55. Jircniv Rune Farlord El-Nix Part 4

Chapter 55

Kara: Rise warrior, rise from Valhalla and serve me.

As she said that, a green transparent ooze formulated around the head before…

Me: No…impossible!

Standing there was a Valhallan Warrior. As it’s eyes twinkled as it knelt before Kara-sama, I realized that this was no Death Knight. It held intelligence and memories of it’s past life.

Kara: Tell me warrior, who ordered you to send intruders into my home. Was it on your own will or was it perhaps someone else.

The tall green warrior which resembled nothing like the Earl I knew opened his mouth. The voice from him was deep and resonating throughout the room. It was humanlike, but sent chills into my bones when I heard what he said.

Earl: I was ordered by the Emperor to send Workers into the Haven.

Kara; Emperor, you say? Could it be the emperor standing over there?

Earl: I have no doubt. He had made sure that no one else but myself would be able to track this down.

No please! If there is any sense in you left, I beg of you to stay quiet!

Kara: I see. Then that will be all, go join the rest.

As the warrior left, Kara-sama threw the head at the ugliest thing I had mentioned before. The giant demon like thing.

Kara: Death Knight

Moria: Of course Kara-sama…’Create Death Knight’

A black ooze covered the head before he dropped it. In it’s place was… a Death Knight.

As one, everyone behind me inhaled sharply in surprise yet again

Fluder: Im… possible…

They created it. The Sengoku’s words were true. I desperately wanted to bite his lip but forced myself not to. I could not do such a shameful thing in public.

Moria: Go. Get in line.

With a deep groan that seemed to come from somewhere far beneath the earth, the Death Knight obediently descended the stairs and vanished from my field of vision.

How many more of these Death Knights can he still make? Or the Warriors? Don’t tell me… an unlimited number, as long as they have corpses? No, that’s just ridiculous ― wait, before that, can they make even more powerful undead or other minions? If they really could make such creatures…

Kara: Then, Jircniv Rune Farlord El-Nix

Her quiet voice brought me back to my senses, and I smiled easily to her. It was not easy to do so.

Me: Ah, Kara-sama. Please call me Jircniv. Aside from that…there must be some sort of misunderstanding. The Earl was a fool. I had planned to get rid of him for his foolishness to begin with!

Even as I said it, it sounded ridiculous. I came up with it on the spot. This was not how the meeting was planned for me. Never would I have expected that she would create one of those monsters and force them to speak! No…is the Empire done for?

Diana: Is that so? Fine, we accept. I will consider the matter of that noble’s invasion of Vanir settled. Then, that is all. Although I have made you come a long way, you are now free to leave.

What?

Me: Ah, forgive me. I fear I may have misheard your words. Could I trouble you to speak them to me once more?

There was no way this could be so easy. All the show of power, dominance, and an untold threat that was more threatening unsaid…and this was it?

Kara: There is no need for you to apologize. It will be fine if you return home. After all, we will be getting quite busy over here shortly.

What was their objective? Why was I forgiven so easily…this must be a trap. Wait, ‘getting busy’?

Me: Forgive me, but what did you mean by ‘getting very busy’?

Diana: Thanks to Your Majesty, we now know that we will be drawn into troublesome matters even if we try to keep a low profile. That being the case, I was thinking of moving to the surface and personally dealing with all these troublesome things.

No…please don’t say the next words!

Me: That, that would mean…

Kara: First, we shall have those who plot against us pay the price for their foolishness. After that, we shall crush all the troublesome people we encounter until the peace we so cherish is restored.

These words were the ranting of a lunatic.

No ― that would be wrong. They not mad. When one considered their abilities, their military and economic strength, those words were not mad at all. It was only I ― blinded by my limited experience ― who found it hard to accept the facts.

These were gods…they meant what they said. An uncontrollable feeling of dread welled up from beneath my feet.

The Grand Haven of Vanir. It was a monster which had secluded itself away quietly. Now it had opened its doors, and it was about to take its first steps on the surface world.

What have I done…

Should I surrender? Essentially it would be the right thing to do. I could not imagine even all of humanity banded together defeating them.

Kara: Sis, they’re done. All conflicts are over and ready

Diana: Oh really? Send them through.

What are they talking about? Am I not in any importance right now?

Suddenly, a familiar large black portal appeared in the middle of the Throne Room. Slightly to the left of me. There, a very large platinum Dragon emerged.

…Platinum Dragon Lord?

Platinum Dragon Lord: I, Platinum Dragon Lord represent the Argland Council. We of the Argland Council surrender our territory and power to the true rulers of this world.

With that, he bowed so low that his mighty dragon self was nowhere to be found. Just barely after he spoke, another 2 smaller portals opened up. From which a Quagoa and a Dwarf emerged.

Dwarf: I, Firegrog, represent the Dwarven Council of the Dwarven Kingdom. We surrender our territory and power to the true rulers of this world.

Quagoa: I, Pe Riyuro, the Clan Lord of the Quagoa people represent the Quagoa. We surrender our territory and power to the true rulers of this world.

What was happening? When did they make their moves? But unfortunately, the nightmare did not end there as another portal opened. 2 figures emerged, but one was which I recognized.

Elf: I, Zesshi Zetsumi, the new Queen and ruler of the Elven Kingdom, represent the Elves. We surrender our territory and power to the true rulers of this world…Kara and Diana-sama.

She was smiling as she said those words. She face filled with pure delight as she sacrificed her everything to these…these monsters!

Finally, a man I recognized bent his knee, crushing my hopes.

Raymond: I, Raymond, Cardinal and now sole surviving leader of the Theocracy, represent the Slane Theocracy. We surrender our territory and power to the true gods of this world…I beg of you to not kill our people…

His robes were dirty and drenched in blood. His eyes were teary as if he just lost a country…which he did. Yet, he cast away his beliefs and pride for his people. Looks like this was all calculated; deciding which cardinal should be the last survivor.

Looking around for a second, I realized that we were outmatched. From the Empire’s West, the Argland Council had surrendered. From the East, the Dwarven mountains and Quagoa had surrendered. From the South, both the Elven and the Slane Theocracy were in their hands. Only the Empire, Kingdom, Draconic Kingdom and the Holy Kingdom were not conquered yet. Will this last?

The answer was obvious. I knew what I had to do…and why they brought me here. Coming here, I thought about creating a new system which would make sure the emperors that came after me would be capable…but it seems as if I would be the last emperor of the Baharuth Empire.

Defeated, I bent my knee. This time with on my own will.

Me: I, Jircniv Rune Farlord El-Nix, Emperor of the Empire represent the Baharuth Empire. We surrender our territory and power to the true rulers of this world…

For the first time, the rulers smiled. As if satisfied with my answer.

I could only let out a chuckle at how a single order, a god damn single order, to check out a mysterious temple had led to the dissolution of the entire continent.

What have I done
