Chapter 89 "The Long-Awaited Meeting" Part 9

Chapter 89 "The Long-Awaited Meeting" Part 9

Chapter 89

"Something is wrong." Major Faxmell said quietly to the Bishop, to which he quietly agreed.

"You're right, we've been fighting this scum for over 12 hours and there's still no reinforcements."

Major Faxmell nodded and continued.

"Not only that worries me, but also how intelligent it is, even though it has no classes. It is guided by logic, slowly wearing us down, because it knows it can't break through the wall. But at the same time, it doesn't retreat. It's strange." This time, the Bishop agreed with him.

"He's like a cross between a cursed person and a curse. He can think, but he lacks free will like a curse, so he can't gain true intelligence." The Bishop said after thinking for a moment, and then continued. "But that's strange, cursed spirits are usually very stupid and simple creatures. They destroy everything they see until they die. Also, the fact that he created a body for himself is a very good choice for him. He doesn't have to waste cursed energy to manifest a spiritual body."

"Exactly." Major Faxmell said and was about to continue when he began to feel the concentration of the cursed energy again. At the same moment, several turrets emerged from the walls and fired at the target.

Without waiting for the curse's attack, Major Faxmel realized the curse's new tactic just before the erosion beam hit.

The curse showed itself in the fog on purpose, causing the turrets to come out of the walls by shooting at one of them. The beam hit the resulting mana barrier, instantly breaking it and continuing on its way, hitting the turret directly, completely destroying it.

Gritting his teeth in anger, Major Faxmell commanded. "Report casualties and contact High Command! When contact is established, connect me to them! Execute!"

"Yes sir!" The Captain saluted and ran to carry out the order.

The bishop shook his head as he spoke. "It's surprising not only that there's no one from the army, but that the church hasn't sent anyone to help us either."

Major Faxmell made an ugly face and hissed angrily. "Damn politics, do you think they don't relay our commands and ignore us?!"

"That's probably true, all military communication channels between cities go through the capital, and from there to other cities, which has been used many times." The Bishop answered calmly.

"I know! I never thought any senator would be brave enough, or stupid enough, to do this!"

"Most likely, someone wants to hide the origin of such a strong curse. After all, if someone interferes now, it will be easy to find out why it all started."

Gritting his teeth even harder, Major Faxmell took a deep breath and regained control. "Does the church have unregistered channels of communication?"

The Bishop turned his gaze to Major Faxmell, he looked at him for a few seconds before his expression became depressed and sad. "There are communication channels, but unlike the usual ones, they do not work on spatial magic. If they did, the device would have been quickly discovered. I will tell you the truth, initially I contacted the church through military channels so as not to cause any accusations, but then I tried a hidden communication channel. By that time, the fog had spread and the device simply cannot find a signal, now my people are working on it."

"I see, the military communications channel is ignoring us, and the rest are simply not working. What about the portal gates, are they working? Can any of our space mages contact another city?"

"The gates theoretically work, but their management as a military facility is controlled by the capital. Space mages do not have the level of access to find hidden communication beacons in other cities."

"Tell me you've come up with something?" Major Faxmell asked, to which the Bishop replied regretfully.

"I tried to send magical constructs, but the curse somehow destroys them. I doubt that the fog has become stronger, most likely a targeted attack, although I don't understand how it attacks while being on the opposite end of the city and can sense the target."

"I see, thank you Bishop." Major Faxmell said, ending the conversation, to which the Bishop merely nodded.

The events of the last few days had taken their toll on Major Faxmell, he couldn't even hold a formal speech with the Bishop. The surrounding fog not only infected him with diseases, but also paralyzed his mind. Shaking his head, Major Faxmell once again silently thanked the Bishop for his blessing, he didn't even want to think about what would have happened without the church.

Pulling himself together, Major Faxmel strengthened his mind and spirit, activating one of the command skills [Leader's Greatness] [Rare]. At the same time, he made a light jump, climbed the wall and spoke loudly.

"Brave soldiers of the Republic! We will not lose to the vile damned one, no matter what! Soon reinforcements will arrive from the capital and we will destroy the curse once and for all! He will not be able to run away again, lick his wounds again!"

After Major Faxmel's speech, the soldiers under his command regained their former mental fortitude. His confidence was transferred to them, protecting them from the heavy influence of the fog and fatigue. Not giving the curse the opportunity to feed on negative emotions. After giving a few more loud speeches, he descended from the wall to the Bishop and sighed tiredly. The skill [Leader's Greatness] worked due to the fortitude of his mind. It gave part of the spiritual power to the soldiers, strengthening their spirit and depriving them of unnecessary negative emotions.

