Joel and Mik stood silently, their eyes soulless as they gazed at the ground. Meanwhile, Dolisia was doing the same, albeit her rage was burning hotter than a million suns.
The two boys snapped back to reality, confusion evident in their expressions as they observed their surroundings. As their eyes darted around, the two realized that they were in a town. However, something felt...different about it.
The town had no concrete roads or pavements as people walked wherever they desired, dressed in diverse and peculiar clothing not familiar to Mik and Joel. The buildings weren't giant, metallic structures; but simply, ones constructed from wood, straw, stones, and such materials. The town was surrounded by endless green plains and hills that stretched towards the horizon, and trees that decorated the landscape with their beauty. Upon taking a deep breath, Joel and Mik felt as if their lungs blossom from the purity of the air that they inhaled.
Joel was oblivious to the single tear that trickled down his cheek as his expressionless face shifted into a gleeful smile. He turned towards Mik, whose reaction was the same.
"Mik...is this…" Joel stuttered.
"Yes! Yes, it is! A new world baby!" Mik cheered in joy.
"I never thought we'd make it...But hell yea—"
Before the duo could fully embrace their joy, their little commercial break of happiness was interrupted by Dolisia, who collapsed to the ground, screaming and shouting as she dug the soil with her nails.
"You maniacs! You blew it up! Damn you, god damn you all to hell!" Dolisia cried out in despair.
The two boys exchanged a confused glance before their focus shifted toward the goddess. They neither knew why she was here nor why she was recreating a famous movie scene.
"Uh...Dolisia. Aren't you supposed to be in your...Godly domain, or something?" Joel wondered.
The goddess turned on him with a look of pure hatred, causing Joel to shrink back in fear. Dolisia lunged towards him, grabbing him by the collar and shaking him violently.
"Is it funny to you?! Are you having fun taunting me like this?!"
As a shouting match broke out between the two, the villagers turned their heads in confusion and unease towards the trio of strangers. None dared to intervene in their ordeal, other than expressing their dislike towards the three through frowns and glares.
"Dolisia, calm down! You're making us look like a bunch of psychopaths!" Joel argued back at the goddess.
"Acting as if you weren't one, huh?! To hell with you, and all these people!"
Before the feud could drag on for longer, Mik pulled out his revolver and smacked Dolisia on the back of the head, making her go unconscious as she collapsed to the ground. He holstered his revolver as if nothing had happened with a smug smirk plastered on his face.
"Do you hear that? That's the sound of...silence. Beautiful." Mik breathed a satisfactory sigh.
"D-... Did you just knock her out?"
"No need to thank me."
"You just knocked her the hell out!"
"Modern problems require modern solutions, my friend. Anyways, let's get going, there's an entire world waiting for us to explore it!"
Mik turned around and strolled away with a jovial smile while admiring the town. Meanwhile, Joel shifted his gaze towards Dolisia, who was lying face-first on the soil, unconscious.
"Ugh...for God's sake..."
Joel picked up Dolisia and carried her on his back, a frustrated frown plastered on his face as he followed behind Mik.
"Not even five minutes into the new world and I'm already carrying an unconscious body. Great, fucking beautiful! Just another day with psycho Mik."
..............
As she lay down on the grass, the rays of sunshine boring down on her sleeping body, Dolisia finally woke up. She lazily opened her eyes as a frown was plastered on her face, grunting all the while. As her eyes gazed at the sky, she could hear the calming, and soothing sound of a water stream nearby, along with the chirping of birds.
As she sat up, Dolisia groaned in discomfort from the headache that she felt. And from the two, awfully familiar people standing at the riverbank; admiring the beautiful scenery their eyes lay upon.
She stood up and stomped her way towards the boy carrying a holstered revolver. With all the rage and might that she could muster up, Dolisia jumped and dropkicked the latter, launching him towards the river.
As he quickly stood up, the boy with the revolver glared with bloodshot eyes at the one who dared dropkick him.
"Why the fuck did you do that?!" Mik roared in anger as he made his way out of the river, his clothes soaking wet.
"You knocked me out, I knocked you out. Equality, motherfuc—"
"Oh, you bitc—"
Joel intervened. "Hey, she's got a point. Anyways, glad you're not dead, Dolisia."
"Well, I wish I was, that would have been much better than staying with you two."
"Right, speaking of…" Joel interrupted, "Why are you here? Aren't you supposed to supervise us from above like any normal deity?"
"Well, I wish that was the case. But, due to the absolute chaos of a life that you two lived, MY superior god forced me to come with you so that you two don't screw this up. Also, where the hell are we? Why did you two drag me to the riverbank? Where is the town?"
Joel hesitated before saying, "We have a bit of a problem."
"Oh no... Did you two kill someone?" Dolisia asked, already anticipating the answer.
"What kind of psycho maniacs do you take us for?! No, we killed no one!" Mik retorted.
"Thank God." Dolisia sighed in relief.
