From there, they exit the dungeon entrance. Outside, Sean is restrained and placed on a horse with Cormac, who ensures he can't escape. The others mount their horses and depart, beginning their journey to Tailltean. The group rides together, their horses' hooves echoing through the landscape at night as they head towards their destination. As they journey on, the tension and adrenaline of their dungeon encounter begin to fade, replaced by a sense of relief and camaraderie. Exhausted from their journey, the group arrives in Tailltean, seeking medical attention for their wounds. The healer in the town, aided by Sarah, tends to their injuries, providing relief and care. Meanwhile, Merig takes Sean to the town's prison, ensuring he's secure until the next morning. Kate and Merig then visit her parents, Joanna and Thomas, at their home. They knock on the door, and Joanna answers, smiling, in her sleepwear. She calls for Thomas, who descends the stairs, initially confused, before smiling at the couple. Joanna invites them in, and they sit at the dining table, sharing their incredible story. Kate and Merig recount their adventures, from the dungeon to their escape, as well as their joyous news. Thomas and Joanna listen intently, their expressions shifting from confusion to concern, and finally, to delight. The warmth and love in the room envelop the group, a sense of comfort and belonging after their perilous journey.
(J)Oh my goodness, but you’re all okay, right?
(K)Some of us were injured.
(J)What about you, Merig?
(M)I’m just fine, Jo, thanks to your daughter.
(T)Are you hurt, pumpkin?
(K)Sean did beat me up a little, but it’s nothing too serious. I went to the healer, and we all got treated. It’s been rough, but I wanted to get my husband back.
(T)Well, I’m glad that you're both safe. I guess Sean didn’t learn his lesson the last two times I beat him into oblivion.
(M)I gave him a good beating as well in the dungeon.
(T)[chuckles] I knew you would be the perfect son-in-law.
(M)He’s in custody at the prison here and we will transport him to the prison in Tara. There, he will not be treated kindly, compliments of the queen herself.
(T)That’s what I like to hear.
(K)Sadly, Barth is staying at the healer. He was injured the worst out of all of us trying to protect Sarah.
(J)Oh no poor Barth, I’m glad he’s being taken care of. Is Sarah okay?
(K)She’s fine. As a matter of fact, Sarah and Barth are together now.
(J)[gasp] It’s about time.
(K)I said the same thing, Mom.
(J)I think those two are so cute together, I’m so happy for them.
(T)It seems both of our sons-in-law are happy.
(J)So where are you all staying?
(K)Well, those of us who aren’t staying at the healer, we'll be checking into the inn until the morning.
(M)We thought we would stop by and see you both. I’m sorry we arrived so late.
(T)Think nothing of it, Merig. You got my gift, didn’t you? We got your “thank you” card last week.
(M)I sure did, and I absolutely love my new bow.
(T)I’m so glad, I thought you would like it. And congratulations on your knighting.
(M)Thank you, Tom, I wear the title with pride, but not as much as my title as a husband and soon, a father.
(T)Father?
(J)[gasp] Don’t tell me.
(K)We figured since we were here, this would be the perfect opportunity to tell you both. I’m pregnant.
(J)Oh my goodness, I’m going to be a grandma!
(K)That’s right, and Dad, you’ll be a grandpa.
(T)I almost want to cry. How far along are you?
(K)About eight weeks. Merig just found out in the dungeon. I was waiting for the right time to tell anyone, but when Sean was beating me, I had to say something so that he would stop. He almost killed me, but Cormac and Gordo saved my life.
(T)Where are they?
(K)They’re still at the healer getting treated, and so are Larry and Ash. Everyone but Merig and Sarah got hurt.
(T)I’ll have to visit them and thank them.
(J)Sean is a monster, and he deserves everything he gets.
(K)He didn’t like the fact that I would be giving birth to a Fomor. He was going to kill me and my child.
(T)I don’t even want to imagine that scenario, I’m just glad you’re all okay. I can’t wait to meet our grandchild.
(J)Fomor or not, he’ll be my grandson. We will love him the same, as we said.
(T)Absolutely, and we’ll be there when he’s born.