He had used it many times today, along with other command skills that made the warriors stronger and more resilient. It put a huge strain on his spirit, but he had no choice. If he hadn't, most of them would have been dead weight by now. The fog was getting stronger with each passing hour, and even the holy soil and blessings no longer had the desired effect. The power of the fog seemed to be accumulating in their bodies, especially pressing on the weakest among them. The infirmary was already full, the healers couldn't cope. The illnesses in the people's bodies couldn't be cured without dragging them out of the city, or killing the curse.

The bishop, who was standing next to him, suddenly turned his head towards the center of the city and spoke tensely.

"The portal gate has been activated, I believe reinforcements have finally arrived."

The Major nodded briefly and gave a few orders while waiting for reinforcements to arrive. Five minutes later, he sensed 11 auras of considerable power approaching him at high speed. Major Faxmell turned around to see 11 heavily armed beastmen and a leader flying in front.

Name: Graxar Raxariy, 457 years old

Race: Beastman of the Ariarch clan [Rare] Lvl 400

Class: Merciless Halberd Elite [Epic] Lvl 463

Class: Beastman Republic Executor [Special] Lvl 312

Graxar Raxarius belonged to the Ariarch family, a family of famous and equally brutal beastmen. He had the head of a lion and the body of a man covered in yellow fur, with long claws on his fingers. He was 2.4 meters tall, dressed in full steel armor, with a peculiar helmet that allowed him to open his mouth wide. In his hand he held a halberd two meters long with a large blade and a sharp tip like a spear.

After assessing the rest of the beastmen, Major Faxmel was both pleased and extremely worried. All of the reinforcements were at least [Special] rank, but they were worrisome. They were all somehow connected to the senator who governed their territory... The presence of the Ariarch Executor was especially questionable.

A minute later, all 11 people landed in front of him and the Bishop. Raksarii immediately stepped forward and spoke in a tone that brooked no argument.

"I am Graxar Raxarius, exercising my powers as Executor and taking full command upon myself! Report the latest developments quickly!"

Having no choice, Major Faxmell gritted his teeth and replied, "Yes Sir!" The Executors were the elite of the Beastman Republic, they answered only to the Senators and had the right to take control of all troops unless they were led by a General. The fact that an Executor was sent 12 hours later told Major Faxmell and the Bishop a lot. Namely, that a Senator and his personal interests were involved.

After reporting to the Executor everything that had happened during the battle and telling him about the curse's abilities, Major Faxmel listened to the next order.

"Transfer [Special] level people from other parts of the wall and order them to be ready to enter the cursed territory. We will destroy it here and now!"

Just after he said that, a beam of erosion hit a part of the wall in front of them. It was blocked by a barrier, but like last time, it broke through with ease, crashing into the wall. Part of the wall exploded, showering everyone with debris and erosion energy. The Executor swung his halberd, releasing a wave of red spiritual energy and repelled part of the erosion. A red lion's head formed around him and forcefully slammed its jaws shut, protecting most of those present. Those who were unlucky and did not have time to react were injured by stones and erosion. The most unlucky of all was the girl with silver wolf ears, [Twin Swords Elite] [Special]. She unsuccessfully dodged and several stone fragments hit her. Her right leg was broken, and then a wave of erosion energy scorched her face, body, and armor. The girl barely held on to the wall to avoid falling from the blast wave. Everyone else managed to use spiritual abilities, shields, or dodged attacks with minimal damage.

The Executor scattered the lion's head and spoke cruelly. "The new [Special] are no good! Call the healers, we're leaving immediately!"

The Cursed felt the portal activate and the auras come out. They were strong, people started to act. At first he was afraid that he would not be able to carry out his revenge, but then the curse felt it. The main one, the strongest of them, his hands were elbow-deep in blood, he was the cruelest person the curse had ever seen.

Sniffing with his nose, he felt that soon this man himself would be cursed for all the sins he had committed. The grin of the curse became wider, he felt the will of the dead begging for revenge, justice and death... He would gladly fulfill their will and kill him.

Tearing off his jaws, he released the accumulated erosion beam and destroyed part of the weakened wall, instilling even more fear into the minds of the soldiers.

The damned felt the spiritual power of this man, it was vicious, cruel and furious. Smiling wider, the damned knew that such a man would never defeat him. In a good mood, the curse went to prepare for the final battle, and then for the great revenge. Such a furious man would act foolishly and fall right into his trap.

