Meanwhile, in a different part of the dungeon, a trio of giant centipede golems, that had orange mana veins and were made from orange stones, scuttled across the ground, in a wave-like movement, and one of them started to climb up the wall of the orange cavern. The centipede golem climbed up the side of the cavern. The golem scuttled across the stone elevation before continuing to climb the walls of the cavern.
Shira popped her head out from behind a boulder, that the centipede golem had scuttled past. She looked over the area and checked for anything that could be a threat.
When she concluded that nothing in the cavern seemed to be an imminent threat, she looked over at Devo. He was currently looking through his inventory. He clicked on something and closed his inventory before a group of cubes appeared next to him. The cubes disappeared and six metallic poles, that look like sewing needles, remained in their place. Devo grabbed them and Shira looked confusedly at him.
"What are those, Devo?" Shira asked while placing her right index finger on her cheek and tilting her head to the right. He asked her to hold them and she took five of them. Devo stabbed the Lightning Needle into the bolder. He gestured to Shira to follow him and the two of them tiptoed around the elevated parts of the cavern. The two of them made their way around the cavern, with Devo placing the Lightning Needles around the cavern until they arrived back at the first Lightning Needle. Devo crouched down to Shira.
"Sorry for not answering straight away, these are called Lightning Needles. When they're activated they'll create a magic net barrier thing." Devo whispered.
"Oh.". Devo asked Shira if she can use lightning magic; she nodded her head.
"Ok, here's the plan, I'll draw the attention of the giga centipede golems and when the three of them are inside of the needle's parameter shoot a lightning spell into the...". Devo paused for a second and looked at the ring part of the needle. He pointed at it.
"This thing.".
"Got it," Shira said while nodding quickly. Devo stood up and was about to jump into the intersection of the Lightning Needles but paused for a second. Shira got a little nervous at Devo's abrupt pause. He leaned slightly down to Shira.
"Make sure you don't make too much noise, in fact just cover your mouth.". Shira wasn't sure what he was implying but said she would. Shira covered her mouth with her left hand. Devo climbed over the bolder with one arm before jumping into the intersecting spot of the Lightning Needles.
Devo clenched his fist and violently punched the floor, causing the ground to crack slightly. The three centipedes golems freakishly stopped moving at the same time. The antennas of the centipedes started to glow a bright orange. The centipedes made a beeline for Devo at an unbelievably fast speed. The centipede that had climbed up the wall earlier dropped down from the cavern's ceiling and landed close to Shira.
She made a surprised, but quiet, eep noise but, thanks to already having her hand over her mouth, the centipede didn't seem to hear her as it raced towards Devo. Devo darted his eyes at the three centipedes, which were all coming from different directions, and seemed to be bracing himself to do something. All the centipedes lunged at Devo and dodged their attacks by jumping into the air, causing all the golems to crash into each other. Shira checked the area and noticed that all the centipedes were inside the AOE of the Lightning Needles. She fired a Lightning Bolt spell at the needle in front of her and the gap in the ring of the needle started to glow cyan.
Lightning magic shot out from the ring and a cyan magic ring formed between all the needles before a net of lightning magic fully formed around the area occupied by Devo and the centipedes. The centipedes managed to get back on their feet and charged for Devo, the moment he landed on the ground. One of the centipedes tried to hit Devo with a Lightning Bash while the other two fired a volley of Lightning Bolts. Devo quickly jumped into the air again.
Devo blocked the lightning bolts by surrounding his foot in fire and destroying the lightning bolts with a Burning Tornado, a skill that creates a tornado of fire while the user performs a helicopter kick. When the Fire Tornado finished, Devo struck the centipede that was charging at him in the head with Burning Axe Kick, an axe kick that's performed while the user covers their foot in fire magic.
The centipede's head was buried into the ground by the force of Devo's kick. The other two centipedes rushed for Devo. Devo fired a Burning Impact at the face of one of the centipedes causing it to stagger backwards. Devo dodged out of the way of the third centipede before kicking it in the face while covering his foot in fire magic.
Shira watched in awe and amazement at how effortlessly Devo evaded, and attacked, the centipedes but noticed he was getting a little mental fatigue. She watched the centipedes closely and spotted that the centipedes only moved when Devo was on the ground. She continued to watch Devo fight as she wondered if she could do anything. She suddenly got an idea and opened her menu, before going to the Skill Tree tab.
He fired a Burning Flash at all the centipedes. The flames scorched their bodies and launched them into the lightning net. The centipedes were electrocuted and had their mana drained by the net. Devo wiped his forehead as the centipedes started to get back up. Devo quickly checked all of the centipedes' status'.

"These things are a lot more tedious to deal with than I remember." Devo thought as he launched one of the centipedes into the air, followed by it crashing into the roof of the lighting net. Devo launched the falling centipede with a Wind Blast into the other centipede golems. Magic started to gather above Devo before forming into a floating platform. Devo smirked a little as he looked over at Shira, who waved at him when she noticed he was looking over at her. Devo jumped out of the way of a centipede that tried to Lightning Bash him and landed on the platform.
The centipedes seemed to confusedly scuttle around the area inside of the lightning net trying to locate Devo. Devo let out a tried and quiet exhale. He opened his inventory and clicked on an icon with a blue diamond shape gem, that has a golden frame. The blue gem appeared and Devo grabbed it. He crushed the gem and it fully restored his MP, which was previously at around ten percent.
Devo clicked his neck as he felt the fatigue from having low mana subsided. The millisecond he clicked his neck, the centipedes darted their head directly at Devo and realised he was above them.
All the centipedes fired a barrage of lightning bolts at Devo. He activated his Lightning Cloak skill and sprung into the air. Some of the lightning bolts struck the platform and it shattered, upsetting Shira.