(K)Of course, I want both of you there to meet him.
(M)Kate and I still have to think of a name.
(K)We do and we have nine months to think of one. The only thing I’m worried about is if the baby is okay since Sean hurt me pretty badly. I honestly didn’t think I would ever get to have children after what he did to me the last time I was pregnant.
(T)Just see the healer regularly for checkups. If you have to, go to the one here and they can help you.
(K)I got checked out when we got back here and they really can’t tell me anything, so I’ll wait until we get back to Tara.
(J)Okay, honey, just be careful and take any advice they give you.
(K)I will, Mom, I’m tired and I’m sure Merig is, too.
(M)We would love for you both to come visit when you can.
(T)We would love to, maybe we’ll take a week and come stay in Tara.
(K)That would be great and I’ll send letters and keep you both updated on the baby and me.
(J)We look forward to it. And Merig, you take care of her for us, please.
(M)Of course, she’s my number one priority. I may even take an extra day off each week to focus on her and, as the commander, I’m able to put Larry in my place while I do. I’m sure these next nine months aren’t going to be easy for Kate and I want to make it as easy for her as possible.
(T)You’re not only a wonderful husband to our daughter, but you’re going to be an amazing father to our grandchild.
(M)That’s what I’m here for, Tom. I love Kate and as my wife, she’s done more for me than I could ever ask for. So, as her husband, it’s my job to do the same for her.
(J)I’m so glad you two met. It seems you leaving this town was the best decision for you, honey. I’m just so sorry that this all had to happen and Sean just couldn’t leave you alone.
(T)I’m tempted to go to the prison and give Sean another taste of his own medicine.
(K)Dad, Merig already did that, remember? We want him alive when we take him back to Tara. Cormac shot his hand with a bolt and Gordo gave him a good beating as well.
(T)You and the other goblins make me proud, Merig. Consider all of them a part of the family.
(K)I’m sure they will all love that and we’ll come and say goodbye before we leave in the morning.
(J)Alright, baby girl, we’re so glad you’re all okay.
(T)Absolutely, now go and get some rest at the inn and we’ll see you off in the morning.
(K)Alright, you two, we love you and we'll see you in the morning.
(J)We love you, too, honey.
Kate and Merig bid farewell to Joanna and Thomas, leaving their warm and cozy home to check in at the town's inn. They're joined by Ashley, Larry, Gordo, and Cormac, who've all been treated for their injuries and are now seeking rest. At the healer's quarters, Sarah keeps Barth company at his bedside, who's recovering from his wounds. Barth sits up in bed, his eyes fixed on Sarah as they converse in hushed tones. Sarah sits comfortably in a chair beside him, her expression caring and attentive.
(B)You know you didn’t have to stay here with me, you could go and sleep in a nice cozy bed at the inn.
(S)I’d rather be here with you, Barth. I know I don’t have to, but I want to. Besides, I’m sure you don't want to be here all alone.
(B)Of course not, I love having you here with me. I always love having you around, you know that. But I know you get tired of healing my injuries.
(S)I love having you around, too, Barth, and I don't mind treating your injuries at all. It's my job.
(B)Yeah but, you could’ve easily let Nessa treat me, but you chose to do it.
(S)You’re right, I did and I don't regret it one bit.
(B)And I don't regret meeting you and seeing what a wonderful person you are. I don’t regret giving you those flowers, or that bracelet, or that rabbit statue, or that necklace you're still wearing. I don't regret our first date and I sure as hell don't regret falling in love with you and telling you that I love you.
(S)I don't regret any of that, either. I'll cherish everything you've given me. You're a wonderful person, too, Barth, and I don’t regret going on a date with you and telling you that I love you. I'll cherish you the most.
(B)I’ll cherish you, too. You're my beautiful rabbit. Can I call you that?
(S)You can call me anything you like.
(B)With love, of course.
(S)Of course.
(B)You know, after going through all of this and meeting a piece of shit like Sean, it makes me feel sorry for the women that go through what Kate did. Sarah, I just want you to know that no matter what, I'll never hurt you and I'll always treat you with love, respect, and kindness. I don't ever want to become a monster like him. No male ever should strive to be like that.
