“Would you like to give the Female Ice Kicker Frog a name?”
What a horrible name. But a she? Hmm…Aqua, Frogette, nononono these names suck ass. What other frog girls are there? Eruka, Asui…wow…there’s not a lot of frog girls. Well, there’s Sgt. Frog but he’s not a girl…Why can I only think of anime? Google, help me!
.
.
.
Okay, so. In Latin, Rana means frog, so I’ll just do what Soul Eater did and switch the name. I’m so cheap. Whatever, Nara sounds like Naga which is a dragon. So shut up with your negativity. Nara is also the name of a city in Japan. Thanks Google.
“You have chosen ‘Nara’ as your companion’s name, is this correct?”
Si.
Woah, my inner thoughts kept it as Spanish. I hope that doesn’t switch the default language, or something.
Anyways, after that useless moment, I put the rest of the snake in my Inventory and went back to camp with Nara following behind. Yep, the guys who were there came to greet me, but fell down upon seeing Nara hopping around. These guys are also really full of random trivia.
“What is this, Boss?! You have a Divine Beast?! And it’s even the Ice Kicker Frog! You can tell from its hind legs! Woohoo! No wonder you were gone a while!”
“You can tell what Nara is? Then can you tell me what this guy is?”
I then proceed to dump the large black snake onto the ground unceremoniously. This also caused some gasps as one guy even fainted…So majestic, the everyday bandit. So romantic. I can totally see how these guys caused problems for the countryside.
“B Boss! That’s an Onyx Scale Snake! It’s far stronger than that boar you told us you defeated!”
“Yep, that’s because this girl helped me out. Although several things have been bothering me. Why is she called an Ice Kicker, when she spits high velocity spurts of water, how could a Low leveled Divine Beast defeat a Medium leveled Demonic Beast, and what are the differences between the two?”
The leader of the gang and one of the Three Stooges, the nickname I gave the main three guys, Motani, was a little proud for being of use. Yes, I cut his name to Mo. The Slap guy was named Laristo, or Larry. And the chubby fellow was actually named Clarice. What an unfortunate name. Curly it is. Yep, and I’m not a Shemp fan.
Anyways, Mo continued on.
“Boss, the Ice Kickers are named that way because of where they live. They normally live in the Northern Glacial Ponds where there are layers of ice on the surface of the water. Only the strange structure of these frogs can land on the ice. And even if they fall in, they won’t die because they can just swim in it.”
Curly interjected with a,
“Yeah, they like the cold.”
Larry got a little angry as he said,
“You idiot, that’s what I was going to say.”
And then he Slapped Curly.
“Quit it you morons! Not in front of the Boss!”
And then Mo Flipped Larry. Curly got mad and activated his Scare. Then the three began to fight each other.
“Fucking quit it!”
“””Yes, Sir!”””
“Continue with the Divine Beasts, Mo.”
“Yes, Boss. Divine Beasts are like Demonic Beasts in that they can use mana. But apparently it happens naturally. Because of this, Divine Beasts can control their mana better, dealing more magic damage. Demonic Beasts are the other way around with mana being forced into their system and destroying them if they’re not careful. After the process, the Demonic Beasts will have stronger physical abilities. It’s also said that the Beastkin Tribes descended from the first Divine Beasts.”
This starts up another one of my conspiracies. Divine Beasts come from mana. So do Demonic Beasts. If Beastkin come from Divine Beasts, then what I heard about Monster Tribes coming from Demonic Beasts might also be true. So if Demonic is to Divine, what are the Demons’ counterpart? The Fairies? That sounds logical. Demons might be a race that once experimented with mana. But what other race sounds like that?
If you discover this tale on Amazon, be aware that it has been unlawfully taken from Royal Road. Please report it.
Humans.
Oh my fucking shit has been flipped. So humans must have discovered mana and tested around with it. There were some that must have found a natural way to do it, but for others, they couldn’t. So they tried a different method. A more brutal method. But wouldn’t that mean we humans aren’t actually humans? We have Spells and can use magic. Maybe there is still something missing…
The boar! Why was it alone in that part of the forest? Wouldn’t it want to go where food is? If not, then that must have been its territory! It must have been the strongest boar and survived the destruction of the forest! It was a BOSS after all. That high amount of mana must have caused a reaction within the boar, causing it to turn Demonic!
Then that means, a strong enough action done to a being might activate a transformation. A corruption of sorts. Either the victim manages to control the mana, not control, or lose to it. Needless to say, the last one is morbid. That would explain why it was alone, because it was just turned! The attack on the village wasn’t because its stable source of food was gone, it was because it was going berserk!
Oh shit oh shit! This is going to be good! Does this mean I can create Monsters, Beastkin, Demons, and Fairies? I can’t wait to…anonymously start a thread. If someone gets arrested in game for this, I don’t want to be the cause.
Okay, calm down.
So Nara is a water/ice mage. Works well with my Combat Based character. But thanks to those new Skills, I can now sense other people or enemies! I think we have some time before tonight ends…
“Okay guys! LINE UP!”
I can hear the sounds of 40 something feet hightailing it from behind me. I turn around to see all of them standing at attention. Good, this feels empowering. Oops, too much. Calm down, Me.
“Mo, I need you to help split these guys into groups of three. You, Larry, and Curly will all be Squad Leaders. The other 4 groups will decide on their own Squad Leaders.”
“But that leaves one extra person, Boss. We have 22 people.”
“Then I will take the last person. Hey, get Lester.”
“Here he is!”
“Good, everyone else, we are going to be hunting low leveled beasts! Killing one should allow you guys to gain new Skills or Spells. If it gets too tough, you are free to retreat. But remember, no risk, no reward! Let’s go!”
“”””Hoorah!””””
Woops. Didn’t mean to teach them that.
“Alright, Lester. You have the best luck. You get to work with me!”
“Yay…”
“So Lester, hate to break it to you, but I already gained two more Skills. I don’t need to kill or help kill a Beast. We can make sure the Beast won’t kill you, but we can’t get involved. Good luck.”
“Shit.”
“Hush.”
“Yes, Boss.”
Actually, I personally picked Lester because he is the strongest fighter in the group. That’s right. With Skills like Beat, Lift, and his own Skill Flatten, he is good to go. Thanks to my Sense Heat Skill, which happens to be a Passive Skill, we quickly found a tree badger. A big fellow with thick arms and legs that had claws on the ends. He was in the middle of a confrontation with a cougar. Damn, it’s unfortunate that the cougar is just a normal animal.
Nara and I set up a ways away allowing Lester to solo the Beast. Hopefully we were out of range, so I wouldn’t get bogged down by achievements. I mean, I could very well just join in and get the loot myself, but…
One, this is training for the little circus that now follows me.
Two, this is also an experiment to see if someone can get more than one Skill or Spell. Maybe a bonus from defeating the thing by yourself.
I was jerked back to the present from the yell of Lester as he charged the badger.

Lots of information this chapter, it feels kind of jumbled up. If there’s any confusion, let me know and I will try and edit as best as possible. Thanks!
