Day 3 - 27 days of protection remaining.
The [Carrion Crow] would take a while to search the area, so he went back to upgrading.
He upgraded his [Lord’s Manor] once more, and the build process repeated itself, except this time the previous manor didn’t break down, instead, an extension was built on both sides giving more rooms he could use and a small courtyard was formed, surrounded by a bone wall on the perimeter of about head height.
The new rooms that had been built included a large study, which had bookcases built into the walls, made from a material that looked close to marble, but turned out to be a highly smooth and polished bone. It was quite pretty considering. The contents of the room were empty, but there was plenty of space for furniture to be added in, there was also a large floor-to-ceiling window which gave the room a very classy feeling, with lots of natural light.
Alex could have made furniture for this new room, but all he could use for materials presently are bones, and he wanted some more variety, he would be very bored if everything were the same.
Using this as the right time, he moved over to one of the bookcases on the wall. As he got closer a small system window opened showing [0/500]. This presumably was the number of books he could add to this particular case. He then moved over his remaining 19 [Skill Book] which contained Berserk, which slotted nicely in the top row.
Heading over to the second room which had been built was another large room, however, this room was completely empty, so there was no indication of what this room had been intended for, so, for now, he dedicated this as a storage room, and ordered his [Bone Mimic] to all line up along a wall and to go into a hibernation state so that they could be used as regular storage chests.
The upgrade was pleasing, and just like last time, he got some benefits for level 3.
[Congratulations on upgrading your territory to level 3]
[New options available]
[Congratulations on reaching Level 3]
[All spells and skills upgraded to level 3]
[New options available]
Just like last time, the upgrade in his skill level had just given him an extra summon, he can now summon or raise 3 minions with each skill, of course, because of his multiplier this was a huge benefit.
Right now with his skills alone, he could summon and raise an army totaling 180 minions, Not including the 1000 [Plague Rat] he could also summon at his leisure.
Whilst he was going over his skills he noticed something that caught his attention and rattled his bones in anticipation.
[Skill will evolve at level 5]
He looked at each of his skills and they all said the same thing. At level 5, all of his skills would evolve. He wasn’t sure how they would evolve, but evolution is usually always a good thing.
Moving on to his new [Lord’s Manor] he checked out the details for this too, hoping for new changes.

[Dark Lord’s Reputation Level 1]
[Every new day have a 5% chance for a wandering undead to request to join your territory]
[Undead drawn in by your reputation are special in some way]
[The higher the level of your reputation, the higher the level of undead]
It looks like this isn’t going to evolve, which kind of makes sense. How would a building evolve? But the new effect which his manor provided his territory was very interesting. He wondered what it meant when it mentioned they would be special. Special how? Two heads? No heads? Super awesome skills? Maybe I could get an undead Goku? How cool would it be to have an army of his favorite anime characters?
He spent the next 20 minutes trying to figure out the logistics of raising an undead Monkey D. Luffy. Would he still have his Devil Fruit ability? Does he even have bones? Are they just rubber bones? So many questions...
Shaking the thought from his head, it was time to upgrade the summoning gate.
Alex was a little sad at this. He successfully upgraded the summoning gate, but there wasn’t much change visually. The pentagram was more defined with the extra bones filling in the spaces, but that was about it. He wondered where the hell all of those extra bones went. It would be a while before he found that out, but when he does, he will be in for a BIG surprise. But that’s a story for another time.
He checked the updated information for the [Summoning Gate]
[Summoning Gate]
[Level: 3]
[Durability: Infinite]
[Description: Basic summoning gate for the territory]
[Can summon 15 followers daily]
[10% chance of summoning a rare follower]
[Can be upgraded]
[Upgrade requirements: 250,000 bones]
As expected, it looks as though every level the [Summoning Gate] gains, it summons an extra 5 followers.
For Alex, of course, this means that every day he gains 150 new followers, and with 27 days left until his protection period expires, he would have a standing force of over 4000 just using the gate. He could make an army of insane numbers already if he was to use his remaining 135,000 bones, but he wasn’t going to do that.
A huge army is great, but it also needs to be strong. It’s likely that even if he made an army 100,000 strong with [Skeleton Warrior] there’s a good chance that [Bael] could destroy it single-handed.
What he was going to focus on now was building the foundation of his territory, and this started with imitating a certain orange billionaire by building a wall!
So far, all he had done was upgrade buildings which he already had been given, so when he went into the building menu he was slightly surprised.
What he saw in the menu was an eagle-eye view of his territory from above, with his [Lord’s Manor] as the center point. He had a long list of buildings to choose from, some he couldn’t build due to lack of materials, some due to insufficient level, but he could build the wall that he was looking for.
His level 3 territory was 300 square meters, which was quite small as a territory goes, but big enough for now. He selected [Basic Bone Wall] and on the map floated a small wall, which he could move at will.
He used this and surrounded his entire territory of 300 square meters and to his surprise, it didn’t cost quite as much as he had expected. Alex put a budget aside of 100,000 bones for this task, however, the cost of this would only come to a total of 69,455 bones. This would make a wall 4 meters high and 1 meter thick. Although not the best, it was a good start.
Before it was time to build this, however, he had some tasks to complete. Taking inspiration from the history he had studied previously, the best way to build a wall was to also have a moat. Luckily for him, he now has a [Giant Basilisk] which would be perfect for this.
Calling over [Noodle] it was time for his very first task, which was to dig a large moat around his territory and to stack up the excavated dirt on the side within the territory. He would then compact this earth down, and build the wall on top of this earthen barricade. Doing this would increase the height of his wall by a huge margin. Making it much easier to defend, and due to the huge pit that will be filled eventually, it becomes so much harder to attack.
It took a good couple of hours for [Noodle] to finish his task, which was quite amazing thinking about it. If it was left up to Alex and his undead minions to finish it likely would have taken days, maybe weeks.
Alex of course spoiled [Noodle] with many pets and boops hereby changing his title from ‘Commander Noodle’ to ‘Goodest boi Noodle’. Which was celebrated with a happy hissing sound amongst the pats.
Going back to the building menu, Alex once again surrounded his territory with a wall, carefully making sure it was placed along the top of this new natural fortification, and tapped [accept].
The void tore open in many places all around him, and bones came zooming out in all directions, it was an impressive sight to behold. Soon after, the bones came to a stop, and it was time to see how everything turned out.