(S)I know you wouldn't hurt me, Barth. I trust that you wouldn't. I'll treat you the same because I love you and that's what you're supposed to do.
(B)That’s right, you're my rabbit and I'll protect you from harm as well.
(S)I’m so grateful for that and for you being in my life.
(B)I’m grateful to you as well, Sarah. I hope we can spend a lot of time together, but I'm sure you'll always be busy at the healer.
(S)That’s okay, you can come to visit me every day and walk me home every night if you’d like.
(B)I’d love that very much and when we're at the pub or anywhere else in the city, I'll hold your hand or put my arm around you and kiss you. I don't care who's watching and I'll tell you that I love you.
(S)[smiles] I’d love that very much, Barth. I'll do the same. Also, I was just thinking. I live on the other side of the city from you. Are you sure that you want to walk me home every night?
(B)Absolutely, I don't mind at all, it'll be worth it for me.
(S)Well, first, when we get back to Tara, I think you need to go home and rest for a while so that you can recover.
(B)You’re right, I definitely will.
(S)How are you feeling right now?
(B)I’m still in pain, but I'm more tired than anything.
(S)Then I'll let you sleep. I'm sorry I've kept you awake.
(B)Don't be sorry, I'll always enjoy you being here with me. But I still think you should go to the inn and sleep. Don't worry about me.
(S)No, I’ll be right here. I'll worry about you no matter what.
(B)Thank you, Sarah, my rabbit.
(S)That’s what I'm here for. And when we get back home, we can talk about our life together.
(B)[smiles] I’d love that, and I love you.
(S)[smile] I love you, too, Barth.
The tender moment between Sarah and Barth deepens, their eyes locked in a loving gaze. Rising from her seat, Sarah envelops Barth in a soft embrace. She pulls away slightly and cups Barth's cheeks, leaning in for a sweet kiss that lingers in the air, as Barth reciprocates. After a moment, she gently pulls back, allowing Barth to settle onto his bed while she returns to her chair. Barth lies back in bed, a contented smile on his face as Sarah sits beside him, their hands clasped together, and their conversation flowing effortlessly. Meanwhile, at the inn, the group settles into their rooms. Merig and Kate share a cozy space, while Larry and Ashley do the same. Cormac, however, is alone in his room, preparing for bed, when a knock at the door startles him. His droopy goblin ears slightly perk up, and he limps to answer it, confusion etched on his face. As he opens the door, a woman with fair skin, and black, wavy, shoulder-length hair stands before him. Cormac's eyes widen in surprise, his mind racing as he recognizes her immediately. The woman's presence is unexpected, and Cormac is riddled with confusion, apparent from his expression as he speaks.
(C)Victoria?
(V)Hey, Cormac.
(C)What are you doing here?
(V)I could ask you the same thing. You know me, I'm a night owl and I saw you ride into town on a horse with other people. I honestly thought I was dreaming.
(C)And you just decided to come and see me, after all these years and after everything that happened?
(V)Look, it just surprised me, that's all.
(C)Okay, well, I think it's a good idea for you to just go.
(V)Wait, I saw Sean on your horse as well. What the hell is going on?
(C)Well, I'll try to sum it up as best as I can. Sean is a piece of shit and after everything that happened between him and me, he decided he was going to be with a woman and then beat her into submission when she wanted to leave him because of his piece of shit behavior. Years later, the same woman moved to Tara to live a better life, and she fell in love and got married to a goblin. Sean somehow got out of prison, possessed her goblin husband, practically kidnapped him, and took him to a dungeon in Dunbarton. Myself and the other people closest to him went to Dunbarton and rescued him and when we did, Sean proceeded to beat the shit out of Kate one last time and almost killed her when he found out she was pregnant with her husband's goblin child. Her husband is the commander of the Royal Guards in Tara and Sean will be dealt with accordingly tomorrow when we get there. We're staying here for the night since most of us got injured in the process. Does that answer your question? Because I'm very tired and in pain and I would love to get some rest before we leave in the morning.
