Chapter 135 - Showing the world [5]

The presentation of the new drug proposed by Prime was a complete success. From start to finish, everyone kept their eyes fixed on what was being shown. Internally, they knew this was an opportunity they couldn’t afford to miss.

In the near future, Prime’s revolutionary drug would be available in every pharmacy, undoubtedly becoming a top seller. As soon as the presentation ended and the closing party began, Prime could barely move, surrounded by countless people around him.

"Mr. Ryan, would you mind if we talked privately later?"

"Mr. Ryan, I heard you’re still accepting investments. Could you reserve a spot for me?"

"Mr. Ryan..."

"Mr. Ryan..."

Prime’s name was mentioned so many times that he was starting to feel a mild aversion just hearing his own name. However, all he could do at that moment was smile like a fool while greeting everyone. Prime genuinely wondered how Tony managed to endure such situations.

The answer to Prime’s question, however, wasn’t that hard to figure out. Looking around, he saw Tony also surrounded by people. But unlike Prime, Tony remained completely indifferent, responding briefly to comments while sipping his drink without a care.

Prime wasn’t quite sure how to define it. Tony seemed to take nothing seriously, which, in turn, made people around him not take him seriously either. While Prime understood this approach, it wasn’t something he could adopt. He wasn’t like Tony, and this method only worked because Tony was the one using it.

(After seeing you, I finally understand how lucky I am to be simply ignored by everyone)

Suddenly, Sara’s voice echoed in Prime’s mind, with a slightly playful yet serious tone. Prime couldn’t help but sigh, which didn’t go unnoticed by those around him. Gradually, they began to drift away; after all, who would want to risk being on the bad side of the man responsible for creating such a revolutionary drug?.

(Make fun of me as much as you want, but I’ll make sure to remember this in a few years)

(... Wait, Prime, what do you mean by that...?)

Prime cut off Sara before she could finish, realizing she was just teasing him. He thought that if she enjoyed teasing, she probably wouldn’t mind a little provocation in return. Certainly, it would make her think for a while. After all, what Prime said wasn’t entirely false.

Stolen from its rightful place, this narrative is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.

“It looks like you’ve finally managed to scare away all those vultures.”

Tony approached Prime, offering two glasses of wine. Prime accepted one of the glasses and cast a brief glance at Tony, who still wore his characteristic confident smile.

“Are you referring to the people investing in your ideas as “vultures”?”

Hearing Prime’s words, Tony slowly turned his head and raised an eyebrow, as if questioning whether Prime was serious.

“Are they not?”

The worst part was that Prime couldn’t deny Tony’s words. Viewed from another angle, that’s really how they seemed: like vultures waiting for the right moment to pounce on their prey. Prime understood well why Tony avoided talking to investors.

As these thoughts passed through Prime’s mind, he noticed a shift in the atmosphere, as if everyone was focused on a single point. Prime lifted his head and looked around, noticing that Tony, beside him, was also fixated on that specific point. However, unlike the others, Tony showed only genuine curiosity.

Prime also directed his gaze toward the general focus of interest. Sitting at a table, Emma Frost was drinking wine with a calculated grace and unmatched grandeur, as if she were the embodiment of the word “Perfect.” Prime observed her for a few seconds before looking away, his interest waning.

However, as he looked away, Prime felt a tingling sensation at the back of his neck. Turning his head again, he found Emma’s blue eyes locked on him. Prime thought he might be mistaken and moved slightly in a natural manner, but his gaze was still followed. Now, he was sure Emma was watching him, though he didn’t know why.

At that moment, Emma stood up with a smooth movement and began walking toward Prime. Murmurs started filling the air, with everyone wondering if she was approaching them. However, Prime clearly felt that she was coming directly toward him.

“I think she’s interested in you. Good luck, my friend!”

As Tony said these words and placed his hand on Prime’s shoulder, he stepped away, leaving him alone. At that moment, Prime thought that having Tony as a friend made having enemies unnecessary.

Prime waited indifferently, sipping his wine. With Emma so close, fleeing would be simply rude, and he saw no reason for such behavior. When Emma approached, Prime met her blue eyes with his own, maintaining an equally intense gaze.

“It’s a pleasure to finally meet you, Mr. Ryan. I’m Emma Frost, the head of Frost International and one of the investors in your new project. I must say, I’m truly impressed. I never expected to find a hidden genius in New York. Sometimes, life has a curious way of surprising us”

Prime listened attentively to Emma’s words, her seductive face, in sync with her blue lipstick, was striking. His first impression of Emma Frost was that she was stunning, but that thought was limited to her beauty. Prime didn’t let himself be swayed by more than that; after all, he knew other beautiful women, like Sara, with her rarity and exceptional white hair.

“You really took the words right out of my mouth. I was surprised to learn that the famous White Queen accepted my invitation to this investor meeting, but I was even more surprised to find out that you invested in my project”

Upon hearing Prime’s words, Emma Frost gave a mysterious smile with her blue lips. Prime watched her calmly, waiting for her next words.

“Well, what can I say? I have an interest in you that you might not even imagine, Mr. Ryan”

Prime wasn't sure if Emma was being serious or just joking, but her look, combined with the seductive blue lipstick, made her words hard to dismiss as mere playfulness.