The right ear and nose twitched, feeling the breath, heartbeat and smell of the mistress. He will not let her down, when she wakes up, only ruins will remain from the city.

Finding a suitable place, the curse poured a lake of cursed energy into the ground. This place was once used to bury corpses in the slums, now it would give them a chance to take revenge. The bodies underground began to change and fill with parts of the curse's soul. Each of the bodies acquired a disgusting form of moving, rotten meat, merging in place and forming several dozen bodies of smaller wolves. Next, the wolf created a black fog around itself filled with not only diseases, but also severe erosion. Thickening the fog even more, the curse imitated the mistress's ability to influence the spiritual plane. Now the fog itself became part of it, connecting the two planes and allowing evil spirits to come to this world.

The wolf smiled widely and felt 15 holy auras coming out from behind the wall. As he thought, they were heading towards him. Without wasting any time, the wolf began to accumulate an erosion beam in his mouth and waited for what the ants could do to him.

***

The battle began the moment the cursed one sensed them. A man with blue feathers in his blue hair, dressed in loose blue clothes, waved a staff with a magnificent blue crystal. All 15 people instantly accelerated, flying in a bright blue stream of wind.

Name: Xitel Fich, 359 years old

Race: Beastman of the Vitu clan [Uncommon] Lvl 200

Class: Great Mage of Blue Wind [Special] Lvl 389

Class: Arcane Mage [Rare] Lvl 400

In flight, one of the squad, a green man with disproportionately long arms and legs, pulled a long, 3-meter bow and shot. The arrow instantly surpassed the speed of sound several times. The Cursed managed to dodge only because he felt the attack several kilometers away. Or he thought he could, the arrow glowed green with spiritual power, changed direction and pierced his chest. The shot was so powerful that the arrow was able to travel 8 meters of his flesh. Stopping inside the curse, it began to glow with holy mana and exploded. This caused him damage, but everything will heal as soon as they get to him.

After such a blow, the damned decided that he had to respond, taking a deep breath he roared loudly, putting a drop of damned energy into the sound. The sound of his roar resembled the roll of explosions, his opponents immediately covered their ears in an attempt to preserve their hearing. The damned thought that his attack would reach its target, but when the black sound touched the blue wind, it simply got lost in it, as if its power was absorbed. But his attack still had an effect, several people winced from the intent of revenge put into their heads. The bishop immediately cast several spells, holy rays flew into everyone's heads and eased their minds.

At that moment, there was only one kilometer of distance between them, the archer began to quickly shoot arrows that the damned could not dodge. 600 meters before him, they crossed the ghost line and entered the zone connected to the spirit plane. Smiling, the wolf growled even louder, again sending a drop of damned energy into sound. But this time, the priest defended himself with a holy barrier, completely neutralizing the attack. The yellow barrier shattered into pieces and the damned noticed that the man was reduced by two. He immediately found one, the archer merged with the surroundings and retreated a long distance, but he did not see the second.

One of the thousand eyes noticed something near him, a black hand reached out from the shadows and stabbed him in the paw with a holy dagger. The blow was nothing more than a jab, but it made the curse incredibly angry, causing it to forget about its other opponents. With all his strength, the Wolf jumped into the air and slammed both paws into the shadow. His blow scattered the earth and rocks for hundreds of meters, causing a full-fledged earthquake, but the full-sized human shadow appeared behind him again and stabbed him with a dagger. Swinging its tail, the curse was shocked that he simply passed through it, not touching it at all.

Name: Situarize High Shadow, 310 years old

Race: Beastman of the Mei clan [Uncommon] Lvl 200

Class: Great Shadow Mage [Special] Lvl 379

Class: Night Kill Elite [Special] Lvl 396

After assessing it, the curse was released, one of his eyes noticed a lion beastman running towards him, only 5 meters away. His halberd was raised high to attack and covered in a red aura. He instantly jumped high towards his head and swung it. The halberd's strike landed on his skull and cut it like butter along with his nose and upper jaw, the following behind the blow red aura retained the momentum of the strike and with a cutting wave expanded the wound to a length of five meters, almost cutting his head in half.

The beastman's face showed an evil glee as the wolf's head parts crawled apart. Inside, Executor saw a dark purple ball of curse energy. His expression changed in a second, he activated his boots and tried to run on the ground, but it was all in vain! The curse's cut face stretched into a creepy grin and an explosion occurred!