(V)So what happened to you when you left Taill?
(C)You mean after I was exiled from town by you, Sean, and the other people here?
(V)Look, I know you're probably still angry with me.
(C)Do you expect me not to be? After I left, I joined a bandit camp and became a monster. So much so, that I kidnapped that same woman that Sean beat and held her hostage because her now goblin husband left my camp to live a better life in Tara. I got my revenge on him, even though his wife had nothing to do with it. I was so jealous and hurt that he found happiness, that I hurt my best friend in the process and watched him die in his wife's arms. Luckily she had a revival stone and brought him back, but that didn't erase what I did I battled with myself and couldn't find it in myself to forgive myself even though they all forgave me. I've now forgiven myself and became the person I once was, the better person everyone knew me to be, the opposite of what Sean convinced you I was. The bottom line is that Sean betrayed me and he admitted to it. He hates Fomors, and he wanted me gone from this town, so he framed me for something I didn't do. And because of that, you left me and believed him over me, someone you said you loved. But I've moved on Vic, and if you think this is going to be a little reunion for the both of us, then you're wrong.
(V)I didn't think that at all, Cormac, I just wanted to see how you were doing.
(C)After all this time, after everything that happened? After all these years, I come back here for one night and you chose now of all times to just see how I'm doing?
(V)You don't think I felt guilty? I didn't want to believe Sean because I loved you.
(C)Then why did you?
(V)I was confused. I didn't know who to believe.
(C)But you decided, Vic, you made your decision to believe Sean.
(V)I realize that and part of me thinks coming here was a mistake.
(C)You think? After everything I've been through, I've been through hell and back! And while I was struggling to forgive myself, I met the most amazing woman who helped me and we fell in love. She tended to me when I was injured and my life was at risk because I neglected myself, thinking I deserved death for what I did. All the pain and anguish from being hurt and betrayed made me something I'm not and luckily I'm back to my old self. I finally decided to move on from it all and start over and the woman I love helped me do that.
(V)Look, I didn't know that Sean did all of that.
(C)Because he convinced you that I was a villain, and you decided to believe him over me. You both betrayed me, Vic.
(V)I'm sorry, Cormac.
(C)It's a little too late for that. It's been over a decade and you just now tell me that. Do you see this scar? I have to look in the mirror every day and be reminded of what you and Sean did to me. And honestly, I think it was because he wanted you for himself and couldn't stand seeing you with a Fomor.
(V)No, he and I never got together.
(C)It doesn't matter if you did or not.
(V)So you met someone else?
(C)Yeah, I did, not like it's any of your concern. I'll be going home to her tomorrow and she'll be ecstatic to know that I'm alive since she was so worried. I want to marry her someday. She's the best thing that's ever happened to me. But so were you, but not anymore. You destroyed that and ripped my heart out in the process. But you know what? I've moved on and I met a woman who put my heart back in its place and I've healed for the most part. I honestly had a feeling you'd show up here, but I wasn't exactly expecting it.
(V)I honestly don't know what else to say, Cormac, and I see there's no repairing anything between us whether romantically or not.
(C)Are you serious right now? I needed you to be there to defend me, but you didn't, since Sean convinced the entire town that I was a murderer. I won't dwell on things, but no, I don't think there's anything you can do or say that can repair anything between us. I love someone else and that's the bottom line, Vic.
(V)The rest of the citizens were going to believe Sean regardless of what I said.
(C)Then why didn't you say, anyway?!
(V)I don't have an answer, Cormac, I know you probably hate me.
(C)No, I just resent you and everyone involved in banishing me from this town. But I do hate Sean with every fiber of my being, especially because of what he did to me. What he did to my best friend and his wife is unforgivable as well. He'll be in prison for the rest of his life.
(V)Will you ever be able to forgive me?
(C)I can forgive you, but just looking at you standing here doesn't make me forget.
(V)I've missed you, Cormac, I've thought about you every day since that day.
(C)Don't do that, Vic, don't tell me that you missed me, and don't you even dare tell me that you still love me. Because if you did, things would've happened differently and you damn well know it.
