After eating quite a lot of food for a long time, Gray went to sleep. He then woke up early in the morning not looking too good. He rubbed his head as he thought about the nightmare he had. It was about his dead mother and all the people he knew being stored and processed for Bio matter by the Larcripters.
Gray knew this was the fate that his dead mother had faced, but this was the first time in 23 days that he had dreamt about her and all the people he knew. ‘It must be that I’ve been too focused on survival to not have dreamt about them.’ Gray thought as he sat on the floor looking at the morning sun shining into the office through its small window.
‘I wonder if any of the people that I knew before all this had happened, survived?’ He thought with a sad expression on his face as he pulled out his phone to look at the time.
“7:55 huh?” Gray said as he looked at the time on his phone. called out to is assistant. “Hay, Fantasma where are you?”
The more time he spent with her the more human she felt, it was getting to the point that Gray could not tell the difference between her and a normal human if she was not blue and could float.
“Good morning, Gray.” Fantasma said as she appeared right in front of him with a smile on her face. Fantasma mostly spends her time with Gray out in the real world, when he is asleep or busy, she would use his phone or rest in Grays imaginary space.
When Gray saw her smile, he cheered up and pushed his fear and anxiety about his current situation into the back of his head.
“It’s time to get to Bio level 10.” Gray said this to Fantasma as he stood up and walked to the kitchen.
Gray looked around the kitchen for anything useful, he still needed to consume a couple of kilograms to reach Bio level 10. Although the convenient store had a lot of food, most of it was highly processed and held no value to Gray other than the taste.
“It looks like I will have to go back to eating fresh plant matter to level up.” He said this with a disappointed look on his face. At that moment, Gray spotted something in the corner of his eye that had caught his attention. He walked over to the spot where he had seen the mysterious object.
“Is that… what I think it is?” He said with an excited look on his face while moving away all of the clutter that was covering up most of the object.
“Hahaha… it is.” He laughed out loud with a twisted smile on his face.
“Gray, isn’t that just a blender?” Fantasma asked with a puzzled look on her face as she pointed at the object.
Fantasma now had a general understanding of the tools that humans use, but what had confused her was why Gray had gone nuts over a mere blender.
“No… this is not just a blender it’s my way out! Look at it, with this godly tool I won’t have to chew leaves anymore. I could just use the blender and blend them up and gulp them down with out having to chew them!” Gray spoke in a loud tone while holding the blender up above his head.

“Just think about how much time I could save without having to chew like a cow.” Gray explained while jumping for joy.
‘Honestly, I look like a complete fool while eating plant matter like an animal. With just the amount I have to consume, I actually thought that my jaw was going to fall off.’ Gray stopped, and shivered at the thought of this.
“Yes, it would make It easier for you to consume the Bio matter with this tool.” Fantasma said as she clapped to Grays idea.
He nodded and reluctantly put down the blender and left the office that was at the back of the store. Gray then made his way to the store to look for a bag to store plant matter, once he found what he was looking for he made his way to the trees that were a couple of hundred meters away from the gas station.
While he was harvesting his Bio matter needed to get to level 10. Fantasma brought him some bad news.
“Gray, the mortality rate of the human race has just been released on the internet. Would you like to hear it?” Fantasma spoke to Gray as she held up his phone, ready to read the news out to him.
When Gray got this, he stopped what he was doing and replied to her question with a solemn look on his face. “Yes, please tell me.”
Fantasma nodded and went on to read the article that was published by the United Nations. “It has been estimated that at least half of the human population has been wiped out from the invasion and from other causes. The rough numbers are…”
“No stop… I don’t need to hear the rest.” Gray interrupted her report before she could finish speaking, he then rubbed is forehead.
“Okay” Fantasma lowered her head before she replied in a low tone, after seeing the bad expression on his face.
This was a huge blow to Gray; it should be known that half of the people on earth were almost 4 billion. Such a huge decrease in population led Gray to believe that all his friends and the people he knew were dead.
This shocked him into depression, but also made him see how dire the situation that he was in. If Gray had not sent out that message to the Okagos, the whole human population would only be hovering in the millions by now.
Gray quickly lifted his head and suppressed his depression; he held the bag in his hands and went on to gather more plant matter to level up.
“Let’s not dwell in the past, that’s not going to fix anything. What I need to do is level up and survive.” Gray said this as he looked at Fantasma with a serious look on his face.
“Yep, once you are at Bio level 10 you would be able to build the ship needed to fight the enemy and survive.” Fantasma spoke with a happy expression on her face.
“Yes, and it’s all thanks to this.” Gray moved his hands and touched the containment unit that was tied to his trousers.
This had the bacteria needed to make the ships Bio reactor. One could power up machinery that did not need a lot of Bio Plasma on their own, but once the consumption grows to an extent that exceeds ones Bio level. It becomes impossible to use that machinery.
That is why Bio reactors are used, they also produce a large amount of Bio Plasma in a constant and stable supply. That is why they are used for large machines such as ships and etc.
Though they sound good and all, Bio reactors do not have the ability to naturally replenish Bio Plasma. The real downside to Bio reactors is that their Bio Plasma cannot be precisely controlled, this means they are only useful for primitive functions. Each and every individual has their own Bio signature, but this also means that one’s Bio Plasma is also unique.
So, one cannot mix their Bio Plasma with one another, doing so would be suicidal as it would cause a Bio Plasma explosion. Once he had finished collecting all the fresh plant matter needed to level up, Gray headed back to the store’s kitchen. He then used the blender and some bottle water to make a Bio smoothie.
“It does not look half bad, let’s hope it tastes better.” Gray said this as he lifted up the clear container that had the green Bio smoothie in it. He then took a gulp to see if it had any improvement to it, but alas it still tasted like crap.
“At least I don’t have to chew leaves anymore.” Gray spoke as he shrugged his shoulders.
Gray then took the blender and all the other materials needed to make his plant smoothies and placed them in the store, this was more convenient for him as he could look after all of the snacks in the store while he leveled up.
It took Gray almost three days to get close to reaching Bio level 10. “I think today is the day I level up.” Gray smiled at Fantasma as he said this.
“Yep, this is where things will change and where we will be able to carry out our plans.” Fantasma looked motivated and had an excited look on her face as she twirled in the air.
Gray smiled and began to consume more Bio matter; he was pretty excited as well. He could feel the changes in his body, as his level increased. Not long after the Bio Plasma started to leak out of Grays body, this was a sign that he was leveling up. Gray could feel the changes happening all over his body, after a minute or so it had all stopped.
“I’ve made it to Bio level 10.” Gray said in an excited voice as he looked at Fantasma clapping in the air celebrating the new level he had got to.
Just as Gray stood up to admire the changes in his body, everything was cut short by an explosion that had gone off right above from where Gray and Fantasma were.
