Chapter 1

To Concept Cycle,

You have been officially transferred to branch G277227. Please proceed immediately to sector 80 and begin the creation process.

You have a trillion years allotted to create and develop a functional world before the Convergence.

Please do note that meeting other creators before the halfway mark is prohibited. At the halfway mark there will be a meeting of creators attendance is manual and required.

From Central

This was what I received just after finishing the last job. As a conceptual being who has no stable physical form, it should have been impossible to perceive any form of emotion just from appearance but I made it possible or at least think so.

'It never ends, does it,' I thought to myself tiredly. My incorporeal body which looks like a swirling cyclical mess seemed to be drooping to any who saw it. Well any other concepts who saw, if mortals would see me then they'd just go mad or die or both.

‘I was never this overworked when I was mortal,’ Granted that my mortal form couldn't exactly get exhausted.

‘I regret ascending,’ I didn't exactly ascend willingly but wasn't against it either. ‘I should have resisted more.’

“I need a break,” I grumbled knowing nobody could hear me nor care if they could.

'I doubt those bastards would give me one. Let's just get this over with. I don't want to let others get a head start. After all, creation is a competition and I have no intention of losing.'

It took little less than a moment and I was already at the destination. Perks of being conceptual include unlimited power while flaws include unlimited work.

I was surrounded by the VOID. An emptiness that chills any who sees it. Even an existence like mine could only last a year here give or take. Deities couldn't even withstand an hour in it while mortals have less than a second.

Even now I could feel it devouring the tiny portions of power I used to shield myself. The feeling of being assimilated by the encompassing nothingness sent me a feeling of dread.

I always hated this part of the job. Not that this was the only thing I don't like but it's definitely on my top ten, maybe top five.

A case of literary theft: this tale is not rightfully on Amazon; if you see it, report the violation.

‘Let's get this over with, the faster I start the sooner I'm out of the VOID.’

I wasted no time and started the process of creation. At least in this, I was allowed to do as I please. Whether I created a scientific, magical, eldritch world or any in between was completely up to me.

I had a lot of experience in making various worlds with a single power system or multi-power systems. This time I wanted to see if I could make a world with all power systems like magic, science, cultivation, and the like and I already had an idea how.

I first created two seeds. Both were relatively small to me though if seen by a mortal they would see it as a pair of towering mountains. I checked for any imperfections. Creation was a delicate task after all. The process needed more finesse and control than just pure power and brute force.

After I confirmed they were just as I envisioned I tossed them into the VOID.

I saw visions of the moment I released the seeds. Different images of possible futures were before me. Some led to the world's death, others to its eternity. If I made any changes this would cause a ripple in the visions. Some would disappear and others solidified.

This wasn't anything new. As the ‘Creator’ of this world this was an authority given to me. A string connected to the world to sense its state and condition. One more string to add to the countless others attached to me.

It was all still for a moment before the seeds absorbed power from the VOID. The VOID was actually energy so pure and dense that it became destructive and corrosive to just about everything else. It assimilated and broke down anything into itself until only VOID remained.

A fun fact about the VOID is that individuals see it differently from one another. One saw it as darkness while another saw it as a white space. For me, it was a swirling rainbow mess similar to my form.

Concepts like myself create worlds to harvest that immense energy. We can't use it as is but know that worlds convert it into CHAOS and use this special energy to function and grow. Since then we have created various worlds to 'fill' the VOID.

CHAOS is just as potent as the VOID only less disintegration and more construction. It is the primary building block of creation and something concepts can use. The very reason for all the non-stop creation of worlds.

The concepts divided the VOID into branches and those branches are divided into sectors because it's so vast. Those branches eventually become a universe and after more time a multiverse and whatever term others call something bigger than a multiverse.

It's still debated by other concepts and they still can't decide. One group calls for megaverse, another group hyperverse, and another group omniverse and it goes on and on. You get the drill. Most just don't care and that's the group I’m part of.

Oh and sectors are individual galaxies.

Concepts first create worlds that would grow into galaxies. Those galaxies expand and would eventually come into contact with the creations of others.

From there which world dominates the branch becomes the main universe. The concept who created said world gets the most benefits usually in CHAOS.

Honestly, I couldn't care less about the spoils I would get. I just don't like my world being dominated by others. Seeing how my world’s unique features and views get assimilated and overwritten by others makes me mad.

I consider every world I created to be my child and I don't want to see them become another's wedding cake. Not again. I would see to it and use every advantage to strengthen this world to its pinnacle.

I won't see another frayed and disconnected thread. A string without connection, that lost its connection. This was a vow I made after my first lost world.

I’ll make sure this one will survive. I have lots of things planned. But first things first the world still needs to be formed.

The seeds were still absorbing energy from their surroundings and a transparent barely felt barrier formed around them. No matter how many times I saw this scene it never got old. The beginning of a galaxy, the birth of a world. One I was sure would be the greatest in this universe, this new branch's best.