A wave of cursed erosion energy covered everything within the nearest hundred meters and continued to expand. Everything was filled with black fog until the blue wind mage brushed it away with his hand. All the nearby allies except the Shadow Mage, Bishop and Spirit Archer were badly battered. At the moment of the explosion, several people united among themselves, creating a dense defense and were able to survive the explosion, but now each of them had traces of decomposition and rotten wounds on their bodies. The Executor, however, lost several fingers on each hand, although he managed to cover himself with the spirit of the lion at the moment of impact.

It was hard for everyone, but they consoled themselves with the fact that the curse had lost its head. What was left of the wolf's head resembled a pile of crushed, hanging flesh. Most breathed a sigh of relief, thinking that the curse would soon die, but Major Faxmell, the Bishop, and the three other elites did not think so. Each of them struck the strongest blow they could muster.

"Oh, I beg you, Holy One!

Channel some of your power through me!

And forgive my sins!

Cleanse through my body, curse! Amen!"

The Bishop screamed and rose into the air, shining brightly with golden light. Incomprehensible words began to fall from his mouth, making no sense, but in everyone's imagination a blinding light appeared. The Bishop raised his wings as if he was holding a sword in his hands and lowered them. At the same moment, a golden sword 50 meters long and 5 meters wide appeared from the air. It descended with greater speed, dividing the body of the curse in half, and then also imperceptibly dissolved in the light and the Bishop fell unconscious, into the arms of the blue wind mage.

Each of the halves of the curse's body, about 16 meters high, fell with a loud roar, creating a storm of dust. At that moment, Major Faxmel ran up to it and began to strike it with a consecrated sword, without stopping, dozens of times, at any part of the curse. Each of his strikes cut the curse, with an incredibly loud sound of air being cut, and left holy power in the places of injury.

The other three Elites did the same, two of them were [Spear and Shield Elites] and the third was [Axe Elite], their special weapons were causing the same serious damage. The curse's body continued to not respond to the attacks, but none of them stopped, they saw how the curse had lost half of its head before, and in half an hour, it had completely recovered.

The others just watched this quietly and drank potions of purification and healing. The Executor in particular activated the skill, the missing fingers on his hands grew out of the red aura, and then flesh and bones began to grow in place of the aura. After 10 seconds, his fingers were completely healed, as were the other injuries to his body. Shaking his head, the lion's mane fell out from behind his helmet and a hole opened for his mouth. With a thunderous roar, his body was covered in a dark red aura of a lion's silhouette and he rushed at the curse with great force and speed, immediately splitting the other half in half with one blow of the aura.

After his movements, a sonic explosion occurred. But it accelerated even more, the Executor struck the halberd 40 times in a second, turning the body of the curse into sliced pieces of dark meat. With each swing of his sword, he raised a hurricane and tore the air, creating sound waves. His aura rose higher and higher, blocking everything within a radius of 50 meters. Those who were in the aura hastened to retreat, feeling the inexorable fury of the Executor.

The shadow mage noticed something and screamed loudly. Several hands made of rotten flesh and bone burst out of the ground and grabbed two people by the legs while the others jumped into the air. The hands were instantly destroyed by a quick strike of the weapon, but the [Spear and Shield Elite] and [Axe Elite] received light cuts through the joints of their armor, which immediately began to rot.

Meanwhile, the Executor began to chop into pieces dozens of beastmen that had crawled out of the ground, they were three meters tall, covered in rotten wounds, and their eyes were made up of many others.

The curse smiled evilly at each of the faces and released erosion beams from their mouths, at each person. This attack was faster than the previous ones, most managed to cover themselves with mana shields or other protection, but the Blue Wind Mage and the Bishop were unlucky. The curse concentrated half of all the erosion beams on them, using the weak protection of wind magic. The spiritual barrier of mana held against the first 8, but the next ones broke through the protection and life-saving measures. Several erosion beams hit the Wind Mage in the head and the Bishop in the torso. The Wind Mage died instantly, and the Bishop began to decompose at high speed from the wound in the chest.

The Executor then made several mass attacks, cutting all the curse bodies with a red aura, while the others gathered in a group for better mutual protection. The Shadow Mage, meanwhile, tried to enter the spiritual plane, but felt that there was something wrong with her spell, quickly dispersing the magic, she used a movement technique and left the ground, flying high into the air. Just before the 4 meter mouth of another curse body slammed shut. It turned its head up and opened its mouth again, releasing a beam of erosion. The Shadow Mage had no way to avoid the attack, but the Executor's red aura instantly covered the distance and destroyed the explosion of erosion.