(V)I take responsibility for everything I did and for believing Sean’s lies. My heart broke when he told me about what happened.
(C)But it was a lie.
(V)I know that now and I didn't know how else to contact you.
(C)You could've come looking for me, Vic. I was in a bandit camp close to Tara. I'm sure you heard that I was the leader of the camp.
(V)I did, but you became a bandit, Mac.
(C)Don't call me, that, you lost that right when you hurt me. I should just shut the door right now. I don't care if I became a bandit. I would've left had you come looking for me and we could've run off somewhere together.
(V)I understand that, and you're right, the pain I felt thinking that you were a monster hurt so badly.
(C)How do you think I felt? It hurt me, too, but you couldn't think for yourself. You knew me better than anyone, Vic, that I would've never hurt anyone. But sadly, I did hurt people when I became a bandit and I have to live with that for the rest of my life. But you know what? I don't let it consume me or take over my life anymore. Deirdre changed my life, and she changed me as a person and made me forgive myself. I love her. I don't love you anymore, Vic.
(V)I still love you, though, Cormac.
(C)I wish I believed that, but I don't. Now, if you don't mind, I'd like to get some sleep and go home to the love of my life. I'm going to tell you what you told me when you left me the day I was exiled. I hope you're miserable for the rest of your life because someone like you doesn't deserve happiness.
(V)Cormac.
(C)Goodbye, Victoria.
Victoria stands frozen, surprised, and confused, her voice lost in the silence as Cormac offers no more words and gently closes the door, leaving her standing alone in the hallway. She turns and walks away, making her way to exit the inn, stunned by the encounter as her thoughts are racing. Cormac, meanwhile, turns out the light and limps to his bed, retiring for the night, his mind still reeling from the unexpected encounter. He settles in bed, lying awake for a moment, his thoughts drifting to Deirdre and the comfort of home. The familiar thought soothes him, and he eventually drifts off to sleep with a smile. In contrast, Kate and Merig's room is filled with warmth and love. They bask in each other's presence, their kisses and embrace, a celebration of their reunion. As they pause, Merig rolls Kate on her back and positions himself on top of Kate, their eyes locking in a deep, loving gaze. Kate smiles, her voice barely above a whisper, as she speaks words that only Merig can hear.
(K)Can I see those red eyes, my love?
(M)...I'm not sure if that's a good idea, sweetheart.
(K)You're back to your normal self. I'm sure it'll be okay.
(M)I honestly don't want to risk it.
(K)Risk what, honey?
(M)So even after everything, you're still not afraid?
(K)No, I'm not. What happened to you wasn't your fault.
(M)But I hurt you, my moon, I broke my promise to you.
(K)No, you didn't.
(M)What do you mean?
(K)You said that you would never hurt me intentionally. And you didn't, because you were being controlled and you couldn't help it.
(M)But, I still hurt you.
(K)I know, honey, but it wasn't your fault and I know that. Despite that, those red eyes still bring me peace.
(M)Are you sure? You're also pregnant.
(K)I'm positive, my love, I'm only in the early stages of pregnancy. It's not a bad thing or unusual to make love while I'm pregnant. At least until my belly starts showing, since it'll be heavy.
(M)Despite everything that I did, whether it was within my control or not. Do you still love me?
(K)That’s right, I still love my earth more than anything. I still trust that you won't hurt me of your own free will. We're still connected, and that was evident when you tried breaking free when you were possessed, and I told you that I was pregnant.
(M)I heard you, despite blacking out, I could still hear what was going on around me. But I'm sure that I was able to try to break through it because of the bond we share.
(K)That’s right, my love, it's still stronger than ever. Our love helped you break through the possession, even for a moment.
(M)You’re right, I felt you near me and heard your voice when you cried out to me and when Sean was hurting you. But that seal still had to be destroyed, and you did just that.
(K)I did, but I did have help.
(M)Regardless, it was you who destroyed it. You saved my life and I’m here with you again. You were my hero this time and I'm so grateful to you.
