Sally was excited to go to bed on her thirteenth birthday. She knew there would be a present waiting for her. She switched the light off, dashed to her bed, and jumped. This year’s present flipped off the bed. For a moment, Sally held her breath. She reached down and grabbed the box. For a brief moment, glowing eyes peeked from under her bed. Fear raced through Sally, but she calmed herself. Und was her friend.
“Happy birthday,” Und’s deep voice came from under the bed.

“Thanks Und,” Sally said as she opened the present. She knew what it was, but she gasped with amazement. Another jewel for her necklace.
“I love this, thank you. But,” Sally paused, “I’d really like to meet you.”
Und hummed for a moment, “Not yet. How about for your eighteenth birthday?”
“That’s so far away.”
Und laughed, “Not really.”
“Fine,” Sally laughed.
“Goodnight, Sally. “
“Goodnight, Und.”
