A term used to describe objects that have the ability to think independently, but lack the abitlity to act independently. An example could be of a rock or meteor that has sentience, but is unable to do anything but fly through space until a collision with something eventually stops it. A sentient meteor can be thought of as a self-aware object that is capable of feeling emotions, but not acting on the environment around it. It can observe its surroundings, but it will never be able to interact with them, making it a fascinating phenomenon to explore. The implications of such an object are quite horrifying as any object could have a sort of ability to think and feel yet have no way to express it or do anything just trapped within their own consciousness until their ubiqutous end. This idea can be quite existential and some people find it extremely thought-provoking. People can sympathize with the sentient meteor and ponder what their own consciousness is and if they are truly free to make their own decisions or if they are simply a rock in space with no control over their fate. The implications of a sentient meteor are endless and can definitely give us a new perspective on the world and how we interact with our environment. Are we all just sentient meteors in a frabricated world of our own making to have a semblence of sanity.