"But we are being hunted by the town's guards." Mik finished his statement.
"Aw no!" Dolisia exclaimed as she pulled her hair in frustration, "The fuck did you two do?! How long have I been asleep?!"
"Eh, like two hours, maybe." Joel responded.
"Two hours? Two hours?! Are you kidding me?! What in the All-father's name did you two psychos do to become wanted men in just two hours?!"

"Well, you see, after that entire freakout you did, and Mik knocking you out, I had to carry your unconscious body while trying to explore the town for anything useful. But whoopsie do, looks like the town folks have grown suspicious of us after they saw Mik knocking you out, and me carrying you on my back. Shocker, right?" Joel sarcastically stated.
"Then why did you not explain it to them?!"
"Well, you see...we tried. But, the town's guard grew impatient, and kinda got a little angry. So, I kinda got a little angry too." Mik explained.
"... Did you kill him?"
"No, of course not!" Mik answered, staying silent for a few seconds before he added. "But I did knock him out."
"..."
With a poker face replacing her previously frustrated expression, Dolisia soullessly stared at Mik in silence.
"So… I think we should lay low for a while." Mik suggested.
"Ya think?!" Dolisia shouted.
She took a deep breath while massaging her temples, pondering her current ordeal. She then shifted her gaze towards Joel before she spoke:
"You two idiots need to come with me right now to clear this misunderstanding and apologize. Because there is no way in heaven or hell am I going to stay with two runaways convicted of kidnapping and assault." She said before turning towards Mik, "As for you, you need to shut the fuck up. So, no speaking, no knocking out people, and in general, no spontaneous shit, unless you're told so!"
"The hell kind of animal do you take me for? I'm a human, I have an opinion!"
"Your opinion will lead you two to the noose, and me to the stakes. So, hear me clearly when I say: Your opinion doesn't matter."
"Joel, some common sense please." Mik requested.
"Common sense? More than what she said? No can do." Joel asserted.
"Great, finally, a little common sense. Now, let us get going and clean up your problems… because I need a drink as soon as possible."
..............
As they made their way back to the village, the trio observed from a safe distance. They lay prone inside a bush large enough to fit all of them as they observed the town from afar.
As their eyes scanned the town—as much as their vantage point allowed them to—they spotted two guards standing next to a tavern. The guards wore an all-white outfit consisting of a white shirt, woolen pants, boots, and a cloak, along with a sheathed sword strapped to their waist.
However, what caught the trio's attention was the insignia sewn on the back of the cloak—The symbol of a four-pointed gold star.
"So, those are the guards?" Dolisia asked.
"Yeah...those motherfuc—" Mik raised his voice.
Joel interrupted, "Don't shout, dumbass. You're gonna get us caught. Anyway, what do we do now that we finally found the guards?"
"We're gonna apologize, and get this over with," Dolisia said.
"That bluntly?" Joel wondered.
"Well, duh! What do you want us to do? We don't even have the money to buy them an apology gift. The least we can do is clear the misunderstanding, and apologize. The rest we can figure out along the way."
"Hold on…" Mik interrupted, "...something isn't right."
"Oh for God's sake, what is it now?" Dolisia groaned in frustration.
"There's only two of the guards… Plus, they're both uninjured." Mik stated.
"Yeah, now that I see it, at least one of them should have his—" Joel spoke before being interrupted by the sound of an unsheathing sword.
"Nose broken?" A voice spoke from behind the three.
As they quickly turned around, the trio was in utter shock as their eyes fell upon a man, dressed the same as the guards, standing right in front of them; his sword inches away from Mik's throat.
"You didn't think you would get away that easily after assaulting a luminary, did you?" The man asked with a grin plastered on his face.
Unfortunately for the guard, his broken nose—and the bandage that was covering it—greatly affected his voice. Although he tried to sound intimidating, the trio could only hold back their laughter due to the guard's voice.
"Why are you laughing?!" The guard shouted at them.
"Sorry, it's just…" Dolisia desperately held back her laugh, shifting into her serious tone before continuing, "We just remembered something hilarious from a while ago. Anyways, Mr.Guar—"
"Luminary!" The man corrected her in a shout.
"Right, Mr. Luminary. I've heard that my two friends here caused you some trouble. So, first of all. I'd like to clear out the misunderstanding that I'm being kidnapped by these two gentlemen. They're just my friends trying to help me. And second of all, I want to apologize, on behalf of these two, about the commotion they caused, and the injury that was dealt to you." Dolisia said.
"So, you're with them? Alright, that's one thing cleared out. But, what about all the alcohol your friend stole from the tavern? And the unpaid meal? And the commotion this psycho maniac caused at the brothel?" The man said as he pointed at Mik, frowning all the while.
Upon hearing his words, and thoroughly analyzing them, Dolisia was in complete silence before she turned towards Mik. With a poker face, she clenched her fist and punched Mik in the face with all of her divine might.
