The existence of other dimensions is not a foreign topic religious believers. In the Abrahamic religion for example, they believe in the existence of angels, demons, and devils who live in the same world as ours, only in a different dimension. People like this believe that our vast universe wasn’t created for nothing, but rather for a specific purpose. So if multiple dimensions exist, how do we connect to them?

The theory of parallel universes or the multiverse has long been discussed among the scientists in theories such as Schrödinger’s cat or the string theory. Although none of these parallel universes have been proven to exist so far, the hype about their possible existence will last forever.

There is also a question of the human mind. There is a word, ‘imagination’ which came from a mind. Imagine. The human imagination is both boundless and unlimited. With it, humans have created numerous wonderful worlds filled with sci-fi, mythical creatures, fairy tales, dreams, reincarnation and much more. Where do all of these ideas come from, and what if all of them actually exist?

In 2013, Higgs boson, also know as God’s Particle, was found. This boson is the very foundation of existence, and some scientists believe it to be the answer to open gates to other dimensions. Their theory is that if a certain amount of the boson is accumulated, the gate to another will be opened. Unfortunately, their experiments were force to halt because of a budget deficiency. After that, no public discussion was made about the theory, and the hype about god’s particle slowly died down.

However in a place far from public knowledge, the project to open a gate leading to another dimension has been continued. No one but those directly involved know the exact location where the experiment take place, but even so the project is funded by the world government and led by the world’s superpowers. This project has been funded by the world government, led by superpowers. The world leaders have long grown tired of current world peace and were itching for new war. However the masses didn’t approve, so their wanted war never came. Thus the prospect of opening a gate to another new world riled them up and brought forth their greed for wealth and power.

Today, the project known only as ‘The Experiment’ finally reached the most critical moment: initiation. All preparations have been made and carefully examined to assure that nothing goes wrong. The world government leaders who funded the projects, wanting to be the first to witness the new world, have gathered at the location to watch history unfold.  

Today, all nine planets will align. The moment all nine planets are in place, The Experiment will start. Although there is no relation whatsoever between the planetary alignment and The Experiment’s success, due to superstitious belief that the planetary alignment will bring about a miracle, the leader of The Experiment refused to begin on another date. Although it was unscientific, to him, The Experiment itself was a bridge between science and superstition. One or two superstitions more will change nothing anyways.

The leader of The Experiment was called the Chief of Crazy Scientists. Although the members of The Experiment were, not in fact, not crazy or mentally broken, but it was only due to their insane efforts that The Experiment could reach this stage. The Experiment also used to be called nothing more than an insane dream; but managing to reach this stage was a success on its own. Thus, all the members involved in the project were called Crazy Scientists.

Currently, the Chief of Crazy Scientists was monitoring the lab from the control room with some of his minions.

Chief of Crazy Scientists: “How’s the preparation?"

Crazy Scientist One: “Everything is ready, sir.”

Crazy Scientist Two: “The experiment will be successful. We can guarantee it, sir.”

Chief of Crazy Scientists: “Idiot, you’re a world renowned crazy scientist but still talking bullshit. Nothing is guaranteed. Double check everything. I don’t want any mistakes! Do you understand?”

“I-I’ll go and recheck everything right now, Sir”, Crazy Scientist Two replied with a bead of sweat on his forehead.

30 minutes to initiation.

Crazy Scientist One: “Sir, everything has been checked and rechecked as per your orders. No mishaps should happen. Although it’s not guaranteed, but we can assure that you the success of The Experiment is around 99.99%."

Chief of Crazy Scientists: “Good, I hope you’re right because if anything happens during The Experiment, you can say goodbye to your head. Hahahaha.”

Crazy Scientist One: “Yes Sir.”

Chief of Crazy Scientists: “Where are the world leaders?”

Crazy Scientist One: “They’re witnessing the event from the next room.”

“Good. We’re making history today, Crazy Scientist One. We’re making history,” the Chief of Crazy Scientists said with a stupid smile on his face.

15 seconds until initiation.

Crazy Scientist One: “Sir, the button is ready.”

Chief of Crazy Scientists: “OK, start the countdown.

“Initiate The Experiment!” the Chief of Crazy Scientists shouted as he pushed the initiation button.

A water like substance started to gather inside a large machine with an appearance similar to that of a Large Hadron Collider. After several minutes, the substance filled the machine and a thin silvery wall-like film appeared within the machine's spiraling mouth.

Everyone in the lab roared in joy, shouting and congratulating one another. The Chief of Crazy Scientists wore a proud look on his face, and just as he opened his mouth to say something, a blinding light shone from the machine and…

BOOOOOOOOMMM!!!

An earth shattering explosion occurred, followed by a loud cracking sound from the sky. The previously blue sky suddenly turned blood red, bringing a grim and ominous feeling to the heart.

The blood red sky was noticed across the world, and the same could be said with the boom and cracking sound. Everyone turned their heads up, looking upward towards the ominous sky, wondering what happened to the world. Was it an apocalypse, they wondered. Since it happened so suddenly, nobody knew the answer and could only speculate.

To make thing worse, a shockwave erupted from the explosion that destroyed all electronic devices.

Millions lost their lives from the shockwave alone. Critical patients in hospitals that depended on life support to survive, people who used batteries to keep their heart pumping, passengers of crashing planes and those riding on subways were all taken out along with the electricity. Some dams even automatically released the water they held once their systems went down, flooding villages and cities alike. All of that and more in a mere five minutes.

What happened to the rest of the population? Without electronic devices to access information, the loud booming and cracking sounds plus the ominous sky left almost everyone in a panic and feeling lost. All they could hope for was that the government would provide them with some form of explanation after everything calmed down. Little did they know that the government was as clueless as they were.

Right after the shockwave, a tremor was felt. Not a destructive one, but one big enough to make a person tremble. Unknown to the panicking population of the world, new continents were emerging from the ocean and floating islands were appearing from places unknown within the sky. Anyone who saw these places would immediately say that they were not from this world.

The tremor and cracking sounds continued for almost 2 hours before coming to a sudden stop. Right as the survivors were taking a breath of relief, a strange panel appeared before their eyes.

Hello everyone, I’m the overseer of your world. I believe all of you felt that tremor and heard the cracking sound during these past 2 hours. To make things short, due to some good for nothing idiots, the barrier between your world and another dimensions shattered, forcing both to combine. This is merely the beginning of your troubles. In the near future, You will encounter beings from another world. Do not expect a warm welcome. Prepare for the worse, and maybe then you’ll manage to survive.