Devo flew through the lightning net, backflipped and landed on the roof of the cavern. Devo fired a barrage of Burning Impact at the centipedes, the force of launching the attacks managed to keep Devo on the ceiling,s before charging up a Burning Javelin. Devo channelled as much mana as he could into the javelin, causing it to shine extremely brightly. Devo hurled the javelin, making the area around his feet crack a little from the force and his feet sank into the ceiling, into the middle of the centipedes.
The javelin struck the ground with explosive force and violently exploded creating a giant bright fireball. The explosion quickly expanded but wasn't able to exceed past the lightning net. The Lightning Needles started to crack from the pressure created by the explosion and eventually shattered. The lightning net dispersed but luckily the explosion died down before it could spread much further.
Shira uncovered her eyes and looked at the spot she last saw the centipede golems.
The centipedes stood motionless for a few seconds, followed by two of them collapsing to the floor and their mana veins going out. Shira assumed the battle was over and walked out from behind the bolder. She accidentally stepped on a loose pebble, causing her to stumble slightly.
"Woah!" Shira accidentally yelled. She froze when she heard slow scuttling ahead of her. She slowly looked up and was scared by what she saw. The remaining burned centipede golem was staring straight at her, from a foot away from her. She looked up at the ceiling, wondering why Devo hadn't come down yet. She noticed Devo's feet were stuck in the ceiling and was trying to pull them out. She looked back down and noticed the centipede golem hadn't moved.
She got an idea and opened her inventory while trying to keep the movements of the lower part of her body to a minimum. She clicked on an icon and a red ball appeared. She caught it before it started to fall. She tossed the ball towards the centipede. The moment the ball hit the ground the centipede violently rammed its head into the ball with a Lightning Bash.
"I thought something was up with these creatures, so they're blind who would've guessed." Shira thought to herself. She quickly checked the centipede's status.

Shira nodded her head and figured she could take it out by herself. She aimed her staff at the centipede, making sure to not touch it, and started to create Fire Mine magic circles all over its body. She quickly tiptoed away from the centipede. She placed a Stone Launcher spell on the ground and took a few steps from the spell. Devo tried to pull his right foot out of the ceiling but could barely get it to move even an inch.
"Come and get me, dumb-dumb!" Shira awkwardly yelled. Devo's eyes widened and frantically looked upward, from his perspective, at Shira. The centipede frantically, and slightly stumbly, raced towards Shira. Devo was about to yell something, to try and get the centipede's attention, but stopped when he spotted all the magic circles. The centipede lunged into the air and flew towards Shira. She smirked, thinking how cool Devo will think she is if she can defeat the monster by herself, as the centipede flew over the Stone Launcher spell. She slammed the base of her staff into the ground, activating the Stone Launcher spell.
A column of stone raced up from the orange magic circle and crashed into the middle of the centipede's body. The centipede was quickly launched into the air. The centipede collided with the ceiling and all the Fire Mines were triggered simultaneously. The resulting explosion, from the FIre Mines, completely obscured the centipede and created a giant cloud of smoke. Shira covered her eyes with her arms when bits of tiny rocks started to fall from the ceiling.
She quickly moved from her spot, right before the centipede crashed into the ground. The centipede, along with the other two, transformed into loot. She crouched down and grabbed the exp orb. The orb disappeared and a pop-up screen appeared in front of Shira.

Devo let out a relieved sigh and looked back at his feet. He glared angerly at his feet before clenching his right hand into a fist. He punched the gap between his feet and the entire area around his feet shattered. Shira watched as Devo dropped from the ceiling and landed on the floor, with rocks crashing around him. Shira timidly walked up to Devo and stopped a few inches from him.
"You're not mad at me... are you?". Devo turned around and looked at her with a puzzled look, showing no signs of the anger he displayed a few seconds ago.
"Why would I be mad at you?".
"Well, I thought you'd be mad that I went against your instructions," Shira explained. Devo itched his left ear as the list of all the loot appeared.

Devo planned to split all the loot as evenly as possible, excluding the Rune Stones going to only him and all the Valts going to Shira. Devo clicked the Split Loot button and split the loot accordingly.
After the loot entered their inventories, Devo looked down at Shira and noticed she seemed a little nervous and realised he hadn't properly answered her.
"Seriously I'm not mad at you, I'm actually impressed,". Shira looked up at him with a mix of surprise and glee. Devo picked Shira up, with her staff floating a few centimetres from her back, and placed her on his back. Devo started to jog further into the cavern.
"As I was saying, I'm impressed you were able to figure out the centipede's weakness so quickly and being able to come up with a plan that took advantage of its weakness.". Shira awkwardly blushed while covering her face from Devo with her hood, and the tips of her hood's cat ears glowed a little red.
"Th-thanks..." She embarrassingly mumbled. Devo smirked a little and found Shira's embarrassment endearing.
