Chapter 75

Chapter 75

As Dylan approached the tables, he began to look more closely at the people sitting near Vivienne Everett. Among them were his fellow Reincarnators: Edgar, Thomas, Emilia, Denis, Ajax, even Alistair and Cassandra had arrived before him.

Slowing down a bit, Dylan wondered what Ajax could possibly be doing here, he was a Lightning Mage and a Dagger Adept. He would hardly find the weak spells he could get here useful, and there would probably be a better lightning magic teacher for him than an arcane mage. It was odd, but he just shrugged.

Maybe he's trying something with lightning mana-based magical constructs?

He didn't recognize the rest of the room, so he decided to quickly assess them. Most were arcane mages, rune mages, a few arcane healers, all aged 16-19. Dylan singled out two people who interested him with their classes.

Name: Sora Thornton. 19 years old.

Race: Mana-Tuned Human [Rare] Lvl 51

Class: Words Mage [Rare] Lvl 54

Class: Rune Mage [Rare] Lvl 32

Name: Edmund Creswell, 18 years old

Race: Human [Uncommon] Lvl 100

Class: Arcane Mage [Rare] Lvl 41

Class: Spirit Summoner Apprentice [Uncommon] Lvl 40

Word magic was very interesting in his opinion, at least because he wanted to shout out his Spells, justifying them by saying that they were stronger. But he really needed spirit magic, after all, he had a contract with his favorite maple tree, about which he knew nothing.

Just as Dylan was deciding on the group's rating, he made eye contact with Vivienne Everett. She smiled genuinely and Dylan of course smiled back, thinking that she had given him time to evaluate.

It's nice of her.

Thinking about this, Dylan heard Vivienne address him, but at that moment he saw her still talking sweetly to the students.

"Sit wherever you feel comfortable, Dylan." Vivienne said using telepathy.

"Of course." He thought automatically and slightly opened his aura.

He didn't sense any spells or strange mana in his surroundings. Shrugging, Dylan decided it was too much for him. So he walked to an empty seat near his group. Along the way, he caught glances from the students like "is this one new too?" or "did he really bring swords with him? Another weirdo!" or nods of respect for his arcane mage class and high level for a 15 year old. Dylan either ignored them or nodded in response.

When the reincarnators noticed him, most of them just nodded to him, Emilia ignored him, even though she saw him first. Thomas, on the contrary, looked at him too closely, Dylan nodded and asked "what is it?" and heard telepathy again.

"I felt the magic of the mind, nothing to worry about. Apparently Vivienne liked you." Thomas said.

Dylan mentally rolled his eyes at the suggestion, but continued to walk with a slight smile, simultaneously realizing that Thomas could sense magic, but he couldn't. He tore his gaze away from Thomas and sat down next to Edgar. At this point he thought the conversation was over, but he heard Thomas' words again.

"By the way, I realized that you rolled your eyes like that. If you don't want someone to hear your thoughts in telepathy, you shouldn't think so loudly, and especially so impolitely." Thomas said, as if explaining something to a child.

Dylan froze, holding out his hand to shake Edgar's, berating himself for such a blunder.

"Are you okay?" Edgar asked, shaking his hand.

"Of course, Thomas's tricks." Dylan replied with an awkward smile, causing Edgar to chuckle a little.

Edgar shook his head slightly and continued listening to Vivienne's conversation with the students. Dylan also decided not to focus on it and try to understand what was being discussed now.

Am I too late? Although Linella is still supposed to arrive. That's good, at least I'm not the last one. It would be awkward.

Dylan thought, smiling slightly, he would have liked this situation. It was the little things in social life that brought him pleasure. Just imagining all the disapproving looks made him want to do it.

Pulling himself together, Dylan finally focused on the conversation.

"Yes, you're right Emilia, this form of heat creation along with the 3rd form of light conversion is great for upgrading the heat beam, but it's also important to adjust the optimal ratio of mana density in the spell form and make sure that there's enough balance in the periphery of the spell area as a whole, not just this construction. I also think you should shift a few components and think about simplifying the spell. It's just too time-consuming and mentally taxing to create." Vivienne said as she flipped through the book and showed various pages with simplified examples of spell constructions.

From the brief snippet he heard, Dylan realized he was sorely lacking context. What did Emilia want to change? Was it an arcane spell, or a light spell? What did she want to achieve, and so on. Dylan decided to listen, hoping to understand what was being said next.

Apparently his sad and uncomprehending look attracted Vivienne's attention and he heard her again through telepathy.

"It may be too early for you to try upgrading spells, but I know you'll need it. Let me explain." He heard Vivienne's soft voice.

Dylan looked around automatically, although he understood that it was telepathy. The sight of a calm Vivienne who was already talking about another topic with the students began to make him uncomfortable. Thomas's envious look also added to this.

A moment after Vivienne spoke, images of spell designs began to appear in his head. They spun around in his mind like 3D models, and felt like they were right in front of his eyes.

Seeing the spell, he realized that he was still watching Vivienne's calm speech with the students, but he only needed the intent and he could see the spell in his imagination.

Ah, such an ability even scares me. My imagination has never been so strong and vivid.

