Chapter 196: A fleeting breeze

Time; a fleeting breeze, unstoppable, and unpredictable—such is its essence.

For some, it unfolds like a cursed eternity, each moment dragging on in agonizing slowness.

While for others, it bestows its blessings fleetingly, like a beautiful but brief dream.

Yet, regardless of how people perceive it, time gallops forward like a wild horse, paying no heed to anyone or anything, remaining indifferent to all desires, ambitions, and regrets.

This is the eternal truth of time, be it the past, present, or future.

And so, with its constant rule unfolding for all to witness, nearly three months silently slipped away, leaving traces of memories in its wake.

For Lorien, these memories consisted of his time practicing with Maki, allowing her to acquire better control of her new powers and to gain a better understanding of their applications in battle.

However, that is only a minor part of the training as the majority of time was dedicated to practicing martial arts.

This allowed the new 'Dream Path Walker' to not only consolidate and perfect her foundations, but it also allowed her to reach the [Extraordinary] level in the Martial Path.

This occurrence somewhat surprised Lorien as he didn't expect her to reach this level in such a short period of time.

However, when he though about the fact that he not only gave her the basic breathing technique which is very flexible but also guided her himself, he immediately felt relieved as a smile appeared on his face.

'As expected of myself!'

Narcissistically commending himself, Lorien proceeded to jokingly ignore the efforts Maki had put in as he then continued diving down his memory lane.

After all, while training is important, that wasn't the only thing Lorien experienced in this period of time as he kept leaving the domain once in a while to meet Yuki and hang out around Tokyo.

Otherwise, keeping a monotonous state for such a long time would most likely bore him to death.

'However, frankly, I wouldn't be the only reality warper to die because of such reasons as this might actually be the most common cause of death for reality warpers...'

Shaking his head, Lorien quickly threw the messy thoughts aside as he then started recalling the passed events which he deemed interesting.

'Well, there was an additional person who joined the Dream Path power system, that should count as important news right?!'

'Ummmmm, it's just that the power she awakened isn't that good...compared to other dream path walkers that is.'

The one Lorien is talking about is his 'secretary' Nagi Yoshino as after Lorien sent her the dream path seed, it remained dormant for a while before awakening on its own.

However, surprisingly, even after suddenly gaining superpowers and discovering a whole new world, Nagi still kept going about her life as if nothing had ever happened.

The only noticeable change is that she got much healthier and stronger and that she now attributes a section of her day to practicing.

Apparently, she was also interested in the increase in life span that might even reach immortality by reaching a high enough level in the dream path.

However, sadly for her, she couldn't find a way to teach her son any of this, and all she could do was wish that a miracle appears and that he somehow awakens some abilities as she did.

It's just that this hope is quite slim for now unless he becomes one of the lucky ones to awaken after Lorien officially launches his plan.

However, this is something for the future (near) and has nothing to do with the past or present.

But, speaking of things that have something to do with the past, Lorien began recalling other important events.

'Apparently, something happened on the side of cursed spirits as volcano head didn't attack Gojo...'

'Well, it seems that he's quite lucky, to be honest, I don't see how he would have run away from an enhanced Gojo otherwise.'

'But, while the cursed spirits didn't attack Gojo, they still intervened in the Kyoto Goodwill Event, moreover, before doing that, they attacked a couple more places to attract his attention so they could gain even more time.'

'This caused things to not differ that much from the original timeline.'

'It seems that Kenjaku has been adapting and improving his plan all this time, so I am quite interested in how things will unfold from here on out...'

Rubbing his chin In deep thought, Lorien couldn't help but think about Sukuna who was still sealed within Yuji.

'I don't know if this guy became interested in Megumi's [Ten Shadows Technique] or not.'

'But, I don't think that he made a pact with Yuji as he did in the original, so even if he became interested, It's unlikely that he'll be able to do anything.'

'Moreover, I am going to appear way before these events, so, even if he has a trick up his sleeve, he won't be able to do anything.'

'However, the most likely thing to happen is that he'll take advantage of this incident to get free from Yuji's body.'

Shaking his head, Lorien decided not to speculate on this any further as he then turned his attention toward Maki who was practicing not that far away.

Looking at her, a grin appeared on his face as he couldn't help but wonder.

'I am really curious as to how everyone will react after meeting her again!'

Thinking about the upcoming event, the grin on Lorien's face grew even wider as excitement and joy became apparent on his face.

"HAHAHAHHA, I've been waiting for so long!"

"It's finally coming, the Shibuya incident!"

"How will this incident unfold with me acting as the butterfly that caused the tornado!'

"One event causes another, small things can have non-linear impacts on a complex system, a lot of variables, infinite potential!"

"HAHAHAHA, Don't let me down, Gojo, Sukuna, Kenjaku!'
