Chapter 53 Bonus 4

Chapter 53 Bonus 4

Und, who had shrunk himself to the size of a large dog, stood with Sally in her bedroom.

Und looked confused. "You dress up, and people give you candy?"

Sally smiled, "Yes!"

Und raised a suspicious brow. "And what's the trick?"

Sally looked up thoughtfully. "We really don't do that anymore. We dress up and get treats; that's it."

"And you want me to dress up, too?"

"No, you go as you," Sally giggled with excitement.

"Won't people see that I'm a dragon?" Und asked, looking confused again.

"Well, yes," Sally said.

"And how are we going to explain I'm a dragon? You don't have any dragons left in your world," Und said, sounding suspicious again.

The narrative has been taken without authorization; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.

"We'll just say you're an expert cosplayer."

"What's a cosplayer?"

"Someone who dresses up like fictional characters."

Und nodded, "Like a thespian?"

Sally shrugged. "Uh, sure. We could say you're a furry."

"Sally, I have scales, not fur. I'm not a werewolf thespian."

Sally laughed, "Never mind. Look, after we trick-or-treat, we're going to a party."

"You think that's a good idea?" Und asked, beginning to think his friend had gone crazy.

"Oh yes! You are going to be a hit." Sally clapped her hands.

"Okay, then what's your costume?" Und asked.

"Well, maybe a princess," Sally said.

Und laughed his deep laugh, "You don't swear nearly enough to be a princess."

"What?" Sally asked, surprised.

"I know a few princesses. One, in particular, has made swearing into an art form," Und said with a smile.

Sally laughed. "Okay, then I'll go as a knight."

"I've known a few knights. One of my closest friends was a paladin. His armor was always rusty," Und said. "His name was…"

A voice floated up the stairs. "Sally, are you home?" Sally's mom had returned from shopping.

"Und, quick! Jump back home, and we'll talk later," Sally whispered. As Und slipped through the portal to his home, Sally called back, "Yeah, Mom. I'm in my room."

"Were you talking to your imaginary friend?" her mom called back teasingly.

"Mom! I was on the phone!" Sally lied.