"Activate parallel thinking, a little stamina consumption and mental strain will only benefit you." Vivienne said using telepathy.

Dylan silently obeyed and activated [Parallel Thinking] and [Accelerated Perception]. Feeling his thoughts flowing much faster, he checked that he could simultaneously see Vivienne and be in his imagination.

"Well done, now we are talking about the best arcane design for strengthening steel and how best to change it for different materials and products."

In Dylan's imagination, the spell broke into many components, after which Vivienne began to explain to him what the structure could do and in what circumstances, how best to apply it to a sword or an axe. This included not only magical laws, but also the rules of geometry. While she was doing this, Dylan realized that it was becoming more difficult for him to understand Vivienne's actual speech, her voice was significantly slower. Catching his anxiety, she hurried to explain everything.

"Don't worry, I increased your thinking speed a little, it won't hurt you in any way."

Dylan nodded as if this didn't surprise him at all and continued to listen to her explain the different constructs. She explained so many things that Dylan was afraid he wouldn't learn anything from it, but at least he would know the general structure of the spells. How best to remove poison, fuse flesh, cure diseases, build barriers, strengthen the body, and so on. He was shown so many different configurations of constructs that his brain was starting to boil, but he loved it. There were so many impressive possibilities that he eagerly and hungrily studied.

Time passed until he noticed out of the corner of his eye that several more people had arrived. Among them he saw Linela, Kaeti and several people he didn't know. After assessing them, he realized that the two newcomers were also first-years, which was interesting.

Then he turned his attention more to Linella and Caeti, which caused his concentration to break, even though he had only allowed himself a few dirty thoughts. Vivienne noticed that he had stopped paying full attention to her and stopped telling her about spells.

"I'm pleased, you're much more diligent than I thought." She said and conveyed to him the image of a smile and joy from his superficial thoughts.

Dylan couldn't decide whether he should be embarrassed or pleased by the praise. While he was in a bit of a stupor, Vivienne got up from her seat to greet the newcomers.

As he watched her, Dylan realized that his perception had returned to normal and he no longer heard the sounds being distorted. He could only think that everything was going too strangely and that he was reacting very slowly to it.

Maybe it's because I was thinking three or four times faster a moment ago? God knows.

Dylan shrugged as he watched Vivienne and the students. She walked up to them as they stopped at the end sofas, waiting until everyone's attention was on her, Vivienne slightly expanded her aura and spoke majestically.

"Now that everyone is here, I can introduce myself. I am Vivienne Everett [Grand Mage of Arcane Creation] [Epic], [Army Creator] [Legendary], [Knower of the Secret of Resurrection] [Epic] , and I am pleased to welcome you to my lesson."

When Vivienne started talking about her titles, her voice began to carry a strange magic, Dylan even thought that he caught a drop of spiritual energy. Listening to her at that moment, he seemed to know what exactly the titles carried. His imagination involuntarily drew several pictures. First, he saw her flying over a burning mountain with a majestic staff in her hands, a moment later she began to sing in their language and create a "Spear of Power", hundreds of meters in size. Time changed and she released the spell. The spear crashed into the mountain, it penetrated halfway and broke into thousands of fragments that cut the trees on the mountain in a matter of moments. A blast wave followed the fragments that created a crater hundreds of meters long.

The next image showed Vivienne as she created a light steel golem that was 50 meters tall and wide. This golem was a [Special] level, and behind him of it stood several dozen more of the same, along with hundreds of smaller ones [Rare].

The last picture showed how she resurrected a truly dead man without a drop of life force. His head was torn from his body, along with his arm, and his entire torso was with terrible torn wounds, from fangs. Vivienne began to chant, holding a staff in her hands. In front of her, a great spell was slowly created, time sped up and when she completed a 20 meter circle. The man's body began to recover, thin tendrils of magic picked up his head and put it in place where it began to grow together, his arm began to grow from his shoulder, and his torso also began to heal without a single scar. Time changed and the man opened his eyes in complete disbelief.

The idea of Vivienne's abilities scared most people around her, but Dylan saw it as an opportunity. This level of power, skill, and knowledge was truly what he wanted. At that moment, he truly became the embodiment of his Desire, he wanted that kind of power, it would allow him to do anything he wanted.

After Vivienne's words, his aura expanded slightly and his will began to overflow him, Dylan didn't notice it in the heat of the moment, but Vivienne noticed it, mainly because even she didn't have such a strong will.

Dylan blinked out of his fantasy and reflexively wrapped himself in the aura, the will stopped pouring out of him at such a speed, but its flow was still strong as it passed through his body.

Most of the students also broke out of their stupor like him, waiting for the last one and giving them time to calm down, Vivienne continued speaking.

"Today, I want to show you what Arcane Creation is, I'm sure that each of you will find a way to use it." Vivienne said with a gentle smile after finishing pressuring the students.

"For this we should go to my personal laboratory, don't leave me alone."

After her words, Vivienne headed for the doors of the building. Dylan followed her, trying not to jump up and down and walk more calmly. He had already managed to calm down more or less and hold off on his ambitions, but now he was aiming for an easier target.

Damn, I want to speak with a magical voice and cause hallucinations like that too. This is incredible! So many reasons to brag!