"I still need you!" The Executor screamed in rage and made another lunge, cutting the curse into dozens of pieces. At the same moment, the body of the curse exploded with erosion and injured the Executor despite the strong protective aura. The Executor was thrown back 200 meters, he stopped several times and immediately rose to his feet. He looked around the battlefield, seeing that all the parts of the curse he had cut began to recover at a furious speed and gather together. Literally in a second, the 10th part of the 20-meter monster gathered almost from scratch. The Executor used a movement technique, covering this distance in less than a third of a second and cutting the cursed one into dozens of pieces. Having cut the mountain of flesh inside, he discovered a wolf's mouth with many eyes that opened and tried to grab him, but it was also cut in two and ground into powder by the aura.

For a second, everything stopped until the parts of the curse's flesh twitched violently and shot at everyone at once. The Executor was covered on all sides and only the red aura prevented the curse from injuring him. The rest closed themselves in the round barrier of the Arcane Mage, but it also began to quickly collapse. Two explosions occurred at the same time, the Executor's aura exploded throwing away parts of the curse from him and the arcane barrier also exploded throwing away everything else.

The Executor jumped, instantly covering the distance and landing near the rest of the group, his red aura was much smaller, and the damage was no longer recovering at a noticeable speed. Seeing this state of affairs, the Executor ordered to rise into the air and recover. The Arcane Mage quickly created a wide platform and lifted everyone into the air to a height of over 500 meters.

There they could see how the parts of the curse slowly began to merge into a whole. First creating a twisted eye of the curse, looking straight at them. The Executor remained silent, watching to see if the curse changed and how much it was weakened, he refused to believe that all his blows did not cause significant damage.

The curse gathered more and more, creating a five-meter body for itself. From what they saw, the Executor and others assumed that it had weakened, but they did not know how much.

"The amount of cursed energy in this place is hard to estimate, although the fog has almost disappeared, I feel that the connection to the spiritual plane here is thinner than ever before." The Shadow Mage said.

The rest were forced to agree with her, the hardest thing was to estimate how many resources the curse had left.

Meanwhile, it continued to grow, creating a 10-meter body for itself, at which point its flesh suddenly contracted, it twisted in different directions, tearing some tissues, but later it recovered to a size of 7 meters.

"He created himself a body that was as agile and strong as possible, while maintaining its durability. But is it really just another puppet?" The secret mage said.

"Okay, High Shadow, get Jens out so he can tell about the curse." Give the order Executor.

At the same time, the Shadow Mage reached out and dipped her hand into the dark mana in her body, as soon as she grabbed the chameleon from that side, she felt something again and instantly canceled the spell. Her arm above the elbow fell apart and began to rot, forcing her to bite her lips hard, holding back a scream. At the same time, standing on the mana platform, they saw Janice Eltvol fall, cut into two by a wolf's mouth made of black shadows. Having killed the archer, the mouth turned into black drops and dissolved into the ground.

"He can use my magic to materialize in the physical plane." The Shadow Mage said regretfully. Nodding to her, the Executor turned his gaze to the main body of the curse, it was sitting quietly and watching them, waiting for something.

The Executor was thinking about what retreating and asking for help would do to him. His entire reputation would be ruined forever, he would become a laughing stock among the other Executors. They had to retreat, but at the same time they should not give the curse time to recover even more. Covering his helmet with his hand, the Inquisitor took out several potions from the spatial ring. A supreme potion of purification by light, a potion of complete regeneration, and a potion that strengthens spiritual power. Having drunk them all, the Executor ordered to get ready.

"This will be a long fight, don't waste your skills, try to wear him down, if that doesn't work we'll retreat behind the wall. Cyrus, take the Bishop behind the wall and come back here quickly. When you get back I expect you to finally finish the spell."

Name: Cyrus Emerson, 250 years old

Race: Beastman of the Jeperis clan [Uncommon] Lvl 200

Class: Great Arcane Mage [Special] Lvl 356

Class: Great Mage of Ritual Magic [Special] Lvl 301

Everyone nodded quietly and began to drink their own potions. The secret mage Cyrus picked up the Bishop with telekinesis and waited for everyone else to finish. After receiving a slight nod, he cast a flight spell on everyone and flew to the wall himself. Meanwhile, the others discussed the best strategy for defense and attack, having decided, they began to slowly descend, locking the curse in a circle. But the curse did not react to them and did not even attack with rays of erosion.