(K)Yes, my love, I couldn't abandon you. You're my earth and I'll protect you just as you protect me. I don't care if I get hurt in the process. I told you that I would even risk my life.
(M)You shouldn't have to.
(K)Neither should you, but it's worth it for the both of us if it means each other's safety.
(M)You’re right, my moon, I never thought of it that way. Thank you for what you did, and to celebrate our reunion. I want to make love to you.
(K)I want that, too, my earth, but I do want to see those red eyes.
(M)Are you sure?
(K)Of course, I'm sure, I fear nothing when I'm with you. Make love to me, my earth.
(M)As you wish, my moon.
The intensity of Kate and Merig's gaze seems to hold the weight of their entire relationship. Merig's hands move slowly across Kate's body, the soft sound of fabric rustling fills the room as Kate's dress is pulled up and over her head with care. She lies back on the bed, as his hands delicately trace every curve of her body. They both feel a sense of longing and passion that has been absent for far too long. Suddenly, Merig stands up from the bed, removing his light armor piece by piece as it hits the floor carelessly. He climbs back onto the bed, pressing his naked body against hers and trailing kisses down her neck and chest. Kate lets out deep sighs of pleasure as she surrenders herself to his touch. Finally, Merig pauses and looks deeply into Kate's eyes, his own now glowing a familiar fiery crimson. But instead of feeling fear or unease, Kate can't help but smile at the return of this familiar, primordial side of him, relieved to see it return to normalcy once again. At this moment, everything feels right between them again. With a devilish grin and a soft yet maniacal voice, Merig speaks sweet words to her.
(M)I'm here, my beautiful shining moon.
(K)I’m so glad you’re okay. How are you feeling, my strong earth?
(M)Much better, thanks to you, I feel like myself again.
(K)Good, I don't ever want you to feel like you have to hide this side of you from me. I don't care what happens. I will always love these crimson eyes of yours.
(M)[chuckles] Did you see me give Sean the beating of his life?
(K)I did, my love, and I thank you for that. I enjoyed seeing him get hurt, just like he hurt me.
(M)He can't hurt you anymore and I mean it this time. I'm sorry that I couldn't stop him from hurting you, my shining moon.
(K)Don't ever be sorry, honey, you hurt him in return tenfold. He deserved it and you know what? To thank you for everything you did, I offer you my body. It still belongs to you, after all.
(M)Don’t mind if I do. I'll be happy to revel in our victory by making love to you.
(K)Do it, my love, take what is yours as our bodies are entangled when making love. I trust you to be gentle and loving like you always are.
(M)I'm glad you are still able to put your trust in me because I'd still never hurt you.
(K)I know, my earth, and I'll continue to trust you with my life, as well as my naked body.
(M)I'll never stop being gentle with this beautiful naked body. You taste so sweet. It's invigorating.
(K)I know you're eager, my love, so go ahead and indulge yourself.
(M)It'll be my pleasure.
Kate's delicate fingers trace the contours of Merig's cheeks as she smiles up at him, anticipation shining in her eyes. Merig leans down and presses his lips to hers in a tender kiss before trailing a line of kisses down her neck. His tongue darts out, tracing a path along her skin from her neck to her cheek, causing her to shiver with pleasure. Merig's hands roam over Kate's body, reveling in the softness of her skin as he cups her breasts and takes them into his mouth, tasting them and eliciting a sigh from Kate’s parted lips. His exploration continues, tasting every inch of her naked body before he sits up on his knees between her legs, their gazes locked in pure desire. He caresses her hips before pulling her closer, their bodies pressed together in a passionate embrace. A devilish smile crosses Merig's face as he begins to make love to Kate, the two entwined and lost in each other once again. Their eyes lock, their souls connecting once again on a deeper level of love, lust, and desire. As the two finish, Merig can't help but let out his familiar laugh, then collapses onto the bed, the two lovers holding each other close. The two continue to lie there, basking in the afterglow of their victorious reunion. The two decide to enjoy a relaxing shower together before returning to their bed for the night. They hold each other, naked and smiling, sharing more kisses, and eventually drift off to sleep.
