So, filled with anticipation and tension, Lorien then moved his hand slightly upwards and clenched it causing the 'Dream Path Seed' to instantly disappear into his body.
The moment this happened, some mysterious changes started occurring inside Lorien's body.
The first of which is the construction of a 'Path' which didn't previously exist.
This is very similar to the natural 'Paths' and 'Power Systems' naturally born in some worlds where even though the natives may not have a 'Cultivation Technique' to guide them, they will still progress naturally alongside the levels, albeit a bit slowly.
For example, if someone born in an 'Immortal Cultivation' type of world were to eat some sort of treasure, they will automatically progress and breakthrough levels even if they didn't know what the next level even is or how to reach it.
This is the 'Natural Path' or 'Natural Power System' which is innately existent in some worlds.
The only difference between having or not having a 'Cultivation Technique' in such worlds is actually how much one can hone said path (Power application, Characteristics...etc), and how strong he would be at the same level.
It's just that there might be some restrictions at the higher levels where minimal requirements may be existent as people need specific sequences, actions, or stability at lower levels to reach those aforementioned higher levels.
This is exactly what some may call 'Foundation'.
However, this still varies greatly from one world to the other as each path has its own unique features and limits.
But, as previously stated, all 'Paths' has the same goals — The evolution of the Soul, Body, and Energy.
And so, what the 'Dream Path Seed' did just now was construct a 'Path' which Lorien will from now on walk on.
This path is as such:
[Awakened] -> [Inner Dream] -> [Outer Dream] -> [???] -> [???]
This is very different from how he previously progressed, after all, before constructing this path, Lorien tried strengthening himself in a very chaotic manner without taking any targeted approaches.
However, this is not bad per se, after all, it is this chaotic approach that allowed him to reach his current level.
So, even though Lorien currently walks the 'Dream Path', this doesn't mean that he gave up the others as he still walks the 'Martial Path' as a secondary system, and he still holds the power to instantly 'demolish' the 'Dream Path' and return to his 'Chaotic State'.
This novel's true home is a different platform. Support the author by finding it there.
After all, what he wanted from this 'Dream Path' was a way to improve faster and to better implement his knowledge and resources, not a prison for himself.
And so, with the 'Dream Path' finally taking shape, its effects immediately became apparent as the second change finally ensued in Lorien's body.
And this transformation is actually Lorien finally beginning to walk down the newly constructed path, starting with the [Awakening] Stage.
Firstly, it began with the ability as the first purpose of the 'Dream Path' is to awaken a new one.
However, because Lorien made some changes earlier, this changed from an awakening to an optimization.
And this was instantly felt by Lorien as he could sense that some mysterious power was altering his eyes as they were the only awakened ability Lorien has other than his [Origin] which is unreachable.
Right now, Lorien could feel that his eyes are very 'malleable' and if he were to spend some Dream Energy to push things a bit, he could most likely finally 'activate' the 'past' and 'present' parts of its power.
And from then on, his eyes won't only be able to look at the 'future' but also glimpse at the 'present' and 'past'.
However, just as he linked himself again to the immense reserves of Dream Energy and was about to begin, he couldn't help but hesitate.
'Why should I push my [Clairvoyance] in this direction, it doesn't really help me much...'
'After all, I can already do most things with my current one, not to mention that I am suppressing it most of the time.'
'Being able to look at the indefinite future is already a bit boring, not to mention looking at the past and present.'
'Just thinking about it makes me feel a bit dull.'
So, thinking of this, Lorien couldn't help but think of other ways he could push his 'Ocular Prowess' towards; A direction where it will not only be helpful but also interesting.
'My eyes are based on Dreams with the power of Time and maybe Destiny as a sub-division, so, I should think in those directions...'
Thinking of those 3 Concepts and the possible 'Ocular Prowess' that could be developed based on them, Lorien couldn't help but think of 2 'Eyes' he had previously read about.
The first of which is from the Nasu-verse and is Miyamoto Musashi's 'Heavenly Eye'.
This is a Mystic Eye ability that permits the resolution of a desired result as "inevitable" by way of committing the entirety of the user's existence to the act of achieving the outcome.
This is an ability that focuses "the means to an end" to "a single solution"; an ability that affects the restriction of all possible futures to a "single outcome."
This allows Musashi to release, without waste, in the most efficient path, a slice that pins down time and space, a slice that inevitably falls.
In other words, this ability defines that a particular movement through a particular space at a particular time is the only permissible outcome.
A perfect combination of the power of time and the reversal of cause and effect.
As for the second 'Eye', that would be the 'Migeiko', Nanami Yasuri's eyes from the 'Katanagatari' verse.
Those eyes allow her to copy any technique, movement, and strength that she sees.
If she sees a technique once, she can imitate it, and if she sees it twice, she can master it.
Moreover, this copying ability also applies to inherent characteristics, and bloodlines.
This is very similar to how Lorien copies abilities and is partially doable using the powers of time, destiny, and dreams as those 3 concepts are very helpful if used to learn stuff and gain knowledge.