Dolisia then breathed a sigh of relief and satisfaction before turning toward the guard, her eyes closed as a friendly smile replaced her previously deadpan expression.
"Mr. Luminary, do you remember that entire apology? Yeah, none of it was true. I was forced to say all of that. I wish to testify against these two." Dolisia said.
"Save your testimony until you stand in court. In the name of the luminaries, you three are under arrest!"
"So…any bright plans, Dolisia?" Joel questioned.
"Yeah. Mik…" Dolisia called out, "Fuck'em up."
Silence loomed over the conversation as Dolisia awaited a reply, to no avail as she was met with silence. As she turned toward the latter, she was stunned by the sight of Mik laying unconscious on the ground.
"Welp," Dolisia said before she kicked the luminary guard between his legs "Old fashioned it is!"
As the luminary guard collapsed to the ground, whimpering in pain as he held his private parts, Dolisia calmly stood up and wiped the dust off of her dress. Meanwhile, Joel was sweating buckets as he stared at the whimpering luminary.
"Oh, God. Hey, luminary guy? I'm sorry on behalf of my colleagues, no hard feelings, okay?" Joel said to the luminary, only to be met with quiet whimpers.
Breathing out a deep sigh of frustration, Joel held his head before asking.
"Well, our problem just got worse, now what?" Joel asked, only to be met with silence. "Dolisia?"
As he turned toward the latter, Joel's eyes widened in shock. His mouth agape at the sight of the 'Goddess'—who came to fix the problem—sprinting faster than the wind. He was unable to voice his dislike for her action, for she was already a hundred yards away.
"Later, suckers!"
"Dolisia, what the fuck?!" Joel roared in anger.
However, the young man's anger was short-lived, for it shifted into fear and dread as he turned around, his eyes falling upon the sight of the two luminary guards rushing towards the bush where he hid—sprinting towards him.
"Ah…fuck…fuck!"
In a hurry—and panic—Joel looked to his left, right, and down at Mik. With no other option left, he quickly grabbed hold of Mik before he carried him on his back, staggering as he ran after Dolisia.
"Fuck, I forgot how heavy you are!" Joel complained.
As he ran after Dolisia, Joel looked behind him only to see the luminary guards coming closer. His stress and panic now greater, Joel called out to his 'Goddess'.
"Dolisia! Fucking do something!"
"Run away! Run as if your life depends on it! Cause it pretty sure does!" Dolisia replied from afar.
"And you call yourself a Goddess!"
"A goddess! Not a dumbass!"
"Yeah! The goddess of dumbasses! Thanks for plunging us deeper into this shit!"
Due to the intense shaking, and furious shouts of Joel, Mik was knocked out of dreamland and now awoke to the sight of his friend carrying him on his back, running after Dolisia. Upon turning around, his eyes were met with the sight of three luminary guards sprinting towards them, their swords unsheathed.
"Huh?! What happened?!" Mik exclaimed, his eyes wide.
"Mik, you're awake? Hop off for a sec, there's a certain gesture I'd like to share with Dolisia!' Joel fumed as he glared at Dolisia.
"What happened? Why are we being followed?!"
"Well, we wouldn't have been if your dumbassery didn't get us into this in the first place! Especially with the added bonus of a shitty plan!" Joel replied before he directed his words at Dolisia.
"You're a dumbass as well for following through with my plan!" Dolisia retorted.
As the confused Mik tried to make sense of his current ordeal—much to his dismay—he felt a cold, solid surface brush up against his rear, which sent shivers down his spine. As he turned to see the cause of such a thing, he was appalled by the sight of a luminary guard right behind them.
Not a second later, the luminary raised his sword before he swung it once again, grazing the surface of Mik's pants. Not too close to ripping his pants, not too far for the latter to feel.
"Ow! Fuck! They grazed my ass!" Mik shuddered, "Joel, let's switch before my ass gets another split in it. I'll carry you on my back, leave the running to me!"
"Gladly!"
As Joel released hold of Mik, the latter leaped towards the luminary before drop-kicking him, giving the duo a safe space to run. After which, Joel jumped onto Mik's back before the latter sprinted towards Dolisia.
"Later, fucko!"
As he taunted the luminaries, Mik sprinted as fast as he could, going overdrive. He was slowly catching up to Dolisia as the trio was almost out of the town, still followed by the luminaries regardless.
Despite their plan failing miserably and causing them more trouble along the way, the trio still did not give up. They neither knew where they were going to start nor what they would do other than try to escape their current ordeal. However, this was only the start of their story, albeit a very troublesome one. It was only the beginning of their long adventure together. And, for the first time in a while, the trio was feeling alive. They were furious, dreadful, and worried. However, their hearts and the blood in their veins were finally pumping to their fullest for ages.
From a life of depression, loneliness, and laziness, one of immense duty and responsibility for all three, this adventure was truly a breath of fresh air.
