Cinder Part 1

The large midnight wolf did not realize the change within the boy until it was too late. As the wolf's maw continued to rip apart the small body that he pressed under him, the wolf began to feel an unease form under its chest. The dismembered arm that loosely held onto the thin arm of the boy was outstretched and touched the wolf's lighter underside where his heart was.

The crazed wolf starred in the eyes of the boy that held a vast hunger that seemed surreal. It felt that the situation had shifted gears in a moment and decided to retreat for safety, but not before a great pain made him hit the ground with great force.

The muscles in its left arm began to cramp, almost as if they were restraining their owner, something which made the wolf question whether everything was just in its mind. "Hungry." The small voice caught the wolf's attention as he lifted his head to see the small boy stand over him, never had the wolf felt so oppressed before in its entire life. Even as a pup the wolf was blessed with a larger body than its brothers and sisters, and midnight black fur that served as great camouflage in the darkness of night. Fate had even blessed the wolf with an affinity to the magic that made it rise to power a sure thing rather than an impossible dream.

The wolf was unmatched its entire life and thus believed himself to be the best in the forest and thus in the world. But this decision was shattered with the being that stood in front of him. The wolf was nothing more than a big fish in a small pond. However, instead of having its fire put to rest upon realizing the truth, something changed within the wolf. The fire that was about to give itself to darkness began to burn brighter than before. The manic flames began to sway more crazily than ever before as if the fuel that fed them was pushing them to the limit.

The wolf had come to a realization that many would believe to be incensed but to him the only logical solution. Being the best all his life meant that there was no one that could match, no one the satiate his desire. But now there was one who was his equal, not his superior. And that thought had pushed the wolf to the edge of insanity, the wolf who loved to fight more than any other.

It would seem the mania was very contiguous on this day, first with the wolf, then the boy, and finally the flames. And now it had come full circle and with great force. The violet flames fed upon the feelings of their master and converted his feelings into reality.

Instead of howling itself, the wolf allowed its subordinate flame to do that for him as well. The flames seared the air until it whistled in a hysterical manner that would make ears bleed. They also released a red mist that manifested as it sizzled from the skin underneath the midnight fur. It would seem that the wolf would even allow its life to be put on the line to fight even a moment more as with each passing second the water and blood in its body disappeared with the wind.

It would truly give its best to combat its most fearsome opponent, and he would savor every moment as it licked its lips. "Hungry!" the voice that came from the disheveled boy seemed to complete his opponent's words if he were to speak.

The worn and burned body of the boy sprinted without hesitation as his hunger grew more endless with each passing moment. How hand once again reached to make contact with manic flames. The wolf proceeded to clash with his opponent head-on as a show of respect. The violet flames that had once burned the flesh of the boy now coiled around his arm as they came into contact.
