“How would you like life to appear? The scientific, mystic or mythic version, what's your choice?”
I could feel the attention split how part of them was still focused on the problem while simultaneously pondering on the choices given.
They really grow up so fast. They're already multitasking like it's nothing. Ah nothing beats watching a world grow.
I didn't let any of that slip out loud. Having a spoiled world brings nothing but trouble. Doesn't stop me internally gushing though.
“All of them,” was their answer.
Greedy not that anything wrong with that if anything its a positive for the world To be a bit greedy. Incorporating everything into one wasn't hard.
I started with two seeds once again planted in the two craters left behind by the world trees. One was planted with the source of life and the other death.
Every new tree brought new things and these two brought the greatest changes.
The upside down portion where the death tree grew started to become ethereal. The place was constantly covered in fog and the aura of death engulfing everything. Soon it would be a place where the living cannot set foot in.
The portion with the life tree had begun to introduce life to all parts of the world, mostly microbes. Whether it be in the atmosphere or space there were now tiny living specs.
Not only that the very world changed the moment the two were placed. The ground shook with great force. The terrain changed especially those near the elemental trees.
The northern area with the water tree became cold. The radius around the tree is around a dozen kilometers covered permafrost. The middle portion became a tundra and the outer portion was a taiga type biome.
The eastern area became full of mountains with the tree at the center. The area after that was full of hills of all sizes, some rivaling the size of small mountains. The outer layer was a Rocky outcropping.
The south was a land of fire. Volcanoes surrounded the fire tree and the obsidian wasteland enveloped the fiery core terrain. Deserts were the ring and the largest spanning quite the distance. Ash and dust covered the skies as sandstorms brewed and ash rain fell.
The west was probably the place with the most changes and easily the most mystical. A circular area with the tree at its center rose from the ground forming a floating island. A canyon a dozen or so kilometers deep was formed from where it once was. Plateaus and plains scattered around as well as other much smaller canyons. Multiple floating islands roamed the skies now.
This book's true home is on another platform. Check it out there for the real experience.
Still all was barren for the world was waiting for the trees to sprout before everything would bloom and life would really begin.
That was the mystical life creation done now for the scientific version. I created comets of ice in space and set it to crash in around tens of millions of years or so. Give it time to collect space dust and microbes and other fun stuff.
The fruits from the two world trees should also mature in around 50 million years.
It was also around that time the life and death trees would mature. If not, I'm gonna have to tweak things a bit.
Year 65000000 since creation
Current Age: Origin
Analysis confirmed the end of the current age.
Proceeding to enter the next stage.
Year 0 since Origin
Current age: Primordial
**whoosh**
**boom**
*crackle*
The last comet turned meteorite fell. That was a cue the world was waiting for. Two tall trees swayed in the wind. The sound reminiscent of thunder but very much distinct rang signaling the end of an age and beginning of a new era.
Once again changes occured to the world now that life and death have finally matured.
There were rivers, lakes , seas and oceans inland now. Before the comets arrived the ocean only occupied the edges. Now the ocean occupies the majority of the world with five large landmasses that could be called continents.
The northern continent was a freezing place full of icebergs and the location of the largest seas and ocean. It had the smallest land mass of the five. Blizzards frequented the areas near the tree and storms raged almost indefinitely above the waters. Alpine forests were some of the few areas with vegetation present in the region.
The east was full of vegetation and precious materials. Whether it be mountains or hills there were a variety of flora. Metals and jewels formed beneath the earth and deep in the mountains. There was also the odd case of rock, metal and jewel trees growing infrequently above and below the ground.
The south remained mostly unchanged with only the slight addition of plantlife. The flowers and trees growing near and in lava were quite the sight to behold. The various oases and rivers that now flowed in the region also breathed life in the desert.
The west was full of fields, savannas, and grasslands. There were also a number of rivers, lakes, and marshes dotting the place. The floating islands have all been drifting to various parts of the world with only the biggest one containing the wind tree staying stationary. This was also twister alley. Lots and lots of swirlies appear here.
The central region was the most diverse with forest, jungles, swamps, marshes and the mangrove where land meets sea. In the heart the land lies a large lake, big enough to be considered an inland sea.
The presence of plantlife wasn't the only change nor was it the most drastic. That was the creation of the underworld and the formation of a planet.
The upside-down portion of the world slowly detached and became ethereal. A place only Immaterial beings can enter. It was a mirror to the material realm down to the last detail. While the two may be separate now there was still a strong connection between them.
They were mirror worlds. One immaterial and the other material. One of life and the other of death. The underworld and the overworld.
The two realms overlapped. Infinitely close yet far. Occupying the same area yet unable to interact with each other in any way.
Once the two were completely aligned the transformation began. The plane slowly but surely curved. The end eventually met and from a plane it became a spherical planet. Of course earthquakes, eruptions and disasters struck the world but the five continents remained.
All this took fifty million years before the world became stable. More than once did the world almost end mostly due to the suns and moons threatening to explode. But all that ends today for the fruits were finally mature and the first batch of primordials were born.
The only issue would be that they were all eldritch beings. Thankfully they were invisible to the perception of most creatures otherwise this world would not develop any kind of intelligent life.
Hopefully eldritch gods being the first true intelligent or at least kind of intelligent life wouldn't be a problem…
Hopefully…
I may need to make contingency plans.