Taking advantage of the opportunity, Executor lunged forward, broke the sound barrier, and cut off the curse's head. Unlike all the other times, the curse was able to slightly shift the body and only lose half of its neck, but the wound still began to close. Lately, Executor was not as confident in the holy power as before. Sighing, his aura became stronger, he roared and rushed forward.

The next attack of the halberd was parried by the claws of the curse. This surprised everyone in the squad, the monster gained strength and managed to react to the attack. But the next blow of the Executor almost cut off his paw. Other warriors attacked the curse from behind, to which he swung his tail hard and was able to drive them away, but only for the tail to be pierced by a spear and pinned to the ground. Taking advantage of the opportunity, the Executor lunged and split the wolf's head.

The curse roared loudly and a thick cursed spirit aura began to form from his body. By observing the squad, he was able to imitate them and was now able to resist their spiritual attacks.

The battle lasted about 5 minutes. At first, the curse was greatly inferior, it was pierced, torn to pieces, several dozen times it lost limbs and head. It barely had time to recover, spending an incredible amount of cursed energy. But with each moment it adapted to the fight, now the attacks of the spirit were not so effective, because its spirit could recover after each damage, unlike people. In the fourth minute of the fight, the curse gained courage and began to attack, it almost drove the spear elite into a corner, as it was immediately cut into dozens of pieces.

The curse released a thick fog and closed its aura to give itself time to recover, but the Executor's red aura destroyed all its attempts. His body was restored to only 10% and was immediately chopped into pieces.

The curse was surrounded in a circle and began to be hit non-stop by hundreds of blows. It came to a depressing conclusion, it could no longer recover faster than it was being injured. It was stuck trying to gather itself together while its body was being hacked apart non-stop by the holy attribute weapon. Due to the abundance of holy mana, this shell was no longer suitable for it, the amount of cursed energy it had lost from the holy weapon was also becoming critical. Therefore, it switched to another body in the ground, putting only minimal effort into healing this one.

Two minutes later, the executor ordered them to rise into the air. There, the Secret Mage was waiting for them, who had finally finished the spell. Cyrus took out a bright crystal of holy mana from the portal, in his other hand he held a staff with a fiery red crystal. When everyone rose into the air and began to drink the purification potions again, Cyrus spoke loudly.

"Magic Level 8, Holy Terraforming of the Earth, Lava Pillar Valley!"

The Holy Crystal shattered in his hands and released a wave of bright light into the ground. The staff simultaneously lit up and a spell-shaped with a diameter of 15 meters instantly formed in front of him. It shattered into streams of earth mana and flames that flew into the ground.

The curse felt the approach of death, the most important body that was underground began to quickly dig to the side, trying to escape. The only thing that saved him was the decision to transfer part of his soul and the energy of the curse to another body.

The earthquake spread for several kilometers, the ground beneath the squad began to glow with a bright holy light. Gradually, the light began to acquire a red hue, brightly emitting intense heat. Several tall stone pillars rose from the ground and showed lava flows beneath them. The pillars began to grow higher, on an area of 500 meters, and the lava began to rise, filling the free space. The former territory of the curse became a lava lake, with several dozen tall stone pillars, in a few minutes.

The main body of the curse and all the bodies hidden by it were destroyed by the pressure of the stone and the heat of the lava. The area that was previously connected to the spiritual plane was purified by holy mana, letting in the sunlight. The fog began to dissipate at a distance of several kilometers, but further away it was still as dense.

"I can't believe he survived that spell." The Arcane Mage said in desperation, trying to stop the weakness and dizziness. Only the flight artifacts kept him in the air until now.

The spell he cast was the strongest he could cast. He used the strongest Holy Mana Crystal, about 650,000 of his own MP, and used up all the mana in the surrounding area.

Seeing their delusions, the Shadow Mage clarified what had happened, as she possessed the keenest spiritual sense.

"No, all the bodies that are here are dead, only a fraction of the residual energy remains, but it will soon be cleansed."

"The Cursed One has escaped, if we don't find him now, he will regenerate and destroy the city." The Inquisitor said and continued. "We will concentrate once, each of you get the Holy Mana Crystal, when you find it, destroy the Crystal."

Many in the group doubted the Executor's order, no one responded to his order. Seeing such disobedience to his authority, he became furious. His aura expanded and covered everyone with the threat of death.

"If you do not carry out the order immediately, I will kill one of you!"

The Executor's threat was enough for the squad to split up and begin searching.
