Well I never expected him to just run out there. The claws on that badger were a good 3 or 4 inches long. I would have done my chicken shit act and wait till I could get an advantage. I guess Lester thinks he’s showing off.
He was toting around his massive wall, I mean sword, thanks to his Passive Skill, Lift. I don’t think I have to explain what it does, do I? The sword was a good 4 and a half feet tall. It’s a good thing Lester is tall at 6 feet 6 inches. But wielding a sword almost 2/3 of your height can be pretty difficult.
He was slow. REAL slow. I might have him carry weights or something. Maybe practice underwater. What? We have magic, he’s going to be fine. Anyways, Lester caught the badger by surprise just long enough to slam the Beast into a tree. That hulking sword may be big, but it’s not sharp or strong. But thanks to his Beat Skill, he can tenderize the little bugger.
Beat comes from his father who has Culinary Skills. He worked with meat most of the time since he was the only one to have the related Skill. How does this help in a fight? Because it’s actually a Combat Skill. I bet you could tell immediately, but these guys don’t think much. The Skill incurs bruising and other such wounds. Imagine getting a bruised leg in the middle of a fight.
Dangerous, right? Yep. Causes strains and limps decreasing the enemies Speed and Dexterity. If the opponent tries to move a bruised leg too far, they’re going to tear something.
Looks like his Beat worked, as the badger has some discoloration on its side along with some fur matted with blood. Good job. Lester rotates his sword so the flat part is facing the badger. He lifts the sword above his head like he’s He-man, and brings it down.
“Flatten!”
Ooh, gross. Yep. That Flatten Skill is too much. He used to use his foot or fist to Flatten, but I found that the more pressure and weight being used increases the effect. That heavy monument in his hands is a perfect complement to his Skill. If he didn’t have Lift or Beat, he would be in trouble.
See why I say he’s the strongest in the group?
“Boss! Boss! I got two!”
Yes…YES!!! Hahaha! There was no way I was going to all the trouble to fight a Beast by myself to test a theory!
Ahem.
“Good job, Lester. What Skills did you get?”
“Well, actually, I got a Spell and a Skill.”
“Even better. Go on.”
He bravely and confidently nods. Why? The fight’s already over.
“Okay, so I got Chop, which is one of my dad’s other Skills, and Dress…”
“Chop I get. Sounds like a good Combat Skill. But Dress? What, like dressing wounds? Dressing food? Or…”
“My mother was a Tailor.”
“Ah. Maybe you can try the other stuff I just said. If you can easily dress wounds, you might be our Medic.”
Look at him all full of conviction. He even saluted. How adorable. Blergh…
“Yessir!”
Go go go go…I want to go hunt. Good. He ran off back to camp. Time to…check the forums! I have so many things to post! Inheritance! Conspiracies! Frog Girl! Brb my little posse.

Hehehe, my threads are top of the charts. Even my anonymous one. No, especially that one. The only one not popular was my Frog Girl thread…Why? Can’t I dream that Nara sort of transforms into a Beastkin? Please?
Well, I am back onto the forest hunting down monsters. Nara is off a ways while I hunt. Took out some lesser Beasts, but all I got was more money. Is this because of the medium Beast? Stupid snake.
This novel is published on a different platform. Support the original author by finding the official source.
Speak of the devil…Well, not the Devils from the game world, anyway.
Yep, another Onyx Scale Snake. Let’s see if I can do this mano y mano…serpiente…whatever.
I did my Dances, got situated, and waited. For an hour, I waited. It finally slithered past me as I jumped down from the tree I was hiding in to get the last dregs of the buffs. Crush worked its magic as the familiarly gross crunching sound of a breaking skull filled my ears. Ugh…
I fell the rest of the way, jarring my legs a little. I paused momentarily to wait for my bearings. The snake began to slowly look in my direction, its face obviously expressing its hatred. Nice eyes, silly snake. I decided to try something new as I tried to maintain Break just long enough to destroy both fangs.
Didn’t work. The feeling disappeared as soon as the first fang broke off like a Lego. Seriously, that doesn’t look real. But I did continue my swing, smacking the other fang with a resounding collision.
The fang shattered.
That’s how it’s supposed to go! Although, now I wasted a fang…
Anyways, without its main teeth, I am less scared. Yippee for me. There was still the massive 3 foot tall gaping mouth waiting for me. And if that didn’t get me, it still had a good 10 foot long tail to squeeze me to death with. I can’t afford to even get slammed into a tree like last time.
That shit still hurts thinking about it. The realism is too much.
I continue using Crush and Break all over its body, finally causing it to slump over dead.
“Congratulations! You have defeated a Demonic Beast of Medium Difficulty by yourself for the first time! Your account has been awarded 50 Silver Coins! Unfortunately, you have already defeated this opponent and so do not gain any new resistances. Unfortunately, you have already defeated this opponent and so do not gain any new affinities. Unfortunately, you have already defeated this opponent and so do not gain any new Skills.”
That’s not fair…Bullshit! I waited all night and only found the medium difficulty Beast I fought before! Dammit, BREATHE! Hoo…okay. Calm…
So the NPCs inherit their parents Skills and Spells. I don’t know if it’s in a specific order, but that’s enough for now. Instead of inheriting, we Players take one of the…Skills? The girls got Spells…gotta check that…

Yep, it’s inverted. Girl Players get Spells from Demonic Beasts and guy Players get Spells from Divine Beasts. I’m surprised some people actually killed Divine Beasts. Well, if it’s to get Spells, I can kind of understand. But I’m not going to kill Nara for something like that! Besides, I got her Breathe Spell.
I guess I will have to travel to an area where Divine Beasts live. Although this is a good money farm. I already have almost 5 Gold Coins after tonight. I still have all the corpses and
“HEY!”
What is Nara doing?
“Don’t eat that guy, you don’t know where he’s been!”
She jumped up and down around the head of the snake as I walked over. She gestures to the mouth where there seems to be another one of those beads. Wait, have these been in all the Beasts? I check the other corpses and discover little holes that look like laser marks.
“Tsk tsk tsk. Bad girl. You’re ruining perfectly good money. Fine, just let me grab them from now on.”
I guess these must be the mana stones I heard about. Oh well, I make enough money for now anyways. It helps that defeating a low leveled Beast by yourself gets you 20 Silver. I took the bead out and threw it into the air for Nara to get. Her tongue flicked out and an instant later the bead was gone. The moment after that, Nara began to glow…
